This is what I think happens in my head when I have a mental breakdown.

||I’ve been having them more than usual. It’s really weird. I had to stay home all last week and I might have to stay home again later on today.....||

|My mom once told me that what I’m going through it like the recovery process of surgery. Not during the worst part of it, but as it starts healing, you gotta get it to exercise. Gently, of course.|

||I told her... “So it’s like.... they’re in the process of removing my emotional tumors........?”||

|The things people have been through, they fight it every day. I wish I could not give in to it.... but the anxiety is so intense. What else am I to do....?|

Assistance Please → Lily and Isabel

Taking off her jacket, Isabel slid it neatly over the back of her chair. It had been misting when she entered the office, and so she smoothed down her hair in the hope to evade any sort of unavoidable frizz from overtaking it. As the receptionist for the company that occupied this section of the building, she was tasked with arriving early, which didn't bother her in the least. Isabel was a notably happy person. While she, just like everyone else, had her lower moments, her disposition was sunny without (she hoped) being overwhelming. She was also a morning person, which made rising promptly and grabbing a small breakfast before heading out as the sun was still not too high in the sky wasn't too big of a deal. After verifying the copy room had enough supplies, she returned to her desk and double checked the latest report before printing it and walking across the office to place the copy where it was needed.

Slowly, people began to trickle in, and she greeted all of them with a warm sense of familiarity. The hours ticked by and everyone settled into their routines. Most of the calls she took were written down and she gave notes to whomever required them on who they needed to call back and what the conversation concerned. One call came in from a coworker's daughter, and she chatted with the young girl for a short while before forwarding the line. Lunchtime came with surprising rapidity, and she went into the break room to grab what she had packed. Even though she was allowed a bit of time in which to enjoy her meal, Isabel didn't want to abandon her post, and so she ate her sandwich and fruit at her desk. A few people in the office stopped by to chat, and she felt that was more than she could have requested. For the most part, everyone there made for very pleasant company.

It wasn't until about two in the afternoon that the smooth predictability of her day was interrupted. Just as she was trying to open a file on her computer, the screen froze. Her reaction was a simple sigh of slight disappointment. For a minute, she just sat there, trying to think of what she could do. Isabel wasn't great with technology; she held all of the skills needed for job and maybe knew a trick or two, but when it came to fixing things, she had no idea where to start. She could remember one of her instructors making it clear that she should never power off the machine unless completely necessary, so she avoided that, instead turning to being patient, and then, when the screen remained frozen, clicking around a little. Unfortunately, she wasn't met with any success, and reached over, pulling out one of her drawers and extracting the building directory. Her finger scanned through a few pages until she found the IT department.

Pressing in the number, she held the phone up to her ear and listened to it ring. Her greeting was friendly, and when the man on the other end asked, she explained her problem and recounted everything she had done. Then she was told to wait for a minute, and she smoothed down her pencil skirt and tugged at the arms of her sweater so they fell properly to her wrists as faint music echoed through the phone. Finally, he was back and let her know he would send someone up in just a minute to help her. After a word or two of thanks, she hung up and nodded to herself. Hopefully the person wouldn't be very long, but Isabel found a few calendar-related tasks to occupy herself while she waited, just in case.
