Third day in Georgia!❤️🇬🇪

Leaving Tbilisi (I'll be missing😔) on the way to another region of Georgia

Gere's Mtscheta, the first capital of Georgia (and some souvenirs I bought😅)

...and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtscheta.

Probably nowhere else in the worlds you can find depiction of zodiac signs inside the church!

Can there be something more cool than georgian letters from medieval times?

Traditional georgian cemetery - each family fence their graves separately

Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town

Gori and museum of Stalin, with his private train and a little hut in which he was born (like some damn "stable in Bethlehem"...🤦)

The room about his crimes is small and generally more abt Russia than abt Stalin

I wanted not to spend and money on memory of one of the evilest persons in human history😑 But there is nothing else that would bring tourists to Gori otherwise - thanks to the museum many ppl have their jobs... We left some money buying a hot bread - (the one "to die for" in ATWD❤️ Also the next thing that my subconscience made me buy was a drink that turned out to be... a salt-carmel milkshake😆 it was really good😋)

There's ton of dogs in Georgia, they're literally everywhere. All marked to be vaccinated against rabies (but not neutered bc it is said to be... "unnatural". Sure, hungry dogs having hungry puppies is so damn natural...) To these two on the left we could only give our day-old leftover khinkali and khachapuri. The one on the right is in Kutaisi - you pet the dog and he'll walk along with you and bark at cars for you😭

And now my statement is:

Merab and Irakli dancing kintouri for the first time together was the closest thing to marriage there could have been!

They are now officially told: from now on you will not be one against the other but mutuals.

A ritual of same gestures made simultaneusly

Every move mirrored like repeating a marriage vow

Not to mention so many moves resemble a Ritual Marriage Dance of Cranes! (check it out if you don't believe me! And yeah, I know it's kintouri - but I've seen what I've seen)

And how they do it:

Look how Merab is trying to take it seriously - more seriously than anything before - yet he's overtaken by the joy that he neither can nor wants to supress. I don't think he would look any different getting married with his beloved.

It's that one time Aleko doesn't interrupt the dance, even seeing the imprerfections - probably studying their interactions and maybe even ready to allow some deviations for sake of the "light natured" dance?

All in all it's a profound moment - not even by a dance itself - but by the fact it's an act of confirmation that they are partners. Dance partners officially.

And from now on in their conservative society thay can actually spend time together: That's alright, you know, we're dance partners! Oh, don't you bother how close we are - that's just natural because we dance together!

And so they keep on dancing whenever they could: dancing their dance, the kintouri dance no matter if it's on the streets or on the birthday party, no matter if it's to traditional doli drums or to ABBA song...

And Then We Danced

That was another part of my #ATWD kintouri trail (and #my ATWD issues BTW). I already analysed HERE why is kintouri so important in the movie, then HERE how it may put a little different light on Luka and Davit relationship and also HERE how it gives more depth to characters' nonverbal dialog. And HERE what might Aleko's thinking process be to join our boys)

Drunk Irakli rushes at Merab with the most straightforward dog-like enthusiasm...

...accidentally revealing how Merab's shocked and puzzled expression makes his face look cuter than ever 😋

Do I have to say how much I adore this scene (among so many others that is)? Like: this is supposed to be your rival and that is supposed to be his... apologetic smile?😆 Like WTF is going on here, what was he thinking!?🙈 Drunk Irakli is such a dog!🤣

Another fanart of AND THEN WE DANCED / და ჩვენ ვიცეკვეთ (2019) dir. Levan Akin. I am planning to draw oh so much more ambitious ATWD fanarts but meanwhile this happened🤷 I recently finished with my #bird version ATWD fanarts and I don't think this thing starting any new series but... who knows? Here is Merab and Irakli as cats.

What, are normal people not compulsively doing zoomorphic fanarts of their blorbos? Well then "normal" people are sure missing all the fun!😉

Another zoomorphic ATWD fanart: after depicting Merab and Irakli as dogs I simply had to show them as cuddling kitties as well. Now just imagine all that paw kneading, slow blinking and mutual grooming going on🥰 And of course the purring: one resembling a growl and the other high-pitched to the sound of a chirp... And let them snuggle like this for a while. Let them hug like this forever❤❤❤

*I could not find what an actual "purr" sound is in georgian, only that "purring" is "კრუტუნი".
