Astori: The 4 Star Festivals 🌠 - Calli

The Astori - from the Latin ‘Astrum’ meaning ‘Star’ or ��Heaven - are the 4 Star Festivals in the Calli faith.

Each Festival corresponds with and is celebrated during the halfway point between each Equinox and Solstice.

Asotri 1: Nearta ❄️

Inspired by the Latin ‘Novissimus’ meaning ‘Last', Nearta is the mid-winter celebration - taking place on February 5th.

Astori 2: Protaura 🌷

Inspired by the Latin ‘Primo’ meaning ‘First’, Protaura is the mid-spring celebration - taking place on May 5th.

Astori 3: Defotia 🐚

Inspired by the Latin ‘Dimidietas’ meaning ‘Half’, Defotia is the mid-summer celebration - taking place on August 5th.

Astori 4: Triterra 🌰

From the Latin ‘Tertius’ meaning ‘Third’, Triterra is the mid-autumn celebration - taking place on November 5th.

what made you so enamored of Marth?

it’s a loooooooooong story. I have told it before but here we go again:

Once upon a time in a galaxy not far away at all, a young wee bab stayed at a daycare center where there was a gamecube. This smol child played Super Smash Bros Melee when it first came out, long before the phrases of “We tech those” “salty Fox Mains” and “spiking” ever came to be, this child picked Kirby, Link and marth as their favorites, respctively. Since all these characters had voice linees during attacks among the lines of “HIYA!!” this child picked their tag name (only a four letter slot at the time), to be well, “HIYA”. this would unknowingly shape their future.

Fast forward to present day minus a few years, and this child was now adult, and was too shy to make friends. They happened upon a Super Smash Bros 4 game in the common room of their dorm and they shyly asked to join. They couldn’t believe the character roster! Over 50 billion! Who to pick?! Remembering their good old Melee days they debated between Kirby, Marth and their Brawl days of Zelda. They picked Marth.

Every Thursday night they’d duke it out with their friends. And some other visitors would join the fray too. “Marth?!” the others mocked, “He sucks.” But this child stayed faithful, they would not let others deter them from such a beautiful, graceful, dashing Prince.

Soon there came a notice on the door: “Super Smash Bros Tournament” A tournament! This was perfect for their friends to bond together after their tireless nightly fights and brawls in front of the great TV. This is exactly the kind of thing they prepared for. So the squad competed. Despite being a relative n00b and Marth main this cild did exceptionally well and surprised the many foe with their determination and skill. And so they continued to compete moving to bigger and bigger competition.

Suddenly, one day their friend said “HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!” The child was confused. “You can’t be going around playing Marth and the Fire Emblem cast without playing a single fire emblem game” their friend said. Their friend held a gun to their head (not really) and told them they had to play a fire emblem game. They even offered to loan Awakening. “If you like Pokemon, you’ll like fire emblem! It’s an RPG turn based strategy just like Pokemon”

Now, kids I’d like to point out that any time someone tries to getyou to play a game and tell you it’s just like Pokemon, that would be your queue to turn tail and just R U N. Last time that happened to me, a friend said the exact same thing trying to get me to play Final Fantasy X, and trusting their word, I did and had an absolute miserable and disappointing experience. But that’s a asotry for another time…

Since the child didn’t want their brains blown out by their friend, despite all the red flags surrounded their sugar coated words, I decided to play the game.

And HECK. I LOVED IT. I beat it in two weeks during finals. and pre-ordered Fates (unfortunately I realized I loved the game too late to get a special edition but I’m okay with that now).

Back to Marth:

I decided to join a tournament right before Marth got buffed in a patch. Marth was considered one of the weakest characters in game. But I believe, and continue to believe that tiers are some made up shit to scare n00bs and people who are passionate. I ended up at fifth place out of sixty at this tournament and met, and befriended my first truly top super smash bros player who noticed me immediately when I beat out a ditto and a couple others. The whole room ended up cheering not for me, but for Marth since I didn’t really have a name to them, I was just Marth. Everyone called me Marth, Little Marth, or Mar-Mar. That’s who I was, the crown jewel, the one true Marth. Later I ended up winning fifth due to several of my opponents leaving and winning by default. I ended up taking awhile to lose a match.

And that’s how it began. I was proud of myself. And people knew me as not just someone who played Marth but was Marth. I spent a lot of time thereafter researching and learning as much as I could about Marth and drawing him too! I made this blog shortly after beating awakening, naming it after the nickname that was bestowed upon me at that tourney.

Unfortunately I haven’t played smash since April 2017. It so far seems like my competitive days are over… but I still love Marth and fire emblem.
