I feel like you should know that your art has singlehandedly inspired me to take up digital art again, do you have any tips for starting out?
Omg thank you so much, that is really wholesome and I am glad to hear I was able to inspire someone! The number one tip I have and it is a very predictable one but IT IS PRATICE! There is no running away from practice! Just keep drawing and YOU WILL SEE AN IMPROVEMENT! However, the way I learned to draw was by looking up a bunch of artists I like online and discovering videos and resources! So I will share here a list of cool and fun youtube channels that helped me over the years and still do to this day! Some of these channels have tutorials, art talk, speedpaints... So hopefully you will find something useful here! ^^ Here's a list: Kienan Lafferty: https://www.youtube.com/@KienanLafferty/videos Sinix Design: https://www.youtube.com/@sinixdesign/videos Marc Brunet: https://www.youtube.com/@YTartschool/videos Atey Ghailan: https://www.youtube.com/@ateyghailan9353/videos Ahmed Aldoori: https://www.youtube.com/@AhmedAldoori/videos Proko: https://www.youtube.com/@ProkoTV/videos Sam Does Arts: https://www.youtube.com/@samdoesarts/videos Kiwi Byrd: https://www.youtube.com/@KiwiByrd/videos ABD Illustrates: https://www.youtube.com/@ABDIllustrates/videos Jenna Drawing: https://www.youtube.com/@JennaDrawing/videos Bluebiscuits: https://www.youtube.com/@bluebiscuits/videos Kaycem: https://www.youtube.com/@KaycemCrew/videos

Tumblr media
Ejemplo: “A portrait of a grogu skull face, angel, wings, in the style of artgerm, van gogh, atey ghailan and steve mccurry, vibrant colors and hard shadows and strong rim light, lucien freud, comic cover art, trending on artstation with flowers” - Stable Diffusion.
(https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/).
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Ejemplo Final: Una foto mía con el prompt “a man looking at the camera van gogh painting”, Stable diffusion model 1.4

Heavily inspired by Ghibli Films but Atey puts his own unique spin on it. And if I’m being honest I like his style a little better 😏

Valorant.
To me, i always knew this as my generation's tinder with a CSGO minigame. Thanks to me and my big mouth, a friend offered me $25 to play this and try it out. I thought "oh, i just have to suffer through a few hours of this game for a fortnite skin. why not?" What i ended up getting in turn was an amazing discovery.
I'll gloss over the gameplay. It's essentially CSGO, but with the mechanics of a hero shooter. When i first played, i was annoyed as to how slow it was. After learning how the game works i understood quickly why it's like that. The characters (better known as agents) are able to utilize abilities during combat. Each one is unique, bringing unique playstyles to the to the table, and plenty of room for player expression. Lime walked me through many of them. The game's very fast paced, for me. I spent my first few minutes getting clipped. I still managed to get one kill though. It felt great.
To me, the most impressive part of the game is everything else. From models, to animations, to voice acting, a lot of this game's personality comes from the art team and it's some of the most glorious shit i've gotten to witness. For a hero shooter, you know that characters are the star of the show. They're all amazing. My favorite quickly became the impulsive Phoenix. The animation team lives and breathes these characters. I was very surprised as to what i was seeing, they have so much personality, even with the first person view. From the way they handle their abilities, hovering over them on the selection screen, to how they reload their guns, playing each character feels like you're behind a completely different person every time. These characters bend, stretch, just- all rules of animations are being used perfectly here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the art itself, i think this is some of the best i've seen in a videogame. They've crafted this glass-like paint look for it's identity. It extents to all of it's promotional art. The people at riot have mastered it and i enjoy seeing anything they put out. The works of Suke, Envar Studio & Atey Ghailan are jaw dropping.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After trying the game out, i kinda went into a deep dive of lore and everything related. Valorant has jaw dropping cinematics that correspond with major updates of the game. It also has a thriving competitive scene that Riot continuously uplifts.
I really have to hand it to Riot, because their taste in design of all forms, music, and gameplay appeals to a lot of people my age. There are so many companies that dream of pulling it off as well as they do. I like the work put into this game. I don't think i'll play it often, but i'll definitely hop on for some custom games with friends, if they ask.
Thanks for the push, Lime.
