Hey, welcome to my blob!
This is the official art/adjacent sideblog for @thebigcj and @alli-bby. Here is where we will be posting our art (among other assorted procrastinations)! I am a newbie artist, I mean ofc I've been around a while, so I've done a whole bunch of worse art in the past, but this is sort of like the next step, y'know?
You can call me w/e (as long as it's not "late for dinner", I don't cotton to liars). Pronouns are she/her i suppose
I am v v into Homestuck atm so p much 90% of my stuff will be HS related, but I also plan on doing other things and my own stuff. I have an original series on Webtoon called Super Fish Legs. It was made (and abandoned) several years ago, but now I have an excuse to get back into it!
Here I will also be posting some original content related infodumps and nerd rants (I am quite aurtistic), including but not limited to; OC worldbuilding, HS fansessions, discussing techniques and constructive criticism, and various other things instead of doing my homework!
A lot of my early stuff will be kinda mid (except for Shitty Karkat; the skrunkly) so follow so you can watch my progress as an artist! This is just a mild hobby so don't expect frequent updates (unless I am in ADHD Hyperfocus Overdrive)
Here are some tags I frequently use! (All CJ tags also apply to Alli)
#cj did art - I do art
#cj infodumps - I infodump, but sometimes… I just regular talk
#cj talks - I just regular talk, but sometimes... I infodump
#ask cj - PLEASE bother me with questions and statements and recommendations and prompts, I will try to respond to as many as possible
#fanfic chat - Talking about fanfiction; will most likely just end up being my own.
#art wip - Art that is work-in-progress
#cj style - Art that is done in my art style, but that will change drastically as I do not have a set “style” yet.
#canon style - Art that is styled as closely as my skill allows to the source material; in the case of Homestuck, this specifically refers to sprites.
#hero mode - Art that is styled as closely as my skill allows to the Homestuck frame style called Hero Mode. Not necessarily Homestuck characters but pretty much just Homestuck characters
#ms paint - Art that is made on Microsoft Paint (Windows 10)
#[art program name] - Art that is made on [art program]
#physical art - Art that is drawn on paper and photographed
#mouse art - Duh
#tablet art - Also Duh
#fansession - my Homestuck Fansession. I'm very proud of this
#miststuck - my Homestuck AU based on Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. Technically also a Mistborn AU.

Great tutorial on writing aliens, by CJ Cherryh, one of science fiction's greats. Text version:
Writing SF 101: creating aliens (physically). I sketch. And I do have an idea what my characters look like. I don't do it as much as I used to, because I do it in my head. But I can give you some of the common sense principles of alien life.
1. It's either going to subdivide (cf my methane-breathers), or it's going to come from smallness to largeness. Round or oblate are the most likely shapes for a starter. Or as my art teacher used to say, a good balanced statue ought to be able to be rolled downhill without losing bits. Your alien may grow bits AFTER birth, but before that, “round” rules. The baby needs to tuck into a ball. What can't tuck has to be miniaturized to grow later.
2. The smarter it is, the more helpless likely at birth: brains are hungry and take a lot of resources. You could postulate the brain as one of those “expands later” items, but there's likely to be a high death rate from stupid early on, and parental care would probably depart immediately if not wired for “cute” recognition. And there's little “cute” about a raging offspring.
3. Radial symmetry is possible (cf the octopus) and possibly even a radial division in brains, but indecision could be a downside outcome.
4. The smarter a critter is the more apt it is to be a predator. It's that hungry brain thing. Protein! and a lot of it. The more non-predatory a critter is, the more time it has to feed instead of think, and the big physical investment tends to be in a large processing center, ie, gut.
5. Flight. Same problem. It can be reaction-clever, but deep philosophy doth not accompany the devotion of body resources toward a flight apparatus. Also, as dinos found out, both large bodies and little flight-capable ones do require a supercharger apparatus - air sacs can make bones lighter, but you can also parlay them into a breathing style in which you constantly inhale. Study birds. They're alien, and cool.
That's a starter. Enjoy the thought problems.

What I’m Watching In The Second Season Of DWTCS
The UFC found a bit of a hit through Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series. It was basically in so many words its own regional promotion, running through the summer there were five fights a week with a winner (or two and in some cases three) getting contracts into the UFC. It worked to restock the shelves at the higher weight classes (Julian Marquez and Karl Roberson had successful debuts, Mike Rodriguez has some upside plus they got two HWs) while giving us a bantamweight or two to get giddy about. In many ways it stripped away the silliness of Lookin' For A Fight and gave us the nitty gritty of seeing a few well known regional guys plus some under the radar prospects getting an opportunity to showcase their stuff.
It's returning this summer across two different continents; a version in the States rumored to be projected for a TV run and a Brazilian version which is apparently going to be pre-taped on Fight Pass. Either way, the format is returning and the awesome folks at MMA-Today have amassed a crazy amount of names, fights and dates. You can take a peek at it yourself here (https://mma-today.com/complete-guide-dana-whites-tuesday-night-contender-series-season-2). Taking a curious little gander at what we've got so far, here's some of the fights I'm really excited to take a look at:
Nick Newell vs TBA
The concept of Nick Newell fighting in the UFC seems hard to believe even at this current point in time. Newell's an inspirational story but also a fighter who was twice (maybe more?) sent home from TUF try outs and had to basically fight his way up the ranks from regional AXS shows to an NBC spot on WSOF. The UFC has always been risk averse when it comes to signings and Newell is a risky venture. Whether he's UFC quality enough is irrelevant compared to whether he can be presented to the UFC audience/sponsors/mainstream TVs in a fair manner. Newell is not a charity case; he's a good fighter worthy of at least this opportunity. I'm mostly curious to see who they match him up with and whether or not it's a lay up or a serious regional lightweight. By this point we know there's no shortage of good lightweights out there looking for work.
Greg Hardy vs Brandon Sayles
Okay. I totally understand the agita and the emotion behind seeing Greg Hardy wearing UFC gloves and getting ready to fight for the DWTCS. Here's the reality though; somebody ultimately was going to take a chance on Greg Hardy. This is a guy who will walk in the door as one of the best athletes in any organization he's involved in. He's simply far too talented and far too controversial to not get this opportunity. I lived through the Greg Hardy saga in 2015 as a Cowboys fan and he's everything they say and then some be it positively or negatively. It's honorable to not want questionable characters in the fine sport of mixed martial arts but to deny the correlation between bad characters and combat sports is a bad idea. The Contender Series, if you're going to take a chance on a Greg Hardy type, is the place to do it. If he works out then you've at least had him test himself vs a pretty decent regional big dude before signing him and you can dip your toe into the waters of public backlash without getting the full assortment. If he loses? You milked his name value to find a HW and pop a number.
Jordan Espinosa vs Riley Dutro
The UFC brought Jordan Espinosa in thinking that he'd be a good filler for Jon Dodson teammate and Jackson-Wink fighter Nick Urso. Espinosa left no doubt who the better fighter was as he dominated Dutro en route to a first round submission win. Espinosa didn't get a shot (likely due to his so so record) but he's getting a second shot to earn a spot. He'ss one of those dudes who carries a journeyman style record at 12-5 but features some good names to suggest he is a UFC quality type of fighter. Wins over CJ Hamilton (another DWTCS guy), the aforementioned Urso and previous TUF 18 prospect Rafael De Freitas. Riley Dutro is riding a seven fight winning streak with 4 straight finishes with some familiar names like Darren Uyenoyama and Yusaku Nakamura.
Maki Pitolo vs. Chibwikem Onyenegecha
So as someone who watches way way too much of Victory FC, I've seen my fair share of Maki Pitolo. He reminds me a bit of a Frank Camacho type fighter; the sort of brawler who can do a little bit of everything and have some exciting fights. I thought Pitolo was for sure on his way to the UFC but then he lost two straight in humiliating fashion to Kassuis Kayne (who he had previously swept) and regional gatekeeper Dakota Cochrane. The tongue twister-y Chibwikem Onyenegecha is an undefeated prospect who is the top protege of former UFC fighter Matt Grice, so much so in fact that Grice helped dude move from Oakland to Oklahoma. He's coming off a brutal finish in LFA.
Kennedy Nzechukwu vs Dennis Bryant
The UFC really wanted to sign Kennedy Nzechukwu going into his first DWTCS appearance. He's a big athletic dude who trains with some UFC quality dudes like Damon Jackson, Stephen Peterson and Alonzo Menifield. His story is unique; an immigrant from Nigeria who fights to care for his mother who is battling Lou Gherig's disease. The problem was he simply didn't perform well enough to actually get a deal from the organization. Now perhaps that's a fault of matchmaking since Anton Berzin was a TUF castmate and had double the experience of Kenneddy Nzechukwu, all in all painting the picture of a dude who survived an opportunity that maybe wasn't ideal for him. He's had a fight since and gets a rebound chance on the second season against a dude who is essentially a filler name. Dennis Bryant is straight out of Alaska Fighting Championship so we made it, fellas.
Antonina Shevchenko vs. Silvana Gómez Juárez
This really doesn't have much to do with Silvana who I don't know a ton about. Instead it has to do with Antonina who is almost a lock to be signed unless she has a total stinker. 125 lbs could use more faces and unlike anybody else, Antonina has some hype coming into the UFC. I don't expect her to be as good as her sister (and competing in the same division as Valentina caps her upside tremendously) but she absolutely has a chance to make the roster with a win.
Juan Adams vs Shawn Teed
I mean let's be fair here; these are big men. Every big man fight on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series is sort of kind of a big deal given how thin the HW division remains. As such, a fight between Ricardo Almeida product Shawn Teed and LFA's Juan Adams is a fight where the winner stands a better chance at getting a contract over a fight between two great welterweights.
Oscar Cota vs Greg Rabello
One thing the Dana White Tuesday Night Contenders Series spoke openly about was wanting to find a way to incorporate not just American fighters into the mix. Oscar Cota is an interesting attempt to dig into some different areas to find a fighter. Sporting a 10-1 record, Cota's the ultra rare Mexican HW and he was one of the first big names added to the second season. He gets a REALLY tough matchup vs Greg Rabello ho is the sort of tried and tested regional level doughy guy who competed on the first season of the Contenders Series.

ClickBank: The Brutally Honest, Must-Read Guide for 2020
So you want to make money through affiliate marketing, huh?
You can smell the moolah.
And among hundreds of affiliate marketing networks out there, all promising you a piece of the scrumptious $12 billion pie, one has caught your fancy.
ClickBank.
But there’s a problem.
You’ve heard a lot of good things about ClickBank.
You’ve also heard many bad things.
What’s true? What’s fiction? Can you really make money on ClickBank? How can you successfully navigate the rich but perilous ClickBank waters?
That’s what this step-by-step guide is all about.
An unvarnished look at ClickBank, warts and all.
Let’s get to it.
ClickBank: Q&A
What is ClickBank?
Founded in 1998 in a garage in San Diego California, ClickBank is one of the granddaddies of affiliate marketing networks.
You can make money with ClickBank as a product vendor or affiliate marketer without working like a frazzled cubicle slave.
Here are some staggering numbers about the ClickBank marketplace:
200 million customers spread across 190 countries
87th largest Internet retailer in North America
276 categories and 21562 product listings
6 million entrepreneurs on the platform
Over 200 million dollars in annual sales
In short: you can make a killing on the network.
The best part?
Joining a lucrative affiliate program on ClickBank is not labor-intensive like writing for money or making money blogging.
ClickBank is a good option for bloggers and entrepreneurs who wish to promote digital and lifestyle products.
How is ClickBank Different From Other Affiliate Networks?
ClickBank is not your typical traditional affiliate network.
Five good things stand out:
Simplicity. The sign-up process is straightforward. You can sign-up within a few minutes and start trading without complicated paperwork to fill or administrative hoops to jump through.
Inclusivity. Anyone can join the network for free. It’s perfect for beginners who want to learn the ropes of affiliate marketing.
Duality. On most affiliate marketing networks you go in either as a vendor or an affiliate. ClickBank allows you to enter the fray both as a vendor and a marketer so you maximize your earnings.
Large Selection. With thousands of dazzling affiliate products in every conceivable niche to choose from, your affiliate program choices are numerous.
Good Commission Rates. ClickBank pays high commissions of up to 75% or even 100%. Plus, they pay fast so you won’t have to wait long to splurge on that you-know-what you’ve had your eye on.
However, there are cons as well:
Slow Customer Service. Some reports from the Better Business Bureau claim ClickBank may take up to 7 days to respond to customer emails.
Charges on Dormant ClickBank Accounts. You are charged $1 per day after 90 days of no earnings, $5 per day after 180 days of inactivity, and a hefty $50 per day after 360 days of no sales.
Some Junk Products. More about how to overcome this in a bit.
Fierce Competition for Quality Programs. A good problem to have, if you ask me.
What are the Sign Up Requirements for ClickBank?
ClickBank is free for anyone, both new affiliates and old, to join.
All you need to join is:
Live in an eligible country (United States, Canada, etc.)
Enable cookies in your browser
Have a Tax ID or Social Security number (if you live in the U.S.)
If you plan to register as a vendor, you must pay a one-time activation fee of $49.95. You pay only $29.95 for any additional accounts.
What Affiliate Programs are Available with ClickBank?
Whether you are a tentative newbie who wants to dip a toe into this make-money-online thing or a veteran who wants to grow her earnings, ClickBank has got you covered.
There are many affiliate programs and product categories to choose from:

As Seen on TV

Free Bonus: How to Go From $0 to $1,000 in Passive Income With Affiliate Marketing
What are ClickBank’s Payment Methods?
With ClickBank, you can receive payments in four different ways:
Payment Method #1: Check
The good old paper check is the default payment option. It’s mailed to the address listed in your account.
Payment Method #2: Direct Deposit
ClickBank offers direct deposit in the U.S. and other select countries at no extra charge. Direct deposits take 1-2 business days to reach your account.
Payment Method #3: Wire Transfer
You can receive payments by wire transfer. This option is for countries not covered by international direct deposit. Payments take up to 5 days (depending on where you live).
Payment Method #4: Payoneer
You can also get paid using the Payoneer Mastercard, an international money transfer service you can get for free. Payoneer allows you to open a U.S bank account where your money is deposited.
As you see, ClickBank gives you a lot of options. Plus:
ClickBank doesn’t tie you to the payment method you’ve chosen.
You can change your payment method at any time. It’s your money, so you receive it your way. But, it may take up to seven days for the new payment method to work.
Whenever you change your email address or password, you can’t switch payment methods for a week. This protects you from fraudsters.
You can set the payment threshold as low as $10.
Is ClickBank a Scam? Or, as the Kids Would Say, is ClickBank Legit?
Is ClickBank an elaborate racket or a genuine online business?
Yes, it’s true. Some ClickBank affiliate programs are of low quality. Overhyped junk products are a dime a dozen. But that’s half the story.
There are solid programs on there too.
ClickBank’s like a mega supermarket packed with assorted goods.
Don’t like what’s on the shelf? No problem. Move to another aisle. You’ll soon find what you want.
With a seemingly infinite number of digital products from entrepreneurs all over the world to choose from, your perfect product awaits.
That’s why millions of entrepreneurs are on the platform. Some ClickBank affiliates and vendors have been with them for decades.
But, ultimately, it’s your reputation on the line. You owe it to yourself and your audience to double-check every program before you join it.
Here are some tips to help:
5 Smart Ways Not To Get Burned on ClickBank
To weed out the garbage and uncover the gemstones, follow these tips when choosing a product:
1. Try the product first
You genuinely want to help people, right? Then why not ask for a review sample product from the vendor to see if it’s the real deal. If they say no, buy the product yourself. This way, you’ll be sure of the product’s authenticity.
2. Check the product reviews
Scour through customers’ feedback about the product you intend to sell. Not just reviews by other affiliates because those may be biased. Look for reviews on trusted review sites like Trust Pilot. If the product is popular, it’s likely to have been reviewed somewhere on the web.
3. Check the product’s gravity score
Gravity is the number of affiliates who have sold a vendor’s product in the last 12 weeks. The higher the gravity, the higher the product’s trustworthiness. Each gravity point is an endorsement of the product.
4. Watch out for overblown claims
While it’s possible to make money on ClickBank, it’s not magic. If a program promises you a million dollars overnight while you binge-watch Friends on Netflix, stay away.
They’re fake. They’re tricksters. And they’re out to get you.
Run, and never look back.
5. Be on the lookout for shadowy vendors
Cheats lurk in the shadows. They don’t want to show their faces.
Google vendors that interest you.
Can’t find them? Think twice.
Good vendors have a traceable online history.
Editor’s Note:
These tips aren’t only for ClickBank — smart bloggers and entrepreneurs use them for CJ Affiliate, ShareASale, eBay Partner Network, Amazon Associates, and every other affiliate network.
It doesn’t matter how much affiliate marketing experience you have or how well known the affiliate network is, you need to do your homework.
How Do I Sign Up for ClickBank?
Let’s go through the step-by-step process.
To sign up for an account, go to clickbank.com and click on ‘create account’ on the top right side of the menu.
Tumblr media
Next:
Step 1: Fill in your personal info
Tumblr media
Make sure you complete all fields otherwise you won’t be able to move to the next step.
Click on ‘next step.’
Step 2: Provide your bank details
Remember to check the small box to acknowledge that you’ve read the terms and conditions.
Tumblr media
If you want to be paid through your company enter your business name in the Payee field instead of your personal name.
Your bank info is not used to send payments. That’s why they don’t ask for your account number, just the name of your primary bank.
You pick a payment method after your account is created.
Click on ‘next step’ to move on to the last step.
Step 3: Create your account
You’ll then be asked to create a nickname.
Your nickname is your user ID. It’s visible to all customers, so don’t make it too personal.
Tumblr media
Affiliate marketing strategy expert Warren Wheeler shares a little-known but powerful secret you can use when creating your ClickBank user ID.
The last step is creating your password. Once you’ve chosen a strong password, click ‘create account’ to finalize your account.
You’ll see a customer survey page. Once you see it, know that your account is now active.
Congratulations!
You’re now ready to do business on one of the biggest affiliate marketplaces in the world.
How Does ClickBank Work? Crucial Code Terms To Master
Before you begin choosing ClickBank affiliate programs, be sure to familiarize yourself with the language used on the platform.
Here are some key ClickBank terms to master:
Gravity – This figure tells you how many affiliates have successfully sold the product in the past 12 weeks. The higher the gravity the greater your chances of succeeding with that program. It’s updated daily and can go up to 600+. A product with a gravity score of at least 50 is a safe bet.
Initial $/Sale – This number portrays the average dollar value of an initial sale, excluding rebills, credited to the affiliate.
Avg %/Sale – Represents the average affiliate commission percentage for a sale, including both initial and rebill commissions.
Avg %/Rebill – Represents the average total affiliate commission percentage for a sale, including only rebill commission, for a recurring billing product.
Your true north? The one metric that should guide you?
Gravity.
Why?
Because it shows you what’s selling now.
All other metrics are secondary.
Most affiliate marketers rush headlong, look for the product with the biggest commission and highest gravity.
That’s the wrong way to go about it.
Here’s how to do it right…
How To Make Money With ClickBank: Unearthing Gem Programs And Sidestepping Rubble
Let’s say you want to sell a health and fitness product.
First, click on the affiliate marketplace on the menu and then choose your category on the left:
Tumblr media
You’ll then see a list of products displayed. You can choose how the results are sorted: popularity, Ave $/Sale, Initial $/Sale, Ave %/Sale, Gravity, and so on.
Tumblr media
Results are sorted according to a program’s popularity by default. Zoom into the product that meets your predetermined metrics. Two crucial metrics to consider are gravity and Average $/Sale aka your cut.
Here’s a product with potential:
Tumblr media
With a high gravity of 137 and a fine commission of $66, this program can be a moneymaker. Now that you’ve found a good product, it’s time to click promote and enjoy the delightful ka-ching cash register sound, right?
Not so fast, my friend.
Dig deeper.
Go to the program’s affiliate page to find out more about the product.
Tumblr media
Always be on the lookout for vendors with affiliate promotion tools pages. These are serious vendors who have done the heavy lifting for you to make your work easier.
Typical tools you’ll find include:
Banners
Product images
Videos
Pre-sell content
Swipes for email marketing campaigns
Keywords
Press releases
Landing pages / sales pages
Opt-in rates
Customer demographics
Here’s an example:
Tumblr media
Surely with all these materials on hand, even a slacker like you can make this work. 🙂 Remember, these tools are tried and tested. Use them as they are. Only tweak them if you are double sure the change will make them a better fit for your audience.
Another cool tip is to search for discounts on the affiliate program page so you get a bigger cut.
When you’re done, click promote, fill in your account details, and grab the affiliate links you’ll use to promote the product:
Tumblr media
That’s how you join a solid program.
Now, want to explode your profits?
How To Make Money On ClickBank: 4 Top Tips to Rake In Big Bucks
I won’t lie to you.
Making money on ClickBank, like anything worthwhile, won’t be smooth sailing, especially at the beginning.
It’ll take creativity, trial and error, a jumbo size coffee urn for that much-needed caffeine fix — and loads of patience.
Here are 4 tips to help get you started:
1. Don’t be obsessed with high gravity and $/Sale
It’s not necessarily the product with the highest gravity or Ave$/Sale you should focus on.
Programs with a very high Av$/Sale have stiffer competition.
And, they usually have lower conversions.
Those in the middle have higher conversions.
Find the right balance.
2. Wrap up your offer in relevant content
Successful affiliate offers hinge on context. You can put the offer on your newsletter, a high-performing blog post, or on a ‘products we recommend’ page.
Here’s a little case study of this tactic right here on Smart Blogger. Click on ‘Tools We Recommend’ on the menu and you’ll see this:
Tumblr media
What I love about this is that they don’t just provide a bare shopping list of resources like many WordPress sites do. They package their recommendations in the form of a post. This way the endorsements look natural, not forced.
The result? More sales.
You can craft a special piece of content for specific offers.
Think of it like a jigsaw puzzle. Your free content provides a piece that can only be completed by the offer.
3. Get the product/audience fit right
With thousands of flashy products on show, the temptation to promote any top-selling program to your audience is strong.
Resist it.
Two reasons:
If your offers aren’t a good fit for your audience, you won’t make money, period. Eventually, you’ll get discouraged and curse the ClickBank gurus for ‘misleading’ you.
Offers that don’t resonate with your audience will wear them down. They’ll develop ‘offer blindness’. They won’t respond to future offers. Ultimately, they’ll stop trusting you.
Only join programs that add value to your audience.
It’s best for everyone.
Your audience will adore you for proposing great products to them.
You’ll make more money.
4. Create an evergreen YouTube funnel

The Hip Hop Holy Trinity Status Update & 10 Slept on Artists
Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J Cole are the 3 biggest artists of this new generation of Hip Hop. This new Holy Trinity of Hip Hop has captivated fans across the globe, myself included. Much to the delight of their fans, all 3 of released new music this year. While all 3 have taken over the game, their projects seem to signify the different stages and places each are at in their careers.
Let’s start with J Cole. Jermaine, as per usual with his style of releasing projects after the undisputed success of “2014 Forest Hills Drive” released “KOD” rather unannounced, dropping it the day of 4-20 after its lone promo was a listening party in New York. This album marked an innovative spin to Cole’s stellar storytelling; Cole used the popular ‘mumble rap’ style of rapping and blended it with his old school flow perfectly to raise awareness of drug use as a way to ‘kill our demons.’ Let’s start with the song ‘KOD.’ In it, while changing the tone of his voice to a more gloomy sound, he raps, “My homie got pharmaceutical plug, I smoke the drug and it run through my vein. I think it's workin', it's numbin' the pain. Don't give a fuck and I'm somewhat insane, don't give a fuck and I'm somewhat insane.” Here he is taking the sound of what has become popular among today’s youth to warn them about the glorification of drugs, not a foreign concept in Hip Hop that has especially been more rampant recently. Contrast that with the song “FRIENDS,” where he goes on to explain how meditation is a better way to ‘kill your demons’ rather than expose yourself to something more destructive.
Message and storytelling is a running motif in J Cole’s career. He has done it throughout his career and has helped elevate him to one of the brightest stars in music. Not only does he preach a new message to the numerous adoring fans listening, but he adds a new style and twist to his upstanding originality and authenticity. You can tell listening that not only is J Cole not done growing, but strives to help his listeners grow alongside him.
Kendrick Lamar is on a whole other level. You can tell Lamar continues to grow, not just from the assortment of sounds he configures into his music, but the subject matter. From ‘Section.80’ onto Pulitzer-winning ‘DAMN.,’ Kendrick struggles to firmly grasp why the world is how it is & how it affects him. Section.80 asks if it is his generation and/or the generation previous to him, as evidenced by the song ‘Ronald Reagan Era.’ Next he ponders about if his neighborhood is the reason for the world’s m.A.A.d.ness, telling the story of the death of his friend Dave in his major label debut ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city.’ ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ talks about America and the institutional racism of how far it takes for those like him to succeed and not crash after success in America, and ‘DAMN.’ is the latest chapter of Kendrick’s glossary, asking God why he has punished those of his ethnicity and why they as a people can not progress.
All this has culminated to Kendrick being among the greats ever while never compromising his artistic integrity. His songs and albums, like J Cole, reign at the top of any chart anywhere, while keeping his work authentic to his wide-ranging audience. His success within his never-ending authenticity allowed Kendrick to be the curator for the soundtrack to Marvel Studios’ blockbuster ‘Black Panther,’ an album that still has Kendrick Lamar songs, bars, adlibs and cameos with the authenticity to add a little more flare to the story of T’Challa. Both he and Cole’s authenticity to their community through their music have allowed them to blossom into the Hip Hop prodigies they are.
Drake, on the other hand, is a bit of a different story. Not to say that he isn’t authentic nor praised by his community, but his approach has been a little different. He burst onto his stage as Lil Wayne’s running mate & blossomed into the most noteworthy and recognizable hip hop artist today. He, unlike anyone else, makes everyone stop to listen to whatever new single he’s put out, which makes it a little curious as to why he still sticks to typical album promotion rather than drop his albums out of the blue like Kendrick, Cole, Beyonce and others have done. His albums continue to break records, whether it be via sales or online streaming. While his albums continue to be successes in the charts, his albums feel rather static, at least to me. ‘Take Care’ was a breakthrough album, but Drake has not had an album that truly made me feel his music since then. Perhaps so is the case in the mainstream realm (and my preferences of music don’t necessarily coincide with Drake’s music) or the standards Drake has set for himself. Drake has shown a versatility to create hits with various styles of beats banging in the backwagon, from more classic soulful boom-bap sounds to trap beats to R&B type slow tunes. The subject matter, however, has not really changed. Perhaps not everyone is staged to speak for something other than themselves, but Drake’s songs rarely venture out onto newfound waters, outside of diss songs that have a 50% success rate for him, if we’re being lenient. No Drake album has been a failure by any means, but I feel he is lacking an artistic progression that Kendrick and Cole have taken as their careers have moved forward, and maybe that, along with the authenticity of the subject matter, should be valued more.
BONUS: 10 Hip Hop Artists to Stop Sleeping On: There are many artists with great bars and flows and stories that do not get as much shine as others. Because of that, here are 10 artists you should begin listening to more because they have mastered the art of rapping.
1. J.I.D.
2. Joey Bada$$
3. Bas
4. Mick Jenkins
5. XV
6. Bishop Nehru
7. Jay Rock
8. Cozz
9. CJ Fly
10. Saba

Paper Party 2018! Colorful Modern Abstract Art Party Inspiration
As promised, I’m sharing the photos from this year’s Paper Party during the National Stationery Show! As you saw with the invitations and save the dates, our party inspiration was driven by a non-traditional color palette – mustard yellow, pale pink, peach, lavender, navy blue, and forest green – and modern abstract shapes. For those of you looking for some colorful modern abstract art party inspiration, we’ll be sharing all the fun party details with you today! This year’s party featured a TON of balloons, a gorgeous art print wall, a hand painted paper art installation, and a calligraphy bar! It was such a wonderful evening with some of the most lovely people in the stationery industry, and together we raised more than seven thousand dollars to help support women’s empowerment and equal rights!
This was my fifth year organizing a major party for the stationery industry during the National Stationery Show. In the past, we’ve always done a free party, but this year I wanted to do something a bit different and find a way to give back in a small way. So I joined forces with Writes for Women, an advocacy group for the stationery industry that helps raise money for women’s empowerment and equal rights via the Ms. Foundation. We sold tickets to this year’s party and ended up raising more than $7,100 – more than I had ever imagined in my wildest dreams! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came to the party for making this possible!
This year’s party was again held at Hudson Terrace on their rooftop terrace. My talented friend (and professional event planner) Janice from Bellwether Events helped me plan the party, along with Melinda of Lion in the Sun and Caroline of CW Pencils (my party planning partners in crime from Writes for Women). And of course the party would not have been possible without our amazing sponsors, including Paper & Ink Arts, Mixbook, Legion Paper, Bella Figura, Sakura of America, Hester & Cook Design Group, 1canoe2, and the National Stationery Show, and our fantastic creative partners Ramona & Ruth, Sam Teich, Lillian Farag, Farmette Press, and Meant to Be Calligraphy. Let’s get to all the fun details!
Okay, so first – the balloons! I knew that I wanted to incorporate a balloon installation into our party décor this year, and it turned out so fun and colorful! (We used Balloon Saloon for those of you who might need something similar in NYC) We used balloons in shades of pink, peach, deep yellow, teal, and purple – and calligrapher Sam Teich used some of Sakura of America’s Permapaque markers to letter a few fun party phrases on the balloons! It was super easy!
We also made this really fun paper art installation in collaboration with artist Lillian Farag and Legion Paper! I was feeling super inspired by our save the date and invitation design by Ramona & Ruth, so I came up with the idea of creating this installation using sheets of Colorplan and Stonehenge Aqua watercolor paper from Legion Paper. Lillian painted on the Stonehenge sheets in her signature free flowing style, and we layered Lillian’s pieces together with the Colorplan paper in lavender, candy pink, fuchsia pink, citrine, park green, forest green, and imperial blue. Stay tuned for a more detailed DIY post so you can create one of these installations for your own party!
And can we talk about this Mixbook art print wall? So gorgeous! Mixbook works with an amazing roster of artists, including Hello!Lucky, 1canoe2, Black Lamb Studio, Ashley Goldberg, and Amy Tangerine – totally perfect for our colorful evening! The art print wall featured a mix of canvas prints and acrylic block prints, and each print was either super colorful or had a message of women’s empowerment – or both!
Oh! And Mixbook also brought Eunice from Hello!Lucky to sign copies of her brand new book, Be the Change, and do some illustrations on Hello!Lucky for Mixbook stationery. So fun!
I also love having an interactive element at the party – and this year it was a calligraphy bar in collaboration with Paper & Ink Arts! The uber-talented Sam Teich hung out ALL night to do calligraphy demos using a variety of Paper & Ink Arts tools and materials, including this Paint Your Own Oblique Holder, this pointed oblique holder with a Tachikawa G Nib, a Fintec Metallic Palette, Ziller Ink in Wild Viola Violet and Wild Rose Pink, Sumi Ink, and a Size 1 Princeton Series Round Brush.
Farmette Press also sent an assortment of their GORGEOUS handmade papers for Sam to write on! They make the most beautiful paper in an amazing assortment of colors – I want them all!
The CUTEST paper placemats from Hester & Cook! I couldn’t resist these die cut unicorn placemats – that hologram foil on the horn!! – and the black and white swiss dot placemats were perfect for our tall round cocktail tables. Pretty much everything in this Sorbet collection was perfect for the party!
Finally, a HUGE thank you to the wonderful sponsors and people who made the evening possible:
The National Stationery Show, Paper & Ink Arts, Mixbook, Bella Figura, Sakura of America, Hester & Cook Design Group, Legion Paper, and 1canoe2!
Sam Teich, Farmette Press, Lillian Farag, CW Pencils, Ramona & Ruth, Meant to Be Calligraphy
Infinite thanks to Janice, Melinda, Kelly, and Caroline, for their invaluable help over the past few months and throughout the evening – and our small army of friends who helped with set up before the party. We couldn’t have done it without you!
And of course a big thanks to CJ of Charlie-Juliet Photography for the gorgeous photos and Hudson Terrace for having us!

That’s what this post’s about.
An unvarnished look at ClickBank, warts and all.
Let’s get to it.
Free Bonus: How to Go From $0 to $1,000 in Passive Income With Affiliate Marketing
Live in an eligible country
Enable cookies in your browser
Have a Tax ID or Social Security number (if you live in the U.S.)
If you plan to register as a vendor, you must pay a one-time activation fee of $49.95. You pay only $29.95 for any additional accounts.
What Affiliate Programs are Available with ClickBank?
Whether you are a tentative newbie who wants to dip a toe into this make-money-online thing or a veteran who wants to grow her earnings, ClickBank has got you covered.
There are many affiliate programs and product categories to choose from:
Arts & Entertainment
As Seen on TV

Not sure where to start? No worries.
Dan Brock, of Deadbeat Super Affiliate, reveals seven hot niches you can try in this video.
Is ClickBank an elaborate racket or a genuine business?
What I love about this is that they don’t just provide a bare shopping list of resources like many sites do.
Most ClickBank affiliate marketing strategies focus on email marketing (sending emails to your list), social media promotion (tweeting or sharing your affiliate links), or SEO (creating top-notch content around your affiliate product and getting it to rank on Google).
But there’s another area most e-commerce gurus ignore: video. Specifically, YouTube.
Smart marketers take advantage of the powers of YouTube, the second largest search engine, to set up a high-converting ClickBank funnel.
Here’s how:
Find the right product to promote
Search for popular content related to the product on YouTube
Dissect the content to see why it’s popular
Produce similar content in your own YouTube channel
Link to the product in your video. Watch the money come in like clockwork.

ClickBank Review Verdict: Boo or Bravo?
Let me ask again.
Can you make money on ClickBank?
Absolutely.
Just be sure to do your homework.
If you thoroughly vet the programs, you’ll cash in.
Many folks like you make $50-$100 a day on ClickBank. That’s a yummy $1500+ passive monthly income made while you catch some Z’s.
You can do it too. Hop over to ClickBank and get started now.
