connection: loosely based on the relationship between ivar & randvi from assassin's creed valhalla, erik has been left in charge of the clan while his older brother was out sailing looking for new lands and alliances. sigurd's woman, y/m, has been erik's right hand, planning how to expand and earn favors on the territory they built their village on, and of course feelings have started to form, at the very least for him. tonight, erik has returned from a failed raid, losing two valuable warriors and 'brothers', and he is not taking it kindly. (i might bring sigurd later in the thread)

the sun was dipping below the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue over their small village. the air was thick with the scent of pine and the distant sound of waves crashing against the rocky shore. erik stood by the central fire, his thoughts a whirlwind of anger and frustration. the recent raid had not gone as planned, and the weight of their losses bore heavily on his shoulders. she approached, her presence a calming counterpoint to his stormy mood. her hair shimmered in the firelight, and her eyes, sharp and perceptive, seemed to see right through him. she was more than just a companion; she was a muse, a guiding light in the often-dark path he treaded, no matter how wrong it felt. she had been promised to sigurd, his brother, long ago, to keep peace between their clans. but with sigurd's growing absence, erik has found himself spending more and more time with her, and naturally, erik has found himself drawn to her, beyond any friendship or familial connection. he turned to face her, his jaw clenched. "there's nothing to talk about. the raid was a disaster. i failed." he figured he might as well save her the trouble of trying to say anything of the sort. his words were definitive, and he would not have it with any wisdom tonight. he just needed to drink himself into oblivion.
