DESIGNER — Soul Eater Evans x femReader Short Fanfic (Chapter One)
I have open writing commissions!!!
A soul eater short fanfic bc I absolutely love them uwu, enjoyyy
WRITING AND TRANSLATING COMMISSIONS
----------------------------------
He hated replacing his summer clothes with his winter ones, specially because those things are just fun when your responsability is going to school, pass exams, go home and hang out with friends while you look cool with them.
The thing is, if you were a student at this academy where, well, you were just responsable of everyones in the world life, you probably wouldn´t have much time to look that cool everytime. Some students would always wear the same clothes, others would wear things that made them look more serious… and some of them would keep wearing that weird looking promotion shirt from that Death City students market.
But Soul loved to be a single peace of art at his own, and everyones, eyes. He would be lying if he said he didn´t planned each and every outfit just to have something that made him tick, something interesting would always be in his clothes just to make him look like him.
He was almost in love with his own fashion sense. And sometimes, in some missions, he tought bad guys were bad just because they commited crimes… one of them, and the worst: was ruining his loved clothes.
In their last unpleasant meeting with a kishin in noth, this idiot had ruined his favorite jacket, and that thing was expensive when he bought it, so now the price was at least twice than the last time he looked for it.
And that made him upset. He liked some clothes from the local market but, in general, they were a bit expensive, even when he divided his money with Maka´s to pay rent.
Soul was completely annoyed the entire trip back home. The kishin even hurted his arm so now, the jacket had blood in it. He was horribly upset for that, because he didn´t had any piece that combined just fine with his clothes, and he was finding this out just now that he was organizing his winter clothes.
Lord Shinigami had his eye on him and his meister, in case of things were going bad, and because the last time he wasn´t looking, they took the wrong soul. So when he saw them, and Lord Shinigami saw Soul that hurted both phisically and in style way, he said something about it.
He mentioned someone that, in that moment, was meaningless, because he was so mad he didn´t want to be a part of that conversation at all.
But now, that name could mean something.
—Maka, do you remember what Lord Shinigami said?
—He´s the principal, he says lots of things all the time. Be more specific— she left her book for a minute.
—When the kishin hurted my arm and ruined my jacket— he showed her his ripped up jacket— Remember? Well, he mentioned someone, but I can´t remember who.
—Oh, to fix it? He was talking about _____ ______.
—From school?
—No, she is from a clothes store. A pretty girl. She dresses like… I don´t know, weird.
—So you think she will fix this?
—Yes. She works everyday so, she doesn´t always have ways to make herself more known, so she fixes clothes too. My dad is dumb and always gives her lots of his clothes to fix.
Soul looked at her, not believing what he was hearing.
—Don´t you hate your dad? Why would you know that?— Maka practically jumped to the coach to end the conversation, that cuestion was a little… unpleasant to her.
—Because she is cool and she tells me stuff, I like her, not him. She is loevly preciseley because she said I don´t look much like my dad,
Soul didn´t asked much, and he just got your contact, happy because someone wanting and waiting to fix his loved jacket.
At the end, he found himself outside of a store that did not appear to be special at all, and that made him suspect a little bit. So he looked at Maka with an ¨are you sure?¨ look.
—Are we in the right place? You said this was an incredibly amazing place.
—Isn´t it?
—We are literally in front of a white brick wall with just a black door. The only thing that catches my eye is that little ¨we´re open¨ sign.
Maka stared at him without any answer, boring about that extremely ignorant answer.
She took his hand and quickly directed him inside the store.
With just one foot into the store, he started to feel a completely different vibe inside him, as a superior force was consuming him and make his soul giggle somehow. There weren´t just colors, but people, and they were the most genuinely impressive he had ever seen.
It was the most wonderful place his eyes have ever seen.
—____!— Maka said loudly, looking for you.
At first, the pianist doubted a little bit about Maka being friends or even know someone as cool as they said you were, and worked in that amazingly stylish place. The short one, would never said it, but she had never saw Soul with such an enchanted stare and absorted face before, with no one, and with nothing.
And he was really in love with everything there. The illumination was unexpectedly nice, having a first floor with more endless rows of clothes made of pure style.
Ah, God.
If he had more money with him at time, no one could ever get him out of there.

Prbly controversial but okhubo should have leaned in the meta elements more. What if Shinra instead of becomming god, confronts "god" - the author. Then the soul eater connection could be explained as Okhubo showing how trough creation one can overcome death trough distraction, beauty or immortalisation of great works ect. Than it can be connected with the religious themes by saying "maybe you are also a charachter in a story" and Okhubo saying who knows but he try either way or somethjng. Done.
It is a good idea.
While I didn't think of this as an idea for Fire Force, I had a similar idea for how another manga would wrap up.
So, a lot of spoilers below (not just for Soul Eater and Fire Force, but other series that either have done something similar or could end up doing the same thing, such as Bungo Stray Dogs, Cyborg 009, and...*shudder* The Nostalgia Critic).
If Ohkubo handled the meta elements well, then yes, leaning more into them would work.
I'm not the biggest fan of encountering the author in various works. I thought it was a bit tacky in The Nostalgia Critic, even as there is enough meta to that series that it makes sense. Hell, Chowder did the same gag, but that show broke the fourth wall so often that it made sense. But whereas Chowder did it as a gag, it was this significant, emotional moment for Critic--that I just don't think worked as well, not least of which what we all learned later about how #ChangeTheChannel went down.
Yes, if Ohkubo showed how he was able to make something like Soul Eater that transcended death, and how art is an _example_ of what we can do and what we can achieve, even if it's not a reality of how things will be or how they will turn out, then yes, I think that could have worked.
You can even have fun with Shinra asking, "Wait, those things in your earlier work look like things in my world. Did you do that, or did we do that?" And Ohkubo can be a troll, as usual, and act like it could go either way: maybe Shinra's world inspired stuff in how Soul Eater turned out, or Soul Eater inspired how stuff happened in Fire Force. Comic books have done this kind of gag before: see how the Silver Age Flash comics said Barry was inspired by reading the Jay Garrick comics, and how that idea popped up in the CW show as well as the Justice Guild two-parter in the Justice League animated series.
And sure, all of this could just be a ripoff of what Cyborg 009 did, where the characters meet the creator Shotaro Ishinomori. But ripping that off wouldn't be a bad thing. And it would actually make more sense as a tip of the hat, given that, much later, Cyborg 009 was hinted to be a sequel to the earlier series Skull Man, with Joe's father hinted to be the second Skull Man and resurrected as Joe's enemy Black Ghost.
But honestly, I don't think there is enough setup for this to work as well in Fire Force as it could in another series that is built around these very ideas: Bungo Stray Dogs. In that series, characters are named after real-life authors (and some characters are named after the characters in those authors' stories). But then, at some point, Atsushi finds writing by the real-life Nakajima. And later we learn Dazai may be able to see into alternate universes, where those stories are "written" in different ways. And we learn there is a book where the pages in it can be written on to change their reality. So, is it possible that series will end in a similar way, where we learn that this is all some story written by someone else? Maybe. It at least would fit the conceit of the series: a story about authors made into fictional characters makes sense.
But a story that was about people turning into flame monsters and, only later, really laying heavy into religion and conspiracies? What does that have to do with meta re-writing of reality? If we are trying to say that religions are made by people, and they can be re-written, that is a stretch--and really cliche, because we've heard this idea so much, that of course religions are made by people, whether or not some divine intervention was part of it. It's hard to top other works that did this idea better (even Kevin Smith did better with it in Dogma), and I just don't think Ohkubo topped it.

Fans Believe Fire Force Creator's "Stolen" Ideas Point to Promare
It's not uncommon to find more than one of the same sort of show in a year, or even in a season. But when you get two very similar titles near each other, it gets a little suspicious... and Fire Force creator Atsushi Ohkubo has apparently confirmed these suspicions.
While Ohkubo didn't name names in a recent Weekly Shonen Magazine comment, he did allude to recent work being "stolen," as well as not wanting to talk about upcoming projects to anyone, even friends. Readers were ahead of the curve, however, noting major similarities between his manga series and Trigger and XFLAG's film Promare.
Both titles center on a squad using their special powers to rescue the world from fire-centric horrors. Both also feature a new addition to their squad with an exceptional and surprising power. As seen above, the two titles share certain stylistic and design elements, too. The Promare film went into planning a bit before the Fire Force manga kicked off, theoretically placing the early planning stages for both projects relatively near each other.
Okhubo's statement was admittedly vague, and it's not impossible for two strikingly similar projects to spring up near each other without one being a deliberate ripoff of another. However, the timing of Ohkubo's statement and the reference to losing trust in people does seem to be pretty straightforward.
Promare hit Japanese theaters on May 24. Fire Force begins on July 5, and the manga is distributed in English by Kodansha USA.
