WASTED SUMMERS |Manjiro Sano x Reader Fanfic|
{Chapter two}
{Masterlist}
{WASTED SUMMERS Masterlist}
"Confess I loved you, just thinking of you... I know I've loved you from the start..."
—————————————————
You already regretted being acquainted with the gang member, who you'd just found was the leader of one of the most powerful gangs! How could you have guessed that the insufferable airhead was the gang leader for crying out loud?!
Your face heating up in embarrassment when someone had confronted you about your relationship with him. Of course, there was many things to take from this; the first one being that your classmates were nosy, and the second being that the short childish boy was the leader of one of the most feared gangs. You couldn't believe you let the delinquent walk you home, and even worse- you confided personal things to him!
Though you had to admit that it was the most fun and relaxing time you've had in a long time- you really needed other people to talk to if that's how you felt about him- or rather around him.
You shook away the thoughts as you walked towards one of the classrooms, sliding open the door and greeting some of your fellow peers. You would often stay after school to participate in the student council meetings, ever since you were voted as the student president and confirmed valedictorian, you had made it a responsibility to address some changes and revisions of rules.
You had been anticipating this thing since the summer before this year- so you had really been on top of everything. "(Y/N)! Thank you for stopping by, we already made a rough draft," the salutatorian bowed his head before handing you some papers.
You scanned the papers and nodded, "These are fine... I will review and edit them before officially publishing them with the news club," you sent a smile to the boy, who visibly blushed but went unnoticed by you. Thus it begun your stay there for an hour and a half, but there was something that you couldn't help but feel a familiar warm feeling blossom in you. You had to admit that being around others that were like you was comforting.
Your salutatorian, whom was named Riku, had always competed with you since you were children, so you had a fun time sending teasing jabs to him and getting to know any new people that were new this year. That was before the sliding door swung open to reveal the last person you wanted to see.
Mikey.
You ignored the boy who casually walked in with his friend behind him, everyone in the room went quiet and even tensed up, Riku even slightly scooted away from you.
Harsh.
"Mikey, this room is specifically for the student council," you spoke up just as Mikey was about to speak. Intense (E/c) eyes looking up with a stern glare, it wasn't really aggressive but it was definitely a warning that it wasn't a good time. Many watched as Mikey leaned in close to your face, he clearly didn't care and it seemed like what you said didn't make it to his brain. "No need to be rude to your best friend, (Y/N)-Chan," he grinned, making sure to loudly announce the nickname he had given you.
Most kid's tensed up, it was considered rude to call someone on the student council such nicknames, especially from someone that had a bad reputation like Mikey. They were expecting to see you yell or even back down, but you did neither.
You had rolled your eyes and stood up, bowing to your classmates as an apology. "I'm sorry for his rudeness, I'll be right back," a light hue of pink on your cheeks, you didn't like the glances the students gave each other after Mikey's nickname for you came out and you grabbed Mikey by the collar and dragged him out, "Draken, you too." You simply stated as the two walked out, at least they didn't really fight you on it.
You closed the door, "You guys can't come in here and do what you want! You're scaring my peers away and you're making me look bad!" You crossed your arms, eyes glaring up at the two boys. Draken shrugged, "Sorry," he didn't even sound sincere!
You sighed and while shaking your head you asked the question, "Whatever, what did you need anyways?" you were confused as to why they wanted to see you, Mikey was quiet as he stared at you. It didn't seem like they would go out of their way for someone like you. It had been a few days since you last saw them, and you weren't even friends with them.
At least- that's what you assumed.
The three of them stood there in silence, so you kept tapping your foot impatiently before Mikey said anything, it was strange... he was looking down with a weird expression... did he feel ill or something? You didn't like his piercing gaze on you and it began to make you squirm under his intense stare. This was the first time you felt kind of afraid of his gaze, he sure could stare anyone to death...
You supposed you could see why people were afraid of him...
"Mikey... are you alright?" You were obviously concerned until Draken eventually shoved him aside, "Mikey wanted to invite you out with us, Takemichi and his girl were going to come with us and some other friends..." Draken revealed and that made you silent.
Suddenly you threw your head back a little bit and let out a quiet laugh, your lips curved into a smile as you shook your head. "That's thoughtful of you guys... I didn't think I was scary to approach," you had now understood- well to Mikey it was misunderstood but it didn't matter. "I appreciate the offer, but I have to stay, unfortunately," you bowed your head apologetically, it was kind of disappointing that you couldn't go but it was still your responsibility to take care of student problems and study. Plus- you weren't even sure if you were the right person to ask. You obviously weren't as laid back as Hina was and you didn't think you would be looked at as a fun person- but the gesture was enough of make your heart flutter.
"(Y/N)-Chan... you're so boring," of course that came from Mikey...
"Okay... thanks, Sano," a sigh escaped your lips, (e/c) eyes slowly traveling down so you wouldn't have to see his smug smile. Your fingers were messing with the hem of your uniform's sleeve. "I just have a lot of things to do... but maybe next time," you sent them a half smile, but then Riku peeked his head out of the classroom.
He seemed to slightly glare at Mikey, before turning to you with a smile, "(Y/N)... we just finished since it's getting late, do you want to walk home together?" he had already grabbed your bag and you hummed in response and turned your back to Mikey, not seeing his smile drop. "Huh?... oh sure-" you outstretched your hand, fingers grazing the strap of your messenger bag until Mikey beat you to it and grabbed it for you.
"(Y/N)-Chan... let's go home!" Mikey declared as Draken stared down the salutatorian, he was also a scary starer..."Whatever Mikey says, goes," he was intimidating the poor boy! You were stunned as Mikey dragged you by the hand towards the exit from Draken and the boy.
You wrinkled your face in annoyance which stopped you from walking causing the blonde to glance back, "Hm? Did you forget something?" he asked, clearly oblivious to what you were feeling. You pointed to the end of the hall where they just came from, "Mikey! You can't just scare someone like that... plus, I thought you were going out!" The words sputtered out of your mouth, cheeks heating up in embarrassment. You did make sure to note that you owed your classmate an apology... and maybe more to make up for the intrusion.
"(Y/N)-Chan... that boy is no good!" Mikey huffed out, continuing to pull you forward. "Plus... I wanna walk you home!" he childishly retorted, causing you to shake your head in annoyance again. "Sano... you just have to ask," you mumbled, already to exhausted to argue, not even sure why Mikey wanted to be around you so much. It's not like he had a life-changing conversation with you anyway... but a thought then popped into your head.
...He's going to be a pest to you for sure, he could always be following you around or always barging in during your free time to sit and talk to you. You enjoyed his company for now but there was one thing that was stopping you-
His delinquent lifestyle.
The walk home was a bit different than the last one, the last one had a much more relaxed and peaceful vibe to it. This one felt more... vulnerable and somewhat personal, you saw that Mikey had some kind of expression on his face, and you subconsciously gripped the strap of your messenger back tightly before deciding to ask the looming question. "Mikey..." you hadn't realized how your voice came out soft- almost like a whisper and you were afraid that he didn't hear it. You were prepared to feel embarrassed until the blonde turned his head slightly in your direction. "Hm?" His hum made your stomach feel nervous, and you weren't sure what it was.
"What are you thinking about?" You watched his face for any change, it seemed that he was good at hiding his emotions because he kept the same neutral smile plastered on his face.
It was getting dark while you waited for his response, the sun was setting and it painted this light orange hue over his face. You thought that the light made him seem more vulnerable, he didn't have a scowl or a glare like most delinquents did- he had a more childlike and sweet aura that just drew you more into him.
"Heh, I didn't take you for the kind to be nosy," his response was teasing, and it made you just let out a small snort, you weren't acting out like you had done so earlier or many times before, you had even accepted the teasing response because you felt compelled to show that you were actually worried- or rather curious as to what the delinquent was thinking in.
"I was thinking about something coming up..." was all he ended up saying, and it prompted you to already start thinking of what the boy could mean. Was it a birthday? No- it had to be something that was clearly meaningful to him. The next thing that came to mind was the fact that he was the leader of a gang, could be something related to that?
"Are you going to fight someone?" The words slipped out, but you really couldn't help but ask, your face becoming slightly flushed at the personal question. You begun to panicking now as he stopped in the middle of the side walk which prompted you to stopped next ton him but you couldn't really read his expression. "Ah- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" you really were a stuttering mess, the confident aura slowly deteriorating as the tension became awkward, at least to you.
"(Y/n)-chan... you're so smart," he threw his head back in laughter, clearly enjoying seeing the uptight girl get flustered. "Glad that you came to that conclusion..." you muttered under your breath, not wanting to ruin the smile he had on his lips, it was a nice sight to see according to you- at least that's what you thought. You just ended up elbowing him gently, not wanting to push an answer out of him. "Just... be careful, it's my job as the top student of our class to look out for my peers," you grunted out, trying to find some reason to not worry over him or flatter him.
You both stood there for a few more minutes, the sounds of the cars driving by and the rustling of leaves was the only noise between the two. You hadn't realized you had been staring down at your shoes until Mikey flicked you on the forehead, causing your figure to flinch and cry out instinctively, "Hey!" Your hands flew up to rub the spot where he flicked you. Your eyes snapping up to meet his much darker ones. "You're too sweet, let's get you home nerd," his smile was pulled into his usual lazy one, causing a sigh from you and you continued the walk home.
"Thanks... for walking me home instead, Sano," you stood stopped in front of your house, now turning to face him. "It feels nicer to see you don't go around beating guys up, it feels safe," a snicker left you, enjoying the way his eyes lit up for a bit. "You just like having me around," he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his Toman jacket, his face turning to look at the details of your humble house. "Whatever, just get home safe you dork," you ended up gently shoving him. Now red face at how his childish response got you riled up. "Bye Mikey," you stepped back to signal him to leave with a wave.
Mikey had turned around to leave, his boots clicking against the concrete before he heard his name being shouted out. He had swung around thinking something had happened in the short amount of time. He couldn't imagine to his surprise that it was the (H/c) girl rushing at him, your phone in hand.

Anime Recommendations
Here is a list of ten anime (in no particular order) that are definitely worth watching, yet don’t seem to get nearly as much recognition as they deserve.
Terror in Resonance (2014)
This is my personal favorite anime and I push people to watch it whenever I can, which is exactly what I’m doing here.
This show is set-in present-day Tokyo, which has been decimated by a terrorist attack, and the only hint to the identities of the culprits is a bizarre video uploaded on the internet. For the majority of the show the plot follows two different narratives: those of the investigators tasked with bringing down the terrorists, and of the terrorists themselves.
My Rating: 10/10
Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun (2020)
This anime is probably one of my favorites, if not my number one, in terms of art style. I love everything about the character designs and the colors used. It is just so soothing to look at.
The famous "Seven Wonders" that every school seems to have are a staple of Japanese urban legends. One of the most well-known of these tales is that of Hanako-san: Rumors claim that if one successfully manages to summon Hanako-san, the ghost of a young girl who haunts the school's bathrooms, she will grant her summoner any wish. When Nene Yashiro, a girl hoping for romantic fortune, dares to summon Hanako-san, she discovers that the rumored "girl" is actually a boy! After a series of unfortunate events involving Nene's romantic desires, she is unwillingly entangled in the world of the supernatural, becoming Hanako-kun's assistant. Soon, she finds out about Hanako-kun's lesser-known duty: maintaining the fragile balance between mortals and apparitions.
My Rating: 8/10
Kids on the Slope (2012)
If you love jazz, or history, or even heartwarming tales of friendship then this is the show for you. I will admit that is has a bit of a slow start, but by the time you get to the end you’ll be wishing for more.
In 1966, introverted classical pianist and top student Kaoru Nishimi has just arrived in Kyushu for his first year of high school. Having constantly moved from place to place since his childhood, he abandons all hope of fitting in, preparing himself for another lonely, meaningless year. That is, until he encounters the notorious delinquent Sentarou Kawabuchi.
Sentarou's immeasurable love for jazz music inspires Kaoru to learn more about the genre, and as a result, he slowly starts to break out of his shell, making his very first friend. Kaoru begins playing the piano at after-school jazz sessions, located in the basement of fellow student Ritsuko Mukae's family-owned record shop. As he discovers the immense joy of using his musical talents to bring enjoyment to himself and others, Kaoru's summer might just crescendo into one that he will remember forever.
My Rating: 6/10
Hyouka (2012)
Energy-conservative high school student Houtarou Oreki ends up with more than he bargained for when he signs up for the Classics Club at his sister's behest—especially when he realizes how deep-rooted the club's history really is. Begrudgingly, Oreki is dragged into an investigation concerning the 45-year-old mystery that surrounds the club room.
Accompanied by his fellow club members, the knowledgeable Satoshi Fukube, the stern but benign Mayaka Ibara, and the ever-curious Eru Chitanda, Oreki must combat deadlines and lack of information with resourcefulness and hidden talent, in order to not only find the truth buried beneath the dust of works created years before them, but of other small side cases as well.
My Rating: 6/10
Tonari no Seki-Kun: The Master of Killing Time (2014)
I absolutely adore this show. The episodes are only about 8 minutes long, and there is very little talking, yet the story still comes through perfectly. It never fails to brighten my day when I’m feeling down.
All Rumi Yokoi wants to do is focus during school, but she is constantly distracted by Toshinari Seki, her neighboring classmate. Paying attention during class is the least of Seki's worries, as he obsesses over intricate setups created using an assortment of items, from an elaborate domino course on his desk to a treacherous war played out with shogi pieces. Yokoi desperately attempts to focus in class, only to be repeatedly sucked into his intriguing eccentricities; however, they always seem to end up with her getting in trouble with their teacher. Fortunately, lessons will never be dull with Seki's antics around!
My Rating: 9/10
Classroom of the Elite (2017)
On the surface, Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is a utopia. The students enjoy an unparalleled amount of freedom, and it is ranked highly in Japan. However, the reality is less than ideal. Four classes, A through D, are ranked in order of merit, and only the top classes receive favorable treatment.
Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is a student of Class D, where the school dumps its worst. There he meets the unsociable Suzune Horikita, who believes she was placed in Class D by mistake and desires to climb all the way to Class A, and the seemingly amicable class idol Kikyou Kushida, whose aim is to make as many friends as possible.
While class membership is permanent, class rankings are not; students in lower ranked classes can rise in rankings if they score better than those in the top ones. Additionally, in Class D, there are no bars on what methods can be used to get ahead. In this cutthroat school, can they prevail against the odds and reach the top?
My Rating: 7/10
The Morose Mononokean (2016)
The start of Hanae Ashiya's high school career has not been easy—he has spent all of the first week in the infirmary, and his inexplicable condition is only getting worse. The cause of his torment is the mysterious fuzzy creature that has attached itself to him ever since he stumbled upon it the day before school began.
As his health continues to decline and the creature grows in size, Hanae comes across a flyer advertising an exorcist who expels youkai. Desperate and with nothing left to lose, he calls the number and is led to the Mononokean, a tea room which suddenly appears next to the infirmary. A morose-sounding man, Haruitsuki Abeno, reluctantly helps Hanae but demands payment afterward. Much to Hanae's dismay, he cannot afford the fee and must become an employee at the Mononokean to work off his debt. And to make things worse, his new boss is actually one of his classmates. If Hanae ever hopes to settle his debt, he must work together with Abeno to guide a variety of dangerous, strange, and interesting youkai back to the Underworld.
My Rating: 6/10
Beyond the Boundary (2013)
Another of my favorite aesthetically pleasing anime, this show has been the one that I show to friends who claim that anime cannot be beautiful (yes, several of my friends have actually said things along that line).
Mirai Kuriyama is the sole survivor of a clan of Spirit World warriors with the power to employ their blood as weapons. As such, Mirai is tasked with hunting down and killing "youmu"—creatures said to be the manifestation of negative human emotions. One day, while deep in thought on the school roof, Mirai comes across Akihito Kanbara, a rare half-breed of youmu in human form. In a panicked state, she plunges her blood saber into him only to realize that he's an immortal being. From then on, the two form an impromptu friendship that revolves around Mirai constantly trying to kill Akihito, in an effort to boost her own wavering confidence as a Spirit World warrior. Eventually, Akihito also manages to convince her to join the Literary Club, which houses two other powerful Spirit World warriors, Hiroomi and Mitsuki Nase.
As the group's bond strengthens, however, so does the tenacity of the youmu around them. Their misadventures will soon turn into a fight for survival as the inevitable release of the most powerful youmu, Beyond the Boundary, approaches.
My Rating: 7/10
Mekakucity Actors (2014)
I think about this show far more than I’d like to admit. The way they bring different plot lines together continues to amaze me 6 years after watching it for the first time.
On the hot summer day of August 14, Shintarou Kisaragi is forced to leave his room for the first time in two years. While arguing with the cyber girl Ene who lives in his computer, Shintarou Kisaragi accidentally spills soda all over his keyboard. Though they try to find a replacement online, most stores are closed due to the Obon festival, leaving them with no other choice but to visit the local department store. Venturing outside makes Shintarou extremely anxious, but the thought of living without his computer is even worse. It's just his luck that on the day he finally goes out, he's caught in a terrifying hostage situation.
Luckily, a group of teenagers with mysterious eye powers, who call themselves the "Mekakushi Dan," assist Shintarou in resolving the situation. As a result, he is forced to join their group, along with Ene. Their abilities seem to be like pieces of a puzzle, connecting one another, and as each member's past is unveiled, the secret that ties them together is slowly brought to light.
My Rating: 8/10
Angels of Death (2018)
You totally want to get emotionally attached to cereal killers, right? Of course you do, that’s why you should totally watch this anime.
With dead and lifeless eyes, Rachel Gardner wishes only to die. Waking up in the basement of a building, she has no idea how or why she's there. She stumbles across a bandaged murderer named Zack, who is trying to escape. After promising to kill her as soon as he is free, Rachel and Zack set out to ascend through the building floor by floor until they escape.
However, as they progress upward, they meet more twisted people, and all of them seem familiar with Rachel. What is her connection to the building, and why was she placed in it? Facing a new boss on each floor, can Rachel and Zack both achieve their wishes?
My Rating: 7/10
Bonus: Stars Align (2019)
I am adding one extra because this anime deserves so much more than it got. I adore every single character in this show and want nothing but to see them be happy. There is so much I adore about this show that I can’t put it all into words. I would recommend you watch this so you can share in my rage that the story was cut off halfway through with no current plans of completing it. There is no manga. There is no way of knowing what happens next. This recommendation is entirely for the purpose of generating more public outcry in the hopes that that causes them to finish the show. Please anime gods, if you are reading this I need to know what happens to my smol tennis boys. Are they safe? Are they alright?
Constantly outperformed by the girls' club, the boys' soft tennis club faces disbandment due to their poor skills and lack of positive results in matches. In desperate need of members,
Toma Shinjou is looking to recruit capable players, but he fails to scout anyone. Enter Maki Katsuragi, a new transfer student who demonstrates great reflexes when he catches a stray cat in his classroom, instantly capturing Toma's attention. With his interest piqued, Toma ambitiously asks Maki to join the boys' team but is quickly rejected, as Maki doesn't wish to join any clubs. Toma refuses to back down and ends up persuading Maki—only under the condition that Toma will pay him for his participation and cover other club expenses.
As Maki joins the team, his incredible form and quick learning allow him to immediately outshine the rest of the team. Although this gives rise to conflict among the boys, Maki challenges and pushes his fellow team members to not only keep up with his seemingly natural talent, but also drive them to devote themselves to the game they once neglected.
This story focuses on the potential of the boys' soft tennis club and their discovery of their own capability, while also enduring personal hardships and dealing with the darker side of growing up in middle school.

Blue Period Volume 1 (review)
Blue Period is a manga by Tsubasa Yamaguchi, known for creating the manga adaptation of Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko. The series follows second-year high school student Yataro Yaguchi, who looks like a delinquent but is actually a smart student with excellent grades. He hangs out with his friends occasionally and leads an ordinary life. That is, until he finds a painting in the highschool’s art club.
In the beginning, Yatora doesn’t appreciate art all that much though. He states clearly that he doesn’t ‘get’ art or why Picasso’s paintings are world-famous. The story starts with him hanging out with his friends until the early morning before he leaves for school. Despite his routine and choice of friends, Yatora is actually one of the top-ranking students in his school.
In art class, however, Yatora seems to be content with making the least effort needed to get a decent grade. That same day he happens to find a mesmerizing painting, which ends up changing his view on art forever.
The next day he is inspired by early morning Shibuya and decides to draw it during his art class, but because of the time limit he isn’t able to finish it. However, his work catches the eye of fellow classmate Ryuji Ayukawa, who lets him join the art club as a ‘helper’, getting to know the other members of the club and learn more about painting techniques such as the color theory.
He soon realizes that admissions for art universities are very competitive and take much effort and preparation. Simply put, only the best are accepted for the limited seats. Yatora then begins to question whether he should go to an art school or simply do it as a hobby. His mother wants him to get into a prestigious university, while his father doesn't really care. But in the end, he makes it his goal to get admitted into Tokyo University of the Arts (the most popular public art university in Tokyo) so he can support his parents.
The rest of the volume has him train vigorously over summer vacation to finish his art homework and facing a challenge of standing out among the upon-and-coming artists in an art institute.
I really like Yatora’s character, particularly the uncommon duality between being a serious, hardworking student and a carefree ‘delinquent’ who regularly pulls all-nighters. His initial disinterest in art and later struggles to convince his family of his decision is quite realistic and reflects the stigma around art majors. Yet when his mother enters his room to find tens of his paintings lying about his room, she realizes that this is his passion and supports him fully.
The manga doesn’t show us how he and Ryuji came to know each other, but it’s clear that the latter is going to be a rival/friend character. Another potential character is introduced towards the end of the volume, and without spoiling anything I will say that his character is very interesting.
The pacing is a bit on the slow side in my opinion, although that is to be expected. There’s a small time skip to show us how much Yatora’s art has improved. I found it a bit strange at first, but I suppose with a subject like painting the story has to skip a few months to keep things going.
This is a manga about art, so it makes sense for the art to be at least good. But the manga goes beyond that, incorporating a beautiful ‘painterly style’ to it that makes it stand out. Not to mention the brilliant art pieces (and even the amateur ones) were created by real artists who are credited at the end of the volume! There were some art tips scattered here and there (as a self-taught artist, I wasn’t particularly aware of the different types of perspective, so it was kind of educational for me as well), but fortunately these are explained simply for the average reader.
Overall, this is a series I recommend for anyone looking for an art-themed manga! The first volume is already out and the second one’s coming January 5! It’s still not clear whether the series will continue after he gets admitted (hopefully!) or end right there, but I’m looking forward to this exciting art journey!

Detention: One-Shot
In which Class A gets detention, and the only priority is to find out who got caught making out in the boys’ locker room (Crackfic, slight Todomomo, warning for lots of cursing).
---------------------
They had only wanted to escape the gruesome, summer heat. An innocent group text inviting everybody to sneak into U.A.’s swimming pool. It was supposed to be a chill kickback, just to lounge in the cooling sensation of the waters.
But here they were on Sunday afternoon, stuck in their homeroom to write a 5 paragraph apology essay after Aizawa and Midnight caught them. Nobody wanted to be here, already struggling to deal with one of the hottest days of July. Midoriya wondered how many would actually complete the assignment. Half of them were already dozing off, defeated from the cruel heat waves seeping through the window.
Aizawa-sensei - already annoyed from the normal school week - entrusted supervision duties to the only other student worthy of disciplining his troublesome classmates and not ignoring curfew.
"This is an embarrassment to our class!” Iida yelled, unraveling the list of strikes. “Underage drinking, unsupervised Quirk battles, inappriopriate ki-”
And suddenly, everybody’s energy zapped right back at Iida’s loud gasp. It wasn’t like their Class President to halt in the middle of a lecture, clenching the paper.
Iida took a big gulp, lowering his head as his hands shivered. “’I-I-Inappropriate kissing in the boys’ locker room.”
Across all desks, Class A shared the same expression: wide eyes, jaws dropping, blood-curling screams blasting from their mouths.
“KISSING??!!!”
“Are you shitting us?!” Ashido gasped.
“Wait, everybody at the pool party is in detention right now,” Tsu pondered. “Which means...”
"WHICH FUCKER HERE GOT A HICKEY?!!” Kirishima screamed.
“H-Hickey?” Yaoyorozu gasped, covering her mouth. “W-W-Why-”
“So innocent, Yaoyorozu!” Sero teased her. “No guy takes you to the locker room without gunning for second base.”
"W-Wait! We should be more respectful of the person. What if they’re not ready to talk about this?” Midoriya said. Whoever it was here, he couldn’t imagine the embarrassment they were feeling right now.
“We’re Class A! We’re family, and family tell each other everything!” Ochaco declared. “We need to know!”
“URARAKA HOW COULD YOU??!!” Midoriya wailed. He thought she would at least be on his side.
“We’re not that close,” Ojiro muttered. Except no one cared to admit that.
“Mou, which two lovebirds here got some good action?” Hagakure giggled.
“Everybody needs to calm down and resume the essay!”
“Come on, Iida, I bet you wanna know too.”
“This shit is fuckin’ stupid,” Bakugo groaned, head falling onto his desk.
“Let’s go to the boys’ locker, find a bra, and match it to the girls here!”
“Mineta, don’t be disrespectful! It’s rude to target only the girls!”
“Iida is right. And who’s to say it’s a hetero boy-girl relationship? We should be considerate of those feelings when we talk about this,” Yayaorozu trailed off, twiddling with her jacket sleeves.
“Yaomomo has a point,” Jiro replied. “Still...”
“It’s definitely a guy and girl in this room, mark my words!” Kamimari declared.
“So that rules out Bakugo.”
“WHAT’S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN, EAR FREAK?! NOT LIKE I WANNA KISS YOU BITCHES ANYWAY!”
“Language, Bakugo! Especially when it comes to our fellow sisters!” Iida lectured.
“That’s right, we must cherish our sisters!”
“They ain’t sisters if we’re shoving our tongue down their throats,” Bakugo scoffed. Iida and the rest of the class glared at him.
“Well, it ain’t Uraraka cause Midoriya would faint,” Kamimari laughed.
“W-W-W-WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING???!!!!”
“M-m-m-m-m-me k-k-k-kiss--” Midoriya stuttered under his breath, avoiding any eye contact with Uraraka.
“I have a theory-”
“We don’t care, Bakugo.”
“FINE! GO WASTE THE HOUR WITHOUT ME, WORTHLESS EXTRAS!”
“It ain’t Ashido; she would have told everybody.”
“Ne, why are we so focused on the girls when it was in the boys’ locker room?”
“Tsu’s right,” Yaoyorozu complained. “Why don’t we start with the guys first?”
“They make a valid point,” Shoji replied. “Since it was our locker room, we need to interrogate the guys first.”
“Let’s be real; which guy in this room actually has a chance to kiss, let alone makeout with a girl?” Tokoyami spoke for the first time.
The room fell into a swift depression, with Kirishima, Bakugo, and Kamimaro glaring at him.
“That’s so cruel...” Yayaorozu tried to hold back a snicker.
“Aren’t you speaking about yourself too?” Uraraka pointed out. Tokoyami shrugged.
“Recognizing one’s weakness is the key to greatness.”
“YOU’RE SAYING NO GUY IN CLASS A HAS GAME?!!!”
“HOW COULD YOU BETRAY US, TOKOYAMI?!”
“I’LL GET ALL THE GIRLS TO PROVE YOU WRONG, BIRD SHIT!”
“Regardless of who it was, this is a highly inappropriate discussion. We should respect our friend’s privacy and get back to your essays.”
“Iida, don’t be a buzzkill.”
“But seriously, which guy here did it?!”
“Not Aoyama; he only loves himself.”
“This is hard; Tokoyami is pretty right about the guys in our class,” Tsu sighed.
“Look, everybody,” Midoriya walked to the front of the class. “This is fun, but someone here may be dealing with feelings they’re not sure of. What if it’s a new relationship they don’t want to reveal yet? Plus, we’re now making fun of each other for being single.”
The shouting subsided, followed by slumber faces. Murmurs spread across the room, and Midoriya could hear their regretful tones among each other. Midoriya dared to glance over the Uraraka, who gave him an approving smile. He stood up straighter, spiked with a new confidence to face this ordeal.
Yes, it is always right to protect someone...
“If this class is family, the we have to act like one: Give them their space, and be there to support when they need us.”
“As expected from Midoriya...”
“Such a powerful speech!”
“It’s so much better than me, the person entrusted to lead Class A through good and bad! I have failed as your President!” Iida cried.
“So everybody’s given up, huh?”
Everybody turned back to Bakugo, sitting with his arms crossed and a grin that looked ready to unleash the next natural disaster.
“What do you gotta say, Bakugo?” Jiro snorted
“I dunno, will everybody finally trust my god-given talents?”
“Get on with it,” Shoji sighed.
Bakugo raised his hand to the ceiling, everybody rolling their eyes at his dramatics. Then, his pointer finger landed straight directly at...
“Yaoyorozu?!” Midoriya gasped.
“Our Class VP?”
Yaoyorozu, however, did not flinch, She shook her head, unfazed. “Now you’re just being ridiculous.”
“I can see through your shit, rich girl.”
“It’s not funny, Bakugo! Yaoyorozu would never!” Uraraka defended her friend.
“Isn’t it obvious?! She’s been too diplomatic, playing peacekeeper but getting all riled up. Telling us to interrogate boys first so we wouldn’t suspect her. Also...” Bakugo grabbed his own shirt collar, lifting it slightly as he motioning towards Yaoyorozu. “Her jacket has been zipped up the whole time, and it’s a fuckin’ sauna in here. When does Ponytail ever cover up that much?”
Midoriya caught the first hint of red flush appearing across Yaoyorozu’s cheeks. Sweat beads begin to form on her forehead.
“W-W-Why does that m-matter?” Yaoyorozu scoffed, fiddling with her jacket collar. Strange how Midoriya didn’t notice that until now. As if she was hiding...
“Take off your jacket,” Bakugo demanded.
“THAT’S SO PERVY, BAKUGO!”
"YES BAKUGO, BREAK HER BOOBS FREE-”
“YOU’RE THE LOWEST OF THEM ALL, MINETA!”
“SHUT UP! I DON’T CARE WHO BOUGIE PRINCESS MAKES OUT WITH, WHAT MATTER IS THAT I AM RIGHT!”
“OH MY GOD, BAKUGO HAS TO BE THE CULPRIT!”
“ONLY YOU WOULD SINK SO LOW TO ACCUSE YAOYOROZU!’
“DID NOBODY HEAR ME?! I HAVE REAL EVIDENCE!”
“I bet he dragged Kirishima and Kamimari for a good three-”
“Stop!” Yaoyorozu cried. “it was me, OK?! Is everybody happy now? Can we not taunt Bakugo like that and just finish up detention in peace?”
Yaoyorozu unziped her jacket and lo and behold, the evidence was there. A small, purple bruise...right on her neck. Midoriya couldn’t believe it; Yaoyorozu Momo had lured herself. Not only as a rule breaker, but something even more critical to this situation. If not, worsen the mood.
“WHO GAVE YOU THAT HICKY??!!!”
“WHICH FUCKER HERE GOT YAOYOROZU??!!”
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL THE GIRLS FIRST?”
“THIS JUST GOT WORSE!”
“I WAS RIIIGGGGHHHHHTTTTT!!”
“AHHHH YAOMOMO HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!”
“YOU NEVER HAD A CHANCE, MINETA!”
“DON’T EVER UNDERESTIMATE ME AGAIN!”
“It wasn’t anybody here,” Yaoyorozu grumbled, avoiding everybody’s death glares. However, Midoriya could still see her face reddening with each second passing.
“THEN WHO??!! CLASS B DOUCHES?!”
“PLEASE, YAOYOROZU, ANYBODY BUT CLASS B!”
Midoriya got startled when Tokoyami tapped his shoulder. He nudged at Midoriya to speak privately, away from the chaos of their classmates and the unfortunate victim that was Yaoyorozu.
“I don’t want to make this a big deal with them but...” he whispered under his breath. “...The only students who knew about the pool party was our class, but someone’s missing.”
“Ah, you’re right! But why does that...” Midoriya drifted off, coming to a silent conclusion alongside Tokoyami. “Wait, you don’t think it could be...”
------
“Normally, I throw everybody in the same room, but given the circumstances of your delinquency...” Midnight began, lips gradually transforming into a mischievous grin. “...It made sense to keep you two separate.”
“Works for me,” muttered the young sixteen year old, as he mopped the teachers’ lounge.
“Think of this as a generous favor, Todoroki-kun. No one will know about you and Yaoyorozu yet.”
The emphasis on “yet,” which Todoroki tried hard not to cling to. Unfortunately, it backfired in mere seconds when he heard the voice of his explosive classmate hollering throughout the entire building.
"IT’S HALF-N-HALF BASTARD!!!! I KNEEEEWWWWW ITTTTT!!!!”

The happiest day of my life was when I discovered my wings. But you should know upfront that's such a low bar limbo players use it as a standard. Most children dream of flying over the trees and touching the soft clouds. I never did… No, I've always been scared of heights. My name is Sam Farsight, and I need your help. Normally, if I need something done I'd just do it myself. That's the kind of man I am. It burns my gut to ask anyone for anything, but… well, I've got other things burning me at the moment--bigger things. You see, today is the day I'm going to die. Strangely enough, this isn't the first time I thought I was going to die. This time, I think it's gonna stick… You'll see what I mean. You don't know me from Adam, but if you'll hear me out I'll explain everything in its place. I can't promise you anything as compensation--I don't have anything of value to bequeath to anyone. All I have left is my story. My legacy. It'll have to be enough. You're my only hope of getting the truth to the world. You see, I have a confession. And a promise…. I won't say whose, but there are hundreds of thousands of lives that depend on the truth getting out. Maybe even yours. Because my life as Sam Farsight means nothing to nobody. I died at twenty-one, and there's nothing more to say. But I have a secret. A secret I'm leaving to you, whoever you are. And the soul of a massive megalopolis hangs in the balance. My name is Sam Farsight. And for the last twenty-three years, I have been living as the vigilante superhero known as the Wingman. ### You've probably heard of him. I have a… reputation in these parts. But you can't believe everything the papers have said about me! Not all of it was my fault. I didn't mean for those people to die--and I certainly wasn't involved with the Nuclear swap! No sir! I stayed the hell away from that fiasco. I've done a lot of things--some of them I'm more proud of than others. But I've always tried to save lives. I've always tried to be better than the villains I put away… It's just… sometimes things don't always work out. I've made terrible mistakes. But what I have to tell you today should make up for all of them! No doubt, by the time you read this, the rumors of my death will have spread like wildfire... They're probably true. But there's something else you should know. I've saved the city. And this time, it's saved for good. What I'm about to tell you is the truth of my time as the city's savior. Please--Please! My final request is that you help me set the record straight. Things cannot ever be allowed to get as bad as they did. It took me dying to fix them. You'll have to finish plugging the holes yourself. I just hope… but that's getting ahead of myself. As they say Everything in its place. It's better I start at the beginning. Before I got my wings… If I sound reluctant, it's because this wasn't one of my proudest moments. ### The year was 2114. Old America. Jakob McCorbin was just elected President. Spring had only just faded and Summer was at our doorstep. The cars were still powered by the old steam & solar hybrid tec. Eternal Plasma Drives hadn't been invented yet. Railways had just made a big comeback for cross-country travel. I remember sitting under an advertisement for the Atlas Air&Ground commercial cross-country liner. Jerry and I would look up at that billboard and promise each other that when we got rich with our law firm, we'd book a car all the way out of Briar City, past HollyTown, past DoggWood, and all the way out of this continent! Those were the days… Let's see… 2114… International crime was dropping all across the globe. We'd just come out of a big war against Grephsnia. Jobs were at an all-time high. The politicians called it a utopia. But those of us who lived in the ghetto just thought it was another day in the history books. From our perspective, things didn't look so cheery. Jobs down there were still hard when you had them, and impossible to find when you didn't. Drug dealers still sold their product to school children. Gangs still put kids in caskets… They put a lot of kids in caskets. That's why I, Sam Farsight, thought it would be a good idea to start a gang war. The plan was simple. Goad the two gangs in Briar city, the SmashStones and the BloodBlades, into attacking each other and force the cops to actually do something to end them both once and for all. Nothing is ever simple. I was about to find that out the hard way. To find the SmashStone gang and learn their plans, I had to join them. A tricky feat since I live in BloodBlade territory. If the BloodBlades ever found out I was with SmashStone, they'd kill me. Of course, if either of them found out what my real plan was, they'd both kill me anyway. I thought I was so damn smart back then. That was the year I turned twenty-one. It was the year I got a casket for a birthday present. Jerry, my best friend since grade school, found himself on the wrong end of a shooting. That's where the Wingman found his start. Newly adulted. Chip on my shoulder. And the weight of the world in my back pocket. I wanted to do something with my life. But I decided then and there being a lawyer wasn't good enough for me. I wanted to do something "important." God, I was so stupid. I even thought the city would erect a statue in my honor. I can't believe I was ever that dumb. The only thought on my mind was no more kids in caskets. I was going to end the gang wars forever. That's why I was sitting on a brick wall in the rain just outside the 14th precinct. That's why when the cold wind blew across my face, I didn't back down. I was shivering and hungry and… and… … Lonely…. Yeah. That's the truth of it. I was so very lonely. I had a hole in my heart that was colder than the rain, and more painful than my stomach. That emptiness kept me moving. If I stopped… It would consume me. I wasn't ever going to back down. Not until I did what I came here to do. I checked my watch. 7:48 pm. He wasn't going to show tonight. I had to be back home before 9 O'clock or somebody would get suspicious. If not my family, then the gang. At the same time, sitting around in the rain waiting for a cop who might not even show wasn't the brightest idea I'd ever had. But the SmashStone goon I'd met with needed me to steal a cop car. And I had the perfect cop for the job. Officer Filbert Warren. A cop so dirty garbage washes him off. The man's a walking personification of the seven deadly sins. But… If you looked past all that. If you ignored the stink, the stains, the empty burger wrappers he leaves instead of footprints. If you looked into his soul. You'd find a second, even meaner cop living in his gullet that just wants the world to burn. Seriously! None of the other cops trusted him either. He earned himself the nickname "the Rat" back when he first joined the force, and he's done nothing but live up to his nickname since then. Rumor has it he's on both gang's payrolls. Witnesses against the gangs have a bad habit of going missing after this guy gets a look at their file. Nothing's ever proven, of course. Rumors go on to say that IA has a file on him the size of Texas, but it's all full of dead ends, missing evidence, and hearsay. Which would be surprising because Officer Warren isn't smart enough to pull any of that off. For example. Just as I was giving up hope that the fat rat masquerading as a cop would show up, he did. The cop car slinked up to the front of the precinct like a pissed-off cat. The headlights glaring angrily ahead. "Alright Berny, take this one in," I heard him say from across the road as he rolled down his window to throw out a sandwich wrapper. Littering is against the law, but Officer Warren didn't seem to mind as he dug into his burger with gusto. Berny glared at his partner in disgust but said nothing. He went around and marched some kid into the building. The girl spat at him, but the weary patrolman didn’t so much as flinch as he did his job. Apparently, he’d faced worse today. Warren chuckled after they'd gone. He gulped down the rest of his burger in one bite and waddled out after them in leisure. I swear, the car rose two feet when he got out of it. The fat lard even left the engine running. It was like he was begging for someone to steal it, but I hesitated. Not because I was having second thoughts. No, I hesitated because I knew I'd have to take a bath in acid after I'd sat anywhere Officer Warren had been. I could only hope the rain would offer me some protection. I didn't waste time driving around once I was in the car. Sure, I stamped the pedal as far down as it would go, flashed the lights and turned on the siren. I may have held my middle finger out the window like a good little delinquent, but I had a plan. The initiation required me to make some noise so people would know what I'd done, but I had to get away without getting caught. I drove the car as fast as I could to the graveyard just past the hill on the edge of the city. I expected there to at least be some kind of chase, but apparently, Warren's fellow cops didn't put too much priority on his misfortunes. I parked the car with the headlights flooding a row of gravestones. People who'd been killed by the gangs. I hoped it might remind someone they had a duty to fulfill. I opened the door and took off, being careful not to go around the front or the back where the cameras were. Step one was completed. Easy. I should've known it was too easy.

Midnight Circus
☾pairing: Jungkook ♡→ reader ☾genre: Angst. Fluff. Mature content. badboy summer fling au ☾summary: "You're ten times hotter this summer, you know that?"
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | coming soon
There was always that rush of excitement when summer came—that feeling of freedom and the urge to run wild bursting at the seems. That's how it was for most people, not you. When the sun shines with no end was something entirely different for you. Summer meant no school, known of those fellow classmates or teachers on your back. Your lively classmates bubbled in anticipation of the bell, the one thing that would free them from this white tiled prison for months. Just one last ring and I'm outta here, you thought. When it finally came you giggled at the students who jumped out of their seats, mostly guys, they huddled together as if they'd just won the state championship. The teacher attempted to calm them but eventually gave up, who could blame them?
“Come on, Y/N!”
Your friends beckoned you to hurry up and follow them out the door, that was currently being bombarded with the whole class. There was no point in rushing, so you told them to go ahead with you. They only shook their heads. You were the resident ‘good girl’ of your group of friends—as good as a high school senior could get at least. As quickly as you could look up you were left in the empty classroom, you looked at the reminder the suddenly came up on your phone. You hadn't received your grade for a year yet so you waited around at the main office for them. Sitting on the bench outside, you waited patiently, looking through your phone until your teacher came out.
“Ms. Y/L/N, here you go.” You stood up and grabbed the thin folder from her, flipping through it really quick to make sure it was yours. “Enjoy your summer- Oh and congratulations on your graduation.”
“Thank you.” You two exchanged smiles before she scurried back to her office, anxious to leave this place. She was probably happier to be on summer break than the students in this school. If you had to deal with these terrors in a few months you would too, you had to sit in a classroom with them but she has to teach them.
Striding down the hall, you looked over the paper, looking over your grades for the past year. One C out of a list of A’s. You glared down at the letter, one project with that delinquent nearly depleted your grade point average—you never forgave him for that and you weren't planning on it. A few steps and you were at your car, fumbling with your keys to open the car door. You dropped them on the pavement. Just as quickly as they fell you bent down to get it but you were stopped as an all too familiar black boot kicked it away.
Jeon Jungkook. He quickly had your keys in his hands. You tried to snatch them back but he only gave you a smug grin as your cheeks were already reddening in frustration.
“What do you want.” You spat crossing your arms, eliciting a snort from him.
Jungkook was what some would call a fuck-boy, a bad boy, a heartthrob; just to name a few. But you had other names for him, a waste of a good looking human being; in short. He did what he wanted and could care less if his stupid decisions affected you or anyone else—he loves himself with no shame whatsoever. His charming glances and charismatic ways of talking may have had everyone at his mercy but he wasn't fooling you—not for a second.
“Chill, I just wanted to wish you a good summer, what's the harm in that?” He said
Oh please, you wanted to wipe that grin right off of his face.
“Anytime you try to talk to me, you mean harm. Jungkook, I don't have time for this.” You attempted to snatch the keys once again but he blocked your attempts by putting his hands far from your reach. “Give me my keys back!” You crossed your arms, waiting for him to stop being childish and hand them over.
“Come on, are you serious?” He laughed. “Your panties are still in a bunch about that-...what was it again?” He tilted his head in thought, “'Collaborative project.” He signed quotation marks with his fingers.
“Since you obviously don’t have the best of memory, I'll remind you of what you did to me. While we were supposed to be finishing the project the night before. I had to finish it by myself. While you decided you'd go roof topping with your friends, on the school, during an open house—which, by the way, has to be one of the stupidest ideas you've ever had. You could've been arrested, not that I would care.” You huffed, already feeling yourself getting heated by the combination of the pounding sun and your rising anger. He was sporadic and impulsive, he said what he was thinking and went with the moment—all the time, and it was annoying.
“But did I get caught? No, I didn't- And you were a doll for keeping your lips shut about it, babe.” He tapped the bottom of your chin and you jerked back, smacking his hand away. You hated when he'd call you that, it was a nickname he came to like because of one incident. There was a tornado warning in the area, when it touched down you sat in the corner of the room, you closed your ears he could've sworn he saw tears.
The day before the due date you got hit with a bad virus and couldn't take in the project so you gave the responsibility to him—bad idea, a horrifyingly bad idea. He never came to your house to pick it up—he didn't even go to school that day, your teacher was convinced that Jungkook got you to skip school until you explained to her that you were bedridden. To this day, you still don't know where he went, and you really don't care anymore.
“I kept my lips shut because I wasn't going through that for you. When I texted you to tell you I was sick, and politely asked you to pick up the project and turn it in you left me on read! And never freaking showed up. Honestly, how rude can someone be...”
“Ok, and? You stress over every fucking little thing, it was one project.” He retorted, those distinct eyebrows taunting you with every little facial quirk. You snatched the keys from his hand, getting into your car and slamming the door.
He knocked on the window—your stupid self actually lets it down.
“What.” Your hands firmly on the wheel as you were getting ready to pull out.
“You never gave me back my headphones, the ones I left at your place. I need them back.” You had to laugh, you know he doesn't think your just gonna hand over his stuff after all the things he's put you through. He's not entitled to anything that has to do with you.
You had something he wanted. You smirked, the tables have finally turned.
“Ah, you mean the black ones with the blue on the sides?” He nodded, “Yeah, no, I don't know what you're talking about, you must be thinking about another girls house, I know you probably lose count.” You cooed, close-lipped grinning like the petty person you were.
“I know you have them, quit being petty and hand them over.” His attempt to push you into a corner was working to him but in reality, it was failing miserably.
“Now I’m definitely not giving them to you, even if I did have them, which I don’t, you won’t be seeing them anytime soon.” You could tell by the way his tongue protruded against his cheek, he wasn’t happy with you. You assumed he would escalate the argument but he only laughed, you frowned. “Why are you laughing?”
“None of your damn business.” With that, he walked back to where he left from and you willed yourself not to pay him any mind. You get a whole three months free of him, annoying classmates and the school in general.
Life is looking pretty good right about now.
| 1 Month later |
You sat on the back porch, phone in your hand and a glass of flavored sparkling water at arms reach. So far you've proclaimed your own stay-cation, your parents are going on a cruise soon and you'll be joining them. Some of your friends went off on vacation to Fuji or some tropical paradises, you'd be out of this place in time. Your thumb moved up to read the long work of fiction—you were deep, feeling as if you were living everything described around the heroine. Screech.
The sound of the sliding glass door prompted you to change the tabs and look back at whoever interrupted your peace and quiet.
“Y/N, what are you doing?” Jennie strolled her way over to you and sat in the chair across from you.
“Enjoying my relaxation.” You sipped your drink slouching back with a heavy sigh of content.
“Well,” Her hands on her hips as she stood tall, “go pack your bags, you're going with me tomorrow.”
“What? Going with you where?”
“Do you remember me telling you my aunt and uncle own a huge campground?” You nodded with a suspicious eye.
“They're letting me bring a few friends to stay for a couple of weeks, you're parents said it was ok if you came.” The smile on her face was one you knew all too well—she really, really wanted you to go, no was the last thing she wanted to hear.
“Thank you for thinking of me but I really don't think-”
“Don't worry sweetheart,” Your mother stood at the door and at the sight of her you realized your chances of getting out of this were demolished, “she'll be there, I know you guys will have a great time.” You cut your gaze to her, glaring at her like she had the plague.
“Perfect! We'll come to pick you up tomorrow evening!” Jennie jumped in excitement, giving your mother a quick hug before skipping out the front door in a singsong hum. There was nothing she wanted more this summer but you in the other hand—have a few choice words for a certain someone for getting you into this.
“I don't want to go. I'll stay home if you guys don't want me to go on the cruise...” You brought your phone back up to your face. “I'm not going.”
“Don't give me that Y/N, you need to have fun with people your age. You're going and I don't wanna hear anything else about it.” She walked into the house, closing the sliding doors like she's won something.
You couldn't help be sulk—you packed while muttering to yourself. How could she do this? She knew you were excited to be going on a cruise and getting away for a while and now she's sending you off to some camp she doesn't even know anything about. There was nothing fun about being forced to have fun, going to some campground with a bunch of people doesn't sound that great to you. There was one bright side to going to this place, you'd be far away from Jeon Jungkook. You managed to avoid him this long and now you get to flee the city without him harassing you every chance he gets.
Searching through the towel closet you finally found your traveling toiletries bag at the very top with several over travel items. You ran to get your phone as it rang obnoxiously loud—you left the dang ringer on.
“Hello?”
“Hey! Are you packing?” It was Jennie.
“Uh, yeah what's up?” If you were honest, since it was so late you weren't really even that interested.
“You know Beah’s acting partner?”
You sat at your drawers, pulling out every swimsuit you own and shoving them in your bag. “Not personally...but yeah, I know of him.”
“Well I told him, him and some of the friends could come since there's so much room at our unit and do you know who he invited?” By the sound of her voice, this could be really good or really bad.
“Who?...” Don't let it be Jungkook, don't let it be Jungkook, don't let it be Jungkook...
“Jimin, Park Jimin, can you believe it? I don't know if I can do it, Y/N. He's just so perfect, you know?” Park Jimin, he was every girl’s crush at least once; you were a little excited to know Jimin was coming too—even though he was friends with Jungkook he was always so nice to you, he was nice to everyone actually. Come to think of it, all of his friends were nice to you—it was him that had issues.
“Wow, do you know who else?” You pressed, wondering if any other heartthrob would be surrounding you this summer.
“Yeah, I think-” You could hear her mothers muffled voice calling her from over the phone. “Sorry, I gotta go but I'll see you tomorrow, bye.” And she hung up. Way to leave you on a cliffhanger.
“This won't be all bad...” You thought aloud, zipping your suitcase case and setting near your room door. Jennie knew you weren't as easy to just get up and go, especially if you've never even been to this place so you knew she was happy you were coming and deep down inside you were kind of happy to go—deep down.
They decided to leave early, just to rub it in my face.
“Call us when Jennie comes to get you, we'll tell you when the boat leaves.” Your mother started up the car as your dad filled the trunk with luggage. You stood at the front door, waving goodbye as the car took them away.
You had nothing to do but wait, so you went back inside kicked up your feet and turned on the tv. A few minutes went by and you were out, you stayed up for a few hours to pack and the lack of sleep is getting to you. Your eyelids were heavy, your head rested on the head of the couch and just as you were about to sleep your phone buzzed.
Don't answer—I wonder who I gave that contact name.
You looked at it, when Jungkook tries to reach you it's either for one of your friend's numbers(which you never give him) or you never really know what he wants. But for some reason, you assumed out of boredom, you answered it.
“Hello?”
“Who is this?”
“What the heck? You called me-”
“Just kidding, are you home?”
You sneered, “Um, if I was I wouldn't tell you.”
“You're literally always home.” He snorted.
“I don't know why I even answered, bye.” You were about to hang up but he stopped you.
“No, wait, I wanted to tell you how much of a shitty person you are for stealing my personal property. My brother is pissed too, they're actually his.” He lied straight through his teeth, grinning on the other end of the phone. “I had to tell him they were being held hostage by you, so if the cops show up at your-”
“You're a terrible liar, goodbye Jungkook.” You hung up, he was unbelievable.
A sudden knock on your door signaled that it was time to leave the comfort of your home. You opened the door to be greeted by a smiling face. “Are you excited?” Jennie asked, helping you with your bags, tossing them in the trunk with her own luggage.
“Uh, sure.” That wasn't very convincing, but Jennie knew you didn't want to go originally so she only giggled at your response. You hopped in the passenger's seat, tossing your purse to the floor and automatically reclining. “How far away is this place?”
“About 2 hours.” Lifting a red bull to her lips she sipped momentarily before focusing on the road. Two hours was the perfect amount of time for a nap, she continued to talk about what activities were at the campground and you tried to listen but before you knew it you were knocked out.
“We're here.” She announced. You groggily rubbed your eyes sleepily, looking out your window to see a beautiful spring and little cabins along the side. Your hand went to your sore neck and you stretched, you could already tell you liked it here. It was 20 minutes until sunset—the sun sat just right atop the water.
“Ah, I use to come here every summer when I was a kid, the sleeping bags, the campfire, the hikes, the off campground field trips, I loved it.” She smiled at the thought, pulling into the parking space as you saw a car still unpacking. Beah, Naeun, and her sister Nayeon were arguing over which cabin was ours.
“It's cabin 127!” Nayeon persisted, pointing to the cabin.
“I don't think so.” Naeun sat on the curb eating from a bag of pretzels as Beah continued to drag the luggage out of the trunk.
“Can you guys get your stuff? I need to lock the car- Y/N! You came.” Beah ran over to you and gave you a big hug.
“Yep, I did.” You nodded as she finally let you go, going back to the car to grab her bags. “I see you guys packed light.” You sarcastically laughed, you saw at least 3 extra bags in the backseat and you could only assume they were Naeun’s.
“You have to be prepared.” Naeun adjusted her shorts as she stood up from the curve, going to grab her luggage. “Which cabin are we in Jen?”
“127, right next to 117 where the boys are staying.” At the remembrance of who else would be joining us all of them erupted in giddy laughter. “Oh my gosh I forgot about them, I think they're lost, they should've been here an hour ago they left before us. Here's the key, you guys can unpack while I wait for them.” She reached into her pocket to toss you the key and to get her phone out, she pressed a contact before placing it up to her ear.
“Where are you guys?”
“We had to make a rest stop but we just pulled in the campgrounds, where we supposed to go?”
“Tell the woman at the front desk you're here with Jennie at cabin 127 and 117, she's my aunt so she'll know who you're talking about.”
With your bags in hand, you unlocked the door to the spacious unit, there was one set of bunk beds, two single beds In the large space and the living room had a pullout sofa. You didn't want the sofa but you would consider it for the view of the water since the unit was a bit elevated you could see all the lights of the other cabins switch on.
“I call dibs on the couch,” Nayeon announced, tossing her sleeping bag towards the couch.
“Beah, we'll take the single beds. That leaves you and Jennie with the bunks unless you guys want it the other way around.” Naeun continued to make her way towards the room and you opted for the bottom bunk. You sat your luggage next near the nightstand and threw yourself back on the bed, immediately trying to find the wifi server—no bars.
You sighed, jumping out of bed so you could go ask Jennie how to get wifi out here but when you walked on the side she was at the other cabin giving Jin the keys. You timidly walked over past the fire pit to see Jin and Namjoon.
“Jin, Joonie!” Nayeon ran up to both of them giving them both a hug, they were like the big brothers of the group. Yoongi was on vacation with his family and so was Hoseok, so they couldn’t come.
“Y/N, I didn’t know you were coming.” Namjoon pulled out his and Jin's luggage, smiling at you showing those beautiful dimples.
You smiled, “Yeah, I decided last minute.”
“Decided? Your mom literally forced you.” Jennie giggled, pushing at your shoulder teasingly. You frowned, crossing your arms and muttering a whatever. The rest of them picked up a conversation as you saw another car in the distance.
“Y/N can you grab my purse from the nightstand then we can grab dinner at the burger place down the road, we'll have campfire dinner tomorrow.” You nodded, going back inside to grab both hers and yours.
When you walked back outside you were met with a car full of boys. 3 to be precise.
Time stopped, when you saw Jimin step out of the car and you could see he hasn't changed a bit. His angelic face, his breathtaking figure, it made your heart skip a beat, he was always so perfect to you.
“Hey everyone, sorry we're late we had to stop by the convenience store for snacks.” He laughed, pushing his hair from his face and closing his door.
“That's okay,” Naeun smiled, “We're about to grab dinner so you guys are just in time.” Naeun was an open book, you could tell she had some plans involving him already.
“Sweet,” Taehyung ran to the trunk to grab his suitcase, “we’ll put our stuff in the cabin really quick. Jungkook gets your stuff.”
Jungkook? He lazily slung those stupidly toned legs (that looked illegal in the jeans he was wearing) out of the back seat and you were the first person he made eye contact with—you mirrored each other with equally confused expression.
You walked closer, just to ensure that it was really him and you couldn't believe it—you're eyes weren't deceiving you.
“You?” He didn't know what else to say, stretching his arms to get the sleep off of them.
Happiness wasn't the first emotion thought of when you saw him either, “This is great.” There was sarcasm in your tone as the rest of the girls couldn't help but glancest the scene between you and Jungkook. “Here I thought I'd have a relaxing vacation.” I might as well forget any chances with Jimin if he was in the way.
“Trust me, you weren't the only one.” He easily lifted his luggage out of the trunk, him being the only one of the three still outside. “I thought you were on your way to the islands with your folks.” He chuckled, knowing your mother told him the other night and that's how he acquired the information.
“I had a change of plans- wait, how'd you know about the cruise?” You questioned. Before you could get a response he went inside with his bags, still rude as hell, you thought.
The night continued like that, you were trying to get over the fact that you'd be spending multiple days on the same land with him. Everybody else was having a good time though, Taehyung and Jimin were having a lively conversation about who has better ping pong skills with Naeun and Nayeon. They were really similar to each other. Namjoon, Jin, Beah, and Jennie were laughing over a hilarious story Jin was telling. But there were two people eating their burgers and fries like an angry couple.
“Ow!” You winced, someone kicked your ankle with enough force to make your leg jerk up. You glared at him—why'd you have to sit across from him...
“You're hogging the ketchup.” Your eyes went to the bottle of ketchup and you frowned—he was so childish.
“No, I'm not,” You tilted the bottle to get some on the side of your plate, “I just picked it up.” When you sat it down he took it. The red substance dripped onto his plate, clashing with a few his fries left on his plate. You watched as he piled the sauce onto his fries and a little bit of his burger, and shoved it into his mouth. You took your time finishing your food all while trying to join in the others conversation.
“Yeah, I had to stop for a few months because of my back injury but I'm better now.” Jimin gave an explanation for his absence at Naeun’s dance studio. You use to dance at the same studio when you were younger but when you moved you changed hobbies a little. Jungkook was observing the way you looked at Jimin, you'd blush and stammer when he'd talk to you and he grimaced at the sight. He scoffed to himself as the salt and pepper were right next to you, you were so stingy with condiments.
“Pass the pepper.” Another kick to your ankle and you had enough.
“What is your problem? Its right there just grabs it.” You hissed, kicking him back for once, causing Tae to look at you guys weird.
“Other than the fact that you’re being a bitch, nothing, I don’t have a problem.” He muttered, shaking the pepper onto his ketchup.
“Excuse me? You're the one kicking me like a 5-year-old and asking me for stuff that's right in front of you, you're doing this on purpose.” You groaned, sitting back with crossed arms.
“It's not right in front of me, and being the gentleman I am I wasn't gonna reach over your food.” By the way, he eyed you it was obvious he was asking for a fight but it was the first day, you weren't giving into to him.
“Oh please, you don't care about reaching over my food, you just want to annoy me.” This time I'm not gonna listen to anything he has to say, I'm the bigger person here. Ignore him.
“There were only two of the shirts but Naeun insisted we needed another one so she and Y/N-”
“Shut up Nayeon!” All Nayeon could do was laugh at her sister's immediate defensiveness, everyone at the table especially Jungkook was curious about how you were involved in getting this shirt.
“How'd you get the shirt?” Taehyung asked causing her to glare at him.
“Yeah, I'm a little curious myself,” Jimin added, and the rest of the boys looked at Naeun for her part on the story.
“Come on Naeun, It was months ago, I'll tell them.” Jennie cleared her throat, leaning in to tell the story, “So, our favorite band was in town and they had limited edition shirts it the concert. When we tried to order them they were all sold out, but my brother knew someone who sold the leftover shirts really cheap. So I asked Naeun and Y/N to ride out to get them, by the way, he lived in the straight up wilderness so it took forever to find him- but anyway, when we pulled up I told Naeun and Y/N to go get the shirt just in case we needed a quick getaway-”
“Let me tell the rest!” Naeun butted in, eager to continue the story from her perspective. “When the guy came out he told us to come in inside while he gets the ‘stuff’, so we're waiting inside right and Y/N was like, ‘it smells like weed in here’-” She started to laugh as she approached the height of the story and you saw Jungkook found this story rather amusing.
“That's when you grabbed the shirt, put the money on his coffee table and next thing I know you're dragging me out the door, he's running after us and you tell Jennie he's got a gun.”
“Which freaked the hell out of me so I broke the speed limit by at least 20 miles to get out of there!” Giggling like everyone else at the table. “Later we found out that he thought we were the middleman for one of his new ‘clients’. Basically, he thought we were there for weed.” You remember that like it was yesterday, the three of you had never feared for your lives more that day than ever. Everyone laughed gleefully, having a good time comparing similarly weird circumstances as you all walked out of the diner. Jungkook began to get in on the conversation, cracking jokes and fooling around with the guys so you were free from that.
As you all went back to the cabins, a certain someone came to walk beside you.
“It's a beautiful night, isn't it?” You had never seen anyone walk with such charisma, his hands rested comfortably in his pockets.
“Yeah, it's nice...” You nodded, enjoying every second of this short conversation.
“I'm gonna hit the sack, goodnight guys...” Taehyung sleepily went into the cabin and sadly Jimin followed behind him, wishing everyone else a goodnight. Soon everyone trickled into the cabins but how waited for Jennie to get the extra blankets from her aunt. The sky was full of stars tonight, it was something you don't see in the city every day, it was stunning. If you weren't so sleepy you'd stay out longer so you could stare up at the sky, that would be a perfect way to end an evening.
“Huh, a good girl like you knowing what weed smells like,” Jungkook walked over to you, his hands in his pockets, “you learn something new every day I guess.”
You shifted your weight on your feet, crossing your arms instinctively from that. “What do you want Jungkook.”
“It's not about what I want.” He quirked his brow, hinting at what he meant.
“What's that supposed to mean?”
Clearing his throat momentarily he couldn't resist the urge to tease you. “I saw the way you were looking at Jimin earlier, you can't hide it can you?”
Suddenly you stopped breathing, you glared at him hard, your cheeks flushed but luckily they were hidden by the darkness. “I don't know what you're talking about, Jimin is just a friend...”
“No? Well, you were practically fucking drooling over him.” He snickered.
“I was not...” He over exaggerates everything.“Shouldn't you be in your cabin?” You quipped.
“Oh Y/N,” He tried to pat your shoulder but you swatted his hand away, “you're secret is safe with me babe, I won't tell him, not now at least.” He bid you farewell with the wave of his hand and without a word you left him, deciding you didn't have to listen to his crap any further.
The girls were finishing up the shower process when you entered the cabin. How could someone be some bothersome, he literally couldn't stand seeing you mind your own business. He was like that since preschool, he ruined anything good for you. You slipped on your pajama shirt and pantsuit after your shower and threw yourself on the bed.
“Y/N? You left me outside.” Jennie walked in with an arm full of blankets, tossing it on the couch for Nayeon.
“Jungkook was out there...” You rolled your eyes and she got the message.
“Oh,” She drew out the oh, “I saw you guys had a little argument at the dinner, what was that about?”
“You know we don't get along.”
“Yeah, but you guys can set your differences aside for the sake of everyone else for once. I'll be honest, Jungkook is hot, you guys might find out you really don't hate each other that much and hook up or something-”
“Not in this lifetime.” You got into your covers and yawned. "Goodnight."
You and Jungkook were like fire and water, polar opposites. It would take a miracle to change that.

Please Don’t Fight With The Flower Boy
• who?: Yuehua's Justin Huang • genre: 🌸 • type: scenario • word count: 4560
the 'Our Two Lips' flower boys LDH | PJH | PWJ | KJH | IYM | LGL • unlike many other of his co-workers, Justin is forced to work as a flower boy for the Summer • is he going to maintain his 'bad boy' persona he holds in the circuit? I hope you guys think this plot is good because I really love it!! I love Justin, where tf are the three other boys, Yuehua explain yourself. Brb I'm going to raid Yuehua's dungeon. Thank you so much for requesting this anon! I hope you like it. 💖 - Admin L
The wait was killing him, the tense atmosphere was strangling him. Justin wanted nothing more than to get out of the principal's office. The cold leather of the sofa gnawed at his thighs, he could feel the ice slowly creeping up his spine. Justin's head was hung in shame, his face still burning hot. Click, clack. The telltale sound of his mother's high heeled shoes echoed through the corridor right outside the room he was sitting in. Her heels seemed to pierce the silence, breaking his peace and quiet. At least it's only ma..... Justin could not look up to meet the eyes of his mother even after she had entered the room. He winced when he spotted his father's business shoes enter a few seconds after. And now...for the grand entrance of Principal Dickhead, he groaned internally, rolling his eyes at his principal. "Ahh! Mr and Mrs Huang, thank you for taking the time to come down. There are some matters to discuss...regarding your son." The warm and soothing hand of his mother rubbed his back. "What happened?" she asked. "What did my son do?" Her kind eyes met her sons shaking ones. "What happened?"
Principal Asshole cleared his throat. "It appears that Justin took to violence to solve a small...dispute among his peers. The consequences he will face is a week's detention, counselling and...community service during the Summer break to reflect on his actions and how he could have better resolved the issue," he announced. "Justin!" His father growled out. "We sent you all the way to Korea to train in MMA, not to be a nuisance." "It wasn't my fault," Justin cried. "Matthew punched me first! I was defending myself!" His mother turned to the principal, fire in her eyes. "Did carry out a proper investigation? My son is not at fault!" She spat, taking an immediate dislike to the principal. "Yes, and I have already spoken to Matthew and his family. His consequences are more severe than yours." Principal Bitchass eyed Justin. "Justin sentence would be less if it wasn't for his...record." In the school's eyes, I'm a delinquent. They will never understand the struggle of a foreigner who transferred halfway into the year. Justin thought bitterly. Half of these people won't survive a day in China. Words of the principal passed in a hazy blur, a string of syllables Justin refused to comprehend. With much argumentation and persuasion, his parents and principal finally arrived at a settlement. A week of detention. He nodded in agreement as it sounded fair, even if he only fought Matthew out of defence. Counselling, but with a private counsellor unrelated to the school clinic. Fine, I'll just have my uncle write a false report about me. Not the worst, law-breaking act I've committed. He sighed in exasperation. This is ridiculous. Work at one of the following, The Sugar Shaker... Justin shook his head and shivered. No, I've stolen a pack of candy from there before. Doesn't Park Woojin work there? He's scary. The thought of breathing the same air as his grimacing Senior was enough to cross the candy store off the list altogether and send him running for the hills. There were a few other places listed that Justin did not bother to even scan over. He skipped all the way to the bottom of the list. His thick brows furrowed. Our Two Lips?
"Cheer up, Stin!" Choi Seunghyuk beamed, wrapping an arm around his best friend encouragingly. "All of us will be there every day to support you!" Five tall figures squeezed onto the slim strip of pavement, making their way towards Justin's place of work for the Summer. Lee Euiwoong clicked his tongue on the top of his mouth in annoyance. "The school did you dirty. You don't deserve to be serving a sentence while Matthew gets away scot-free," he grumbled. Justin shrugged in response. "It's whatever, really. Don't worry, hyung. I guess I shouldn't have been so much of a troublemaker." "Yah," Zhu Zheng Ting started. "It isn't your fault. You never intended to start any trouble." "Will you still be coming for training though?" Ahn Hyungseob asked worriedly, fearful of losing his training partner at their academy. Both of them trained to be Mixed Martial Arts fighters. Justin Huang and Ahn Hyungseob were popular names in the circuit. The blonde talented fighter from China and the two-faced Korean boy you should be deceived by. Justin nodded reassuringly, patting his hyung's back. "You know I would never miss it. This is just my job for the Summer. I'll be training even after work." "Don't overwork yourself!" Euiwoong interjected. "Hyungseob has me too. Don't think about us, take care of yourself." He too was a rather well-known rookie boxer. Justin's feet began to drag the floor as they drew closer and closer to the cafe. He felt his legs shaking as he stumbled down the walkway. "Yah, do you think you'll see any of your opponents? Now that you have placed yourself in such a busy area?" Seunghyuk commented, genuinely pondering about it. Would it put his best friend in danger? Everyone knew Justin was a 'bad boy', even for a fighter, but that was just the reputation that tagged him. Justin's pile of worries only grew taller by the seconds but a calm, collected facade was plastered over his face. "I'll be fine. I'm on Yuehua's elite fighter team. It's just a job. How bad could this be?"
Disastrous! This is terrible! Justin kept his head down, his white flower crown threatening to slip off. Ironically, the more he tried to hide, the more he stuck out like a sore thumb. He tried to slip off behind the counter but was unsuccessful, bumping into Jeong Sewoon in the process. His hyung folded his arms across his chest, quirking an eyebrow. "Yah, Justin, what are you trying to do? New customers just walked in." "That's the thing," he hissed. "Can I quit on my fourth day of work?" Justin was doing all he could do to cover his face, he wanted to keep a low profile. Y/N is here! Cube fighters are here! Sewoon frowned and peered over the younger boy's shoulder. "Why? What's so wrong with them?" He questioned, gesturing for Kim Samuel to attend to them in place of the shaking blonde flower boy. Justin swallowed, feeling absolutely stupid for avoiding his job because of such a filial matter. He wanted to prove that himself that he could handle a mundane job, and not just ones that did not abide by the law. Whatever! I can do this. Justin's confidence and self-assurance melted away like candle wax the second a group of trainees from a rival academy stepped in. He knew them, they too were killer rookies. You, Yoo Seonho, Lai Guanlin and Lim Hui Qi from The Cube Club. There was no real reason to be afraid of them, heck, he was not even sure why his reaction was to run. Maybe discovering his Summer job was more embarrassing than he thought. Then again, maybe he was shy about facing his ex-opponents - Seonho and Guanlin - again. Despite all those thoughts, Justin scooped the pile of menus from Samuel's arms and beamed at the fellow fighters. "Allow me." This is no big deal. This is no big deal. Well, compared to all the other unlawful acts you have committed, this is a far cry from them. Justin did not know the true reason for the sudden jump his heart beat. Was it you? Or was it that you were from Cube?
"So that's him?" Lim Hui Qi asked, squinting her eyes at Justin Huang. "Hmm, he looks different." Lai Guanlin snorted. "The only difference is the shade of blonde his hair is dyed," he paused to take a long sip of his drink. "That kid hasn't changed one bit." You sighed and allowed your head to loll on Hui Qi's shoulder. "Is there a need to do this? I don't understand Coach's logic. Why must we 'keep an eye out' for Justin?" You groaned. There could be a lot of better things I could be doing right now! Seonho and Guanlin aren't even scheduled to spar against him in the next tournament. We get it! Coach wants us to beware of the 'bad boy'. So far, there was not the slightest trace of the famous 'bad boy' character Justin carried around in the circuit. He was rather well-mannered, polite and seemed to be working hard. He also looked very sweet and handsome in his flower boy uniform, complete with a flower crown of course. This place sparked lots of curiosity in you as you had never heard of anything like it. You were not sure what to make of it. Our Two Lips was definitely an interesting place. Pity, Justin doesn't work at the branch near my school. You sighed and rubbed your temples. Snap out of it Y/N! You didn't come here to admire him! "We can just fake a report to Coach," Seonho voiced out his suggestion. "Like he broke his knee or something. That should get him off our backs." Contrary to whatever he said much earlier, Seonho seemed to genuinely enjoy his time here. He probably considered applying for the job. "Hah, like the board will believe that. Justin's fine," Guanlin scoffed. "He's a good fighter if I'm honest. He nearly beat me and only lost by a handful of points." "I wonder why he applied to work here," you blurted out before blushing intensely under the stares of your friends. "I mean, aren't National qualifiers soon? Shouldn't he devote more time to training instead?" Hui Qi shrugged her shoulders, ending the discussion just as Justin approached your table. He smiled, making eye contact with you. You noticed that a very light shade of pink tinged his cheeks. Do!! Not!! Think!! About!! How!! Adorable!! He!! Is!! "A pan-seared halibut?" Justin held the plate of fish and placed it in front of the starving Seonho. "Thank you," he chimed, all angel-like. Don't be flattered, he's like that to anyone who provides him with good food. "Hyung, are you a fisherman? Because you've got me on a hook," Justin chirped charmingly, causing Seonho to let out a soft gasp. Hui Qi nearly fainted when he read out her dish in a cute manner. Justin was good at his job, you would give him that. He's also good at making my heart race...... Fortunately, Guanlin did not receive any sort of flirtatiousness from Justin. He meekly handed Guanlin his meal before running off. "Hmm, looks like Y/N's dish is taking a bit longer," Hui Qi said. "Let's wait for the dish to arrive first." "No, it's fine-" The sentence could not even be finished before Justin rushed back with your food and vanilla milkshake. His smile seemed to light up your entire day. Justin was so elegant and prince-like, there was no doubt his true personality was one that exuded 'royalty' as well. You wanted to know more about him, even if you had to fight him in the arena a few months later. "Who ordered the milkshake?" Your hand was raised shyly, partially because Hui Qi used all her strength to yank it up. "Ahhh," Justin mused. "I guess you'll find me in your yard soon enough." One of his eyelids bat at you in a wink, causing your mind to be completely scrambled. What was the main objective of coming here? Spying out our competition. That did not register anymore.
Justin tore off his flower crown, tying up the ribbons properly before storing it in his duffle bag. He shoved his work attire to the very bottom of his training bag, not everyone had to know about his job and the reason he got it. It was a late afternoon after his shift and now, he had to head towards Yuehua Sports School. His face was already flushed from all the busyness of the cafe but he pressed on. Justin exited the cafe after bidding his hyungs goodbye and started walking towards the bus stop. Really, he could phone his driver but all he wanted to do now was take a nice bus ride, he had not gone on one for a long time. As he neared the bus stop, his eyes narrowed in on a person sitting on the bench. Your signature duffle bag gave you away immediately. Justin's mouth ran dry, he did not know how to react. It was not uncommon both teams saw each other as the two academies were roughly in the same area. However, it was some sort of unspoken rule that neither of the competitors were to enter each other's training grounds. Justin was curious as to what The Cube Club's interior held but that was not the reason he perched timidly on the bench next to yours. It was safe to say you nearly got the shock of your life when you spotted Justin sitting next to you, staring at his trainers. Automatically, you stuffed your shaking hands into your pockets. "Hello." He replied without looking up from staring at the ground. "Hi." "Um, h-how are you?" You inquired. If I'm going to be late, I might as well make the most of this time and talk to him. Justin turned to face you, and fatigue was well worn onto his gorgeous features. Still, he did his best to beam. I'm not sure if even his smile can calm my nerves. Coach will cut me from the team this season if I'm late! "Hey," Justin called out, noticing your trembling form. "Are you okay?" Can't lie now, can I? "Truthfully, no. I'm late for training and...and you know how Cube coaches are," you groaned, burying your face in your hands in despair. "I can't be cut from the team." The rumble of the approaching bus which both of you hastily got on was enough to drown out Justin's reply. He slid into the seat next to yours on board, grinning cheekily. "Don't worry. Let me talk to your coach." You were not sure why you nodded.
Justin allowed his eyes to roll at the number of curious stares he got stepping into The Cube Club when the back of his training shirt read 'Yuehua Sprouts'. Whispers flooded the corridors, especially when your hand wrapped around his arm. You hurriedly burst into your usual training hall, only to find Guanlin sparring against Seonho and Hui Qi with another boxer. She turned her head so that her eyes met yours, mouthing something which you did not catch. "Coach!" Coach stormed up to you, his face sour and darkening when he spotted Justin. You winced, knowing the scene about to unfold would not be pretty. "Coach, I'm so sorry. I missed the bus and-" "I don't want your apologies! I want you to leave! Get out! You're no longer part of the team this season, don't bother coming for training! And, who is he?" Coach spat, pointing an accusing finger at the blonde boy. Justin ruffled his thick hair, smirking. "Good afternoon, coach. Wow, can't believe a Sprout is in your gym, can you?" He halted to let out a low whistle, effectively ticking your coach off even more. "It's good I finally get to meet the person who coached Lai Guanlin and Yoo Seonho. They're really talented and hard working. Pity, I beat Seonho in our category. He would be doing much better if it weren't for your...mediocre training." The look in Justin's eye did a flip, you were not sure who he was. "You...y-you. Rookie, watch your words," was all Coach could manage. Your fellow teammates had slowed down their match just to pay attention to the fiasco. His words did not faze Justin, they only added to the fire. "Ahh, some kind of professional you are. Kicking someone off the team without a legitimate reason. At least listen to Y/N's reason," he stated. "If anything, I'm to blame." At that, you whipped your head round to glare at him as if he was out of his mind. "Coa-" Your mouth clamped shut when Justin wrapped one of his arms around your shoulders. "You see, I saw Y/N at the bus stop and of course, I had to talk to my friend. Don't deprive your team of friends, especially from other academies. They need contacts if they want to hop another level up." Coach's face was turning red with anger but he had no words to utter. "It's a real bonus. Y/N is a beauty, would we not look good together?" A furious blush filled your cheeks at Justin's words while his face remained cold and taunting. Woah, is this the emotionless bad boy? "D-dating is prohibited in Cube!" Coach raged, obviously provoked. "Hmm, shame, using tricks on your trainees. Living their life for them. Now, listen to Y/N's explanation, they missed the bus, it can't be helped. No wonder your team is shaking, they're degrading under your reign. Also, want to lodge a complaint against me? Go ahead, when you can tip-toe to sweep the soles of our feet on our level. Just remember, my coach has dirt on you he can leak any time," Justin growled out, fed up with the unfair treatment. All jaws in the hall were hitting the floor. Your face was burning up and you knew your crush on him had deepened by many metres. This is bad! I can't catch feelings right now! But he is the sweetest person ever, despite whatever happened. Justin removed his arm from your shoulder a little reluctantly, patted your back and did not wait for a reply from your stunned coach before waltzing out of the Cube gymnasium like he owned the building. hesprobablyrichenoughirl He may not own The Cube Club, but he sure holds my heart.
Out of gratitude, you visited Justin's workplace a few days after the whole incident. The guilt would eat you alive if you did not thank him personally. Seeing him in real life was your only option, considering the fact that you did not have his number. Well, you could get it from his fans but you figured it would be much better to get it from him personally. You approached Our Two Lips with a bag of gifts for Justin and a hopeful smile on your face. Since it was in the early opening hours, there was barely anyone occupying the seats. Taking a deep breath, you pushed the glass doors open, stepping into the cafe. Almost immediately, Justin was by your side. He was mid-way of tying his apron properly. "Hello, Y/N!" He greeted cheerfully. "How can I help you?" Justin's eyes seemed to sparkle and gleam with youth and joy. "Uh, hi. I-I actually brought some stuff for you....as a...thank you?" You were so anxious, your voice went up an octave so your words sounded more like a question. Get yourself together, Y/N! Please don't look like a complete fool in front of him! A chuckle left Justin's lips as he took the pretty paper bag from you. "You really didn't have to but I shall accept it. Thank you," he said. If Justin was a cartoon character, there would be a distinctive red blush on his cheeks and hearts over his eyes. He fished around and pulled out a flower crown you commissioned from a florist nearby. Surprise was written all over his face, grinning at the crown. "Wow. You didn't have to, Y/N. Thank you." The flower crown you gave him was one made out of red peonies, the national flower of China. It must have been hard for him to adjust to Korea in such a short time so you decided on something that would remind him of home. Justin peeled his mundane white flower crown off and replaced it with his new one. The red struck a balance between his blonde locks. Reaching for your wrist, he tied the old white one around it as a bracelet. Your breath caught in your throat when his hand enclosed yours. With your face heating up, you cleared your throat. "Will I see you at the tournament next month?" You hoped he would be there. It would be a joy to see him compete. A smirk graced his lips. "Oh, you know I wouldn't miss Nationals for the world," he purred in reply, winking at you. "Will I see you?" "My category is always after yours so most likely. How about you text me your schedule? If you want to see me," you offered. Damn, that was slick. "Deal. If you promise to wear a flower crown identical to mine when you support me, so I can better identify you in the mosh pit," Justin reasoned, still smirking but if he felt as if he was going to melt into a puddle of happiness. After you punched your number into his phone, he sighed. "I would give you my training shirt to wear but that would only piss your coach off more. One of his team members, wearing a Yuehua shirt." Just the mere thought if it made the two of you laugh. "Justin!" One of his hyungs yelled. You huffed, upset that the time you talked to him was short but in a sense, you were disrupting his job. You bid him goodbye but when you had nearly stepped out of the store - now with an iced tea in hand - he shouted something. "Remember the flower crown! If not, I won't be able to see you!"
You did end up wearing the flower crown, earning a ton of teasing from the rest of your team. Just days before the match, Seonho had managed to hack into your phone and exposed all the messages Justin sent - most of them were about the tournament and how he was anticipating it. "Awww, Y/N has a boyfriend!" He had chortled, pinching your cheeks affectionately. "Yah! Stop spewing nonsense. Y/N, who is this brat of a boyfriend? I need to meet him." Guanlin had hissed but in a playful manner. "He isn't my boyfriend!" Your reply had been instantaneous. "Justin and I aren't dating!" The redness of your face was unspeakable of. "Ahh, but he seems like he wants to date you. Good friends don't text each other 'good morning, hope you slept well and dreamt of me' with like two hundred hearts." Hui Qi simpered, unable to hide her smug grin. To that, you had no reply. Today, it appeared that your 'brat of a boyfriend' had to fight against the one who had demanded to meet him. It was like your best friend crush versus your older brother. You were torn between supporting the two competitors. When you consulted Guanlin, he dismissed it with a wave of his hand and returned to bandaging his hands. "Just be there to dry his tears when he loses." His lips curved into a sassy leer as he ruffled your hair - thankfully before you had worn the flower crown. There was no time to visit Justin in his waiting room, besides, it was filled with his teammates and Yuehua Sports School officials. You shuddered under the watchful eyes of the monster rookie team. A part of you was worried for Guanlin, Justin was not one to be overlooked. Then again, Guanlin could handle himself. A good half of the match had flown by while you were still readying for your own round. When Hui Qi called you from the room, it was nearly too late. She hastily fixed your red peony flower crown on before grabbing your hand and running to a safe spot. You felt bad for missing majority of the round but at the same time, it was painful to watch your two friends pretty much beat each other up. I hope Justin doesn't feel discouraged that he didn't see me earlier!
Keep your head up! Keep your head up! Over the roars of the crowd and the shouts of his coach, Justin strained his ears to hear your cheers. He tried to scan the rows of spectators for you. Guanlin managed to get a few good digs at him whilst he was distracted, keeping an eye out for red peonies. Do your best for Y/N! Snap into it! He was disappointed you were not present to support either of them but forced himself to concentrate on the match. The bright red peony which Zheng Ting inked - using a marker - on his arm reminded him of why he was fighting. Oh wow, who would have expected a flower boy to be a legal fighter? Or rather, who would have expected a fighter to be a flower boy? In the mosh pit, Sewoon and Samuel's jaws had hit the floor, their eyes wide and glossy. Guanlin was playing with him, circling him like a predator. Justin did admire the older boy, he knew he was not good enough to beat him. Concentrate! He gritted his teeth and aimed a few more punches at his opponent. One was successful, the other was blocked. Just a few more minutes! Then, you can cool off, find Y/N. "Justin!" He perked up at the sound of your scream. You were there! Supporting him! Millions of butterflies erupted in his stomach in that moment. It did not matter that Guanlin had essentially taken him down and was going extremely easy on him for he knew he had won inevitably. The bell chimed, signalling the end of the round and announcing the winner. Loud screams resounded for Guanlin. Usually, Justin would be flooded with misery if he lost, especially to someone from Cube but this time, he was bubbling with triumph that someone - more importantly, you - from Cube was supporting him. You dashed to his side of the ring as soon as it had ended, calling out his name. He beamed brightly as soon as he caught sight of you running in his direction. You pulled him in for a quick, sweaty hug, rubbing his back comfortingly. "You must be sad. Losing a qualifying round to Lin." "Eh, you know I'll get through these rounds anyway. I'll see you in National Semis," he replied confidently, not letting go. A deep frown etched onto your mouth. "Uh, Justin? You do realise that this puts you one step further from the trophy? That's all you've been texting me about the whole weekend!" You shot back, pulling away and gently smacking his chest. You plucked your flower crown off your head and adjusted it to fit his. The pairs of eyes trained on the both of you were uncountable, the flashes of cameras went off every few seconds. Interaction between the two rival teams was rare. And everyone wanted a picture of Justin Huang in a flower crown. Justin had a cute, boyish grin on his face as he wrapped his arms around the nape of your neck. His soft lips met your cheek. "Oh, Y/N." "Don't you know that you're the best prize I would never deserve?"

i feel like we always ask you about books so today i wanna ask you some anime recs :)
HOW INTERESTING THAT YOU SHOULD COME TO ME NOW, JUST AFTER I FINISHED ATTEMPTING TO BRIBE A TWITTER MUTUAL WITH A PHYSICAL CAKE SO THAT SHE WOULD WATCH AN ANIME I LOVE. i am always happy to share anime recs.
ping pong: the animation (dir. masaaki yuasa): effusive yutaka “peco” hoshino and reserved makoto “smile” tsukimoto have been best friends since day one, and both of them love to play ping pong. peco, a child prodigy at the sport, loves it with all of his soul, and is so confident in his own talent that he’s become arrogant; while smile, in spite of his natural talent, does not take ping pong seriously, seeing it as nothing more than a way to pass the time. things are shaken up for the boys by the arrival of wenge “china” kong, a chinese player sent to redeem himself in japan after being kicked off the national team, who skunks peco in their first match, sending him spiraling into crisis; meanwhile, smile catches the interest of the school’s coach, a former star player, who is determined to make sure smile does not waste his talent. also joining the cast are manabu “akuma” sakuma, peco’s belligerent rival since childhood, and ryuichi “dragon” kazama, vanguard of the elite ping pong team at kaio academy. when all is said and done, will smile and peco’s friendship—and the love of ping pong that bonds them—remain? i urge everyone to watch this anime; it is perhaps the best i’ve ever seen. a work of art, of joy, of sadness and failure and triumph—a tribute to being alive, and to what it means to love something so much you feel like there’s no point in being alive if you can’t do it. and the animation, voice acting, and score are outstanding! 11 episodes.
the tatami galaxy (dir. masaaki yuasa): an unnamed college student is perpetually dissatisfied with his life, bemoaning the fact that he can never seem to grasp that “rose-colored campus life” he was certain he would have upon attending college in kyoto. just about the only thing he has in his corner is his mischievous frenemy, ozu, who drags him into scheme after scheme that only seem to make his situation worse; and a fellow student, akashi, who the protagonist has feelings for, but can never quite seem to spit it out. after a bad break-up sends him over the edge into total cynicism, he starts to wonder if his college years would have been spent differently (i.e., better) if he had chosen to join a different club on his first day. unbeknownst to him, the desire to go back and do it over again does send him back in time—each episode is an alternate timeline based on which club he joined. no matter how things change, though, he always seems to keep running into ozu, to just miss akashi, and to get involved with a man calling himself higuchi, who claims to be a god of matrimony; a bone-headed popular senior named jougasaki; and a beautiful but intense dental hygienist named hanuki. in the protagonist’s quest for the perfect college life, however, will he miss what’s right in front of him? i really love yuasa as you can probably tell and this, just like ping pong, is beautifully animated, great fun, and unexpectedly moving. a testament to the little things, to seeing the beauty and wonder in what we have. and the opening and ending are GOD TIER. 11 episodes.
gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun (dir. mitsue yamazaki): if you somehow haven’t watched this yet, please love yourself and do it. a romantic comedy series that follows 16-year-old chiyo sakura’s attempts to woo her crush, umetarou nozaki, gsnk, contrary to the shoujo form, actually begins with her confessing to him—but he misunderstands and gives her... his autograph?! yes, it turns out nozaki moonlights as a hugely successful shoujo romance mangaka, and he’s been needing an assistant, and sakura is in the art club... convenient! this show has it all—uproarious humor, masterful comedic timing, incredibly charming characters, and just the right dose of heartfelt romance to warm any heart. other cast members include mikoto mikoshiba, nozaki’s best friend, whose flirtatious antics constantly cause him to nearly die of embarrassment; yuzuki seo, chiyo’s best friend, a brash and oblivious jock with a beautiful singing voice; hirotaka wakamatsu, a mild-mannered basketball player constantly aggrieved by seo’s bullying; yuu kashima, star of the drama club and dashing prince of the school; and masayuki hori, drama club president and kashima’s ever-frustrated director. love is in the air not just for sakura, but for a few others, as well—it’s going to be an interesting year! 12 episodes.
kids on the slope (dir. shinchiro watanabe): kaoru nishimi is a shy and depressed honor student, classically trained to play the piano, who has spent his entire life moving from town to town due to the nature of his father’s job. at the beginning of the summer of 1966, he is sent to a small coastal town in kyushu to live with relatives, and is prepared for another year of loneliness until his world is turned on its axis when he meets delinquent sentaro kawabuchi. the two develop a strange and unlikely friendship, and kaoru soon discovers that sentaro, or sen, is an avid fan of jazz, then an emergent form of music in japan, and plays the drums in the basement of a record store owned by the family of his childhood friend, ritsuko mukae, with whom kaoru immediately falls in love. when ritsuko says that she would love to hear kaoru and sen play together, kaoru begins to acquaint himself with jazz, too, and finds that it holds more magic than he expected. part classic coming-of-age drama, part love letter to the jazz genre, this series was, fun fact, directed by the man behind cowboy bebop and samurai champloo—so, like, if that isn’t a testament to its quality, i don’t know what is. it will make you cry, though. just warning you.
silver spoon (dir. tomohiko ito): desperate to escape the pressures of his home life, beleaguered honor student yuugo hachiken foresakes his chances of attending an elite tokyo high school and applies to ezonoo agricultural school in hokkaido. at first holding himself a rung above his peers, due to his perception of them as bumpkins who have never had to work hard academically due to their security as farmers, hachiken quickly learns that there’s a lot he doesn’t know, and he’ll have to work hard if he wants to keep up with his peers. though initially withdrawn, hachiken comes to make many new friends, and soon begins to take his studies seriously, earnestly trying to learn all he can about the world of agriculture and how it affects the lives of his friends. this series is easily something i’d call “the feel-good story of the decade,” but it also has many profound and emotional moments, and a hugely relatable protagonist in hachiken. it’s definitely a comedy, but at its heart, it’s one of those special series that kind of takes your hand and smiles at you and says, “yeah. i get it. i know how you feel. but it’s all right. life’s pretty fun, even if you don’t notice.”
hyouka (dir. yasehiro takemoto): to this day i’m still a bit stunned that kyoto animation managed to come out with something as good as hyouka, since it’s so different from their other works, but the truth is there. it’s simple, with a cast of only four characters and few recurring side ones; a subdued score using mostly public domain classical pieces, a quiet high school as the backdrop, a close and intimate portrait of the four kids it brings together. the PV actually does a fine job of introducing the characters—apathetic houtarou, inquisitive eru, cheerful satoshi, and caustic mayaka—so i won’t go into that too much. essentially, houtarou is urged by his sister to sign up for the classics club after no one else does, since it will be disbanded if it does not have at least one member. much to his surprise, someone else already has signed up by the time he does—a curious girl named eru with an insatiable appetite for mysteries. though houtarou lives by a philosophy of what he calls “energy conservation,” eru has a power over him (read: he has a big, beautiful crush on her) that compels him to go along with her antics, and his penetrating intellect doesn’t help much. satoshi, houtarou’s best friend, and mayaka, a childhood... acquaintance of houtarou’s, also join the club, and hyouka chronicles all of the things that happen to them over the course of their school year. when asked about the meaning behind the title (”hyouka” means “frozen dessert”), the author of the novels said, “the colour of youth is like ice cream. its many flavours are like the spectrum of a rainbow, but no matter how it tastes, what doesn’t change is its richness and flavour. another distinguishing feature of ice cream is the short time one has to eat it, and how we must take care to avoid polluting it. it’s just like how youth is full of numerous possibilities, but its fragile and limited energy is easily challenged by the outside world.” i think that probably speaks for itself in alluding to the bittersweet tone of the series. it really is one of my favorites.
and, because my fingers are getting tired: yu yu hakusho is my favorite shounen series by a mile and one of the few for which i highly recommend the dub—it’s long though, 100+ episodes, but worth every minute. i’ll be glad to go into why yyh specifically is the best in a separate post if anyone is interested bc hoo boy. uchouten kazoku season 1 is great and one of my favorites but season 2 was kind of eh to me. if you like action and tragic romance, kyoukai no kanata is my second-fave kyoani series after hyouka, though it does have some fanservicey bits and fetishy humor that kind of date it a little bit. and if you haven’t started boku no hero academia yet—PLEASE GET ON THAT; IT’S SO MUCH FUN!
and, of course, the anime of my heart and soul: lovely complex, a romcom about a tall girl and a short boy, and their arduous, hilarious, heart-melting journey from vitriolic best buds to lovers. hits all the right notes. no other shoujo compares. it’s a series that anyone and everyone can AND WILL enjoy.
i hope that’s enough to get you started! :’D pls let me know what you think if you watch any

headcanon dump! (1)
hello friends! i’ve been wanting to do one of these for a while and i haven’t and i honestly don’t know why lmao? here are just a bunch of hc’s i’ve been meaning to at least write out and keep on this blog. note that none of these are particularly important and are small little things that i think of randomly throughout my ( many ) hours of thinking about qrow.
❝ ( 01. ) ➠ › › qrow, as we know, is an alcoholic. however, he is not always the drunkard lying around and being useless all day. he is a very functional alcoholic and, though he shouldn’t, tends to do things like drive as well as use his weapon while under the influence of alcohol. he’s been doing this for a while now, approximately since he was twenty years old. ❝ ( 02. ) ➠ › › qrow has been drinking since he was about sixteen ( before he came to beacon. ) he’s only been officially considered ‘ alcoholic ‘ since he was twenty-five. he also started smoking at seventeen, due to a group of kids he got involved with during his time with beacon. he’s been addicted ever since. ❝ ( 03. ) ➠ › › thought he tends have an alcoholic beverage ( most often a whiskey of some sort ) he has a strange scent about him. he has a pine-y scent to him, and smells more of the woods than he should while in populated places. he smells like cigarette smoke and alcohol most of the time, though. ❝ ( 04. ) ➠ › › qrow is very much queer. especially when he was younger, he had a lot of body dysphoria. because he spent so much time with his sister when they were younger, the two were almost exactly the same. this changed of course when they hit their teens and they began growing about mentally and physically. the physical part of these emotions came a lot sooner. qrow watched as his sister’s body change from his, and it make him extremely uncomfortable after a lengthy talk about his feelings about this, raven allowed him to often wear her underwear. she also taught him to walk in heels and do makeup, hair, and nails ❝ ( 05. ) ➠ › › qrow came to terms with his own identity intenerally during his time at beacon, surrounded by fellow queer people, he concluded that he wanted to identify as genderless: he/him and they/them pronouns. ❝ ( 06. ) ➠ › › qrow loves doing ruby and yang’s hair and probably helped dye ruby’s hair hahaha. when they were younger their sleepovers consisted of ‘ uncle qrow, uncle qrow! do our nails! ‘ and qrow of course complying because he is a nerd and loves his nieces. ❝ ( 07. ) ➠ › › qrow’s partner in his beacon days was summer! ( like how yang and blake are/weiss and ruby are ) ❝ ( 08. ) ➠ › › qrow’s favorite subjects in school were history and engineering. from my other hc’s ( his drinking and smoking habits. ) qrow may seem like a delinquent character, but he is actually quite studious. he may be a trouble maker, but he tended to get his schoolwork done, as close to on time as possible. he was an average C+/B student. ❝ ( 09. ) ➠ › › qrow has done drugs, though he has ceased using them after taking up his teaching job at signal academy. ( he has been clean for about six/seven years now. ) when he was in college he smoked almost copious amounts of weed, but dabbled in others. ( often heroine, and possibly a dust-like drug, going off of the idea that people infuse dust into their body. ) after summer died he had a long period of extreme addiction to the aforementioned heroin and couldn’t stop despite his need to be there for ruby and yang. he’s extremely ashamed of this part of his life, and is honestly trying his best to a) stay clean and b) do anything he can for ruby and yang to make up for this.
