i’ll do a top three lol

my fave character in the whole series was hange :””) i lovveeddd them from the very beginning when i watched aot s1 in 2013 so its been a decade long love ✋🏼😩 i cried so hard during s4 pt3 :””) but yeee i just adore the nerdy scientific characters that aren’t scared of the imminent threat of the verse but rather intrigued and curious to almost a point of insanity lol. but i think the hange scene i loved the most was during midnight sun (BEST AOT EP EVER I’LL DIE ON THIS HILL) is when mikasa is terrified of armin not being the one they bring back to life n hange says something like “there are people that i wish i could bring back too” 😭😭 idk that scene hit me rly hard n really quantified the amt of loss in aot i think

my second save character is reiner >:3 bc he’s so babygirl n i wanna make him my housewife. LOL jk naw but i HATED that man s2-s3 bc his whole multiple personality thing was such bullshit like 🙄 ok so you’ve killed sm of my fave characters but you’re still acting like a good guy??? go fuck yourself dude. BUT i started to get intrigued by his character when he was so committed to giving ymir’s letter to christa during shiganshina arc in s3 pt2…and then s4 rolled around and i fell IN LOVE W HIM. he was the only marleyan side warrior eldian that showed the right amount of remorse for what they did on paradis island, and although his backstory is so sad n its obv not his fault he was groomed into a war machine at such a young age, it was nice that isayama made him so guilty to the point of suicidal ideation. and he pulled THROUGGGH during the finale omg the scene where jean held onto him and said he is also a scout☝🏼😭 fuck yeah. also i’d like to impregnate him

my third fave character UUGHHH ITS TOO HARD THERES SO MANY but honestly i just have to say eren. i have soooo many mixed opinions ab eren’s character i could talk ab his character for HOURRSS but s1-3 eren was my BABY. my SON. MY SUGAR PLUM PUMPY UMPY UMPKIN. i mean he was pretty generic shonen protagonist coded lol but he was just such a sweetheart that was so hotheaded n determined to take care of the ppl he loved. it was always so easy to empathize w him on so many fronts n i love characters like that. however his character took an interesting turn in s4, and although i don’t agree w his actions in s4, i can’t say i didn’t want to see him succeed either…super weird, i still don’t quite know how to feel ab the events of the rumbling (i mean i err on the side of it was incredibly evil of him) but the fact there’s sm nuance to his character, regardless of whether i agree w him or not, means he’s one of my faves (we dont talk ab his character in the ending though. shhh. to me aot ends s4 ep28…sorry)

I usually don't really post on tumblr — I'm more of a reader/stalker lmao — but I decided to do so today because a great chapter of my life ended :)

I want to talk about the final chapter of AOT, put some of my thoughts down here and eventually discuss the chapter with everyone that is willing to do so ;))

Everything down there is full spoilers so beware!!

SPOILER ATTACK ON TITAN CHAPTER 139

Okay I will first talk about the eremin talk (I'll talk about the other stuff later) :

- I really loved the way Isayama planned this conversation; the fact that it progresses from toddler armin and eren to pre-adults really shows that their mutual understanding of each other is extremely consistant and constantly evolving. Let's not forget that, until the very end, armin knew deep down that eren had an ulterior motive, he really trusted his friend till the end. It makes me think that I'm glad that armin lived instead of erwin; i don't think that mikasa could have handled this kind of conversation with eren the way that armin did (once again, the nature of theit relationship being sensibly different) so talking to armin and going through everything with him like that really helped both eren AND the reader to understand more Eren's logic and point of view.

Many of us are actually dissapointed in eren's sudden change of tone or in his "unexpected" actions and sayings. I was too at first, it really did not feel like seeing eren... especially since we hadn't seen the real eren in a long time (since S3 pt2...). But I believe that the eren that we saw was the realest eren we'd seen in a long time...

I think that what happened to eren overall is extremely tragic; he really is the martyr of this story. He got embedded in all of this mess at such a young age and had to take responsibility for something as big as mankind's future at the snall age of 14... He never really thought about making friends, focusing on his own feelings and emotions (towards mikasa for example) or just have the time to sit down with himself and think about who he really is, what he really wants...

He always had to think about concrete and immediate action during most of his life. He was extremely hurt in his ego when he realised that his power (the attack titan) didn't make him "special" and that his dreams were far out of reach.

Eren spent an enormous amount of time in Paths, where he could see all of his life unfold before of him,and thus, managed to kind of sort out his feelings.

I feel like the character that is presented to us in chapter 139 really managed to get a hold of himself and gain understanding of his feelings towards his friends and loved ones.

Offering the world to armin. That's what eren did during this encounter. You can see it in the way that he looks at him... Eren sees freedom in Armin's eyes, more than he could ever possess, but it feels like he is okay with not being the one who experiences the joy of true freedom.

I see that many people are upset with how eren suddenly confessed his love for Mikasa. I really do understand that... But I like to think that over the time that eren spent in paths, he learnt to love her and her sacrifices properly. It leaves me with a really bitter taste, especially since it is very obvious that what stopped eren from showing any kind of affection towards mikasa before was simply the cruelty of their world...

"You must not forget" is something that has been repeated many times in the manga.

It's actually been applied to this chapter; even though eren made everyone forget about his words after his encounter with them, he restitued all of their memories so that they don't forget about the meaning of his fight.

I'm just happy that he got a chance to be understood and loved... his conversation with armin really broke my heart on so many levels... it was almost like they were trying to act like the subject of their conversation wasn't the future of their world and eren's death..

Armin's little attempts at joking, eren breaking down like a regualr teenager... it was a very genuine and intimate moment between two friends who never got to experience the presence of each other without the weigh of the world on their shoulders.

Eren isn't a strong willed hero, he is no saviour and no allegoric figure : he is what everyone made him.

I'm glad that he is resting in peace and happy that he shows regret and emotion in the end.

I still wonder though... what about eren is really free?

So I‘m rewatching Attack on Titan S3 pt2...

And I’m still salty about Armin being torched to hell and still alive, and Hange, on the other hand, same thing is done and...Armin happened to have a stronger plot armor *sighs*

I just hoping like there’s an epic Hange’s entrance again in the manga, like the same thing when how helpless Mikasa, Jean, Connie and Sasha was to kill the Armored Titan during RotS.

And what if they brought Reiner (after he was defeated and being pulled from his nape) to Bertoldt and being eaten at the same time by Titan Armin so he could’ve not saved by Zeke+ Cart Titan

I miss those days when the plot is still good and reasonable. Now, it’s just a huge circus featuring Ymir Fritz as the biggest clown of them all

Me from the last ask about seeing friends! I used to interact with people at college but since that's closed I don't only my family (mom, dad, brother) and my brothers girlfriend and GOD! I'm running out of shows to watch anime or anything, so drop some suggestions people!!!

Maaaan you lucky cuz the only other human I’m stuck with is my dad, and then I have my dogs. So far I’ve watched a few things on Netflix like beastars, my country, kingdom, the untamed, but I’ve been heading back to kissanime for more anime and my bookmarks list got hella long but some horror type anime I recommend is yamishibai, ayakashi horror story, corpse party, and then I started watching the anime version of the untamed cuz I love Wei Wuxian so much, I need to continue black lagoon and naruto cuz I didn’t finish it rip, attack on titan s3 pt2 and I gotta continue watching sailor moon so I can refresh my memory and then start the sailor starlights season. I’ve got so much anime bookmarked and all this time but I still haven’t made a dent in it yet and it’s been a month now

For your AMA! There were a lot of odd music choices for S3 pt2 (Eren v Reiner and Levi v beast) if you were in charge, what music would you have chosen for your favorite moments?

(Gonna be answering these the old fashioned way since the video thing isn’t gonna cut it)The music usage this arc was definitely weird and not something I would consider its strong part. Episode 1 was good but after that it started going downhill for the most part.Eren vs. Reiner is the first one that comes to my mind even before you said that. The entire fight was done in a very sloppy way and was clearly storyboarded by someone who has never done Titan fights in Attack on Titan. But not to talk about that now. I expected them to bust out one of the more orchestral tracks because it seems like they weren’t putting too much focus on the battle as a whole, let alone to use a proper track for it. It just felt really underwhelming while in the manga it was like a “Holy shit Eren is fighting Reiner again but he knows how to win this time”. 巨♀〜9地区  is just not the track I would use for that. ətˈæk 0N tάɪtn would have worked great again or just theDOGS orchestration Sawano has done.I was fine with TWO-lives and 2Volt being used for the Levi vs Zeke fight. Clearly all of the theDOGS orchestrations are the themes of the Warrior Titans and they’ve been used that way both in Season 2 and the 2nd recap movie of S1. I would have preferred a new, original track made for that scene or maybe Before Lights Out.

Speaking of that one, it was quite unnecessary in Season 3, IMO. Vocal version of APETITAN isn’t necessarily bad but if I had to make any Sawano comparisons to other things he’s done I would have picked something like AL:Lu from Re:CREATORS rather than just taking the original APETITAN and slapping Laco vocals and drums over it. It was only used for the scene where Zeke throws the barrel and a pretty lackluster stem edit. The lyrics part doesn’t even come in, but the new synths were definitely cool.

My biggest disappointment is that they didn’t use ShingekiNoKyojin for the Shingeki No Kyojin... well, kind of. They played it when Kruger transforms which was awesome but using Call your name for the Attack Titan title drop was stupid. That track should not be used outside of the Lost Girls ED which is what it was originally made for... and even then, could have just used the original if they REALLY wanted Call your name again. But yeah, that one was my biggest problem. ShingekiNoKyojin is my favorite instrumental track from all of snk’s music so I definitely hoped it would have been used there. Was pretty salty after that.

Those would be the main points that I would change. Still, there were some shots with really good music choice this arc, like ThanksAT in Episode 6 and T-KT for the ocean scene, as well as a few others but Part 1 of Season 3 is infinitely superior to Part 2 in terms of music usage.
