How Can an Augmented Reality Company Transform Your Business?
In an increasingly competitive market, businesses are always looking for innovative ways to stand out and attract customers. One technology that’s making waves is augmented reality (AR).
While it’s commonly associated with entertainment, AR has practical applications for a variety of industries. By working with an augmented reality Florida company, you can tap into this cutting-edge technology to transform how your business interacts with customers and drives growth.
Tumblr media
According to AR market research, “The global AR market is expected to exceed $50 billion by 2024, showing its rapid growth and increasing influence across various industries.”
Well, let’s explore the many ways AR can benefit your business and why it’s a smart investment in Florida’s competitive market.
Benefits of Partnering with an Augmented Reality Company
Discover how partnering with an augmented reality (AR) company can transform your business. Let’s learn the key benefits of integrating AR technology, from enhancing customer engagement to improving brand experiences, and how it can give you a competitive edge in today's digital landscape:
Enhancing Customer Experience
One of the main reasons businesses use augmented reality in Florida is to improve the customer experience. AR creates interactive, immersive experiences that engage users in ways traditional methods can’t.
By blending the digital world with the physical, AR allows customers to visualize products, explore environments, and interact with brands in a more engaging and memorable way. AR creates a fun, hands-on experience that makes shopping more enjoyable and increases customer satisfaction.
Boosting Engagement and Brand Awareness
When your business uses cutting-edge technology like AR, it grabs people’s attention. AR is still a relatively new concept for many, so incorporating it into your business strategy can set you apart from competitors.
Whether you’re using AR in marketing campaigns, events, or product launches, it helps capture attention and create memorable experiences.
Increasing Sales and Reducing Returns
Augmented reality can directly impact your bottom line by boosting sales and reducing returns. For example, when customers can virtually try products before buying, they’re more likely to make informed decisions.
In industries like fashion or home decor, customers often hesitate because they’re unsure how a product will look in real life. AR eliminates this guesswork.
Improving Training and Education
Businesses that require employee training or education can benefit significantly from augmented reality. AR allows for interactive, hands-on training experiences without the need for real-world equipment or risks.
For example, medical professionals can practice surgeries using AR, or mechanics can learn to repair complex machines without physical tools.
Transforming Marketing Campaigns
If you’re looking for a way to take your marketing campaigns to the next level, AR is the solution. Augmented reality in Florida allows you to create interactive advertisements that people can engage with on their smartphones or tablets.
For example, you can create AR ads where users scan a QR code and watch a 3D model of your product come to life right in front of them.
Standing Out in the Florida Market
Florida is a dynamic and competitive market, and using AR can give your business a distinct advantage. As more industries in Florida adopt this technology, it’s essential to work with a local augmented reality Florida company that understands the needs and preferences of the state’s consumers.
These companies can tailor AR experiences to suit your business’s unique goals and the demands of Florida’s diverse population.
Conclusion
Augmented reality in Florida is more than just a trend—it’s a powerful tool that can transform how your business operates and engages with customers. From improving customer experiences and increasing sales to enhancing training programs and marketing efforts, AR offers countless benefits.
If you’re ready to explore how this technology can work for your business, consider partnering with an augmented reality Florida company.

Universal Orlando Confirms Three Super Nintendo World Rides, Including Jumping Donkey Kong Coaster
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Universal Orlando Resort has released a new video detailing what to expect at its Florida-based Super Nintendo World when it opens as a land in its Epic Universe theme park next year. In it, the company confirms the land will have three rides, including the Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness coaster that’s expected to open later this year in Osaka, Japan’s Super Nintendo World.
The video includes digital fly-overs of the park, showing viewers what it will look like when it opens next year. If you’ve seen Super Nintendo World in Japan, this park looks nearly identical, with both the Donkey Kong Country (and mine cart coaster) section and the Mushroom Kingdom with Peach’s Castle, Mt. Beanpole, the Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge augmented-reality ride and Yoshi’s Adventure dark ride.
Check it out for yourself in the new Super Nintendo World overview video below:
[embedded content]
As you can see, the Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness coaster will feature state-of-the-art track technology that allows it to create the illusion that riders will actually jump off the tracks, just like in the Donkey Kong Country games.
Like in Hollywood’s Super Nintendo World, which does not have the Yoshi’s Adventure ride or the Donkey Kong expansion as a result of space at the location, and Osaka’s Super Nintendo World, guests can purchase Power-Up Bands to play in interactive Key Challenges to earn coins and more. Plus, returning locations like the Toadstool Cafe restaurant and more will be at Orlando’s iteration of the park.
Here’s a look at some of the locations to expect when Universal Epic Universe opens next year:
For more details about the park, read Game Informer’s breakdown of everything coming to Epic Universe next year. After that, check out photos from our visit to Japan’s Super Nintendo World, and then watch this vlog of our day at the theme park.
Are you excited for Epic Universe and Orlando’s Super Nintendo World? Let us know in the comments below!

Humanity finds a way to ruin the moon and the cruelty of autonomous weapons
Week in Review: Oct 30th - Nov 5th
Welcome back! I'm slightly late this week, but happy to make it happen two weeks in a row.
Enjoy, and handle with care.

The AI Market is Firming Up Fast: Dbreunig.com; Drew Breunig
The AI market is becoming more competitive and challenging for new entrants as the requirements for building foundational AI models increase.
Breunig suggests that the AI market might be locked up by a few dominant players in a matter of months.
Note: Depending on whom you listen to, the recent wave of regulatory moves concerning AI may also be a big win for the early big-AI companies. The big companies can employ their armies of lawyers and compliance personnel to navigate regulatory hurdles in a way that smaller companies cannot.
India's lunar landing made a mess on the Moon – The Register; Laura Dobberstein
India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission, which landed on the Moon in August 2023, ejected and displaced over two tons of lunar dust in an area of over 100 square meters around the landing site.
The article notes that the dust disturbance could have implications for future lunar exploration and colonization, as it could affect the visibility, thermal environment, and surface chemistry of the moon.
Note: Who’s going to write this sci-fi novel: Humans turn the moon into a permanent dust cyclone in our attempts to exploit it?
NIST announces AI consortium to shape US policies – AI News; Ryan Daws
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has formed a new consortium to support the development of innovative methods for evaluating AI systems and improving their safety and trustworthiness.
The consortium is part of the new U.S. AI Safety Institute, which is a response to the recent executive order on AI.
Autonomous weapons are the moral choice – Atlantic Council; Thomas X. Hammes
Hammes argues that it is morally imperative for the United States and other democratic nations to develop, field, and use autonomous weapons, as they offer advantages in speed, efficiency, and accuracy over human-operated weapons.
Hammes refutes the arguments of the anti-autonomy coalition, which claims that autonomous weapons are immoral, unaccountable, and violate human dignity, by providing counterexamples and evidence from military ethics and law.
Note: What horseshit. Willfully ignorant of the reality that war is rarely between similarly equipped nation states anymore. How much more willing will states be to use military means to try to force obedience from disenfranchised peoples or weaker countries when they can tell their population only the ‘other’ will have to die? Appalling.
What next for Apple Silicon on Macs? – COMPUTERWORLD; Jonny Evans
Note: What will the computing landscape be like in 5 years with everything increasingly turning to ARM? Will Windows-powered machines with Qualcomm’s desktop chips see the same performance per watt as Apple's? What happens if Apple starts cranking up the TDP on the M-series to compete? I can’t wait to find out.
The future of AI hardware: Scientists unveil all-analog photoelectronic chip – Tech Xplore; Tejasir Gururaj
Researchers from Tsinghua University, China, have developed an all-analog photoelectronic chip that combines optical and electronic computing to achieve ultrafast and highly energy-efficient computer vision processing, surpassing digital processors.
The chip uses a diffractive neural network to extract information from high-resolution light fields.
Chip would be relevant for tasks such as facial recognition, object detection, and image segmentation, and could enable new applications in biometrics, security, and augmented reality.
The Solar-Panel Backlash Is Here – The Atlantic; Andrew Moseman
Some states are discouraging the use of solar panels, despite the growing demand and supply of clean energy in the country.
California and Florida have imposed fees, taxes, or caps on solar customers, or reduced the compensation they receive for sending excess power back to the grid, making solar panels less affordable and attractive.
These policies are driven by the interests of utility companies, which fear losing revenue and control over the power market, and by the challenges of integrating solar power into the existing grid infrastructure, which is not designed to handle variable and distributed energy sources.

Microsoft is improving its Xbox app for Windows handheld gaming PCs – The Verge; Tom Warren
Microsoft has started testing new updates to its Xbox app on Windows 11 that improve the experience on handheld devices and smaller screens, such as the Asus ROG Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go.
Note: My heart wants this form factor to be a thing. But history shows all: Windows mobile, windows touch for tablets (and Win 8?), whatever we’re calling Surface Duo… This must also fail.

The Landlord Tech Company That Turned Security Deposits Into a Monthly Fee – Motherboard; Matthew Gault
Rhino is a startup that offers to replace security deposits with monthly fees for renters, but also charges them more than they would get back from their landlords. It uses algorithms to determine the fees, which are based on factors such as credit score, income, and location, resulting in discrimination and inequality among renters.
Rhino is difficult to contact and cancel, and that it has partnered with landlords and lawmakers to make its service mandatory or preferred in some states, limiting renters’ choices and rights.

The Supreme Court seems stumped by two cases about free speech online – Vox; Ian Millhiser
Two cases are currently before the Supreme Court, O’Connor-Ratcliff v. Garnier and Lindke v. Freed, which involve government officials blocking constituents on social media platforms.
The cases raise questions about whether these platforms are public forums subject to the First Amendment, and whether the officials are acting in their official or personal capacities when they use them.
Justices are confused and divided on how to apply existing doctrines and precedents to the online context, and that they may avoid issuing a clear and comprehensive ruling on the issue.

Somebody Just Killed the Mozi Botnet - Dark Reading; Nate Nelson
The Mozi botnet, which infected Internet of Things devices and enabled distributed denial-of-service attacks and data exfiltration, was deactivated by a kill switch update in August 2023.
Nelson speculates that the update was either distributed by the original authors of the botnet or by the Chinese law enforcement, who arrested them in 2021.
The demise of the Mozi botnet could reduce the threat to the privacy and security of IoT device owners, but other botnets could emerge to fill the gap.

Magic Leap 2 Gains Certification so Doctors Can Use AR During Surgery
Magic Leap, the storied unicorn developing enterprise AR headsets, announced at CES 2023 that its flagship device Magic Leap 2 earned a certification that clears it for use in the operating room.
The company first intimated it had pursued IEC 60601-1 certification at SPIE’s XR conference in January 2022, however the news largely went unreported since the information was presented in a single slide at the conference.
At AMD’s CES 2023 keynote, Magic Leap CEO Peggy Johnson confirmed Magic Leap 2 has indeed obtained IEC 60601-1 certification for its flagship AR headset.
As explained by TÜV Rheinland, the IEC 60601-1 certification specifies a device that is “intended to diagnose, treat, or monitor a patient under medical supervision and, which makes physical or electrical contact with the patient and/or transfers energy to or from the patient and/or detects such an energy transfer to or from the patient.”
Magic Leap says this certification allows Magic Leap 2 to be used both in an operating room as well as in other clinical settings, allowing medical professionals such as surgeons to focus on the patient and not have to refer to 2D screens.
By and large, this gives software developers a non-inconsequential inroad into gaining FDA certification for apps that could be used during surgery, and not just for pre-surgical training.
One such Magic Leap partner, SentiAR, is currently under review by the FDA for its app which connects physicians to live clinical data and images, allowing them do operations such as navigating a catheter through blood vessels of the heart using a 3D map of a patient’s heart and the location of the catheter in real time.
youtube
Founded in 2010, the Plantation, Florida-based company initially exited the gate with consumer ambitions for its first AR headset, Magic Leap 1 (previously styled ‘One’). After awkwardly straddling the segment with its $2,300 AR headset, the company made a decisive pivot in mid-2020 when CEO and co-founder Rony Abovitz announced he would be stepping down as CEO, positioning the company to reprioritize its future devices away from consumers. It has since released Magic Leap 2, which is largely targeted at enterprise.
The well-funded company, which has amassed $4 billion in lifetime funds to date, has recently taken on $450 million from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, giving the country a majority share in the US-based augmented reality company.

Hey Mr. ENTJ, I read that you have a brother and a sister-in-law so curiously I'd like to know: did your brother (ISTJ as I recall) and her (unsure of her type) pick the same route as yourself in taking the business track? Did you use MBTI to help him find their path and were you surprised by that? I cannot stress how valuable this blog has been to finding my own way and I wish your family well during these times!
Combined with the following asks:
Weird question but do you have a nickname for your younger brother the ISTJ? :O
Your sister-in-law is desi! What part of India is her family from if you don’t mind me asking?
He picked a completely different path. My younger brother, the ISTJ, majored in Computer Science and minored in Mathematics. He’s somewhat of a software engineering genius and currently at another BigTech company. He formerly worked in R&D for Apple as the sixth youngest engineer in their company’s history at the age of 18 and helped create the AirPods, HomePod, and CarPlay system. Yes, I helped him with his career planning and used MBTI as part of the exploration process. His career choice aligns with the trends that I’ve observed but, again, MBTI doesn’t determine careers– it defines thought processes.
The only appropriate nickname for an ISTJ is cutie patootie, there are no other options.
My sister-in-law, the ISTP, is also somewhat of a software engineering genius. She majored in Electrical Engineering at an ivy league university in New York and was a STEM grand champion in Florida. She currently works at another BigTech company in augmented reality and virtual reality. Her family is from South India but I’m unsure of the exact area. All I know is that their wedding is going to be in the Maldives and I am ready to disappear here once everything quiets down:

Until recently, Hoan Ton-That’s greatest hits included an obscure iPhone game and an app that let people put Donald Trump’s distinctive yellow hair on their own photos.
Then Mr. Ton-That — an Australian techie and onetime model — did something momentous: He invented a tool that could end your ability to walk down the street anonymously, and provided it to hundreds of law enforcement agencies, ranging from local cops in Florida to the F.B.I. and the Department of Homeland Security.
His tiny company, Clearview AI, devised a groundbreaking facial recognition app. You take a picture of a person, upload it and get to see public photos of that person, along with links to where those photos appeared. The system — whose backbone is a database of more than three billion images that Clearview claims to have scraped from Facebook, YouTube, Venmo and millions of other websites — goes far beyond anything ever constructed by the United States government or Silicon Valley giants.
Federal and state law enforcement officers said that while they had only limited knowledge of how Clearview works and who is behind it, they had used its app to help solve shoplifting, identity theft, credit card fraud, murder and child sexual exploitation cases.
Until now, technology that readily identifies everyone based on his or her face has been taboo because of its radical erosion of privacy. Tech companies capable of releasing such a tool have refrained from doing so; in 2011, Google’s chairman at the time said it was the one technology the company had held back because it could be used “in a very bad way.” Some large cities, including San Francisco, have barred police from using facial recognition technology.
But without public scrutiny, more than 600 law enforcement agencies have started using Clearview in the past year, according to the company, which declined to provide a list. The computer code underlying its app, analyzed by The New York Times, includes programming language to pair it with augmented-reality glasses; users would potentially be able to identify every person they saw. The tool could identify activists at a protest or an attractive stranger on the subway, revealing not just their names but where they lived, what they did and whom they knew.
And it’s not just law enforcement: Clearview has also licensed the app to at least a handful of companies for security purposes.
“The weaponization possibilities of this are endless,” said Eric Goldman, co-director of the High Tech Law Institute at Santa Clara University. “Imagine a rogue law enforcement officer who wants to stalk potential romantic partners, or a foreign government using this to dig up secrets about people to blackmail them or throw them in jail.”
Facial recognition technology has always been controversial. It makes people nervous about Big Brother. It has a tendency to deliver false matches for certain groups, like people of color. And some facial recognition products used by the police — including Clearview’s — haven’t been vetted by independent experts.
Clearview’s app carries extra risks because law enforcement agencies are uploading sensitive photos to the servers of a company whose ability to protect its data is untested.
...
“It’s creepy what they’re doing, but there will be many more of these companies. There is no monopoly on math,” said Al Gidari, a privacy professor at Stanford Law School. “Absent a very strong federal privacy law, we’re all screwed.”
Mr. Ton-That said his company used only publicly available images. If you change a privacy setting in Facebook so that search engines can’t link to your profile, your Facebook photos won’t be included in the database, he said.
But if your profile has already been scraped, it is too late. The company keeps all the images it has scraped even if they are later deleted or taken down, though Mr. Ton-That said the company was working on a tool that would let people request that images be removed if they had been taken down from the website of origin.
Woodrow Hartzog, a professor of law and computer science at Northeastern University in Boston, sees Clearview as the latest proof that facial recognition should be banned in the United States.

“We’ve relied on industry efforts to self-police and not embrace such a risky technology, but now those dams are breaking because there is so much money on the table,” Mr. Hartzog said. “I don’t see a future where we harness the benefits of face recognition technology without the crippling abuse of the surveillance that comes with it. The only way to stop it is to ban it.”
