BTVS ships episode count review

I was thinking about Buffy's 3 main ships (to me): Bangel v. Spuffy v. Fuffy. I was wondering how many episodes (BTVS or ATS) where each ship has scenes together. Then inspired by these two polls I decided to add in two other non-Buffy ships: Gethan and Spangel.

Kudos to the Fuffy and Gethan shippers, who are working with not a TON of episodes with scenes together. Especially Gethan shippers, who only have 4 canon episodes! To be fair, Spangel fans only had 13 until S5 of ATS.

Summary ship episode count: Spuffy (Spike x Buffy): 71 Bangel (Buffy x Angel): 49 Spangel (Spike x Angel): 35 Fuffy (Faith x Buffy): 21 Gethan (Giles x Ethan): 4

Any blatant negative ship comments, like calling a specific ship indecent will get you blocked. Ship and let ship. Other comments welcome.

What's the Universe? The TV Buffyverse. (BTVS TV or ATS TV eps, the comics and books don’t count.)

How to start? I started with the pre-count. The pre-count is episodes where both characters in the ship appeared.

Spuffy pre-count: 96 (inc. 0 on ATS) Bangel pre-count: 56 (inc. 2 on ATS) Spangel pre-count: 42 (inc. 22 on ATS) Fuffy pre-count: 21 (inc. 1 on ATS) Gethan pre-count: 4 (inc. 0 on ATS)

How to verify? I did not rewatch all the episodes! I rewatched a few, after checking transcripts, recaps, and ship gif pages.

What doesn't count? Someone talking about the other person, because I am not trying to include the various episodes where Faith is haunting the show. They must appear in a scene together for it to count. They must both be fully aware of each other. Shared dreams (like the Fuffy ones) do count, but regular dreams do not. Buffy Bot, Wishverse Buffy, and FirstEvil Buffy do not count. I treated Faith and Buffy as their "mental" selves during the two body swap episode scenes. Also I treated Angel the same as Angelus and soul-less Spike the same as soul-ed Spike.

Spuffy (Spike x Buffy) 71 total S1: 0 / S2: 7 / S3: 1 / S4: 9 / S5: 18 / S6: 17 / S7: 19 / ATS: 0 4x06 Wild At Heart does not count because in the cemetery she is not aware he can hear her speech "to him." 4x16 Who Are You? does not count because Spike encounters Faith in Buffy's body, so I counted that as a Faith-Spike scene. 4x22 Restless also does not count because while he appears in Xander's dream and so does Buffy, this is Xander's dream so neither appearance counts. 5x08 Shadow does not count because he dreams of her, but it's not a shared dream. Fuffy (Faith x Buffy) 21 total S1: 0 / S2: 0 / S3: 13 / S4: 2 / S5: 0 / S6: 0 / S7: 5 / ATS: 1 (S1) Every Faith appearance in a BTVS episode means she will have a scene with Buffy. She has 5 Buffy-less episodes on ATS. I did count the dream sequence in 3x22 Graduation Day Part 2 because I read it as a shared dream. They are both aware of the other.

Gethan (Giles x Ethan) 4 total S1: 0 / S2: 2 / S3: 1 / S4: 1 / S5: 0 / S6: 0 / ATS: 0 Similar to Faith, whenever Ethan appears in an episode, he will have a scene with Giles.

This doesn't have visualization yet but I wanted to share the results.

In BtVS 4x1 Buffy meets Eddie, he gets killed by vampires, she slays them. "College is...a lot like high school" In AtS 1x1, Angel meets Tina, she gets killed by a vampire, he slays him. "This isn't high school anymore"

In BtVS 3x22, Angel gets a dose of Slayer (Buffy's blood) and 3 months later on AtS 1x1 he was still jonesin. In BtVS 4x22, Buffy gets a dose of Slayer (joining spell) and 3 months later in 5x1 she was still jonesin.

In BtVS Willow is the metaphorical "spirit", Giles the "brain", and Xander the "heart". In AtS Wesley is the metaphorical "brain" and Cordelia the "heart". Angel & Buffy are the central character, the body.

In BtVS, through magic Buffy has a daughter (Dawn), she's a teen with 14+ years of fake memories placed in a family's home. In the comics Dawn moves in with Xander and they have a child together. In AtS through magic Angel has a son (Connor), he's soon a teen with 18+ years of fake memories placed in a family's home. Connor moves in with Cordelia and they have a child together.

In BtVS, Giles reads the lore and tries to convince Buffy to kill Dawn. In AtS, Wesley reads the lore and tries to protect Connor from being killed by Angel.

In AtS s2-3, Darla stalks & torments Angel "God doesn't want you", breaks into his home (including when he's naked in bed), he tries to help her atone, eventually has sex with her ("perfect despair") but still doesn't want to be with her, she leaves town, returns pregnant, an old victim (Holtz) wants revenge, she sacrifices herself. In BtVS s5-7, Spike stalks & torments Buffy "you came back (from Heaven) wrong", breaks into her home (including when she's naked in bed), she eventually has sex with him ("addicted to the misery") but still doesn't want to be with him, he leaves town, returns with a soul, she helps him atone, an old victim (Wood) wants revenge, he sacrifices himself.

In BtVS s3, the Mayor suffocated Buffy as she lay in a hospital bed because she got Faith hurt. Angel saves her. In AtS s3, Angel suffocated Wesley as he lay in a hospital bed because he got Connor hurt.

In BtVS, Buffy leaves town for the summer to mourn Angel's death. In 3x1 she returns. In 3x4 she finds out Angel is back. In AtS, Angel leaves town for the summer to mourn Buffy's death. In 3x1 he returns. In 3x4 he finds out Buffy is back.

In BtVS after Angel's death, Buffy rescues Anne from slavery in a demon dimension via an LA portal and returns home. In AtS Angel rescues Winifred from slavery in a demon dimension via an LA portal then finds out Buffy died and leaves home.

Buffy returns from Heaven mostly non-verbal, traumatized, and relying on primal instinct. That is how Angel was when he returned from Hell.

In BtVS Faith bodyswaps Buffy (Who Are You) and has sex in her body. In AtS Marcus bodyswaps Angel (Carpe Noctem), kisses but fixed before sex in his body.

In BtVS Buffy is compelled to be with Spike/RJ (4x9, 7x6) kisses but fixed before she has sex. In AtS Angel is compelled to be with Eve (5x6) he has sex with her.

In BtVS s6 (Normal Again) in a fake world Buffy is huddled on the floor, mentally ill. In AtS s3 (Birthday) in a fake world Angel is huddled on the floor, mentally ill.

In BtVS, Buffy begins s3 dreaming she's on a beach with Angel. In AtS, Angel ends s3 waiting on the bluffs for Cordelia (since AtS tried to have her fill Buffy's role).

In BtVS, Buffy begins s6 trapped alone in a coffin in the earth. Buffy had died protecting Dawn. In AtS, Angel ends s3 trapped alone in a coffin in the ocean. Angel was placed there by Connor.

In AtS s4, Angel kicks Connor out of his house. In BtVS s7, Dawn kicks Buffy out of her own house.

In BtVS s7, the Big Bad (First Evil, forces evil in everyone's hearts) has It's minion hunt the Watcher's Council. Buffy kills the main minions: Turok-han & Caleb. Buffy takes over as Head of the WC. In AtS s4, the Big Bad (Jasmine, forces peace in everyone's hearts) has her minion hunt Wolfram & Hart. Angelus kills the main minion: the Beast. Angel takes over as CEO of WR&H.

You Can Still Be A Cookie-Baking Cardigan-Wearing Big Softie Without a Soul...

Donatello is RIGHT THERE, telling us that, provided you work at it, you can still be a good human being in the world, even if God’s sister ate your soul, even if you got mind-broken and then healed up again, all by the same angel, and you STILL have to deal with being a Prophet of the Lord.

Indeed, Donatello told us himself, in 14x15 Peace of Mind, that he deals with his soul-less condition, by asking himself, “What would Mr. Rogers do?”  (from the much loved pre-school show for US kids, Mr. Rogers Neighbourhood 1968-2001). In other words, he has picked a good role model and moral compass to help guide him. 

Dean and Sam know Donatello doesn’t have a soul, but they still trust him to be a kind and avuncular figure to whom Dean can take Jack for advice about the status of his own soul. 

H, e, double hockey-sticks, Sam was (mostly) managing without a soul, back in S6, as long as he had Dean’s guidance to be around (rather than the much more dubious example of their grandfather Samuel). I mean, sure, he let Dean get bit by a vampire, and he was a bit insensitive, and he slept around more...

But, using the mirror of Donatello, who has been nothing but sweet since Cas healed his mind in 14x12 Prophet and Loss, the show is currently telling us, loud and clear, that Jack potentially not having his soul (or only having some of it) DOESN’T have to mean he will go automatic dark-side. 

Yes, killing Felix was alarming, because although it was meant as a kindness, it was based on a misunderstanding and misapplication of Jack’s extraordinary powers - rather like the battle-field angel, the Rit Zien, in 9x06 Heaven Can’t Wait, which was zoning in on human heartbreak and deciding that murder was the answer to emotional suffering.  

The problem is, Donatello told Jack in 14x15 that WWWD was a good moral compass to follow - “What would the Winchesters do?” 

Is it? 

There have been a few subtle call-backs to Dean, Sam and Cas’ own less than stellar behaviour in the past, of late.

Castiel first breaking and then mending Donatello’s mind was a mirror call-back to one of the worst things Cas has ever done - namely, breaking the wall in Sam’s mind (which Death put up to cordon off Sam’s memories of his torture by Lucifer in the Pit) followed by Castiel’s atonement, beginning with taking on Sam’s cage-match scars in 7x17 The Born Again Identity.   

I’ve talked elsewhere about how the name “Cindy’s Diner” in 14x17 Game Night might be a subtle call back to when Sam and Ruby killed the human host of a demon, Cindy McKellen, a nurse, in 4x22 Lucifer Rising, so Sam could drink her demon-inhabited blood and power-up to kill Lilith.

 And never mind the past - Dean, Sam and Cas have all been making some poor choices recently, often based around either a failure to communicate clearly, or to listen carefully, to one another. Dean was determined to lock himself in the Ma’lak box without even saying, “Goodbye,” to Jack and Cas. Cas made a deal with The Shadow and is insisting Jack keep it a secret from Sam and Dean (an unfair burden to put on a child). And Sam didn’t sufficiently consider the safety of the AU hunters under his care, around his AU!Michael infected brother, plus he also ignored Dean and Mary’s objections to Jack talking alone with Nick (which led to Nick being able to obtain Jack’s blood for his creepy Lucifer-raising ritual).

So, the season’s end seems to be setting up a scenario where Dean, Sam and Cas become convinced Jack’s “issues” are his soul-lessness and his parentage as the son of Lucifer (probably blaming him for Mary’s assumed death/ disappearance) rather than a) recognising Jack has probably now been whammied by Lucifer from beyond The Empty by a blood-spell and b) Jack’s poor choices are maybe coming from watching the behaviour of his three adopted fathers, not inherited from his absent biological one.

Notice, Jack wanted Mary to keep his burning up of Nick a secret.  

He has learned from the Winchesters that keeping secrets from your family members is how you deal with your issues.

Nature vs nurture.

Fate vs free will. 

Donatello, meanwhile, is the living proof, right under the Winchesters’ noses, that, even without a soul, you can choose to be a good person in the world, if, you have the proper guidance.   

Parenting is hard.

Hello! This is my first fan-fic and it's based on the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I love Rosa Diaz's character and have always wondered what she was experiencing during her time in prison so I started this book...also I really wanna be her girlfriend. Seriously.

CHAPTER 1

Prison was hell if there ever was one. You were trapped in a gruesome facility with terrifying women who all did disturbing things to earn themselves a place in this hell-hole. There was no escape for another 8 months, and, what's worse- everyone hated you.

It wasn't only because of your personality, which let's be honest, was way too nice for prison, or the fact that you were also a snitch when you first got here- tried to make your way by exposing contraband and suppliers which made everyone your enemy. It was also because you were a former cop. Apparently the word 'former' did not apply in prison and everyone ever arrested —which just happened to be every single woman in that prison—decided to take out their anger on you. Hell, no one even asked you about your story: you weren't even a cop anymore when you got arrested. Nobody cared. They just saw you for who you maybe were years ago, when you still had your badge and your gun. They saw you as what go them into that prison and they surely made it crystal clear...okay, okay you may have pissed some people off by exposing their secret plans to the Warden- but that was in the very beginning. A prison rookie mistake you tried to forget about.

But now things were changing. A batch of new inmates had arrived at the prison, and luckily, one of them was a cop too. Her name was Detective Rosa Diaz. You could hear that name crawl around the prison walls and bounce off the ceiling- everyone talked about her. They were all so focused on getting their revenge on her too they forgot about you, and finally, for the first time in months, you ate lunch peacefully and didn't even get spit on. But guess who did? Rosa Diaz. Poor thing was stuck in a shower washing all the spit and food crumbs out of her hair for a while. You guessed she took the 'won't-talk-to-you-don't-care-even-if-you-hurt-me' approach to prison. You knew she wouldn't last.

Although, there was one decent thing about prison: a special hideout place you found. The access to it was treacherous, but it was definitely worth it. Through the laundry room, then the smallest ever vent in a wall, a long dark stinky tunnel, and finally, out into the air. You weren't sure exactly what the place was going to be used for anyways, it looked like a very shrunk down attic with an unfinished roof. Why would a prison even need an attic? But if you could sneak there during the night, you could sometimes see the stars and feel human again.

It was on one of those nights that you heard a sound from the vent. You thought it was just the rats but the sound got louder and closer...someone was crawling up the vent. You didn't even have enough time to process what was happening and how you should react when a head popped out of the vent.

"Shit." You heard  the woman's raspy voice. It was Diaz.

"Hey...I don't think we've met yet" you said facing her, "I'm Y/L. I won't hurt you if you don't hurt me."

She sighed and slowly got out of the vent fully.

"Deal." She stated firmly. She didn't sound like she trusted you.

"How long are you in for?" You asked hoping to receive an answer from the woman that was currently tensely sitting next to you, staring ahead. She didn't answer, which was no surprise to you. She didn't seem like the chatty type. You decided to talk a little about your past, even if she wouldn't answer, she would at least listen. Nobody had done that for a while.

"I used to work for the NYPD too a couple of years back. I was a youg dumbass detective. Got sent on an undercover mission once to bust a money laundering organization and fell for the boss. Nina was amazing though, I couldn't help it. I knew I was doing my job and the people around me were criminals but feelings fuck you up you know. She was a pretty good manipulator too." You stopped, debating wether you should continue or not and found Diaz's glance fixed on your face. She turned away sharply once you caught her eyes.

"...So of course I did the most reasonable thing: I cut all ties with the NYPD, distroyed listening devices, secret mics, GPS trackers, my badge, and told Nina that we were being hunted so we could go on the run and safely escape getting caught. I left everything behind for her."

You fell silent, deep in thought about your wrong decisions. Diaz finally spoke:

"Got caught?"

"Yeah, the police already had a lot of information on our organization, it took them only a few months to find us. Unfortunately, by then I had already taken part in transporting millions illegally over multiple borders and willingly signed a contract with the organization." You stopped and chuckled at yourself, "I was an idiot."

The two of you sat in silence from then on. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence though, it was the type of silence where you really didn't care who sat beside you, you just wanted to be in your head. Diaz was busy observing the stars when you thought of something.

"Hey, I have an idea. Something that got me though the first few months of prison was solitary conefinement. You go there if you cause chaos around the prison. Its a horrific experience for most- up to a week in an enclosed space alone- I bet you'd love it."

"I would." To your surprise she answered. "Tell me how I get in there."

Which are your favourite episodes for Buffy and Angel as individuals? Like which one did you watch and say ‘Holy, I love Angel so much and stan till death’ or visa versa?

Oh wow I love this question!! I will do Angel first (and I’m only considering BtVS episodes and not Ats): 1x07 (learn more about him), 2x01, 2x05, 2x07, 3x10, 3x16, 3x18, 4x08, 4x20 (both episodes in season 4 he’s just… really funny lol) and 5x17 (because he’s very supportive of buffy and is there for her… king)

okay so fair warning i'm a bigger fan of btvs so i've seen it and know it far better than ats and i haven't even rewatched ats fully in awhile (currently doing the world's slowest rewatch for like a year or two and only on mid s2).

but immediately my brain was like s4! and i think if this isn't a made up memory/dream you have then it's most likely to have happened between s2-4.

but she is also in s1 so that's still a possibility and she's only in 36 episodes, so i could do some sifting through those episodes when i have some time later but for now i figured i would list all the episodes she's in if anyone else wanted to do that.

but also maybe one of the 200+ followers who might all know the show better than i do or at least have seen it more recently, might know exactly what scene you're talking about.

TL;DR: which episode possibly features Lilah walking on a rooftop looking smug and dramatic while possibly watching Angel fight? (sidenote: i just had a memory of i think Lilah and Gavin watching Angel fight from afar... so if i'm right that would narrow it down to episodes with both Lilah AND Gavin.)

May 2

I woke up a bit before noon.

Browsed some SaSi tags (if I wasn’t already in the middle of a big project - I so want to make more fan art down the line) and then made the next Hello Fresh Dinner for the family. Beef tenderloin and shallot pan sauce. I’m happy that the overall opinion was that it was tasty - hell, I really liked it too!

After that and dishes, got started on today’s exercise.

First, today’s DD. 1′ one-arm plank with EC. Always helpful to have a time in front of you for things like this. I also tried to be more focused on form.

Second, Day 43 of the 60DoC. Level 3, no rests. The only thing that really got the Vitals spike were the high knees - but there was a lot of less explosive/aerobic stuff in sequence to make doing that in one go very doable.

Third, Day 13 of the C&AC. 4x push-ups to failure. I believe I hit the 24-18-12-6 targets. Hopefully I didn‘t miscount, was a bit distracted from rewatching that SaSi episode... :P

Last, Day 13 of the DSC. Nothing fancy for today’s 100 punches. Jab+crosses, one go, swap stance at 50.

I worked on some gratitude journaling, did some socializing, and some shopping before hitting the hay. It was just BARELY in the yellow zone... but I’ll take it.

May 3

I woke up pretty much at 11AM, today. Was a bit restless because I think I got a lil too chilly + itchy. :P

Did some more shopping and password management stuff, before getting to my exercise.

First, today’s DD. 1′ calf raise hold with EC. This was pretty breezy, if a touch more challenging from sore calf muscles. Still important to not space out.

Second, Day 44 of the 60DoC. Level 3, 1′ rest. Split jacks, man. This got pretty winding and had a false start for reasons... but I’m just happy I managed to get through it.

Third, Day 14 of the C&AC. 5x20 shoulder taps. Decided to continue taking advantage of rests. Tough, but doable.

Last, Day 14 of the DSC. Just the usual.

I spent some time drawing a hilarious sketch, chatting about it, and then getting back to working on a more important art project.

Also did some late dishes and gratitude journaling before hitting the sack. Pretty square in the yellow zone, but I will accept this.

May 4

I woke up a bit earlier than yesterday.

After some YouTube, I got started on my exercise for the day.

First, today’s DD. 30 scorpion twists with EC. One of the harder parts were floor space negotiation. But still doable. :P

(I kind of hit a family-related low today... killed my motivation for most of my day, id I’m totally honest... spent some time on Kong as a distraction.)

Second, Day 45 of the 60DoC. Level 3, barely kept my rest periods at 1′. II had to basically drag my mopey ass though this workout. The up and downs were brutal and I basically had my arms get noodle-y for the seal jacks.

(After a good deal of time seated on floor to catch my breath... probably ~10′, while Sawbones kept playing.)

Third, Day 15 of the C&AC. 4x push-ups with EC. 24-18-12-6, very sloppy. I just don’t care, today.

Last, Day 15 of the DSC. Besides the DD, this was probably my highlight for exercise.

Did some chatting, took a shower, wrote a gratitude entry, and played a bit of Solitaire before getting to bed. Yellow zone again... it’s always nice to see a maintained streak of not-red.

May 5

I woke up a bit before 11AM.

Did a bit of the usual before case manager came over to hand off some papers + check-in. I talked a bit about Habitica to him, and I think it would be a lovely resource for others.

Decided to be a channel member for Thomas Sanders, first time I’ve done that. Had a scare and some frustrations from that process, but tech support was kind and helpful.

First, today’s DD. 1′ alt arm/leg raises with EC. Doable, but got a bit messy. There were quite a few moments where i almost fell out of position, so I’m happy that didn’t happen today.

(After some chatting that got a bit away from us...)

Second, Day 46 of the 60DoC. Level 3, 30″ rest. This was done probably far too late in day and too soon after eating. Stomach didn’t enjoy the up/downs + climbers, got a bit of heartburn. But c’est la vie. I did try to mind how much noise I was making... not sure how successful I was at that.

Third, Day 16 of the C&AC. 4x22 shoulder taps. Not the best w/ some noted stomach unease, but manageable.

Last, Day 16 of the DSC. Nothing fancy and always a nice way to to cut the edge off.

I did try to see if tablet/Photoshop was going to cooperate (but I think there were too many background processes for that to work). But wound up just chatting, listening to Sawbones, and watching some vids before bed.

I barely got to bed in the yellow zone.

May 6

I woke up a few minutes before 11AM. (Observed that I really need to not sleep on my arm the way I do... bleh.)

After some dishes, I got going with my exercise early.

First, today’s DD. 30″ hop heel clicks with EC. I counted 54 reps by the end. That rate/amount can take a lot of focus to make sure the heels hit each other with each hop. But, mission very much accomplished!

Second, Day 47 of the 60DoC. Level 3, 1′ rest. This was pretty moderate in overall intensity. Jacks & knee-to-elbows are fun stuff.

Third, Day 17 of the C&AC. 4x push-ups to failure. 24-18-12-6, might increment it up next time. But I do admit that there was a bit of sloppiness today.

Last, Day 17 of the DSC. 100 punches, decided to do it in 50/50 jabs. Definitely felt fatigue build up from that stacking.

I spent a good deal of the rest of my day chatting, watching YouTube, and showing some prelim plans for next art project with someone. Got to bed in my yellow zone again.

May 7

I woke up before 11AM, today.

Did some sewing stuff to modify the mask my grandma made to better fit. Then got started on some of my exercise.

First, today’s DD. 30 dead lifts with EC. One of those moderately deceptive exercises - you do feel some fatigue build up in those erector spinae muscles!

After spending time chatting with friend, I was to go to the grandparents for a family celebration. Ate dinner, played some cards, and ate some ice cream before getting back home.

Once back, I got back to chatting and I wound up getting the rest of my exercise done really late, like... REALLY late.

Second, Day 48 of the 60DoC. Level 3, 1′ rest. The squat hops had me a bit reticent, but the half jacks made it fun. Calves burned, but I love jacks.

Third, Day 18 of the C&AC. 5x24 shoulder taps with EC. Not much to remark on here.

Last, Day 18 of the DSC. 100 punches, decided to do it in 50/50 crosses. Similar fatigue experience as yesterday. But no less enjoyable

Did some gratitude journaling, too. In the end, I barely got to bed in the yellow zone.

I woke up a bit after 11AM.

Did some dishes before doing today’s DD. 1′ hollow hold with EC. That was pretty intense, as it usually is. takes being mindful of spine.

After a bit of YouTube, I spent time making today’s Hello Fresh dinner. Frijoles fresca bowls. Everybody liked this one well enough, so I’m again happy for it.

Spent a good deal of my time chatting, watching the John Wick stream, and other things. Jotted down some gratitude list entries, before hitting the sack.

It was pretty unambiguously red this time... give myself a grace period on Habitica on that one...

i loved the revival, bc it was so great seeing the characters again and the actors. it felt gg to me. BUT there were some parts i didn’t like that much (the musical for example??? @ writers: why was it so long???)

Thoughts on Erin Lindsay

Okay so first of all, idk where this came from exactly but im gonna blame it on too much vanilla coke zero in my system and finishing 4x22 at 1:30 in the morning. Anyway, here are some ramblings on my bby Erin.

It’s a recurring theme: Erin and children. I think she sees a bit of herself in their stories- the foster care, the abuse, the neglect. Every single case involving kids breaks her heart. That was certainly a contributing factor to her going off the deep end at the end of season two (Nadia being the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back).

Erin can’t get away from her past or the traumas she experienced before Voight took her in because she’s constantly surrounded by these reminders and Bunny, who is most definitely “the cancer in her life.”

Everyone in intelligence has let their emotions get the better of them and let the cases get too personal. But Hank and Erin take it to another level. She idolizes him, so it doesn’t help that he has explosive behavior and emotions and operates with a very gray definition of right, wrong, and justice. Especially on cases involving children and teenagers, Erin lets her emotions take control instead of relying on reason and rationality. That’s why she went on a downward spiral, and that’s why she was willing to go down with Voight at the beginning of the season. And it’s why in episode 22 she pulled her gun on the killer.

Part of her lack of control over her emotions is due to her childhood. She never had good role models, and she has only recently begun going to therapy for everything she’s been through. Erin is finally ready to stand up for herself against Bunny, but that doesn’t change her behavioral and emotional patterns. She ate rashly and violently because that’s all she knew growing up as a street kid where her friends went missing, her mother neglected her in favor of drugs and alcohol, and the manipulation and abuse she and Annie endured from Charlie and others like him.

This is a part of Erin that she may never be able to leave behind, but maybe one day she’ll learn to better handle situations where she feels too much- the situations that break her heart- without sacrificing her soul in the process. Right now though, I feel like in all honesty she is probably in too fragile a place to be in intelligence. The same could probably be argued for other members of the unit, but it seems most apt regarding Erin. Obviously though, I love Erin and don’t want to see her have to leave the unit, though that definitely looks like that’s how the season will end, which will make for an interesting parallel to the season two finale.
