Thank you for the request, I finally got to it :D Five fics that I've written which are my favourite - (and I had to choose only those I've already finished, but a lot of my fav settings are in the long long chaptered poly fics x)) 1. Caught In the Downpoor – Sky/Rain, Love in The Air I love the entire trilogy I wrote because it was a silly whimsy idea that we had a lot of fun developing on discord and then I started writing it, and other people supported it too and now there are so many awesome SkyRain fics out there that absolutely fit my taste with ADHD, platonic bdsm and close friendship vibes. This is just such a comfort ghost ship for me that is popular enough to constantly return to xD I might even write fourth story for them one day! Who knows when inspiration hits but I'm not really done with those weather besties.

2. Young And Menace - Sand/Ray, Todd/Black, Not Me + Only Friends I love this one because crossovers of any Thai BL with Not Me is an amazing idea, in my opinion. And since we got to know Sand lived in the same building as Black, and we didn't get to see him using his bat, I took the headcanon of them being friends and ran with it xD Plus, I think, this story just poured out of me in one sitting and I didn't really know what was going to happen, but all of them ended up very emotional. And poetical. And I consider it well written so yeah, my fav!

3. I let you paint me in black - Black/|Yok, Not Me I am back with my Not Me fics and ghost ships :D We joked on NM discord that Yok definitely tried to get it on with all of gang members, and he's also the kinky one - meanwhile Black is on the violent side. I put handcuffs on Yok, gave Black some tools and played with them like dolls. And as expected, they had a lot of fun! This and its sequel fic are some of my short stories that I write in one sitting simply for an idea but I think I managed to capture some tension between these characters which I don't usually have in my stories.

4. Capturing the sight of a broken soul - Nick/|Sand, Nick/Boston, Only Friends Uh... I don't need to put a disclaimer about another ghost ship, do I? I just love platonic bonds and close friendship that are borderline romantic or touchy. And somebody needed to comfort Sand after everything he's been through! Come on! And Nick had to repay with his kindness and softness back. Also I challenged myself to write Boston's POV here which was... extremely fun! I was thinking how he and Sand could get to a more friendly side, and I think I found the way.

5. Boredom is a crime - Korn/Wai, Bad Buddy Last but not least, this was my first ever fic I wrote for Thai BL series. Which was on itself fascinating, as I haven't been really writing for years in my other kpop fandom. But meeting other fans and ficwriters, getting overwhelming support and attention for my works and forming community felt so inspiring that I started writing and drawing for myself and for fun again. It was also the time when I challenged myself to write coherent stories in English, and I practiced on BBS and NM. Also I should really write more (even more) asexual and ADHD characters... Anyway, Korn's POV is still my favourite and I had a lot of fun and it's a very important milestone.

It was a nostalgic journey, and I remembered once again what I love writing about. I never know what message do I give but I hope my stories are simply comforting or fun to explore for other people =)

WiJ 2022 - 01: (Re)introduce Yourself

Intro!!

Hi, I'm emc, and I write whump of original characters in original settings! I've had this blog since some time in August last year (2021), and in these short few months, I've come a long way in the whump community. Everyone I've met here is wonderful and friendly and I've enjoyed every second of whumpblr and whump discord.

I've had at least a vague awareness about my taste for (fictional) blood since I was a kid around 5 or 6, but I first remember seeking the whumperflies in my teens (I'll get more into that in tomorrow's post :3c), and later still, I discovered Whumpblr posts through Pintrest, and joined a whump discord server a few years later, and then made this blog a year after that ^-^' . Getting into whump is the best thing I've ever done tbh, it's the gift that keeps on giving.

(I can now run off whump derived dopamine instead of trying to be happy!! /j/j/j/j)

Some fun facts are... I'm Australian, I do karate, I'm in the Danny Phantom fandom, I have an interest in cutting gems and other semiprecious stones, I have three cats, I love plants and gardening, and my favourite colour is unironically a deep, cool red. I also draw!

Project Updates!

Since joining the community, I have made tremendous progress on my nearest and dearest project Shifting Phases! Not only do I now have a rough idea of how to get everyone to the end scenes, I've actually started writing it!!! I'm super excited! I want to get it beta read in its entirety before I post it though, so it's a long way off yet. (As a byproduct, this means that I'll never post the fic unfinished lmao)

This story has spawned an AU that somehow manages to be darker. It's still in the ideation phases (brainrot spam to all of my whump friends on discord, rip them), so it'll be a little while before you see much posted about this one :3

My friend I recently made a lot of progress on Satanus Magus! We have basically the whole plot figured out, it just needs to be beefed up with some scenes. I look forward to writing that all out in the word doc void :)

My friend and I actually hope to publish this irl one day, so, That's A Thing!

It's an older idea of mine, it spawned in around 2018... But getting out of school and into this community has really boosted my creativity (bouncing ideas around is a powerful tool). It's like an action movie, but instead of guns and explosions, it's elemental magic and explosions!! It's not an outright whumpy fic, but ofc bc I'm involved, there are definitely a lot of whump themes.

Lastly, I have a new fic idea kicking around in my head involving a vampire and a human. It's still veeeerrryyy early days for it, but I'm already in love with the concept, and I have been sorely lacking in vampire whump for many years. I look forward to working with Malté and Corwin >:3c though I'm sure the same eagerness is not extended back -rubs my evil little handses together-

I love it when circumstances are what leads to the whump. Not all of my whumpees have whumpers at all times, and where the whump comes from often fluctuates, but a common theme of my works is that the whump is primarily a product of circumstance that enables my characters to be whumped, whether by another person (whumper), or otherwise.

Self-Shippers of tumblr, today is a very special day...

Today, January 17th, marks the one-year anniversary of me being with Clairen, my main romantic F/O. 🖤❤️🖤

It was on this day last year that I first downloaded Lovers of Aether to try out, and at the time, I had next to no idea that not only would I come out of the experience with a whole host of F/Os (That take up roughly 70% of my entire F/O list, in fact), but that I would also meet perhaps my most doted over romantic F/O.

I've spoken to great lengths about how my affection toward Clairen came to be a few times before, which you can read all about in these two posts here and here, so there isn't a whole lot more I can detail in terms of how I felt when I first saw her...

... but what I can talk about was the impact she had on my life. I don't think I've ever fallen for a romantic F/O harder than I did for Clairen. Immediately after meeting her in Lovers of Aether, she became my top fictional crush, bar none.

I pulled off the perfect playthough of her route in Lovers of Aether, ultimately ending in her agreeing to go to the homecoming dance with me. I began using her as my go-to character in pretty much every Rivals of Aether match I played onward. I woke up at six in the morning to order her plush. I snagged every single issue of Tales of Aether once they released just to see her beautiful face.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that the biggest reason that I chose to make a self-shipping side blog in the first place was because of the immense love I had for Clairen, in addition to the other F/Os I picked up from the Aether franchise. Granted, what I'm about to say applies to all of my F/Os, but I'm sure you can imagine that there is something particularly special to me about her...

Clairen genuinely makes me happy.

Even the thought of her is enough to get me smiling like a complete dork. I have held my Clairen plush in my arms far more times than you might imagine, seeing as it's the closest thing I have to being in her embrace... it's a good thing her plush is the biggest of the lot. There have been days in this past year where life has been hard... so hard, that some days it was an impossibility to even keep my eyes open. But every time I felt that nothing was going right...

I would think of Clairen. I would think about the way she would hold her hand in mine. I would think about the way she would gush about me to other people. I would think about the way her face lights up whenever she laughs. I would think about those serene moments where it's just the two of us, gazing endlessly into one another's eyes...

Clairen makes me feel loved.

And for our one year anniversary together... I just had to draw her.

I am tremendously proud of this drawing of her, in part because of how much of an improvement it is over the drawing I made of her last year, but also keep in mind that I drew this all in one afternoon, and managed to finally perfect drawing Clairen in my artstyle.

I had also initially planned on writing Clairen a letter in this post in a similar fashion to how I wrote one for my big sis Ayala here, but... I feel as though this entire post is one big love letter in itself. My love for Clairen has been made more than apparent with how long this post is and the drawing of her that I made, I find.

Lovers of Aether might credit itself to be 'a friendship game', but to me, it's more than that. It's a game about friendship, family, and true to its name, love...

i haven't felt this way since i first read fullmetal alchemist, but i really want to own the physical volumes of dungeon meshi / delicious in dungeon. in fact i actually like it better than fma LMAO

they have a couple of interesting plot similarities:

the sacrificial nature of the world they inhabit (amestris, the dungeon) is a major plot twist in the last third/quarter of the material that the entire work had been foreshadowing since the very beginning

forbidden alchemy / magic used to resurrect people (who then come back wrong) is an important plot point that one of our main characters actually attempts

the main character's relationship with his sibling (ed & al, laios & falin) is one of the most (if not the most) important relationships in the entire work, and is underscored by the main character's desire to restore his sibling's body to its natural state

the protagonist of the B plot is an ambitious politicker who is managing the political situation at home while the A plot protagonists are off adventuring

the author is a woman who is not afraid to draw women of all kinds of different body shapes & write women into important roles; there are a refreshing amount of female characters who are movers & shakers, and their relationships with other characters don't solely rely on their romantic ties

however, there are a couple of key differences that warm me to dungeon meshi more than fma:

fma is basically military fiction. like, it has to be, that's the nature of the plot, and it's not a good or bad thing that it's military fiction, i just don't really like military fiction LMAO. i kind of like fma in spite of it.

whereas dungeon meshi is an extremely interesting deconstruction of dungeons & dragons, which i've been playing off and on since i was in high school, so it hits more nostalgic notes for me. it asks questions like "how do all of these monsters survive in these dungeons," and "could you cook and eat the monster of the week and sustain yourself that way," and "what happens to the economy & the general perspective on death when resurrection magic is a real thing used consistently to revive adventurers," and "how are the politics & interpersonal relationships informed by races that are extremely long-lived and races that are extremely short-lived living together." it's REALLY interesting for that alone, because these are questions i've often asked myself as a DM while constructing / working with tabletop fantasy, and i love how dungeon meshi chooses to answer them

(also the "boss" of a dungeon simultaneously has a meta role of literally becoming the dungeon's dungeon master, like, altering the structure of the dungeon & therefore the campaign, which is great to read as someone who is a habitual DM)

i like the fight scenes in dm better than fma, because the reason these characters fight is different. they want to eat! dm deals with the food chain and incorporates that into the logic of its combat scenes, which is really unusual and super cool; despite being sometimes more gross than fma (you see them cutting up the meat, there's a lot of monster biology) i'm actually less grossed out by it than i was fma, because i find it fascinating instead. as much as i'm hooked on the major plot, the reason i got into dm at all was because i was also extremely hooked on the chapter-to-chapter subplots, which boil down to "how are laios and friends gonna eat the monster this time."

i like the B plot protagonist (kabru) WAYYYY more than fma's B plot protagonist (mustang). i have really cooled on mustang over the years. and kabru's just so much more likable IMO, effusive but cunning, and also the homoerotic undertones he has with both laios and mithrun are fantastic.

there are a lot of minor characters in both fma and dm, but by the end of fma i felt incredibly bogged down by the sheer number of the minor characters, whereas i haven't hit that point in dm... yet lol. the canaries (minus mithrun) are starting to weigh down the story imo because of the sheer amount of them. but i still find the minor character load in dm to be a bit lighter than fma's

unfortunately, as cool as most of the women in fma are, i don't think you could call any of them "main characters." winry comes the closest, but she doesn't really travel with the main group, and there are entire arcs where we don't see much of her at all. in dm, marcille is with the party from the very beginning and gets a ton of screen time, and izutsumi joins at about the halfway point, so we've got more woman-focused screen time already, especially in combat scenes. (they're also trying to save another woman, falin, but that's a damsel plot which isn't entirely the same thing--though i certainly feel like she counts as a main character from the sheer number of flashbacks we get about her lol.)

also, crucially, as much as dm's focal relationship is between laios and falin, i would actually say that the relationship between falin and marcille is what drives the plot, since their relationship is the unspoken reason behind why marcille has her face-heel turn at the endgame (falin was her first friend as much as she was falin's, and was the person after her father that made her acutely aware of her friends' imminent mortality; she uses dark magic on screen for the first time specifically to resurrect falin; most of their flashback scenes are staged to foreshadow marcille's desire to become the dungeon master; she is currently keeping falin's body in a block of ice to preserve her for resurrection; marcille's desire to keep falin around mirrors thistle's desire to keep the old king around; etc). i would honestly say the marcille & falin relationship is probably the most important to the actual text of the story. i don't mean that in a "lesbian rep" way, because i don't think it is (even though you couldn't possibly ignore the homoerotic undertones), but the fact that the central core of the story is about these two women is EXTREMELY compelling to me, since i still think that's rare in highly circulated fantasy stuff.

anyway. fma doesn't have a comparable relationship. the major women rarely interact with each other, and if they do, it's in cool but superficial ways (izumi and olivier briefly bonding over a fight, etc). there is nothing in fma that comes close to being marcille & falin, which is by far the relationship i'm the most invested in at this point.

dm is funnier. i don't usually laugh out loud while reading manga, but every chapter usually has at least one joke that makes me laugh, and occasionally i encounter a couple of side-splitters. the comedy is also double-edged, because SO MANY jokes return later as extremely serious plot points. the comedic-to-serious foreshadowing in dm is extremely impressive. fma is just more consistently grim in a way that's kind of a downer, and that's fine and all, but especially when it's as long as it is, i enjoy having more humor (i should also say GOOD humor, because bad jokes are worse than no jokes) interspersed with the seriousness.

finally, dm has not been discussed & analyzed to death. fma is a tumblr darling, everybody loves it and talks about it all the time, but as the years wore on i got less and less interested in the same meta being discussed over and over. dm is newer and not quite as popular on tumblr, so it's more fun to be into & think about. i imagine if it ever reaches the same peaks that fma has in terms of popularity, i will probably cool on it eventually too, but that's not happening any time soon.

(also weirdly enough dm has more than a little in common with the works of yasumi matsuno, but that's a post for another day)

When I was a dumb teen (and very new to the also then very new world of the internet), I absolutely didn't understand self-inserts; it was such a mary sue/gary stue sort of thing to me back then.

This mindset luckily changed when I rolled into my twenties and also got to learn more about how fandoms and whatnot work. As said, the internet was so new and a rarity in households then, my world was tiny during my teen years; I was very uninformed. While I personally don't feel any deep/real attraction to fictional characters, as in wishing they were real so I could date/marry them, I can form an understanding towards the people who do.

I won't lie though... People who *heavily* (romantically/sexually/emotionally) rely on a fictional character to be able to function in the real world do make me a little uncomfortable but I won't chastise them for it. Stuff's complicated, life can suck hard for a lot of us, and you don't really control who or what you like on such levels. ~~~

Uff, touchy subject right there. I'm all for the 'ship and let ship' vibe of pro-shippers, I am, it's what pro-shipping means and stands for. But I personally draw lines when minors get involved with an adult in a ship, fictional or not. Those are the type of ships I can't ever support. It doesn't feel right. But that's me, this is a personal issue and gripe.

That said, I am not going to scream at people who do ship that sorta stuff with the whole 'DO NOT INTERACT' entitled bullshit some people pull in places. You aren't responsible for what *I* view online; I am. It's my own responsibility. And the same goes for everyone else; while I tag a lot already, I am NOT responsible for what you view online. You have to mediate that yourself, always. For instance, I don't go through EVERY account that follows me, leaves a like/favorite or leaves a comment to *check* if they interact with the things I don't approve of. That's a stupid thing to do, that's like opening up your own wounds and willingly pour salt into them. If I do check someone's account (because their avatar looks cute or the previewed art on their account looks nice) and I find stuff on there I don't approve of, I back out and leave it at that. If what I see is really bad, I might mute.

I do understand that some people feel the need to mention DNIs as a warning, for their own well-being. I very often have an understanding for it too; I give all the thumbs-ups to people that have DNIs but don't publicly go on a rampage or throw a public tantrum when someone does break their set DNIs. It's those who do and whine about it ALL THE DAMN TIME and keep aggresively shoving the DNIs in people's faces that get on my nerves (aka, the entitled ones). PS: Not everyone who leaves a Like on your art also checks your profile or carrd; there's a high chance they saw the art pass by on their feed, left a Like and then carried on with living/browsing. Not everyone is purposedly out to get you or make you feel miserable.

Whew, went on a rant there. Tl;dr version: Ship and let ship. Do allow me to not enjoy/support certain ships and I'll gladly return the same respect to you. ~~~

In turn, I don't understand the hype behind Dream SMP and Technoblade and all the other characters that are popular lately but then i also don't take the time or have the want to look into it. Okay, so, I like this place well enough but I really liked it more when NSFW was still allowed. I keep mentioning it from time to time but it's hard to find another place to post NSFW that has an active userbase and a good tagging system. Tumblr was just right for it (back then!)

I also don't like to make too many reblogs just to respond back to someone else's reblog (with added commentary) of a post. It makes stuff look so cluttered. For years, I've been waiting for a better comment thread function for Tumblr blog posts to easier interact with people but eh... I'm not going to hold my breath anymore for such a feature.

The two of you happily munch on the candy in the kitchen when all of a sudden the two of you heard someone at the door

The two of you turned in sync to see Mother Dearest Amber eyes shining with anger in the dark

“How many times have I told you stealing is bad, and that candy before bed is extremely unhealthy.”

He turned to look at Nobunaga, who looked like a guilty schoolboy “My lord, you are supposed to set the example, how do you expect to be a good big brother if you are influencing her to steal and eat candy before bed.”

Everything was going perfectly according to plan- while Hideyoshi was distracted you snuck a few handfuls of candy in the hidden pockets of you kimono

Once you were done with your mission you chimed in “Yeah big bro how do u expect me to be a good girl when you always dragging me along to steal the candy.”

“Oooooh don’t think I forgot about you, young lady.”

He lectured the two of you for three hours

Luckily Nobunaga’s’sNobunaga’s’s room was right on top of yours and you were experienced in the art of sneaking out to meet up with friends

So you easily climbed up onto his balcony and snuck into his room

The two of you snicked and laughed while munching on candy together

Hideyoshi has full-blown turned into your castle mom

You had been secretly dating some random boy, you met in the market

You twisted your ankle sneaking out your room to go and see him, luckily Mamayoshi was doing his final rounds of the castle and found you hissing on the ground.

He picked you up and patched you up real good

Cue lecture about sneaking out in the middle of the night

The next day the boy broke up with you- cause he a piece o shit

You spent the whole day crying in your room

Cue Mamayoshi barging into your room, cause the maids had informed him that you skipped breakfast!

You would go to Mamayoshi for advice all the freaken time, you really did see him as a mom

Have boy trouble Hideyoshi is there helping ya out and giving you advice, struggling to do the homework Mitsuhide gave you, Mama will sit for hours helping you, someone Is bullying you? Hideyoshi will mom style cut them

Will take you out to tea all the time, and the two of you will low key spill the tea on all the latest gossip

Kenshin

Treats you like a fragile princess

Will be an extremely doting brother

Will 100% teach you how to defend yourself

Feeling sad, Kenshin will legit find the source of your sadness and freaken kill them

Feeling anxious or insecure, Kenshin will be there wrapping you in a big bear hug while drawing soothing circles on your back. He will soothingly comfort you as your cry on his shoulder

Will summon his army of fluff balls to cuddle with you until that smile is back on your face

You like a boy in the market… forget about it. Kenshin is there glaring at the boy… “He is not good enough for my dearest sister.”

You give Kenshin puppy dog eyes “No way bunny, you are still a baby, definitely not old enough to date. Come on, let go get some tea and pickled plumbs to cheer you up.”

You cant say no to Kenshin especially when he gives you his puppy dog eyes in return 

Will always insist on holing your hand when walking in the market together

Will legit kill anyone or anything that threatens you

Will give you platonic forehead and cheek kisses

Loves it when you sass and roll your eyes at Shingen trying to pick up all the woman at banquets 

Will let you sneak a few sips of his sake, and you are the only one he will share his pickled plumbs with

Will send you off to bed when it gets too late, the bunnies have taken quite a liking to you so they will accompany you back to your room and cuddle with you

Masamune

“come on lass lets’s go on an adventure.”

“No way the last time we went on an adventure I was almost killed and both of us got an hour-long lecture about the dangers of waterfalls.”

“Where is your sense of adventure kitten.”

“The same place your sense of safety is, non-existent.’

Drags you with him to go hiking, when you were on the top of the mountain you slipped on some loose gravel. Masamune caught you, and both of you went tumbling into a lake

You couldn’t help but laugh

The two of you splashed around in the water until late into the afternoon

“Quick lass let’s sneak in before mother dearest scolds us for.”

Too late he was already waiting for the two of you

Masa will cook you anything and everything your heart desires, when you tell him you’re on a diet cause some boy called you fat Masamune’s eyes widens.

He will bring your favourite dish an place it just under your nose, you can’t help but crumble damn that smell too good to waste, “Fine but my diet starts tomorrow”, (っ˘ڡ˘ς) you say with a mouth full of food

Lol tomorrow never came and that asshole of a boy was never seen again

Sometimes it was hard to tell who the teenager was you or Masamune, the two of you would always joke around pulling pranks on all the castle residents

You were actually pretty thankful Masamune didn’t drink, cause it made you feel like you weren’t missing out on anything during banquets

At the end of the banquets it would always be you, Masa and Mitsuhide left awake and playing card games till dawn

Will leave Shogetsu with you during times of war. The big cat literally destroys everything

“No way masa, ask Mitsunari to watch him, last time when I woke up he shredded everything in my room”, he just grinned at you “That’s what adds to his cuteness”. (=^・^=)

You narrowed your eyes at him “What’s in it for me”. (¬_¬)

“I’ll bring you back a months supply worth of candy and I Masamune Date will owe you a favour”.

You beamed up at him, that would definitely come in handy one day “Fine I’ll do it”. (｡◕‿◕｡)

You rolled your eyes “I’m your only sister”.

Ieyasu

Would have witty battles with the resident porcupine all of the time

Masamune would literally, howl in laughter when the two of you are at it.

You would juts roll your eyes “Not my fault Ieyasu is always so salty.”

The amount of time the two of you have had an eye-rolling contest is ridiculous

Even though the two of you fight like cats and dog you still enjoy Ieyasu’s’sIeyasu’s’s company

Ieyasu actually shows you his soft side

One day a boy broke your heart

You walked into Ieyasu’s room and looked at him ༼ つ ಥ_ಥ ༽つ

Ieyasu rushed to you and wrapped you up in his arms and let you cry it out

“You know what will be fun” Ieyasu asked with a hint of mischief in this emerald eyes

“What” (“･ω･`) you asked sniffing and wiping the last of your tears away

“If we make that punk regret ever breaking your heart.”

You couldn’t help but give him the biggest brightest smile, the two of you snuck out that night and egged his house

You are the only person privileged enough to know Ieyasu’s soft side

The two of you will have a chilli eating contest

Basically ends with you drinking a gallon of milk and losing all sense of taste “Silly girl this isn’t even the hottest peppers yet.”

You will play matchmaker to get Ieyasu a date/lover

He will legit just roll his eyes at the suggestion, he is way too busy with work

“I found the perfect person for you Yasu, they are sweet, kind you know basically an angel and don’t worry they definitely won’t get put off by your contrary personality.”

Yasu raises a brow “Who” (ーー;)

You snicker a little and burst out laughing “MITSUNAR, he is perfect for you.”

Yasu legit spits out the tea he was sipping on, he was turning as red as a tomato
