no one seems to like my take on little shop of horrors :(

audrey ii did nothing wrong. like yeah she ate people and manipulated seymour but a grown man should know better than to listen to a talking plant especially when it wants to eat people.

seymour asked twoey if the blood had to be human and never got a response but instead of asking again like a rational person he just kinda…resorted to murder. while he didn’t kill orin directly, he was planning on it and just sat and watched as he asphyxiated. he then chopped him up and fed him to a plant??? sir the first thing you should’ve done when you found out the thing wanted blood at all would be burn it.

seymour tricked mushnik into being eaten by the plant knowing full well what would happen when he got close enough. this death was intentional on seymour’s part.

while it is shown that he is conflicted about his actions, seymour never takes any actual steps to reverse the mess he made. he drags himself further and further in until he’s led to the death of pretty much everyone he knows, including himself. there is the argument of “audrey ii was manipulating seymour the whole time” and yes, she was, but also i think that she was just trying to get food in order to survive. who are we to judge what another species eats and how it catches its prey? should humans be the ones policing every creature’s diets or should they control themselves and avoid world domination by plant?

i cannot possibly understand why Audrey II was only fed human blood. Like I get it, got end humanity and all that, but the only differences between human blood and animal blood is that:

In humans the RBC is enucleated whereas RBC of birds and many animals are nucleated.

Some animals have blood types that humans do not possess. (So maybe Audrey II can’t have certain blood types that animals can have????)

Humans have a closed and complete blood vessel system, whereas some animals have open and/or incomplete blood systems.

and somewhere I read that human blood has less Vitamin C.

I have no idea if that would mean anything or point to a reason why Audrey II might aim for human blood but oh well. Also this was a few minutes of google searching so if anyone’s got any ideas
