If I had a nickel for every book I’ve read this year where a main character eats raw wild mushrooms and doesn’t die I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it sure makes me wish writers did more research on foraging
#at least one of the books was a sci-fi novel with technology that could make certain the mushrooms were safe#the other book was worse because they were white mushrooms in the middle of the forest#at least do a spore print first jfc#do you know how many poisonous white mushrooms are out there#mycotoxins are no joke
