MOB PSYCHO 100 WARRIOR CATS AU WHOOOOOO

I've been chugging along at these designs for ages and I am so proud of them and stoked to finally share them AA if you have any questions FEEL FREE to ask me I have been plotting and drawing this au so much (have many things still in the works to post!!)

AU Summary: A Long time ago a strange interloper claiming to be a Starclan warrior took over the clan (Dimple/Mosswish). He gave them a prophecy from the ancient times of a cat that would one day be destined to take his place as the True leader of the clan.

Years later, a stray (Reigen/Weaselflight) found two kittens (Mob & Ritsu/Sproutmask & Thistlestrike) abandoned in the trash and took them in. If anyone asked he would claim it was just so that he wouldn't have anyone's death on his conscience but nobody ever asked. He staked out a human neighborhood and left them on the doorstep and once he saw them get taken in went off on his way.

Almost a year after that Sprout and Thistle have no memories of the cat who saved them and they have both grown. Sprout is constantly wondering what lies beyond his yard.

He befriends a stay who just came back to town named Weasel that seems oddly familiar, who's been mentoring Sprout on the ways of the Clan. He uses Weasel's "true" stories as a springboard for all the things he wants to do someday and tells his brother all about (Thistle hides his concern about that) But there are clan cats who have been watching them convinced Sprout is the one chosen by Starclan to help them.

Eventually they come to him, offering him anything he wants if he will join them, permanently.

design and name notes under the cut!

First off: I started on these BEFORE the fursona plush actually ever got announced but about mid-way through plotting all this They Happened and I knew I could not use any aspect of them for these designs so if u want to know why they don't look like those. that's why. I ardently refused to use those designs. I love them!!! I have fanart in the works of them, but they're not part of this.

Mob - he was the first character I drew and the base off of which I drew everyone else because he's the default. He's the glass of water, the firestar, the plain chip, the True Neutral of design.

He was also the last one i colored and actually finished a design for LMAO. When it came to his name I knew I wanted -mask as his suffix because of the fact he is the most autistic character I have ever seen in my life (I am a professional autist, I know my own) and he is absolutely masking 95% of the time before the confession arc. I was stuck on what his suffix could be though, but my friend @cellulr suggested broccoli as a name and I remembered that OH YEAH he can make plants grow, which is how I got to Sprout, also it just sounds cute. He's a growing little sprout, it works.

Reigen - My design is very specifically based on the Least Weasel. I do not subscribe to fox headcanons under any circumstances. I don't care what reason people have for them he's not a fox. He's literally the quote "weaseling out of things is important to learn! It's what separates us from the animals...except the weasel." incarnate.

His name was the easiest one for me. He's a weasel, he loves to get out of Situations, Weaselflight. It's a winner.

Serizawa - He's a calico :3c I made him a calico because it matched the color palette of his pajamas and I just love his pajamas look because the blue suit is............kind of boring sorry <3.

I was really stuck on what to name him but i found out on the wiki that the zawa kanji of his name means Marsh and I really fell in love with that. -whisper was based on him being kinda shy when he first joins the clans but just like in actual canon he gets braver but is still a big gentle giant type guy

Dimple - I don't believe in realistic cat genetics for warrior cats content, these are a bunch of strays in the woods who have organized religion and superpowers. The cats can be green if I make them green. So Dimple's design was translated pretty literally but I made him very short and rounder than everyone else. And I gave him the same nicked ear that the claw security guard people draw him with/as all the time has. Also he's short and people keep thinking he's an apprentice I think that was a funny part of Scourge nobody used.

If you want to get realistic or something you could say maybe Dimple being green was proof enough to the clans he's otherworldly and therefore totally a real starclan warrior. His suffix Moss is pretty obvious but -wish has an in and out of universe explanation. In-universe it's about his own wishes of being important (godly perhaps?). Out of universe it's a reference to my favorite old timey warrior cats fansite warriors wish.

Teru - okay I will admit this is the only design that's loosely based on some fursona art. I saw art of him as a Pomeranian with the rest of the gang and I was obsessed I could not let him be a cat. He is a full respected warrior of the clan though do Not make any comments about him being a dog unless you wanna get killed. I love warriors aus or fanclans where non-cats are part of the clan too I think adding other animals adds a lot of fun elements to the world. In another clan of mine there's a pig. Reject canon. Add more animals to the clans.

As for his name I thought about naming giving him the Star prefix just to be annoying but theres certain lines I won't cross and that's one. So he's Suntuft. the -tuft is because he's a big fluffy dog lots of fur.

Toichirou - So like...in terms of structure Claw is basically just Bloodclan and guy who shows up out of nowhere with a huge army at the last second w/ plans to take over the world (forest)? that's so Scourge coded. Why does he have a clan name though? Secret For Later >:3c

In terms of design he's literally just a taller pointier Mob now in Red. Why he has the -claw suffix should be pretty obvious and I know in the anime his hair isnt quite red but i remembered it being pretty red when I was designing and Shou has red hair (im getting to him dw) so...red. I also thought it would be diabolical to give him the same name as the canon hero of the actual warriors books.

so i wanna analyze the odds of cecil actually winning

heres the current numbers (as of ~4:40pm eastern, 8 hours before the semifinal polls end)

sans v onceler ~53k votes

sans 67% (35.5k)

onceler 33% (17.5k)

cecil v reigen ~89.5k votes

cecil 55% (49.2k)

reigen 45% (40.3k)

so it looks like it’ll be Cecil vs Sans. an incredible battle, i cant wait to see the art people make. Sans is a very formidable opponent, however at this time Cecil actually has 13k more raw votes, despite leading by a far lower margin in his semifinal. so if you look at just that, then cecil would win.

HOWEVER we have to factor in the votes of the semifinal losers! how will the reigen and onceler voters choose? if they all go for sans, then thats it for cecil. but i dont think it’ll shake out quite so simply.

i think a lot of the reigen fans will vote sans, both out of solidarity for him being the previous winner and out of revenge against the radio host who brought down their champion. but, a lot of reigen’s votes came more just not knowing who cecil even is. many of those people will probably also vote sans, but i think a chunk of them will have learned who Mr Palmer is and can be convinced to back him in the finals. im gonna give it an 80/20 split (this number is pulled out of my ass)

as for onceler fans, i’m less sure. the onceler shares qualities with both sans and cecil. arguably the onceler is the blueprint for sans’s bizarre amount of AU version, but the onceler is also a much more classic sexyman like Cecil. and cecil is easier to fit into a onceler-shaped body type. in my opinion, i think many onceler fans will go for cecil, but some will also flip with sans. i give it a 75/25 split (again this comes entirely from my ass)

so now let’s take my ass numbers and calculate what i think may happen with the final poll. i know this isnt the most statistically sound method cause i havent accounted for the fact that most people voted in both polls (for example i voted for both sans and cecil) but fuck you thats too much math im an art major and this is a silly internet thing lmao

sans: 35,510 (original) + 32,220 (from reigen) + 4,373 (from onceler) = 72,103

cecil: 49,225 (original) + 8,044 (from reigen) + 13,118 (from onceler) = 70,387

my ass-pulled guestimates have it as sans 50.6%, cecil 49.4%. however i expect the final poll to blow up big time, so there will be many people who didn't vote earlier that'll weigh in.

in conclusion i think it is absolutely possible for cecil to win, but it'll be a difficult fight where he's the underdog. i cant wait!

Hey 2010-2013 tumblr residents who have never left, I don’t have the poll function on this blog but as one of you, I would like us to gather ‘round and discuss something. I know the Onceler gets the title for the first documented tumblr sexy man, but given the chokehold Cecil Gershwin Palmer has had on here as a whole these last 11 years & his debut coinciding alongside the Onceler fandom domination, would it be more accurate to call him the standard?

I know I sound like I’m speaking blasphemy but hear me out. Many of the base line traits past winners of the tumblr sexy men generally have are actually closer to Cecil’s canon outfits, hair style, power scaling, sass, & personality as a whole (especially in fan works). And, tbh, past polls staff made went by most used tags at the time rather than long term lasting impact (which is one of the many reasons why Sans has been a power house for several years now despite the very obvious lull in Undertale fandom activity). If Onceler was truly the standard, Sans would have never qualified on the grounds of a lot of people want to fuck him as a skeleton rather than as a human & Reigen doesn’t have nearly as many aus to qualify in comparison to the majority of his past competitors. Furthermore a sexyman is supposed to be evil OR have a unique trait, which the Onceler doesn’t even meet because his power of being big oil is temporary & he guilt’s himself out of evil. And no- playing guitar isn’t unique when you think about all past winners; Sans and Reigen could sing and play the guitar but the Onceler can’t throw hands without needing money to hire people to do it for him. If you make Cecil the standard, there is no contradiction nor issue with the rules.

Anyways everyone chew it over, doubly those of us who could qualify for a veteran’s discount, because the new polling system made me realize staff kinda ignored Cecil & many other men properly for a while now on the grounds of trending popularity within the prior year instead of the actual requirements a character has to meet under the “Onceler” standards. And shout out to all the Onceler fans- sorry if I made you mad with this but we’ve needed to all collectively reconsider what the winners are actually referencing for a while now.

Actual First Impressions: HakuMyu LIVE 2, Act 2!!

In much the same fashion as last night.

INTERMISSION – Yazaki Hiroshi is frickin adorable, enough said. Best Hijikata. They’re showing clips of his time in the spotlight and it’s really cute and he’s really cute anD IS THIS REALLY—

Reigen na Hitomi – YESSSS OH MY GOD YAZAKI-SAN SOUNDS GREAT IT’S EVEN BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL probably because he’s just hanging out not in a costume under stage lights doing any physical activity oh my heaven an angel in a purple yukata has descended before me and he’s so adorkable what a wonderful way to indulge the fans while giving the main cast a break and

[Interlude] – SPEAKING OF WHICH THEY’RE BACK IN WESTERN WEAR but… they’re actually furies… they didn’t do that for the last LIVE. I’m pretty sure Souji is talking to Yazaki-san like he’s Hijikata and completely ignoring Matsuda Gaku in full costume behind him. also trying to sing a part of “Shinsengu Tanjō” with him but Yazaki-san doesn’t know it as well hahaha AND GAKU-SAN IS JUST STARING THEM DOWN TRYING NOT TO SMILE OK OH MY FUCK KONDOU IS ADORABLE HE’S LIKE PATTING DOWN YAZAKI-SAN TO MAKE SURE HE’S REAL also now I think they’re arguing over which one is the ‘real’ Hijikata and here comes Shiranui with his watermelon ball (to settle the dispute I guess?) and apparently Yazaki-san is declared the winner as well he should be since he’s using actual volleyball technique hahaha THIS IS FUCKING PRICELESS HE’S GOT SUCH A HUGE GRIN WHAT A DORK and I can just tell Yazaki-san is saying some super awesome things about HakuMyu and Matsuda Gaku and stuff what a sweetheart

Opening ~ Dainimaku ~ Makoto no Hata – ok Yazaki-san might have said some probably nice things about Gaku-san but please do not cover his work even if there’s a part added, please, he will always have done better than you please stick to songs from the new run WAIT WHAT HOLY SHIT IS THIS THE BEGINNING OF OKITA’S MUSICAL I HEAR

PAINT IT BLOOD – IT FUCKING IS BUT ARAMAKI-SAN CAN FOLLOW DAISUKE MARGINALLY BETTER SO I’M MORE OK WITH IT also possibly because I love this song. even if I don’t get why he and Saito are sparring now. oh and there’s Ryunosuke, acting out the end of his anime, which has got to be my favorite scene. and here’s Yamazaki, looking mortally offended that Okita would threaten his boyfriend, because only he is allowed to do that. gods help me for starting to understand this ship

Kawaranaimono – …oh no. oh no are they going to have Hashimoto-san sing Kawaranaimono when his voice is so much rougher than Ryo-san’s. please no he does not have the finesse. oh no please no stop objectively this isn’t terrible but I’ve heard so much better and yeah he hits the notes ok but no this isn’t supposed to happen this is Ryo-san’s song please do not with this. also why have Chizuru there if she’s not gonna sing with him, I mean really. also his face is p shiny but Still Not as Sweaty as Ryo-san™ thankfully

?!?!?!?! – that’s Harada’s voice but… uh what is this? it sounds Latin and I don’t recognize it at all but I could dance to this and [MIND GOES ABRUPTLY BLANK AS HE FUCKIN FEELS HIMSELF UP] …uh they better keep this in his musical (though I can’t think why they’d take it out) it’s such a wonderful piece oh my GOD thank the heavens for this Harada and his powerful voice and how he’s like a head and a half taller than everyone in the audience, I will kneel and give thanks if you know what I mean holy shit HE WORKS THAT SPEAR LIKE KAZAMA WORKED HIS MIC IN THE ORIGINAL LIVE *applauds as song ends… along with Kazama, oh I guess this was the context for his new medley*

[RELUCTANTLY SKIPS AHEAD TO] Jōran Shiai ~ Asagi-iro no Kakugo [2] => Yume no Hate – ah excellent I love this piece and its gorgeous guitar. I’d love it better if they didn’t cut the intro short and have Hijikata sing alone at first, even if the others join him—he just can’t hold his own in a solo. also damn Nagakura looks good, he just doesn’t sound right. OH NO PLEASE NOT THIS ONE, KAZAMA-HEN ALREADY DID THE BEST YOU CAN POSSIBLY DO WITH THIS, PLEASE DON’T RUIN IT A SECOND TIME, WATCHING IT IN SHINSENGUMI KITAN WAS BAD ENOUGH but hey, at least Yamazaki gets a verse, even if Yazaki-san’s solo over the chorus beats the pants off Gaku-san’s.

……… – THE FINALE APPROACHETH?! ohhhhh no. oh nooooo. this is going to hurt me, isn’t it. but first, the shippy bit. I do think their little love theme is better than Hijikata and Chizuru’s from Hijikata-hen and the first LIVE; at the very least, it gets stuck in my head a hell of a lot more often. honestly, A+ on the staging and music and everything. (also even if I’m going to hurt in about 30 seconds I could watch Suzuki Shogo climb stairs forever in that jacket, just saying.) and my adoration of the way this version of the final battle is done remains, even if the set is a little less elaborate than in Shinsengumi Kitan; they bring Yaisa! into it, but clear the stage instead of leaving it crowded. speaking of which nO SHOGO-SAN DON’T CRY PLEASE DON’T CRY YOU’RE ACTUALLY KILLING ME HOLY FUCK THAT LITTLE ADDED MOMENT WITH CATCHING THE CHERRY PETAL AT THE END NOOOOOOOO

whatever comes after that – KAZAMA IS DEAD, WHY DO I CARE. but I am curious, without Amagiri, who’s going to save Chizuru when the humans come for her. or… I guess they’re not coming after her this time? although I do hear Amagiri’s theme. (too bad, I wanted Shiranui to save her à la my semi-AU route.) also, if this song showed up in Shinsengumi Kitan, I was too destroyed by the final battle to realize that it’s actually a good one. also, the Shinsengumi bestowing their haori on Hijikata will never be as sad as in Kazama-hen, sorry guys, you sing nice but this is much too triumphant for a bunch of dead guys. ALSO SHOGO-SAN HONEY NO NEVER MIND THIS IS THE SADDEST THING EVER HE’S STILL CRYING OH MY FUCK NO MY FEELINGS WERE NOT READY FOR THIS

Yaisa! Yaisa! Yaisa! (Reprise) – bouncy as ever, I see; nothing like the instrumentation on the actual version of Yaisa! they did. but there’s like half an hour left; I wonder what they’ll do with it? …ah, looks like the same thing as in the original. repeat-after-me. also are the idiot trio fuckin dabbing like it’s only endearing when they do it haha aLSO NO FUCK THIS YOU ARE NOT MAKING ME SHIP THIS YOU ARE NOT MAKING ME SHIP RYUNOSUKE/YAMAZAKI STOP YOUR LOVERS’ QUARREL STOP PRACTICALLY HOLDING HANDS WHILE ARGUING OH MY GOD also hi Kazama are you ok? seems like he’s doing better, maybe my heart will recover after all. also wow I completely forgot Serizawa was even in this till I saw him in the audience just now hahaha and OMIGOD EVERYONE IS SO CUTE

Endnotes: My reaction is mixed, obviously, but mostly it was awesome. There were a couple purist moments where I was like “THE ORIGINAL CAST SANG THIS BETTER”, but ya know, that’s just kinda how I am, so it’s incredibly biased and subjective. I really love the energy level in this, tbfh. Like, the first LIVE was great, but everyone in this is just having such a wonderful time and it shows, and the audience is a lot more involved too. Basically, 10/10 would definitely recommend. I rank it much higher than either Reimeiroku or Shinsengumi Kitan.
