Ok, so i could be putting too much thought into this & completely reading into things that Andrea has no intentions of fulfilling, but this is where I'm at with the Stellaride baby slow burn. @chicagofires & @stella-kidd, this is for you 😆
It started clicking for me back in 13x08 when Stella was talking to Ritter when he was spinning out about moving in with Dwayne. She said, "You guys are good. You're just asking for more time. " I started wondering why they'd have Stella be the one to deliver that line versus a Violet or Novak, especially with the baby talk conversation not being addressed since 13x01.
It felt like they were acknowledging the elephant in the room with the audience even though Stellaride themselves haven't. To be fair between the mess with Damon, Stella almost losing her job, the Bishop two parter, Stella & Kelly missing their respective episodes there hasn't really been too many moments where it would have made sense for stellaride to address the elephant in the room. They just need more time.
Prior to last weeks episode getting pulled, we would have had the episodes in this order 13x10- "You got this" a saying very specific to Stella & Stellaride hanging randomly in a children's classroom. Let's face it the call itself was very minor in scale. They could have had that same call at a different location. Hell, it would have made sense for the police cadets that were training to be the ones impacted by the gases, yet they weren't they chose to have it at a community center for young kids. That sign placement being in a childrens classroom, imo was very intentional.
Also, Stella asking Hermann how Mouch did as acting LT. This is a valid question to ask for sure, but it also goes to the topic of her knowing that her rig would be in great hands pending she has to step away. It's finally stabilized after Gallo, Gibson & Damon. Carver seems to be back on track. Ritter is meshing well & clearly stepping up. Mouch jumped right on in as acting LT & didn't miss a beat. Her first baby (T81) is good. ✅️
Next would have been 13x11- Stella's cousin comes to town to reveal family history. At this point I don't think this cousin is coming with ill intent. Again, this is just my feelings. I have nothing to base it off of. Whatever this family history is would have sparked a conversation again with Stellaride. Do I think this conversation would have ended with Stella saying she's ready, no, not exactly. I think it would have ended still up in the air, but the topic at least brought back to the surface & acknowledged. I also think it would give Stella some resolution to some unsolved family trauma. Stella getting closure from her traumatic past ✅️
We say this all the time. STELLARIDE needs big life altering pushes to make decisions most times. Kelly & Stella had been in this weird holding pattern for the majority of early S6, even when Zach was in the picture. They both were dancing around the matter until 6x15, when Stella's trapped with bullets flying (big push). "Kelly for once can you just tell me what you're feeling" (BIG PUSH)
Other notable pushes: Stella breaks up with Kelly in S7, forcing him to choose to be a better man for her. Kelly is unsure if he should propose, 9x15 "I'm never going to leave you happens" he drops to one knee & asks her. Both scared of getting married until 10x21 happens then it's let's get married next week. Kelly kidnapped held at gunpoint. Don't you have a wife & kids? 12x11 prompted 12x13 confession of maybe we start our own... BIG PUSHES
So what's the BIG PUSH for S13? Oh idk maybe the first crossover in 5 years. In the last crossover, Kelly verbalized for the first time he saw himself & Stella growing old together with a family of their own. And don't get me wrong I'm not saying she's going to come out of this crossover like omg I want a baby right now but it would be hard for me not to assume that she doesn't come out of it ready to have a genuine CANDID conversation that leads to action.
Ultimately if after 13x12 they still aren't acknowledging the elephant in the room then I'll start to become annoyed again but currently I'm enjoying watching these subtle pieces fall into place & am interested on how they play out. The ONLY thing I'm curious about is how or if them switching the episode, order around will have any impact from a continuity standpoint.
I do not believe these crossover episodes will be standalone & that topics brought up in them won't spill over or show up in other episodes.
Again, I could be way off base here, but these are my thoughts. What are yours?

Okay fuck it, I gotta give in, I gotta watch through Supernatural. AFAIK, it's all on Netflix; at least I saw it on there in passing. Going into this, is there anything I should be aware of? Are there any episodes I should skip, any seasons? Should I start from season 4? I know the basic plot and concept, and I know it's very monster-of-the-week. But aside from me highkey shipping Destiel already, that's all.
Well my first piece of advice would be
Tumblr media
but uh, let’s fucking ~GO~
If you’re actually jumping into this hellhole (why why why) don’t start at season 4. It’s tempting, but seasons 1-3 are some of the best shit in the whole show, also having context for Sam and Dean’s characters, and their relationship with the supernatural up to season 4 really highlights how fucking wild the introduction of angels is in the show. it’s basically a complete paradigm shift.
I would recommend you watch seasons 1-5 basically as is, though if you’re in a rush, season three is kinda skippable as long as you read a general synopsis. This is the original arc of the show and it shows. A friend of mine, @sammwinchestersdimples has said she’d have been fine if the show had ended there, and I can totally see her point. After season five things start to get... uhhhhh... not as good. THAT BEING SAID some really amazing seasons come later, and you’d get nowhere NEAR the Full Destiel Experience without them. What REALLY sucks is that all the seasons have good moments in them, so even if the seasons are generally bad, they’ll have episodes of GOLD. But fuck it, here’s a season-by-season breakdown.
Season 6 - This is the first... “eh” season. There’s a lot of character choices made in this one that I don’t like. The plot also doesn’t quite seem to know what to do with itself and it has no real main villain... or I guess it has a twist villain? This is also the season where they start chucking in the typical “no homos” you get when a show is queerbaiting, so they can point to the no homo bits and claim the queers are delusional.
Season 7 - The absolute WORST season, imo, is season 7, and it features Cas the least out of all the post season 4 seasons. You can tell the writers genuinely tried to write Cas off here. Not to mention the main plot is completely stupid. HOWEVER this is the season where we get golden things like Cas showing up to Dean’s prayer naked and covered in bees, and the episode where Charlie (best girl) is introduced and Dean subsequently has to flirt with a dude because she, a lesbian, cannot. (Wow so straight, Dean)
Episodes Not To Skip:
6x03 - A good Cas/plot episode (spot the famous destiel quote)
6x04 - A good all-round episode, also Jackles directed it so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
6x09 - This is one of the Batshit Episodes. Definitely watch.
6x10 - On the one hand, Cas episode. On the other, no homo, megstiel episode. Your choice.
6x11 - Good episode.
6x15 - THE ULTIMATE META EPISODE. Sam and Dean are teleported into Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles’ lives on the set of Supernatural and it is so batshit.
6x17 - Jolly good episode, and nice destiel content.
6x18 - Time travel episode, which is always fun.
6x19 - “Baby in a trenchcoat.” ‘Nough said.
6x20 - The Man Who Would Be King is the destiel episode. It is infamous in the fandom, and for good reason. It’s not just a good destiel episode, but one of the best episodes in the series. With banging lines like “Freedom is a length of rope. God wants you to hang yourself with it.” and “For a brief moment, I was me again.”
6x21 & 6x22 - The last two episodes are kind of must-watches after TMWWBK, trust me.
Episodes Not To Skip:
7x01 & 7x02 - follows on from s6 final. You don’t wanna skip.
7x05 - Good general episode
7x06 - Again, good general episode. Sets ups plot for the season.
7x08 - Ugh. So the A plot for this episodes invoves Becky, the insane, stalker, fandom-insert character, roofie Sam into marrying her (and it’s heavily implied they have sex - and it’s treated as a joke despite being LITERAL RAPE). BUT this is the episode where Garth is introduced and Garth is fucking amazing. So. IDEK.
7x10 & 7x11 - Plot important.
7x12 - Time travel episode! See if you can catch the bi!dean moment ;)
7x17 - Cas is back! Or is he???
7x18 - GARTH EPISODE
7x20 - CHARLIE!!!! WATCH THIS EPISODE!!!!
7x21 - Cas episode. It’s... interesting.
7x22 - The tagline for this episode is “Sam and Dean seek out an Alpha” 😭. It’s a Cas episode.
7x23 - If Cas weren’t in this episode I’d say skip it.
Season 8 - A fantastic season. If The Man Who Would Be King is the destiel episode, season 8 is the destiel season. When you watch this, DM me so I can RANT about all the amazing destiel this season. It’s also, again, a great season in general I remember watching it as it was airing it was soooo good. You have the arrival of the Bunker, you have Kevin and Charlie being awesome, some nice sprinkles of batshit episodes, BEST BOY BENNY rocks up in all his glory. Fucking epic season. Only downside it Sam’s character takes a bit of a dive. I’d recommend you watch through all of this season.
Episodes To AVOID:
7x13 - I literally pretend this stupid fucking episode doesn’t exist. Basically Dean impregnates a woman with Super Pregnancy and she has a daughter who becomes an adult within hours and then dies. The end. Everyone hated it. Man fuck this episode. Of course it was written by Buckleming.
Season 9 - Sadly, after how amazing season 8 was, and how spectactularly season 9 was set up, this season is a disappointment. It’s an ok season. It’s not bad, it’s not good, it’s just a bit all over the place.
I was going to give you the normal episode list to not skip, but looking through, most episodes this season should be watched for one reason or another. Either they’re Cas heavy, they do some interesting character building, or they feature one of the awesome side characters like Charlie or Jody.
This season is probably the height of the war in the writers’ room about destiel. Some writers want to no homo the whole thing and back way off, while other writers want to lean into it hard. So in the same season where SPOILER Cas loses his virginity to a random reaper woman and Dean kicks Cas out of the bunker to fend for himself, you also have Cas’ fatal flaw used as propaganda against him by Metatron being that he’s "in love” with humanity Dean. /SPOILER Whatever you do DON’T SKIP THE FINAL FEW EPISODES. TRUST ME.
Season 10 - Haha oh dear. This season is likely the biggest for wasted potential. You saw the end of season 9, right? You go “HOLY SHIT YES LET’S DO THIS” and then they do... season 10. They really became experts at setting up an awesome season only to fuck it up in delivery, right? Again, not a bad season, per se.
Episodes To AVOID:
9x05 - In which Dean wants to fuck a dog. I am not joking. I wish I were. Basically a spell-gone-wrong makes Dean doglike. it’s weird. it’s batshit. Not the good kind.
Season 11 - Season 11 is a pretty good season! They tried to give Dean a female love interest but Jackles said  ✨No✨ and played Dean as brainwashed and uncomfortable the whole time and I love him for it. Of special note this season is the episode Baby (11x04), which is my favourite episode in the series! It’s funny, it’s heartwarming, it’s weirdly shot. I love it! We also get casifer this season which is awesome! Some episodes are skippable, but they’re generally good episodes.
Episodes NOT to Skip (ignore the 10 year special):
10x01 & 10x02 - Great episodes, Dean in this is *chefs kiss*.
10x04 - *sighs* Fan Fiction. A 200th episode that is simultaneously a love letter to fans and laughing in fans’ faces. I’ve never liked this episode for the second-hand embarressment of it all, but you should watch it and see if you like it.
10x06 - Pretty good episode.
10x07 - Jody AND Donna! Fantastic episode!
10x08 - Dadstiel rears his ugly head. I fucking love how Cas adopts two (2) kids over the course of the series and in both cases Dean eventually goes “ah fuck, I guess I gotta co-parent this thing”. Also we get some KILLER destiel this episode. hey go on a DATE and Cas tells Dean he’s a good person ^_^
10x09 - Good episode. Much destiel.
10x10 - Charlie episode!
10x11 - Teen!Dean! Need I say more?
OK so I just had a look, and you really just need to watch every episode from this point in the season on. Enjoy!
Season 12 - Another example of a TERRRIBLE season, is season 12. Season 12 is also one of the most destiel-heavy seasons in the show. You see the issue? Like, it’s got a stupid plot that makes no sense and has no fucking cohesion, but you also FINALLY have the writers going “fuck it” and all in on the destiel. After this point Dean never has another non-Cas love interest and vice versa, they stop giving us whiplash from baiting and no-homoing. IF the conspiracy theory is true, and the end of the show is shit because of executive meddling, this season is the one where the writers decided they were gonna push for destiel endgame.
I gotta tell you the truth, I skipped this season in my rewatch, so all of my memories are from years ago when it first came out. This seson was the last that I watched live (for a reason). Should you skip it? No. But I’m not well informed enough about this season that I can point out what episodes you should or should not watch.
Season 13 - Congratulations! You’ve reached the point where the show’s gotten consistently good again! (just in time for most of the audience to have already left lol). We start off with SPOILERS Dean mourning Cas like he’s lost the will to fucking live. I’m talking complete despondence, praying for Cas to come back, lashing out in anger at everything, one of the darkest points we’ve ever seen him at on the show, then pulling a 180 and being super happy the second Cas comes back. /SPOILERS They also introduce Jack, who is the SECOND child Cas decides to adopt and Dean ends up co-parenting (Sam too). In fact, Jack is explicity Sam, Cas, and Dean’s kid.
Season 14 - Another good one. My only issue is where they decided to take the plot at the end of the season. I’d recommend watching it all, regardless.
Season 15 - And so we’ve come to the end of the line. This season was... well it was actually pretty good. It started off with what we hellers lovingly refer to as the “divorce arc” where Cas and Dean have a big blow up, and Cas leaves, but that ends with Dean praying on his knees for forgiveness and a nice hug. Honestly this season you can cut the tension between the two of them like a knife, and you can tell Misha and Jensen were doing it deliberately.
I’d say watch up until 15x18, then you decide what to do with the last two episodes. If you want you can watch them to understand just why people put their conspiracy theory hats on, or you can send me another ask and I’ll rec you some post 15x18 finale fics! There’s one fic that’s a replacement for 15x20 written in script format that is particularly good.
Anyway that’s it. It’s kind of left me a little sad, to break down the show in this way. Especially coming up to season 15 nd remembering all the wasted potential. Honestly if you do decide to watch the show, good luck. I hope you enjoy it. I’m also glad you never had to be put through the bullshit false hope that came about after 15x18.

what are your favorite episodes from each season? :)
I’m gonna answer this in terms of my favorite episode for Pacey/Joey from each season, just because of the nature of this blog, if that’s alright with you anon! (However, if you’re looking for my personal top 5, I did answer that over here on my personal!) But, here’s my top 2 favorite episodes from each season based on the Pacey and Joey content! :)
(Also below a cut, because it got kinda long, but read through it you wanna know my gushy thoughts)
season 1:  1. double date (1x10) - I feel like this is totally predicable but also, it’s predicable for a reason. This is the season 1 Pacey and Joey episode. We get to see them together for basically the entire episode in all their bickering “we’re not friends but we totally are but trust me I’d rather rip my own eyeballs out then admit I care about” glory that they mastered so well in season 1 and it’s just so good. I love this episode, and feel a bias towards it because it was the episode that personally turned me into a P/J shipper!  2. boyfriend (1x08) - It was between this episode and Decisions (the finale) but ultimately this episode wins for me just because I am a huge sucker for Pacey being worried about Joey when she’s drunk and this episode gives me just that. I also just think their friendship is so fun in this episode and I think this was one of the first times where we really got to see them shine in their dynamic outside of Dawson which was super, super fun and it’s just a great episode for them.
season 2: (lmao...)  1. parental discretion advised (2x22) - Again this episode feels kinda like a gimme considering how little content we got all season and this was one of the few episodes where they actually interacted, but I actually do genuinely love their dynamic in this episode, especially on Pacey’s end. We really get to see how much he cares about Joey even if they aren’t close yet, from him standing up for her family to his dad to saving her from the fire. I just think this episode really shows that hey these two characters do care about each other even if the show didn’t want to show us.  2. be careful what you wish for (2x16) - HEY look it’s the other episode in this season where we see these two interact. But honestly, I adore their little one on one scene in this episode so much. Seeing Pacey check in with Joey about how she’s feeling after everything with Jack and encouraging her that the party will be great. It’s just so great to see them in their lil friendship moment, I just love it.
season 3:  1. stolen kisses (3x19) - I mean...c’mon, how can it not be. This is in my top 5 overall episodes in general so of course it was gonna make this list and how can it not? This is such a top tier Pacey and Joey episode that it honestly still sometimes baffles me how good of an episode it is for them. Like from the bed sharing (UGH SO GOOD), to all the tension filled longing looks, to the kisses and the counting to ten and the you made me feel alive (!!!) and that ending with Daydream Believer playing in the background, this episode is just everything.  2. true love (3x23) - There are so so many to choose from for the second option (Four to Tango! The Anti Prom! The Longest Day! Home Movies!) but ultimately the finale wins for me. I just cant resist the happy ending! After everything the show put these two through in season 3, seeing them literally sail off into the sunset together was just so magical. Also not to mention that Joey’s love confession still makes me feel weak in the knees, it’s just all so good. And then of course there’s all the build up to that moment with Ask Me To Stay and the wedding tension it’s just all so good, I love it.
season 4:  1. future tense (4x04) - Okay, remember what I said earlier about being a sucker for Pacey taking care of drunk Joey? Well, that’s one of the main reasons this episode is my favorite season 4 episode for them. I truly do love most of season 4 for them, but this one just has a special place in my heart. I adore the scene at the end with Pacey carrying Joey into the house and her adorable confession about wanting to be with him. Not to mention they are just so affection and fun in this episode, I love it.  2. a winter’s tale (4x14) - This one feels kinda obvious, but when an episode has one of the most romantic scenes in tv history, it feels like it should at least be given a passing mention, right? Obviously there’s a lot of unnecessary angst and drama in this episode but the final scene just makes up for it in every single possible way. I could watch the “ten, my love” scene on loop for the rest of my life and never not love it.
season 5: (again...lmao) 1. appetite for destruction (5x10) - This one might feel like kind of a random choice (not there is much to choose from in this season), but I don’t know I just think the final scene of them in this episode when Pacey checking in with Joey about how to feels and them having a real genuine friendship moment just makes me love this episode for them. It’s such a sweet moment and their hug in this episode always gets me that it just makes me adore this episode for them.   2. something wilder (5x11) - In my opinion, this is the best Pacey and Joey friendship episode in season 5. From Pacey picking Joey up and driving her back to Boston, all while totally teasing her about her grades, to everything that happens between them at the club, it’s just such a fun episode for their friendship. I absolutely adore the lil moment where Pacey scares her at the club and they high five and Pacey cheering her on while she sings is so cute. This episode just has so many little moments that I think are just so adorable.
season 6:  1. castaways (6x15) - I mean... HELLO?! What else could be the number one episode of season 6 (and of all time) for them, if not their bottle episode. There really is absolutely nothing better than Pacey and Joey being trapped in the store and forced to talk about their feelings and work through unresolved tension they have. It just is like a fanfic come to life and I love it so so much. After the barren wasteland that was s5 and early s6, getting this episode is just a dream come true. This episode is just everything and it’s perfect and I love it so so so so much.  I can’t even pick a singular favorite moment (that’s a lie, yes I can, it’s the snuggling scene, but I digress), because it’s all just gold.  2. ...must come to an end (6x24) - Two beautiful love confessions/declarations and an endgame, I mean, who am I to complain and look this beautiful gift horse in the mouth. This episode for them is just so beautiful, with Pacey’s speeches and them finally getting the happy ending they deserve, it’s just so wonderful and I’m so happy Kevin Williamson realized that they were the better couple and gave them the endgame. But seriously, Pacey’s “simple act of being in love with you” speech is the greatest love declaration of all time, so this episode is just perfect because of that.
This got really long anon, but hopefully you liked reading my thoughts!! :) I really could go on for hours about these two haha.

Time for me to have another Upstead breakdown over the s6 finale since my friend has now FINALLY caught up on all of Chicago PD (she’s seen s7 too). Anyway, the scenes above are in order of 6x22 and are all too good not to post about again. Okay? Okay.
The car/tracker scene
This one was a little one, granted, but I still liked it a lot! First you had Hailey be all impressed by Jay picking the lock on the car door, and then you had her go provide a distraction (running the car into the trash cans) so he could get out unseen by Wilson Young (the gangbanger they were tracking). Side note: when Hailey said: “Jay, you close?” my mind went 😏 OKAY I’M DONE NOW BYE
The follow-up scene to “I’d Follow You”
The second scene that got me was that Jay finally (in his own way) sort of responded to what Hailey had told him in 6x15 (”If I was gonna follow someone blind, I’d follow you). Before we had 7x06 where he repeated that exact phrase, we had: “Besides, I’m going where you go.” aka: Jay would follow Hailey anywhere too. DO YOU HEAR ME SOBBING YET 😭😭 they’re so CUTE & the best partners ever when I was watching this when it aired I was like “damn Kelton don’t you split up Upstead” cause they just work, you know?! Also PLEASE their little laughs and smirks about the “500,000 rip” I DIE EVERY TIME. Cuties. PS: They looked so badass in all blackout gear to get said money that’s all.
The van scene
I fling flang flung myself watching this scene again. Even though I’ve seen it probably 15 times at least, seeing it within the context of the whole entire episode really made it stick again. Like Jay Halstead really said: “I’m gonna protect Hailey Upton with my life no matter what” AND PUT THE VEST ON HER TO SHIELD HER THEN PUT HIMSELF OVER HER TOO AS A HUMAN SHIELD gosh I love one man & he loves his partner !!!!!!!  He did not give two fucks as to what was happening to him, he just automatically said “get down, get down” and pulled her down with him UGH. They’re in love love, you know?! ❤️ Linstead could never. Yep, I said what I said.
The breakroom scene
Not only did Jay look so sad, when you heard him speak, he was at a total loss. I’m sure that’s just thanks to Jesse Lee Soffer’s terrific acting ability but DAMN did he hit it out of the park in that scene. The “we lost” and his little voice break – ugh. I can’t even. 🥺 Then you had Hailey who was just as concerned (for Jay), and she wanted to make sure he was okay. She immediately sided with him and tried to reassure him that things would work out (”[Kelton’s] time for a reckoning’s coming”). OH & don’t even get me started on her forlorn expression as Jay was talking about “not in time for this unit....for us.” 🥺 Like Jay we knew you meant it as a little bit moreso than that, and I bet Hailey did too. That’s why she kinda played it off with the “we’ve only been partners a couple years” thing because she knew how important their relationship has been, but she didn’t think it was the right time to say something with everything else falling apart (aka: when they thought the unit was going to be disbanded). When Jay tried to reassure her that he wouldn’t forget about her, and he opened his mouth again like GOD HE ALMOST SAID IT. He almost said more, and you saw that slight realization in her eyes when she recognized that. Bravo to Tracy Spiridakos for that. PS: Blue is their color like man oh man those outfits slayed.
