Sarah Silverhorn (Full body)
I finally got to draw again since being busy with school, so I’m happy to draw again. But since I haven’t been drawing in a while, I got to practice again. While I do like my drawing, I might fix Sharah a little. But I wanted to draw her, I am also going to try drawing Benjamin as well. I’ve also been writing a small little thing, just for fun. It relates to Atomic City (Where Gab and some of my other ocs are from), I thought it would be fun to write and talk about some of the characters. But I am still working on the world, I do have two characters writen and is coming up with more characters. I just think it would be fun to share my little creative world and characters idea, it not something big. I am busy with internship, so I’ll try to make somewhat progress with this.

Ophelia Bright and Bright Tech
Tumblr media
(I like her design though, I might fix her neck fluff, but might update her outfit)
Who is Ophelia Bright?
Ophelia Bright is the founder/owner of Bright Tech, since the founding of the city
Why is she a cyborg?
The reason for her cybernetics is not because she was ill or was in an accent, it's because of fear of not being able to do anything because of aging. She fear of being obsolete, since no one can escape aging, but that doesn't mean she can't advance herself. So, she gave herself any cybernetic. But she made the cybernetics look like her skin tones, because she still wanted to look organic and it can mess with people that not know what is robotic and what is still organic, but you can tell she is still a cyborg.
Mini facts about Ophila:
• Species: Rose Maple Moth (also cyborg)
• Age: 85
• Has a British Accent
• She is 6’0
• Founder/owner of Bright Tech
• She has two children, a daughter Victoria Bright (nurse), and her son Lucas Bright (works with his mother).
What is Bright Tech?
Bright Tech is a business that mainly manufactures robots, computers, and cybernetic parts for hospitals and other medical businesses. The main factory and headquarters are located in the cold/tundra section of Atomic City, the reasoning for the factory to be located in the coldest section is because of space and because the cold temperatures for the robots. While not the only tech business in the city, it is the first and the oldest in the city. Bright Tech makes robots for construction, transportation, difficult labor, and you name it. This business has caused problems for the lower/working class that did the difficult labor, because, before the robots, they did these difficult jobs to make money for themselves and their family. But because Bright Tech decided to increase different jobs for robots, this has caused people to change jobs or become unemployed.
When it comes to cybernetics, cybernetics have always existed in Atomic City. While it still is used to help those who lost a limb or need it for other medical reasons, the owner decided to give them an “upgrade” due to her reasons. This did cause a small “trend” of some people to get these certain cybernetics to look cool or for selfish reasons, compared to those who need them medically. Because of this trend, gave certain people mixed views. Because of how far robots have taken jobs from people, this makes people believe that cyborgs will be the next problem for workers, athletes, etc…

Introducing Atom! My superhero OC that I’ll be posting a lot about and am about to ramble to you about in this post.
I made Atom first for a short little comic that I would have theoretically have finished in a week. A good 5 years later I’m planning out a much larger story for the guy. He is one of my favorite OC—I always find this phrase weird cause technically all my OCs are my favorites cause I made them—I really enjoy him for being a way in which I can explore all phases of superheroes. Atom in story was born 1950, February 29th, so he would start out in a golden age of superheroes. Be an adolescent during the silver, and an adult throughout the dark ages to modern times. So I get to play dress up with all sorts of different styles of design characteristics of the time(s). He is also fun cause he just has this very unique nose that’s so fun to draw. I had Brendan Fraser in mind when I started really nailing down his adult design. So he bares a resemblance which I’m probably the only person can see.
Back to actual lore Atom has been a superhero all his life. His parents were both scientists that wished to create the next evolution of people while in Los Alamos working on ways to peaceful harness atomic energy after the development and dropping of atomic bombs. To cut a long set up short his parents created a bomb that was set off and did grant superpowers to people with specific genetic mutations, while also killing them and making raging mutant monsters. From there Atom would have the ability of atomic manipulation. While a great superpower with many different avenues of how it can be used it also has some big draw backs. Atom either has to touch or know the atomic makeup of what he is controlling. He does work around these conditions by often having little metal marbles on hand he throws which at an object. Melding into said object and he can then use it like a puppet string or draw it closer so he can touch the object and fully manipulate it.
Atom really grows tired of being a superhero quickly preferring calling himself an everyday hero. Someone that does what they do not because they have mask or powers but because they wanna help. Atom wants nothing more then to help people, and clean up the mess his parents made the world into. He does grow bitter later in his life as he finds the commercialization of superheroes annoying. With the government body that regulates superheroes turning into a Disney like company that prefers increasing revenue to quality not helping. Giving him this old man grumpy attitude which I think is justified and just fun to write.
I don’t wanna bombard y’all with too much lore, but I hope you like Atom and would love to answer any questions as I’m sure this ways probably confusing lol

Note
what are some inspirations for your artwork?
In addition, I decided to add inspiration for the story as well and I hope you don’t mind. XD
Please also note that there will be spoilers for the media that inspired my work below. \(^^ )✨
———————————————————————
In general
Overall, Stanley parable and The beginner’s guide are the biggest inspirations for me. I incorporated their elements into every single one of my works both visual wise and story wise but the visuals part might be a bit hard to see as they are overpowered by the other inspirations.
Monrah: the construction gear
Character designs: The early draft of the main automata designs was inspired by Drawn and Puppet show series, hence their gothic stream-punk undertone. In their current design, I took extra inspirations from Atomic heart, adding atomic-punk element then modernized the design.
Art direction: Rethink series and Q.U.B.E. 2 are my introduction to Solarpunk aesthetic, the stylish modern scenery decorated with plant look so luxurious and calming yet also very curious and somehow unsettling.
Story: The first Cube movie had always stuck with me, a story about a group of people stuck inside a cube full of trap that can only be identified using mathematics. One of these people use to work with a company associate with this cube but even him had no idea what on earth is going on.
Aeromarine and the horizon
Character designs: For this one, I based the angel designs on runway configurations and decorate them in military ceremonial uniforms I found on Google.
Airac, L-da => Parallel runway
Cardio, Semaphore => Single runway
Qeybec, Kiosk => Open V runway
Navtex, Ifalpa => Intersecting runway
Art direction: The digital watercolor art style I see on the internet, unfortunately I can’t quite pinpoint which artist since I randomly search watercolor artstyle on Google. But the first art of digital watercolor style color that makes me want to apply it to my work is probably the trailer of a gacha game name Mementos Mori on YouTube.
Story: Irresponsible captain Tylor is one of the most interesting comedy series in my opinion and yes, this is fortunately and unfortunately the reason that Emma is a brunette-
Viator Theory
Character designs: Initially the wizards were meant to be magical boys but I scrapped the idea. Still, I draw inspiration from many magical girl animes for their designs.
Polnoch => Sugar sugar rune, hence his witch theme appearance.
Morgen => Princess tutu, hence his white and pink color palette.
Soir => Cardcaptor Sakura, specifically the dress in the first opening of the original series.
Orden => Saint tail, but I don’t know why he retain nothing from her designs.
Mint => Precure, specifically Cure white and Cure egret.
Rito => Tokyo new mew, hence his strawberry and animal motif.
Art direction: The way Jazz Punk use their funky sharp color is a lot of fun and full of personality, and since my wizard are pretty funky themselves. I thought I’d be fitting to apply that to Viator theory.
Story: Tales of phantasia is a product of its time when it comes to writing, I have a lot of personal interpretation on Cress that I ended up applying on Viator theory.
The game introduces Cress to us as a loving hero, the vanilla protagonist who just lost his parents. But every once in a while, he snap and said cruel things. Cress doesn’t let himself grieve so he’s stuck in the anger phase. This lead to him taking action guided by rage, chasing the man who kill his parents through every single timelines then in the end where we actually get to know the man Cress had been hunting down, we find out that Cress is (kinda) the true villain of the story.
Paralogram
Character designs: Noah and Eden start off as ocs for Antichamber and Manifold garden crossover fanfiction. I ended up liking the designs so much I made my own world for them.
Art direction: Also Antichamber and Manifold garden, Manifold garden was also inspired by Antichamber so their art directions are very similar. A clean and sharp edge scenery that constantly play trick on the eyes.
Story: ‘Which’, it’s a short game about solving puzzles while a headless and heartless mannequin stalks or accompanied you depending on your interpretation. At the end of the game you either find her heart or her head and the mannequin will make the final decision whether you’ll live or die.
C2ISTAR
Character designs: Squirrel and Hedgehog and its fandom specifically; Sahbeetle, Stukka and SG. There are many talented artists in the fandom and C2ISTAR start off as SaH OCs but I find the cannon world building to be a bit too restrictive so I ended up making my own settings.
Art direction: Command and conquer: Red alert, I love the cool and professional look of the game.
Story: I base each character on people that I know in real life and plotted the story base on my personal work experience in civil aviation. I exaggerated it using all kind of military actions film as an inspiration mainly MacGyver, a series about a spy who refused to use gun and instead use science and engineering to fend off the bad guy.
Light Effects
Character designs: The main trio designs are heavily inspired by Fire emblem series, they were originally planned to be the gods that appeared in Aeromarine and the Horizon so I incorporate iconic Christian figures into their designs.
Raynor => Alm + Nurse Nitingale
Lennard => Leif + Jean de arc
Arland => Roy + Mother Mary
But I got intrigued with fan interpretation on these characters so I changed the idea into a fan fiction but realized I made too much change to these characters so I revise them into my OCs.
Art direction: I adore the excessive use of intricate metal decorations in Dream chronicle series and since Light effects trio are already cladded in armor, I thought I might as well take the opportunity and tried it out.
Story: Cry of fear inspired me the idea of character coping with their health condition and Fear and Hunger’s penance armor give me the idea for the needle. Light effects story were originally very gritty like both of its inspiration but I’m not good enough of a writer to handle that level of narrative yet so it ended up being so dark that it desensitized every sad scene and make all the suffering in the story meaningless.
Thus I took additional inspiration from True love next door to balance it out and aiming for more of tragicomedy tone.
Binary Stella (in very early and slow development state)
Character designs: Puyo Puyo series, after being fooled by its cutesy artstyle and cheery soundtrack although Schezo’s dialogue concerns me. I dig into some of characters story specifically Lemres followed by Schezo and now I can never look at this series the same way ever again-
Regardless their characters design are so cute that I took Polnoch and Morgen’s scarp first draft and redesigned them with Lemres and Klug as an inspiration.
Art direction: I’ve always want to try the first two Phantasmat games style of shading where they strictly limited the color palette for light and shadow to create coherency in starkingly different environments so I immediately try it on Northlight and Southstar.
Story: Also Puyo puyo series, the amount of insanity hidden in their story is too much to not take inspiration from it-

Thank you so much for the ask!✨

figured i should introduce you all to my oc TRICKSTER!
A chaotic jester with a knack for theater, Trickster is, well, a trickster. He pulls pranks on everyone he knows, from whoopie cushions to an atomic bomb in the fridge! He doesn’t really care for the lives of others, toying with people like little puppets.
His body is sort of rubberhose, able to stretch and bend with no mistake. His hands and feet can also detach from his body, his head being able to be held and tossed around like a ball.
I love this little bastard. He’s also based off Shadow Milk Cookie and Carnival!Jax

________________________
Circa 38 BBY (1996)
Knowledge is power. Ignorance is weakness. The unknown is dangerous to those who survive in the shadows, behind the curtains of the civilized world. An environment the Sith of the Rule of Two have mastered as their domain. All trespassers examined, understood, conquered, and sometimes, eliminated. There are no immovable stones for those who give themselves fully to the Dark Side.
That is their reality, until it isn’t.
Darth Plagueis studies the man, if that is an appropriate classification, as he has many times before. As Darth Tenebrous did before him. The man who stands immovable, and bold, before the Dark Lords of the Sith.
He’s using the name Waylon, but he changes them out in fashion every forty years or so. Red herrings for the peculiarity that his body, near-human with light skin, black hair, and scales on his lower back, never ages.
His eyes are always so empty.
That’s the only thing Plagueis ever discovered about him that Waylon didn’t tell him directly. After trying to dispose of the man by cutting off his head, only for it to instantly regenerate, he’d tried to break the man’s iron mind again. Ramming it with the full force of the Dark Side, and only wounding himself. Waylon was impenetrable. But one truth he did realize, trying to wrap his mind around the other’s, was that the man was not really the man. This body was a puppet on strings. Whatever sentience of its own that it may have once possessed had been hollowed out long ago, controlled by a distant being.
The being now calling itself Waylon is unknowable; immovable. Casually interested, for unknown motives, in the affairs of the two Sith Lords, one now deceased.
Darth Plagueis cannot move him. But he can use him.
“You are proposing something beyond what even the Kaminoans could conceive.”
Waylon draws another puff of smoke from his cigar. “Naturally.”
“You know of a more advanced engineer. The one who designed the body you’re using.”
Waylon looks amused, smiling in a way that makes his mouth look unnaturally wide, stretched beyond what the skin would normally allow. “A unit like this would not suit your purposes. More likely aggravate your concerns. It’s such an old design anyways. Brilliant for its time, but my kin have been stagnant in improvements. Their vision withered from lack of use; seeing only one kind of power.”
“Perhaps you overestimate my apprentice.”
“You’d be settling for a product mismatched to your needs. I thought you understood the subtleties of what truly creates the right advantage. Precision is more important than raw power.”
“What are you offering?”
“True innovation. You’d be only one of a group of clients, but I know you have the diplomacy to ensure your criteria is prioritized.”
The muun balks. “Such popularity is an unacceptable risk. The rumors…”
“Will not exist. They are bound to their solar system in a galaxy far beyond your hyperspace barrier.”
The man’s casual tone never altered, and he stands as relaxed as he did before, as if he did not just describe an impossibility. Plagueis’ eyes narrow. “Intergalactic travel between distant galaxies was only known to the ancients.”
“True, but not all the ancients had such short, mortal lives. Some still live on, the old familiar and dull to them, the modern obscure and intriguing.” He smiles. “That’s why I like you, Damask. You understand the need to evolve.”
Plagueis withholds his belief. “For one who implies to be daring, you seem quite comfortable in the vague.”
“Secrets shouldn’t be scattered freely like grain, but nurtured and reserved for those who can truly cultivate their potential.”
“And why would you bestow me with such a gift?”
“Because this engineer is going to build a weapon that will send tremors throughout the universe, and he needs someone who will have the vision to use it.”

Hiya! So I have a question/theory not exactly about hawks but the concept of quirks in the mha universe. So I had this thought and I was wondering do you think it would be possible for a character to have a quirk like whenever they played an instrument the people around them would immediately go into a sleepy, sedated state?? Or basically if it's possible for a person's quirk to be like not be biologically a part of their body (ie: anything they paint comes to life)
OOH OOH OOH!!!! I was going to write requests, but I just HAD to jump on this immediately. I like the way you think, anon! Asking some very important lore-based questions!
My short answer to your theory is “Mostly no, but kind of yes? Depends on the specifics and how you explain it.” So let me explain! I go on a bit where I geek out over Shinsou’s quirk, but I’ll keep the whole debacle under the cut. I hope you enjoy it!
Minor spoilers for explanations about how Shinsou’s quirk works from the manga.
HeroAca is at it’s core a science fantasy world - wherein inhuman feats instead of being written away by magic are given a plausible-enough “scientific” explanation to help the audience’s suspension of belief. It doesn’t have to be completely accurate but it has to make just enough sense to feel grounded in the real world and also makes it easy to put limitations on it. Quirks are explicitly described as being genetic. How they got written into the human genome is unknown, but it’s crystal clear that biological lineage is the key to passing down quirks. (All for One and One for All being glaring exceptions to the rule, even in universe.)
This is how we’re able to put “glycerin sweat” with “ sweaty, sparking palms” and get “combustible explosive sweat from the hands” or “ice” plus “fire” equals “fire and ice.”
Therefore, quirks are inherently connected via some biological component. However, how that manifests itself has a lot of potential, and it mainly has to do with the property being manifested to begin with. For example:
Tetsu Tetsu has the ability to harden his body into steel - specifically his skin. This is physical composition of his body that he is able to change at will, but he cannot change the composition of something he touches even though that organ which possesses the shifting ability comes in contact. His quirk is limited to his body, period.
Momo’s ability to create inanimate matter is manifested through her adipose tissue (fat). She requires both the energy and atoms required to produce matter directly from her own body. These things can exist outside her body but she ceases to be able to affect their composition the moment it’s no longer part of her body.
Ochako is able to nullify the effect of gravity on any body she touches - inanimate, living, herself, etc. However, this effect only works after she has physically come into contact with it and only from the pads on her fingertips. Her quirk originates from her body but leaves lingering effects as long as she doesn’t cancel them.
All of the above are easy examples of “my body changes myself/something else and my quirk depends on my body to do so.” However, let’s look at an example that feels more “intangible” which I think is what you’re going for.
Shinsou is a super interesting one and so far the closest to what you’re trying to describe. His quirk, we know, is biologically coded into every cell in his body, but how it manifest, though a bit of a mystery, has a pretty logical explanation depending on how we parse it out.
He has the ability to sedate his human target and force their body to do rudimentary tasks via vocal commands - effectively making them a human puppet adhering to his will. However, the way it both takes effect and manifests is particularly interesting, so I’ll drop the frames and extrapolate in a moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To break it down, Hitoshi’s quirk works as thus:
He must intentionally choose and FOCUS on his target in order to activate phase one of his quirk
His voice may be modified via his artificial vocal cords, but he cannot transform his voice digitally (mini theory on this at the end)
He must then get them to respond to him directly (it’s implied this is vocally, but the way it’s worded sounds almost like they need to consciously respond in some way instead of blocking him out)
Once he has control, he can make them do virtually anything with their body but their brain and voice are useless.
To me, it sounds like Hitoshi’s quirk actively hijacks his target’s brain by suppressing the higher functions and taking over some of the lower ones. My best “rational” explanation is some audible property in his voice (it’s presumably outside the spectrum of human hearing) is able to first bait the parts of the brain that control cognition and neutralize them when it “opens itself” up via cognitive reply. From there, cognition is suppressed and he takes over what I presume is the midbrain and sections of the gray matter physically responsible for motor control.
Sounds crazy, but while the sound aspect is unusual, this kind of thing actually exists in real life! Check out parasitic fungus and worms that turn prey like ants and snails into “zombies” by taking over their brain and doing their bidding in order to complete their life cycle.
If you can explain an OC’s quirk like THAT, you’re gold!
If you wanted one that plays music that makes people in the immediate vicinity sleepy and sluggish, explain it by saying that something about the sound stimulates the brain into producing melatonin or effects the thyroid. It doesn’t have to be clear exactly how (though extra points if you can make it as scientific as you can) but if it’s plausible ENOUGH, it works. It could be like in Hitoshi’s case where it isn’t the so much the noise we hear but some unheard component that does the work and she just chose, say, a flute because it puts people at ease and she’s liked it since she was a kid.
The “paintings to life” is a bit trickier. If you wanted to fit this in the lore of the series I’d say whatever substance she animates has to come from her body. However, an easy workaround is that she could produce her own paint! She adds the pigment separately, but the clear medium is whatever substance she produces from her body that she can control. The medium is basically how acrylic and oil paints are different - The shade of color can be exactly the same, but the medium it floats in will act and perform differently which is a great metaphor if she has difficultly controlling the “living” medium without a visualization to get it to do what she wants!
I hope that was a fun breakdown of how I think you can adapt seemingly random superpowers into the rules of the series. It takes some real-world knowledge to do so, but the cool part is that the physical world is capable of SO much that we’re barely scratching the surface of understanding. Doing even just a couple of hours of research can get you enough information to come up with a power that not only could plausibly work but also has the bonus of building in a weakness for power balance!
This is super fun! I love when you guys send me theories like this!!!!
Bonus mini theory! “Could Shinsou’s quirk work over old analog technology?”
Something interesting to note is the auditory angle he needs to use his quirk, and my theory is that the auditory component may force his target’s brain into doing the actual sedation work for him. In real life, our brains and bodies are very much effected by sonic waves, even those we can’t hear. It’s theorized that infrasound - sound outside our hear-able spectrum) caused by structural unsoundness, some machinery, and more might be reason humans consistently perceive certain locations as haunted. I mentioned this in my theory about Hawk’s sensory sensitivity but it’s worth mentioning again here.
I specifically mentioned “digitally” above because analog and digital sound waves are structurally different which may be why it’s not some specific noise we physically hear but actually the vibration of the sound wave itself that does the brainwashing. Here’s a picture of analog vs digital waves to demonstrate what I mean.
Tumblr media
See how analog is smooth but digital is a series of plateaus? Now I don’t have much formal education to back myself up from here on out, but the way I understand it is digital is basically just a complicated series of “on’s” and “off’s”/”yes” and “no” so it’s literally impossible for it to achieve that smooth curve in analog. Look at what it does to a sample in this graph.
Tumblr media
While, to our ears, the digital interpretation of the analog signal is close enough that we wouldn’t hear the difference, the structure has been chewed up all to hell! Though we don’ have a whole lot of information one way or the other, I can’t help but wonder if those splines (the curvy lines between points) are where the magic happens. He even says outright that voice modulating technology (almost all of which is now exclusively digital) distorts his voice too much. Old technology used to work on materials that operated on these analog waves, so I can’t help but wonder if that would do the trick. It obviously wouldn’t work on a gramophone since without the active focusing his quirk requires it’s still a useless sound bite, but if he were to, say, speak over an old telephone would that work?
It’s entirely possible that there’s some other property in his voice that needs proximity to work (such as a frequency analog broadcasting can’t replicate) so he needs to be physically close to his target, or just the fact that analog technology is clunky and potentially more hassle that it’s worth that would make this a moot point; but I couldn’t help myself diving a little deeper.
