I enjoy how the Tantas were apparently so distracted by their conflicts regarding Athia's rebuilding that they just... didn't realize that all the Labyrinths had been burgled.
No one thought to pop down to visit the ancient Rheddig superweapon after just having a bizarrely short, sudden war with the Rheddig.
...in retrospect, I wonder if that was a result of a Rheddig plan to hit hard and fast, not really to sustain a proper war but to inflict a lot of sudden damage that would keep everyone busy for years afterward so they could puzzle back their bird demon.
