🕰️🩷🧋and 🥘 for starstuck Dee please and thank you.

🕰️ (Clock) - What would a Dreamy Gear version of them look like? What sort of accessories would they have? What kind of role do they play?
Tumblr media
well i couldn't resist drawing it once i'd thought about it, so here she is! still pretty recognisable, but i think that large elements of her story and the suspicions surrounding her would be different, due to the fact that waddle dee/bandee is usually the one and only waddle dee. i think she'd still be found in a meteor crater at the edge of town by meta knight, but i think this time he'd bring her to bandee instead of president dedede, mostly due to the clear visual similarities. bandee would take her in instantly, and she'd follow him around the mechanic shop, learning to tinker and serving as his glorified assistant. learns to make really good apple tea instead of being a friendly chatterbox she would be shy and selectively mute, speaking out loud exclusively to bandee. though she still forms relationships with kirby and meta knight, i think that sadly in this world president dedede would frighten her, despite how highly bandee thinks of him 😭 at meta knight's suggestion, after he finds her squinting skyward on the roof at night a few too many times, she makes herself a pocket telescope for looking at stars and surveying the weather. she uses it to give bandee reports, which he discretely passes on to kirby and dedede for their races.
🩷 (Pink Heart) - If they were a Dream Friend, what would their moveset be like? How much HP do they have? Would they be a strong attacker, or would they take on more of a support role?
she would be a support role for sure, but i also can't resist also giving her some specialised abilities... > hp: small health bar, but practically immune to damage. will still die in insta-kill scenarios like lava or crush blocks > basic attack: if bandana waddle dee, meta knight, or king dedede are on the team she'll get a simple swing attack with a toy/training version of their weapon. if at least two are on the team, it's upgraded to an attack with a three-swing combo, and she'll alternate at random between which weapon she pulls > basic support: drawing magic from the environment around her or other allies or enemies present, she can give a wide variety of power effects. i previously said she'd give blustery and i stand by it, because even if there are no other elements around there's always air, but i think she could give the others too. she cannot attack with any of these herself > healing: under CPU control she'll focus on running ahead to pick up heal items, and bring them back. if everybody has full health, she'll actually store the item and bring it out later whenever anyone gets below half health; tdlx bandee style > meteor shower: this is a charge attack that starts with a 3 minute cooldown. after charging, she can use it by jumping in the air and pressing a multi-button combo, to avoid accidental activation. this is a full screen, crash-like attack with a shooting star visual, similar to team meteor. all on screen enemies defeated, and most bosses down to at least 1/3 health. > downed: unfortunately after using the charged attack she will drop her inventory, pass out, and need to be piggy backed for about 5 minutes if you want to keep her on the team (walking over to her will activate a 'piggy back' bar instead of the standard 'revive'). she cannot heal or give buffs during this time, but can be dropped by accident or when attacked, and can take damage that cannot be healed. if she makes it she wakes up at partial health, but returns to being invulnerable while conscious
🧋 and 🥘 both answered here!

Nintendo Dream May 2023
Return to Dream Land DX Interview w/ the Staff
[Note: This was 8 pages long. I bought it the moment I could and wrote down/quickly summarized everything I could find that was of interest while reading through it. I didn’t even edit it or spellcheck it ^^ It’s not a full translation, there could be some bits I misinterpreted, and there’s some technical stuff about the development and staff that I left untouched, but this should be all the good stuff!]
---
They spent a long time debating whether the game (in Japanese) should still be called "Kirby Wii" but decided that since it WAS "Kirby Wii" it should keep the name.
They originally thought of giving RtDL a title like the novel version had.
Giving the characters the outlines took a hefty amount of processing power.
Even among the staff, RtDL is considered the origin point of modern Kirby.
Kumazaki's keyword to the staff was "nostalgia filter" - to not just remake the game as is, but to add enough features that it was even better than how people remembered the original.
They didn't force themselves to release all three games (Forgotten Land, Dream Buffet, DX) for the 30th anniversary, but they considered being able to do so ideal. As such, they began working on it while FL was still in development.
As to the borders, they knew it was difficult to introduce a new visual element to a series midway through, but they regretted how easy it was to loose sight of the characters in Star Allies, which is why they added them in. That and the fact that it make the characters look more like they were artwork, as well as fitting in with RtDL's naturally more fantastic and cartoony look, which also helped visually distinguish it from SA that used a lot of similar looking locales to RtDL
As for Dedede's redesign, they mention that he's partly redesigned to best represent what he's used for in each game. In TDX, he was an enemy and an ally, so he was meant to look cool. In Star Allies, he was friendly and a bit goofy. In FL, he was designed to fit with the look of the Beast Pack. DX's Dedede is meant to kind of mix FL and Star Allies, partly because FL Dedede became so popular and had such recognition. (They also note that, regrettably, RtDL's original Dedede had to have his body made smaller because of bounding box issues.) They weren't able to make him the "large and in charge" powerful type they wanted before now.
All the voices were rerecorded for this game, including the masks.
In regards to the opening animation, they talk about how there was no specific situation in mind, but note that Waddle Dee looks like he was sent flying. The reason is because Waddle Dees were still considered generic enemies at that point, and so it made sense that something had sent this random Waddle Dee flying off, which is why it happened. (They also note that because of the timing, it looks like Meta Knight was the one responsible, but it's just a random enemy thing.)
"Helper Magolor" started out from the idea that Watanabe and Tanifuji both had young kids and they wanted a game that their children could play, without sacrificing the depth that veteran gamers enjoy. Kirby is made as an entry game for gamers of all levels, and they feel they opened it up to even more players with this. Really young kids, and people who aren't good at action games but want to enjoy the story. (They were a little surprised at how much the little kids struggled with FL's 3D action elements. While it's natural for us to use inhale and then swallow for a copy ability, little kids and gaming newcomers would forget about that, thus, the auto-copy feature.)
It made sense to make Magolor the helper because he was the key character in the story, and that it would seem he was giving you assistance for you helping him fix his ship.
They debated between some 60 different ideas for new copy abilities before settling on the two that they did. The deciding factor was abilities that seemed like they would belong in Kirby but also be fresh and new.
"Festival" is back not just because it's an anniversary game, but because it fit the feeling of a 4-player adventure. (And also, with Helper Magolor on, it gives a way to increase Magolor's presence in the game.)
They mention that Kumazaki rewrote all the ability descriptions and added all the pause screen lore. That they did like the figure-based methods of lore in FL but wanted to stick with the classic style for RtDL DX. (Also, Watanabe mentions that Kumazaki is a very fast writer. What Watanabe would've taken a day, Kumazaki finished in only an hour. Maybe even faster than than that, Watanabe adds!)
Originally, they only planned for about 40 dress-up masks. Then Kumazaki decided to ask for 86, mostly to please the fans. They choose things that would be easiest, such as characters who already had a 3D model, characters that would make fans the happiest to see, or characters who were simple to make. They chose masks instead of just making them playable because they didn't want to disrupt the setting of RtDL. (And also, because souvenirs like that are a staple of theme parks.)
One question is "Why did Magolor build Magoland in Dream Land?" (For those wondering if it was really in Dream Land or not. Kumazaki answers that you  have to understand Magolor's character. He's someone that loves making things and also loves surprising people. When the idea of turning the sub-games to attractions came up, and which Kirby universe character would be responsible, it just had to be Magolor who made them. Magolor has become a character that's really easy to involve in the series. "If something is making something particularly entertaining in the Kirby series, it's Magolor's turn," says Kumazaki. "Magolor has both magic and technological abilities, which he uses to make things with."
As for the "when" and "where" of Magoland, Kumazaki notes you can kind of get the real picture if you play the game till the very end, but if you're not too concerned with the details, it's okay to just think "So, he made an amusement park at some point!" That said, he implies it supposed to be a bit of a mystery/a bit up in the air. Did he want to make something Kirby and the others would enjoy after all his experiences with them? It's up to the player's interpretation.
The possibility of putting Magolor on the original box art existed, but since he was "just a one game character in a series of games" they left him off to focus on the four person appeal of the original game. But Magolor appeared in more and more things and became popular enough that he finally earned his place on the box art.
Kumazaki mentions that every character starts out as an unknown. Even mega popular characters like Meta Knight were once just a lone boss in a "new" game. His becoming a major player thanks to "Revenge of Meta Knight" and being a character who fulfills an important role helped him to become more recognizable. Magolor has stopped being one of these "newcomer" characters and evolved into his own fully-fledged character with this game.
Kumazaki confirms that in general there's not a straight, forward-flowing timeline in Kirby as much as there is a series of loose connections. And that in-between events, the characters are generally imagined to be living peaceful, ordinary lives - just like in the opening movie. "There, Kirby has a cake and is being chased by Dedede. There were all sorts of fights before then. And maybe King Dedede was causing trouble again and Kirby had to stop him and that led to them running off with the cake...The details are left up to the imagination."
The interviewer mentions that competing over cake makes it seem like it's continuing off of Squeak Squad. Kumazaki notes that though Kirby and Dedede fight with each other, generally speaking, they get along well. As far as the relationships with the characters and how they interact, Kumazaki says, "there are times where, if the Halberd becomes necessary for a game, it's more natural to just make it the Halberd than to have a brand new unknown battleship appear out of nowhere."
"We don't have a story/timeline" he quotes himself, while noting that the truths that have spread among the players as well as the relationships between the characters and their quirks have to be preserved to a certain degree or it's like you're meeting a new cast each time. So they DO keep certain truths and relationships in mind as they make the series. Sometimes this means putting the role of the "bad guy" on King Dedede, but that doesn't change the fact that he and Kirby are "rivals." (But that he will occasionally be unfair too...) That's a fairly recent, "unchanging fact" of the Kirby world. They mention that even Bandanna Waddle Dee goes from being Dedede's vassal to a friend of the group. though recently he's been recognized more and more as "one of the group."
Meta Knight is the same as Dedede. He's someone who will fight Kirby if circumstances call for it. Like how here, in the opening, he's calmly reading a book in between his sword-training, but he pauses to see if Dedede is causing trouble, or if something threatens the peace of Dream Land.
Kumazaki says, noting the inclusion of Magolor's theme park in this game technically makes RtDL DX an alternate universe to the original RtDL. But the information you learn after 100%ing the game challenges the idea of a single flow of time. With the existence of "Another Dimension" that can cross over both space and time, players are free to see that the passage of time does not lead to one single result. That should also help explain why Kirby and the others are able to warp between Magoland, which exists in its own faraway universe, to the main game.
He adds that this is mostly for people who are concerned about the fact that main mode Magolor is depressed about his ship but Magoland Magolor is happily running his theme park.
There's also a note at the end that Landia was named "Landia" instead of something like "Dark Dragon" to make it seem more natural that they could become an ally. They were also designed to look like they could be friendly. (There's also a comment - not from the dev staff - in the "Games Magolor has been in" page that "Magolor uses the same sword as Kirby! Proof that they're friends?!)
Finally....
THE INTERVIEW WILL CONTINUE NEXT MONTH! (Where they'll discuss more about Merry Magoland and the Magolor Epilogue!! Also, Kumazaki will be looking back over the 30 years of Kirby!)

Kracko's opinions on all the Dream Friends
Note: This is all purely my headcanons.
Kracko famously hates Kirby and wants him dead. What does he think about all of the dream friends? Does he hate them all, too?
Here are his opinions on them:
Bandana Waddle Dee: Bandee being one of Kirby's best friends is enough for Kracko to hate him a lot. Yes, Kracko is legitimately petty enough to hate people for simply being really close to Kirby. It also doesn't help that Bandee joined Kirby in beating Kracko up before, and has even talked madly at him for being so mean to the pink puff.
King Dedede: Kracko and Dedede used to be friends. Used to. They were friends back when Dedede wasn't friends with Kirby yet. But once he became friends with Kirby, he and Kracko stopped being friends. Kracko felt betrayed by Dedede at that point. Nowadays, there's nothing but anger and resentment all around in this dynamic. One time, Dedede criticized Kracko for being so stubborn and hateful about Kirby. That boosted Kracko's bitterness towards Dedede more.
Meta Knight: Before Meta Knight was friends with Kirby, Kracko didn't mind him. But once he did become friends with Kirby, the cloud's opinion of him worsened. It worsened even more when Meta Knight challenged Kracko to a fight multiple times and handily kicked his ass every time. Kracko is pissed off about Meta Knight. He also gets annoyed when Meta and his crew take the Halberd on a flight.
Rick & Kine & Coo: Kracko's thoughts on these guys can be summed up by "go fuck yourselves". He's mad at them for assisting Kirby in beating him up during the events of Dream Land 2. It doesn't end there, as they've also become judgmental to him for being so spiteful and mean-spirited to Kirby. These guys heavily get on Kracko's nerves. And by the way, he also has very similar opinions for Nago, ChuChu and Pitch.
Marx: Let me tell you that Kracko DESPISES Marx. To be honest, this might actually be his second most hated person after Kirby. The reason why is because Marx constantly makes fun of Kracko's hatred for Kirby. He also pulls aggravating pranks on him. Kracko has snapped and ruthlessly struck Marx with lightning more than once. But because Marx literally survived impacting onto Nova, he never dies to Kracko's lightning. And it doesn't stop Marx from trolling him.
Gooey: Kracko doesn't like Gooey for being a close buddy of Kirby's, but this is someone he really can't get himself to have an actual hatred for. Partly because Gooey never agitates him in any way. Unlike most of Kirby's other friends who fight Kracko, criticize him or make fun of him, Gooey doesn't do any of that. Kracko ignores him, really.
Adeleine: Very mixed feelings here. On one hand, Kracko likes that Adeleine is a Cloudy Park resident as that's his favorite place on Popstar, and he appreciates the fact that she seemingly admires him enough to have a painting of him that she can summon into sentience on a whim. But he HATES that she's buddies with Kirby. That causes him to resent her. However, the fact that she seems to like him makes him come to his senses a little bit, and so he doesn't attack her.
Ribbon: Kracko does not like Ribbon at all. This is because Ribbon really looks up to Kirby and has yelled at Kracko for being so mean to him. She even became bold enough to try to challenge Kracko to a fight to "make him back off from Kirby", although other people quickly stopped this. Still, Kracko thinks she's a little pain in the ass.
Dark Meta Knight: As Kracko can exist in any dimension and was present for the events of Amazing Mirror, he was temporarily allies with DMK during that. But that ended afterwards. Then at one point, because DMK is an aggressive son of a gun that loves to fight, he once picked a fight with Kracko and it got worse from there. Kracko resents DMK for that, although these two seldom interact overall.
Daroach: Kracko has a lot of hatred for Daroach and his entire squad of squeaks because of Mecha-Kracko, which he hates Doc the most out of them for being the one to create that, and he just hates the rest of the squeaks out of association. Unlike Adeleine who has a sentient painting for Kracko because she actually thinks he's cool, the squeaks made Mecha-Kracko seemingly just because they can. It pisses Kracko off as he thinks they were trying to replace him with it.
Magolor: Kracko hates Magolor nearly as much as Marx. This is because, much like Marx, Magolor also makes fun of Kracko's hatred for Kirby and pulls pranks on him for it. Kracko has angrily struck Magolor with lightning more than once, but it has never killed him. It also drove Kracko insane when Magolor rammed him with the Lor Starcutter one time. What a totally insufferable person, Kracko thinks.
Taranza: They were allies during Triple Deluxe when Taranza got Kracko to fight Kirby. However, post-TDX when Taranza moved over to Kirby's side, Kracko felt betrayed. He grew to loathe Taranza as a result. One time, he got pissed off about the spider wizard enough to even try to attack Royal Road's castle (Taranza's home) out of spite, but then Taranza threatened to get Kirby to beat him up. Damn it!
Susie: Kracko hates Susie a lot for both her bad and good deeds. He hates her for the HWC invasion on Popstar, but he hates her even more for then turning around and becoming friends with Kirby afterwards. That's the worst of both worlds for Kracko. He was once pissed off about her enough to the point he tried to attack the HWC's main headquarters out of spite, but failed miserably as the HWC's army easily beat him and fended him off. Susie scoffed at him for it.
The Three Mage Sisters: By the time of Star Allies, Kracko's hatred for Kirby was so great that he allied with the cult as he attacked the dream friends in Gabbel Moon. Then post-HiAD when the mage sisters befriended Kirby, he felt betrayed. He hates them. He's especially petty at Zan Partizanne as he wants to "best" her in electrical strength and to beat her up for Kirby's friend. This is a one-sided feud, as Zan is annoyed by Kracko rather than hating him back.
Wow. What a big hater this cloud is. I think he should seek help LOL.

Attempting to join something for once! @kirbyoctournament
Doozy Doo!
He’s the waddle doo follower from Kirby Super Star! (And Star Allies)
Personality:
Tumblr media
He’s a really gentle mannered little guy, if a little jumpy with a habit of tripping over himself and his words, most others will even say he’s clumsy! He does magic tricks at Dedede’s castle and hosts events that the king holds there before coming home to his fiance who he is very in love with
Backstory:
Tumblr media
After a curse had swept over Dreamland, which caused a percentage of the Waddle Dee population to transform into a new species, the Waddle Doos, the Doos had settled into society nicely after the Dark Matter had been initially defeated
Doozy had a group of friends consisting of Burning Lola, Sir Kabir, Marx the noddy, and himself, both Marx and Doozy being jesters hoping to work at the castle one day
The group had become really close until Marx started to act a little off, but that wasn’t concerning, Marx was always a little off! Right? Well, the sun and moon had started fighting so that was more important. After Marx somehow knew and had spilled how to make them stop, Doozy set off with Kirby to summon the comet Nova
Only after that did they find out Marx had been behind it all and they had to put him down.
This had really shaken Doozy and he group and they were horrified to find that Marx Soul would eventually come back in a horribly fused mechanical undead body for revenge. They had to fight him a second time with risen stakes and unfortunately Sir Kabir did not make it to the end of the battle.
The sun and moon had then banished Marx Soul from returning to popstar (until Star Allies) and Doozy had since worked in the castle as a solo magical act, ready to assist Kirby on whatever new adventure awaits

Kirbtober Day 26 - Moon
Prompts by @/paintpanic
Tumblr media
Trivia: Knitter Waddle Dee tends to have quick shifts of humor, but that doesn't make her less loveable.
The two of them were doing their usual patrol in the snowy forest, to offer assistance in case some traveler got lost, they knew the forest like the palm of their hands and they always were willing to help.
Nezberg was feeling particularly anxious during this scroll, it was almost time for his companion: Knitter Waddle Dee, to spend the rest of the winter in Dreamland, her nature as a Waddle Dee makes her prefer warmer weather, so she can only ensure the cold for some time before it gets even colder.
He can get that, but also during her time gone, he feels completely alone, it's hard to find another companion in that place, also, someone has to take care of the cabin and guide the lost travelers.
There's not many options to say at least.

LATE BUT!!!! WADDLE WEDNESDAY LETS GOOOO ft bandee because i love him sososoososososo much
guess HWAT I have so many headcanons for this kiddo:
he/they bandee all the wayyy
bandee is really good friends with whispy woods, they’ll hang out with whispy at least once a week to just chill and talk, and whispy gives bandee a bucket full of apples in return
he has small hair floof!!! waddle dees are fluffy creatures and poor kid has a terrible cowlick that they have to take care of (or just slap a bandana on)
one day. they will lose it. one day bandee will snap and decide it's time to stop being nice. that day draws closer every day.
him and sailor dee are siblings!! they have a rivalry over who has the cooler job, is the better assistant, etc
abble juicew
out of him, kirby, and dedede, bandee is the one who speaks spanish most fluently (kirby actually understands it pretty well but won't shut up about chicken, and dedede can't pronounce for shit). he picked some of it up from meta knight during RTDL and mk agreed to keep teaching him
bandee and meta knight are really close and every friday, meta knight takes them out to kawaski's and trains him with his spear; bandee thinks mk is the coolest fucking person ever
bandee loves art and drawing but only does anime-style
they used to be on deviantart with adeleine in 2014
bandee's got so many nicknames (mainly from kirby): bandana, b-dee, ban-ban, dana, andy, benny, bandan, BW dee, b-man, etc. he responds to anything that vaguely resembles his name (most of the time he gets it right)
dedede taught him how to play chess, and he is getting better. very slowly, but better nonetheless. soon, bandee will be able to defeat dedede. one day.....
i want to give bandee a big smooch on the forehead and squeeze him like a stressball

Hi!
Welcome to the askblog! This is where you can ask questions directly to Prisma and her friends. My main is @startistdoodles (where likes/follows come from). I have posts regarding all my headcanons tagged there under #kirby worldbuilding.
A few notes upfront:
Depending on the amount of asks I receive, I may not be able to respond to every one of them. Please understand.
On a similar note, please refrain from repeatedly asking the same/similar question multiple times.
Please keep asks PG-13 at most.
The characters are not omnipotent, so lore-related questions about the world or things they may not know will be moved over to @startistdoodles .
My AU follows both anime and game lore, so characters from either can be asked about. Generally anyone who is not dead is free to talk.
Side modes such as Knightmare and Dededetour are not canon to my AU. However, Soul Bosses and Magolor Epilogue are canon.
That's about it! I'll update this post with anything else if needed.
Tumblr media
Under the cut is information on some of the characters of interest.
Prisma Knight
Prisma Knight (she/her) is a Star Warrior turned queen after she got into an accident involving Dark Matter that resulted in her losing her wings. Ashamed, she fled her troop and went into hiding on Planet Permafrost. There she was crowned queen after saving the inhabitants from a terrifying threat.
Many years later, she reunited with her old friend Meta Knight and was brought to Popstar, where she currently lives with her servants and new friends.
Kirby
Kirby (he/him or they/them) is a young Star Warrior that arrived on Planet Popstar a couple years ago. Ever since then, his incredible power has been put to the test as he stands up against terrifying threats. But he is never fazed and goes right back to naptime after every battle.
Kirby is still a child (about 3-5 in human years) and his speech isn't the best. He resorts to communicating with drawings or gestures alongside his babbling. His friends can often help suggest what he might be trying to say.
Meta Knight
Meta Knight (he/him) is a mostly retired Star Warrior who resides on Planet Popstar and serves as a watchful knight who aims to protect the planet alongside his crew, the Meta-Knights, aboard his Battleship Halberd. He serves as a mentor to Kirby, as well as a sort of parental figure (despite him disagreeing with the latter).
Many years ago, he and Prisma Knight along with Sir Falspar, Sir Nonsurat and Sir Dragato were in the same troop in the GSA (Galaxy Soldier Army). He presumed Prisma dead when she went missing, but was reunited with her many years later.
King Dedede
King Dedede (he/him) is the self-proclaimed king of Dreamland. Once a greedy and stubborn king, he has since chilled out quite a bit and now acts as a proud ruler (now with 10% less stubbornness!) that many respect. While he can still be loud and hotheaded at times, he cares deeply for his friends and especially his Waddle Dee family.
He and Kirby are friendly rivals, and he will defend his little buddy with everything he's got.
Bandana Waddle Dee
Bandana Waddle Dee (he/him - Bandee for short) is the king's right-hand Waddle Dee. A soldier in training, he assists in the defense of Castle Dedede and even hangs out in town looking for ways he can help others.
He is also one of Kirby's best friends, and the two are almost always seen hanging out together.
Dark Matter Blade
Dark Matter Blade (he/him or it/its - usually shortened to 'Dark Matter', 'Dark Blade' or simply 'Dark') is the former right-hand of Lord Zero, the incarnation of pure dark energy. While once highly respected among his kind, after failing his first big mission of killing a Star Warrior and then again failing to defeat Kirby in his invasion of Popstar many years later, he was forced to flee the Dark Matter tribe under threat of being killed by his master. So, he returned to Popstar where he was reunited with Gooey.
Nowadays he spends his time with his new friends, though is still distrusted by some. He wishes to lead a life of peace and comfort and as such shys away from conflict and confrontation. His relationship with Prisma is very tense — they don’t speak much.
Mochi
Mochi (he/him or they/them) is a new baby that recently landed on Popstar. There is something strange and somewhat dark about him...but he seems sweet enough so Prisma is raising him.
Sidia Knight
Sidia Knight (he/him) is Prisma Knight's old mentor and father figure. After going MIA during the great war that demolished the GSA, he was stranded on Galacta Star for nearly a century. Eventually, he reunites with Quiver Knight and they settle down and live happily together as a married couple.

[CLAPS HANDS TOGETHER]
SIMPLIFIED CONCEPTS FOR THE WESTERN AU LETS GO:
Basic world building: Pop Star is a desert planet- it’s all desert. Towns, ranches, farms, sometimes cramped overpopulated mixtures of the three are based around oasises. Outside of an oasis it is absolutely hell. Sandstorms are brutal and life is few and far between. Dreamland is a popular town run by the corrupt Mayor Dedede and his teenager assistant Bandana Waddle Dee. There is no town sheriff.
Dreamland is a strange town, crops grow faster, animals and people grow stronger, and sleep is actually restful. This is because the oasis is the Fountain of Dreams. Speaking of that, let’s get into the Ancients:
Every planet in the galaxy is a desert planet, due to the Ancients. Every planet they’ve touched or interacted left has become a desert planet. But aside from mass destruction they leave pieces of artifacts that are magic.
And magic? It’s extremely taboo in this world. Magic is not thought about or considered. Space and aliens get roped into that too. Kirby is magic, as well as Meta Knight. Kirby does not know this, Meta Knight is all too aware of it and how people will treat him if they find out.
Kirby was found in an extremely brutal sandstorm outside of Chilly’s ranch, and from then on Chilly and Dreamland raised the child. Most people know something’s off about Kirby due to their slow aging, strength, and resilience, but they keep shut about it because they care about Kirby.
This is getting alot so even further shortened concepts:
The sandstorm Kirby arrived in was the sandstorm that panicked Dedede so much he stole all of the food in town in hopes of barricading for weeks to wait out the storm. This sparks Bandana’s doubt in him, despite their loyalty. He gets better eventually.
Bandana Dee gets inspired by Kirby and wants to be the sheriff. They get denied so Bandana does masked vigilante shit under Dedede’s nose, as they’re too loyal to deny him, but too good-hearted to stand by. That persona becomes an outlaw and close with Kirby.
Meta Knight is an outlaw legend. He covers his features giving away his origins and his wings are a VERRRY big no. He becomes a mentor to Kirby. He used to be the town sheriff before getting banished and labeled an outlaw
Daroach leads the bandit group the Squeaks, who also double as bounty hunters. They are not outlaws
Magolor is an alien. He hides his revealing traits and practices magic. He is obsessed with the Ancients and is from another Ancient-touched planet. The Lor is a sentient spell book who can switch forms, most commonly a horse that Magolor can ride since he can’t walk in sand with his prosthetics and has to hide his hovering. He accidentally gets sent to Popstar after experimenting with dimensional rifts, and is found and hidden by Marx under the promise of giving Marx information about magic and the Ancients
This is going to be the only AU I’m going to give an actual name. Do I know the name yet? Nope. I’m stuck between “Child of the Sand/Storm/Wastes” and “Arcane Wastes”

I keep reblogging the OC ask games without really posting any new drawings of my OCs lmao so here’s a post of all my OCs I’ve drawn so far and a brief summary of each for any future ask games. I have more OCs than just these guys but these are the only ones I’ve actually drawn so far:
Tumblr media
Cintia (Cindee) and Clover Haltmann: Cindee is Meta Knight and Dedede’s daughter and Clover is Taranza and Susie’s daughter. Clover was cloned by some aliens as a wedding gift for Taranza and Susie and Meta Knight and Dedede went to those same aliens and asked them to clone Cindee for them.
Tumblr media
Tache Waddle Doo and Archmage Waddle Doo (Archie): Adeleine’s fathers. They found her all alone on another planet when she was a baby and decided to adopt her. Tache is an artist and Archie is a mage who works for Kracko.
Tumblr media
Gemma Burrata (Gem): Daroach’s ex-girlfriend. Her father was a mob boss who Daroach and the other Squeaks used to work for when they were younger. Gem took over the mob and became the new boss after her father died. She and Daroach dated in secret since her father wouldn’t have approved, but they eventually broke up and haven’t seen each other since the breakup.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ensign Waddle Dee and Lady in Waiting Waddle Dee: Bandana Dee and Sailor Dee’s mothers. Ensign is an officer in the Dream Land Navy and is one of the first people Meta Knight meets when he arrives on Popstar. Lady is Dedede’s childhood best friend and serves as his assistant until Bandee is old enough to take over that job.
Tumblr media
Beatrix Kendler (Trixie): Susie’s mother. After Susie disappeared she and Susie’s father got divorced, and when Susie reunited with her dad she was under the impression that her mother had died while she was stuck in Another Dimension. I have plans for Trixie and Susie to eventually reunite but won’t say too much about that right now since it’ll give away some of what I have planned for my AU.
Tumblr media
Lady Theraphoza (Thera): Taranza’s mother. She’s a healer (magic equivalent of a doctor) and used to work for Sectonia’s mother when she was the queen. Now that Taranza is king of Floralia, she serves as an advisor on his royal council alongside the People of the Sky.

Pete shall make sure to deliver several tons of strawberries then! And maybe one of apples. And also other berries. Can't go wrong with more food.

The Waddle Dees will be ready to cook those fruits into lots of dishes.
That's how you make fruits extra yummy!

Lemme know if I'm asking too many questions, but now I'm curious, you mentioned Starstruck's friends liking her unique traits in the answer-train, and now I really wanna know: who's into her massive error-code magical signature? Is it...
Is it Kirby?
i love to answer questions (especially about starstruck at the moment bc i've been really into working on her lore lately) so there's never too many!! sometimes i get very hopeful that i'll draw art and it causes some delays, but i do always always love to get them!!
this bit of info:
what she currently wishes she could lose is her weird magical signature, and perhaps even her non-standard appearance; though i think her friends have probably grown to like one or both of these, and might miss them if they were gone. (this would mean a lot to her to hear).
was actually not any kind of hint at anything more significant (unlike a lot of my answers), it's just the folks around her being good friends and just good people in general!
like... the way she looks (different) the way she acts (different) and the way her magical signature feels (different) are all things that make her her. she is scared of them, because they're different. but her friends like her the way she is, so they like those traits too; if she did successfully change them they'd genuinely miss the traits of her that they've come to love*.
bandee is the one who has the biggest uncontrollable reaction to her magical signature, due to being a waddle dee (meta knight, dedede and kirby notice it but aren't as violently squicked by it) but he pushes past it and over time he starts to notice/be bothered by it much less. she does also pick up signature mimicry fairly quickly, so she can 'fake' a different signature if it really was bothering him, though this is sometimes as jarring as her original one if she picks a strong one.
but... you are right, kirby loves that she can do that!
he finds it a little similar to himself; kirby's magic is understandably more flexible than most, though not in the way starstruck's is. he's incredibly magically sensitive so he can hear her magic voice easily, and for him when she tries on different ones it's like doing an impersonation-- he finds it really entertaining and rather enjoys it! often she'll try out new ones on him to see what he thinks.
i don't bring him up enough in her lore, but magolor also actively likes her weird signature; for different reasons.
he finds it fascinating, but without the overbearing aura of 'is that a threat' that meta knight always exudes. he's assisting with trying to puzzle it out with them, but he was one of the first to make her feel like it was a cool and unique ability that she just happened to have, and something that someone could enjoy rather than be scared of.
*want to put a footnote here that this is framed in a positive light. this is not something about her she wants to change for herself (ie; dysphoria) and a change her friends should accept/support rather than 'missing the old her'. her 'weird traits' are something she only feels pressured to change by societal rules and expectations. her friends would support her of course but most importantly: she shouldn't feel she HAS to change just for being a little different. and they love her and think she's perfect as she is.

Adeleine and Ribbon(Waking up in Dreamland AU)
Here's Adeleine & Ribbon, managed to get both on a ref sheet together
Tumblr media
I'm not saying Ado & Adeleine are the same but I'm also saying I made her mom a ref/nod to Ado. At one point I was imagening her mom was Ado but I dunno if the timing would work out, then again I already imagine Kirby & other puffballs have really long lives. My excuse was people living in Dreamland/Popstar have longer lives which is why Kirby would have met both Ado as a kid & Adeleine years later when Ado was an adult with a daughter. I might not go for this past Adeleine's mom having a name & apperance that refs Ado but who knows.
I wasn't thinking when I drew Kirby with Adeleine, Ribbon & Queen Ripple because Kirby is shorter than he should be. On the other hand Kirby in his human form is correct(he's an adult), I don't know how old Adeleine is & the art style doesn't help. For some reason in the past I guessed she was 11, I dunno what to guess right now.
Adeleine: Adeleine is a painter that has the ability to make her paintings come to life & items made through art real, she got this ability from her mother Adorēnu or Ado for short. Adeleine is a friendly girl that enjoys being with her friends & working on art, she's always happy to think up new ideas for drawings but coming back to stuff is just as good to sharpen her abilities better. Adeleine came to Popstar to get inspiration & because of advice from her mom who had been on the planet at some point & knew her daughter would enjoy it too. Adeleine has made many friends since coming there(even if she did get possessed) & happily tells her mom of her adventures when she goes home. Though she is still a kid Ado trusts that she'll be safe at least with all the Waddle Dee/Doo there to help out.
Ribbon: Ribbon is a fairy from Ripple Star, she met Kirby, Adeleine & her other friends from Popstar thanks to being told to get an important crystal away from her home planet when Dark Matter attacked. Though she seems carefree she is both courageous when it comes to taking action & a little sensitive when she gets worried about her home & friends. She works closely with the queen & is her brave assistant, when not doing her job she's playing with Kirby & Adeleine, often being her assistant to get things to help with her art.

This is a follow-up post for yesterday's post regarding the Taranza, Sectonia, Dark Meta Knight and Dark Mind situation.
All the other star allies have varying reactions to the severe beef that Taranza and Dark Meta Knight have with each other.
Some of them try to stop the fights, but there are others that don't.
Here's a chart that sums up how everyone handles it in my hcs:
Tumblr media
Marx is an agent of chaos, as he's always hyped to see fights break out. He thinks the Taranza vs. DMK feud is hysterical. He likes to encourage their fights, and will sometimes join to make it three-way fights for no real reason other than because he thinks it's funny. When he joins the fights, Kirby has to slap him on the face. I would say on the wrists, but Marx doesn't have wrists, so on the face it is.
Susie and Magolor wholly cheer on Taranza during his strife with DMK. He's their buddy! He has their full support. They record the fights on their phones, and it helps Taranza's self-esteem (which is usually low) when they let him know they record the fights. They also hurl insults at DMK while cheering on Taranza to mercilessly kick his butt. Kirby sometimes has to slap them on the wrists for 'making it worse'.
Meta Knight would usually help break up star ally fights, but not fights between these two. He's always been rather insecure about DMK's existence. He cringes at the fact that he's his counterpart, and is petty enough to straight up enjoy watching Taranza beat him up.
The mage sisters, like Marx, are also agents of chaos, although they don't join the fights like he does. Instead they just laugh their butts off while watching the fights occur. Zan Partizanne is also supportive of Taranza, albeit not quite at the levels that Susie and Magolor do it.
Kirby does not condone the fights in the slightest, and is always quick to try to break them up. He's always upset about his friends fighting, but this feud is especially dire as he's had to admonish Taranza for making literal kill attempts on DMK. He understands why they don't get along, but he'd still like to see the good in DMK, and tries everything that he can to keep these two separated from each other.
Daroach, Adeleine and Ribbon also don't condone the fights at all. All three of them are DMK's friends, and while they understand why Taranza has distaste for the guy, they also absolutely don't want him severely harming DMK. They still try to see the good in DMK. Daroach especially cares enough about DMK to the point he's gotten into heated arguments with Taranza for constantly trying to hurt him.
King Dedede and Bandana Waddle Dee fully assist Kirby in helping stop the fights, although it may be a little bit reluctant in Bandee's case. Bandee is not friends with either Taranza or DMK since he's generally rather distrustful of ex-villain dream friends, and so deep down he doesn't seriously care about their beef, but helps Kirby stop the fights regardless. Dedede on the other hand is in charge of star ally gatherings, and gave himself the job to break up star ally fights.
Rick, Kine, Coo and Gooey don't really want anything to do with the fights. They're not fans of drama like this. Gooey would rather just go fishing than bother trying to stop these annoying fights. The animal trio would do the same, as they'd normally help break up star ally fights but this particular beef is just too much for them to deal with.
-----
That concludes this post!
