I haven't announced these people yet, but they're all from Nova Futurum. Rowan has quite a big friend group so I'll only mention 3 of their closest friends.

Logan

These two spur each other on and they always are ankle deep in some random trouble. There's the time that they were rough-housing and shoving each other around and Rowan pushed too hard and Logan fell into a freshly poured patch of sidewalk. No one was hurt and Logan was only vaguely upset. Logan is fiercely loyal and never lets people talk shit about his friends. When Rowan is upset, Logan is the type to convince them to have a boxing match to let out their emotions. When it's the other way around, Rowan helps Logan get out of his head when he's upset and convinces him to explore a new section of town.

Caspian

These two teach each other how to take apart and reassemble technology. Caspian is especially interested in how to use technology as a fashion statement, which works great with Rowan's expertise with cybernetic implants. Caspian is a quiet and patient person and often gives Rowan enough space to share their emotions without feeling terrible about it. For all their quietness they come up with some wickedly smart ideas that help the group enjoy their time together even more.

Nicole

Rowan and Nicole appear to strangers in Nova Futurum as the two best behaved in their friend group. It's true, Nicole is the one who thinks of the repercussions of their actions and tends to be the "adult" one in their group. But this doesn't stop them from having fun with the others. These two enjoy exploring, just like the rest of the group. Unlike the others, these two explore upwards. They climb together and bond together over exercise and things like their favorite tv shows.

This was really fun to do and helped me flesh out my characters a lot more. Thank you again for the ask!

The Forgotten Legends of Chima Sneak Peek (part 23)

The moonlight shines, hitting faintly on these huge, hollow seeds that hang from those branches. They’re not just hollow; they have open holes like doors and windows! Are they houses? Cragger whimpers, “Eris… Tha’was close! How did you…” “You just answered me by yourself.” He sighs. From below, the rush of wolves pass galloping in a hurry, avoiding us and the tree, but their noise attracts an unexpected rumble at our height too. We hear heavy panting, and it gets louder by the minute.

The Forgotten Legends of Chima Sneak Peek (part 21)

Ehboni sits down besides me while holding a cup of tea. The vapor that steams from the warm liquid dances around in a trance, as it dampens my breath. She then leans forward, at my left. “Please, drink this tea I made. It’ll ease your pain.” A strong odor startles me. It definitely comes from that beverage. “But— Ehboni… is it acerbison?”, I stutter by moving my frail vocal chords. With hesitation, she pats me on the forehead, and lends the cup very close to my face. I drink the liquid from it, its bitter taste shocks my tongue, I snarl hard in reaction, but this is numb compared to the pain piercing me. It’s for my own good, anyways.

i can't think of much, i need to do more worldbuilding, so here's an excerpt of Scars of Duty I did for this year's NaNoWriMo! enjoy!

The villain slinks up to Lucian. “Are you afraid Hero?" They purr, staring at him underneath their dark eyelashes. Lucian swallows compulsively, eyes fluttering around the villain as they approach. Lucian knows, he knows, that he should be fighting. But he feels frozen on the spot, compelled to watch the villain slink up to him, fire and power flickering in their eyes as they look Lucian over. They smirk as they reach Lucian, grasping his chin gently with their thumb and index finger. They lean in until Lucian and the villain are sharing breaths. “Perhaps darling, you shouldn’t be so trusting with your personal space,” The villain murmurs, wickedness flickering in their eyes. Their lips curl into a smile and Lucian, feeling the magnetism, clenches his jaw. The villain brushes their thumb against Lucian’s lower lip but then steps back. Lucian shivers from the touch, feeling dazed, as the villain declares, “And now I have you surrounded.” They gesture with both arms. Lucian whirls around, seeing armed individuals on all sides. There’s too many for just Lucian to take them all on. He feels his arm creep to the HQ panic button, but the villain catches him and tisks. “You had all this opportunity to press that button, and now, seeing that you’re outnumbered, you choose to press it?”  The villain stalks away with a hard look on their face. “I had higher hopes for you, darling,” they say bitterly, face twisted in disgust. Lucian searches for the right words, the feeling of inadequacy rising. His mouth opens and closes, words dying on the tip of his tongue. He has no defense. He has no idea what to do. He's afraid. The villain watches this with angry dark eyes. “No, I don't want your excuses. Not this time, my darling hero,” they say, spitting the pet name out like a curse. They sharply turn towards the crowd, cape fluttering in the wind.

Soon enough, my eyes return to normal, yet I feel light headed. To my side, where the passenger's door is, I can see ten other jets surrounding the Eagle Spire's helipad, beaming downwards blue fire to stay afloat in the sky. "Stay where you are, Equila!", a deep, breathy voice shouts, "We won't hurt you— just be still!"

1. What is your absolute all-time favourite ideas you’ve ever had?

Honestly, I don't really know. All my favorite ideas I usually use for a wip and I don't really have a all-time fav.

2. Is there a question you’ve been asked in the past that really stands out to you, and you still think about sometimes?

Lately I've been seeing worldbuilding posts that say something along the lines of "do you know have to know every little detail about the world? is it relevant to the plot to know exactly which plants grow in each season? if it isn't, you don't have to figure that out." (plant thing example). It's a great reminder that sometimes the nitty-gritty details aren't needed and that worldbuilding can be more manageable.

3. What is your favourite part of being a writer? What parts could you take or leave?

My favorite part of being a writer is the storytelling and the adventures that I can make the characters go on. I enjoy daydreaming about the adventures and coming up with ways they would tackle different situations. What I don't enjoy is finding the precise words for each of those situations, especially the important lines. I tend to forget the words right when I need them which makes the entire feat annoying and the first few drafts will have tons of bracket placeholders.

4. What is your greatest motivation to write/create?

I love the process of creation and getting caught up in the mess of ideas. One of the greatest motivations is getting inspired or new ideas. Lately, I've been drawing and reading more and generally trying to balance all of my creative passions more which is something I haven't done for literal years. It's both exciting and strange at the same time. I still create and get into the mess of the/my process which is the best part for me, just in a different way.

5. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever read or been given as a writer?

Use brackets [ ] as placeholders when you're writing in order to keep your flow. I've depended on this for my initial drafts for my wips since it's the only way I can make sure I can keep writing without feeling bogged down with details that I can fill in later.

6. What do you wish you knew when you were first starting out writing?

It's okay to write scenes out of sequence and then piece it together afterward. If writing chronologically dampens your creative process, writing whatever scene comes to you is okay.

7. What is your favourite story you’ve written to completion? Link it if you’d like and can!

Nothing yet so far. I've posted one chapter of you still would've been mine but I'm not really happy with it.

8. What is your favourite out-of-the-box quote?

I don't really have any favorite quotes. I do enjoy clever or inspirational lines but I don't think about them often enough to remember them.

9. Which of your characters would you say has the most controversial mindset? Why do you say so, and how do you personally feel about their ideals?

Rowan Reyes, 100%. They're anti-capitalist, anti-government, anti-rich, to just name a few movements. They're incredibly passionate and motivated and don't let things like government confidentiality stop them. I feel like this is a lot more radical than most people believe and the topics would definitely start arguments at family dinners or on twitter. Personally their ideals are a lot more intense than mine but it's something new to explore. It's very suited for their role in their story along with their society.

10. If you, when you first started writing, met you now, what would younger you think?

I would be surprised at my career path and would be surprised that I read more fanfiction than novels lately. I used to be REALLY into reading and so the shift in what I read would be surprising. Also, I'd be surprised that fanfiction exists point-blank. It's what I wanted as a kid but I didn't even imagine that it would be possible. Oh and that I transitioned. (again, something child me didn't even imagine to be possible)

My throat trembles while I feel the liquid go down to my stomach. It’s horrible. I don’t even want to look down and stare at my bruised body. Dad doesn’t want to see it either. Though, there he is, his eyes unable to understand the wounds on my neck, the redness scattered throughout my skin… Or the damp fur, too.

“My son…“, he kneels before the bed, “How could—”

His voice froze while speaking. He’s terrified– I can see his paws twitching.

Dad cries, “I failed you.”
