Auđn - Farvegir Fyrndar - Album Review
Auđn – Farvegir Fyrndar – Album Review
Artist: Auđn
Album Title: Farvegir Fyrndar
Label: Season of Mist
Date Of Release: 10 November 2017
I’ll admit it: I’m biased. But whenever I hear that a new band originates from Iceland, I sit up and take notice. For many reasons, which I won’t bore you with here (but I will here), I have an affinity with the dramatically beautiful island from the far north. I also have a huge soft spot for the…

Auðn - Farvegir fyrndar (November 10th, 2017)
“Iceland's AUĐN return with their brand-new album 'Farvegir Fyrndar'. AUĐN are a prime example of the power and atmosphere of Iceland's booming black metal scene. Moving and evocative, album opener "Veröld Hulin" shows a masterful command of elegant melody as they build intensity steadily towards the epic closer "Í Hálmstráið Held", where total ferocity clashes with teeth-gnashing grit. 'Farvegir Fyrndar' is a lush and elegant blast of grand Icelandic black metal, proving that AUĐN stand on their own while being one of the leaders in the burgeoning movement.”

AUĐN -„Farvegir Fyrndar“ By Blekinge
Точно преди три години излезе дебютният албум на една от най-обещаващите underground метъл групи в момента. Спомням си, че попаднах случайно на тях и имаха неповече от 15-20 гледания в youtube. December 20, 2017 at 08:45PM via Metal Hangar 18 http://ift.tt/2kS7V2V

@child-of-leviathan and @angels-holocaust tagged me to list 10 songs/bands that I was digging Rn (thanks fam 😊) Sorry this took so long to do..I love music tags, but because I am so passionate about music I tend to be extra about it, so of Im going to do the thing, I might as well do it right. Ask me tomorrow what 10 bands, songs or albums I'm loving and it will more than likely all change..but here's my current list...
1. Tribulation: The Lament
Trib is quite literally my favorite band. I feel as if they have been with me forever..their music mean that much to me. I have been waiting for the next album drop for what feels like ages, and knowing my boys tend to be internet silent, I have only this song to last me until Mid Jan. I'm not madt all.
2. Ne Obliviscaris: Forget Not
Probably by far one of the most beautiful songs I have heard about loss and mourning. As they say, a lament of sorts. As far as a song goes that takes from their namesake, I feel the measure and evocative nature of this song, as well as the passion in the dueling vocals (the interplay of clean vs dirty, overlapping lyrics that create a sense of powerful emotion) is a prime example of NeO and fits them perfectly.
3. Skeletonwitch: Clever of Souls
A few months back, I had discovered an amazing Finnish Thrash band, Lost Society at a show. Those boys stole my heart from the start and since then, they have helped unleash a new found love for Thrash for me: Municiple Waste, Toxic Holocaust, Kreator, Testament, Sodom..and some lovely Crossover Thrash Bands, Skeletonwitch being one of them. Funny thing..they (Skeletonwitch) toured with my boys Trib, but it took LXSX to get me to listen. I am glad I did.
4. Witchery: Nosferatu
Another Crossover Thrash Band, this one being Blackened Thrash, I love the melodic riffs mixed with the heavy grind. Deffinitly a favorite.
5. Drudkh: Twilight Aureole
Talk about guitar riffs that take you away, I am heavily swayed by guitar. Makes sense, seeing as how I play..any rythem that takes my mind away is top in my book and Drudkh is a key example of that. I quite enjoyed the work they did with Neige. It's hard to pick a favorite here, but I enjoy this album so will go with this lol
6. Skaur: Skillingsvisa
Tumblr is amazing at introducing you to music you would have never listened to before, or knew how to find. For the most part I try to do that as well (despite the spam) and Skaur is a prime example of one of those bands. Beautiful black/ambient metal that I look forward to digging into more in the future.
7. In Mourning: Colossus
Progressive/Goth Metal that I'm on the cusp of being obsessed about. Again..It's all about those guitars. This song was the first I heard and only the God's know what rabbit trail I was on when I found them, but I'm here sharing them with you lovely people so you don't have to dig like I did lol
8. Auđn: Skuggar
There are a few I could list here, but again, I will go woth this one lol. Atmospheric Black Metal from Iceland..I have no idea what they are saying but I'm woth you all the way fam. Horns up.
9. Oranssi Pazuzu: Värähtelijä
Psychedelic Metal, Black Metal, Space Rock, Progressive Metal..whateve r you want you call it..these Finns know what's up. First discovered on a dig I tucked them away until later, wshen I was recommended them from another blogger. Deffinitly a unique band that is in fave list
10. Sólstafir: Fjara
Oh Iceland..how I love the way you rock. I *think* this may be my favorite album..but I really don't know..Sól just has so many good ones..I really need to start learning a shit load of languages though...
Sorry all that was long and mildly pretentious lol. Nobody has to be as extra as me lol, but if you feel like sharing I tag @blueboybassist @lord-ov-the-blackened-svn @feathers-andflesh @haunterrr @lysergic-saturnine-desert @metalhat and anyone that has some awesome songs they want to share, or even if you thing I should check out the band..tag me I'd love to hear it!!!
