Balalikia sat cross from Mr Chang “ So your taking a trip to New York babe?” 

“ Some shit about mind control drugs” 

“ Your kidding me”  

Chang scowled  “ I wish, you heard of  Dino Golzine Fry face?” 

Balalikia raised an eyebrow yes she was aware of the head of the French Mafia and all his dirty dealings. The going on’s at Club cod alone were enough to leave a bad taste in her mouth.   “ Don’t tell me” she resisted the urge to groan. “ What kind of mind control, torture, or are we talking bond Villian antics?”  

“ He started his own supervillian organization…..” Chang continued. “ Their trying to take over the world starting with South America” 

“ Oh fuck me!” Balalikia understood where this was going chances are those power hungry shit heads  would create a huge mess, draw more  FBI interest  in the drug trade. There was also a possbility someone far smarter could get their hands on this new substance.  

The CIA is very Adament about me personally seeing to the situation” Chang stressed. 

“ Their people  are involved then, probly in both the trafficking ring and the experimentation funding. This is going to fuck so many powerful people if word gets out. ” 

“ Not to mention it might remind people their paying for expensive  poisen. “ 

Balakilkia nods  “ And then all of us have to deal with slipping profit margins….” 

“ It gets even better one of papa Dino’s whore’s is running around distroying half of New York.” Chang sounded almost amused. “ He trained his child slave to kill, paid for everything” 

Chang slides a picture of the aftermath of a massacure across the table to Balakikia. She didn’t even flinch seeing far worse over the years. 

He hands her a second picture the aftermath of a tortured body, so mutilated and disfigued it barely looks human.  

“ The work of seventeen year old, Aslan Jade Callenresse, the streets of New York nicknamed him, Ash Lynx.” 

 Another Hansel and Gretal, she thought darkly a self destructive monster with no leash or way to control him. Who only knew how to cause death and destruction. 

“ Former Mafia hit man, debt collector,  and gang leader he went rouge a couple of months ago. He’s so infamous among the locals, I didn’t even have to ask you to look though kiddie porn this time” 

Balalikia gave him a humorless look  “ Given the circumstances I wouldn’t rule out the possibility….I’ll still end up viewing pedophile jack off material”  

Chang reaches for another photo 

“ The Lee’s were massacured recently, they say it was Vietnamese but I have my doubts” 

The picture is shot through the glass window into a room where Hau Lung Lee stands drooling next to a slender figure with long hair. 

“ You think someone used that mind control drug and is puppeteering him behind the scenes” 

“ Unfortunately the Itallians surveillance team didn’t get much, whoever it was knew they were being watched and they were fast…but we did get this” 

Chang hands her another photo which was enhanced to reveal the tattoo of a dragon on the nape of the figures neck. The Lee family crest.  “ Seems the massacure hits a little close to home” 

“ So once again we have to clean up someone else’s mess” 

Chang leans forward  “ I’m going down there see what can be salvaged and what’s just trash” 

They both knew the unspoken implications of what Mr Chang was implying. 

“ I’m meeting a friend for lunch would you like to join?” Chang asked sardonically

“ of course Babe” …

“ Thank you for coming” Mr Chang said politely. 

 Vito  Maranzo the head of the five italian families was sitting across them at the italian resturant. “ I’m glad your here, Chang…..would you like anything? This place has the best Veal” 

“ No Thank you” Chang said politely. 

“ The lady?” 

“ I’m quite fine” 

“I’m going to get right to it,  This Ash Lynx business is out of control” Vito said. 

“ Now he’s gathering allies from your own gangs, as I understand it” Chang stated. 

“ Just the Chinese and the darkies” Vito said dismissively. 

“ Maybe today but tomorrow, you could have a full rebellion on your hands” Balalika mused and she’s know how easy it was to rebell against those in power, who would cast you aside. 

“ The Chinese don’t seem concerned though” Chang said. “ Could  the Lee’s have cut a deal with Lynx?” 

“ Hau Lung lee, never had his dad’s capabilities”  Vito paused  “ Don’t get me wrong Shang Lung Lee was a freak, with his ten year old girl concubines and shit. But hey the guy knew how to run a buiness, and he created one of the largest global networks.” 

 He paused 

“ I don’t like to speak ill of the dead….but  the Lee boys were all pretty dim” Vito takes a sip from his wine glass. “ Shang used to joke with me about just picking his concubines kid, as his heir” 

So Shang Lung lee had another son, interesting. 

“ What did you think of him?” Chang asked casually “ Any good?” 

“ Never met him, honestly….Wang and Hau  Lung, hired toadies….crazied loonies anyone who inflated their sense of self importance. I’m not surprised the Vietnammese wacked em! ” he paused “ If your thinking the kid was responsible, he disappeared one night along with his mom.”  

“ if Hau had died too it would have been a headache inducing shit show.  The Lee’s have blood ties to the Chinese Emperor, distant relation but their the closest thing to Royalty we have.” 

“ I see and Dino Golzine” Balalikia muses. 

Vito cursed in Italian  “ His slut is causing millions of dollars in damages and Dino isn’t making it back” Vito grinds his cigar between his teeth. “ Hey its your business what you do in the bedroom.”  he breathes deeply 

“ But important people are dead, senators ect the press are having a field day. Then I find out he’s spending hundreds on some secret experiment! Now we have the CIA breathing down our necks. The problem is the little menace is too good, Golzine brought in several dangerous people to tutor that boy”

“ Did he pin his suicide note to the kid  as well?” Chang asked dryly 

Vito scowled  “ Its no laughing matter” 

“ Your right, we have a finically crippling situation, i’ll be take care of just give me a couple of months and we’’ll have the situation under control”...

“ You find anything on the mother?” Chang asked Balelikia later on. 

“  A fake passport to get into the country, after she was taken to Shang Lee’s house its as if she creased to exist” 

“ I need you and your team  to find out if any of the Lee’s staff were randomly promoted to a high position without warning?” 

“ Do you want a confession?” Balalikia asked 

“ I have someone else in mind for dealing with them, after all she’s might enjoy getting to come home again” Chang said

aslan was given the nickname “ash lynx” by the street gangs and the mafia as they all thought that aslan was similar to a lynx; a feral big cat.

whereas his real name was “aslan jade callenresse”, where “aslan” means “lion”

so i just wanted to point out that, everyone thought that he was like an untamed cat when in reality he was like an eccentric and majestic lion,

and the only ones who knew his real name or his real personality were eiji and max.

I think Ash would like to live in NY in the future, has many good memories of NY with Eiji now. And wasn't he technically "homeschooled" with the private tutors? I know it's a possibility in the US but you have to get certificates? Dino was an elitist snob with all the molding it's probable he wanted Ash to have supreme official education. But honestly I don't think Yoshida thought over those details since she didn't intend for Ash to have a future so we might as well decide for ourselves.

He was educated, that was in Banana Fish. “An IQ of over 200 and the education to go with it” - (Sing, Garden of Light) and we know he had teachers from private opinion.

Yeah he’d probably have something saying he has a highschool education but he wouldn’t really be able to live as Ash Lynx or Aslan Callenresse. He could probably falsify some papers but I think he’d still do a uni course or maybe even attend a university.

His life just seems so chaotic that he’d probably want to do some things the standard way. Not to mention (at his age) he’d still be a first or second year so he’d fit in very quickly.

Your hand fits in mine like it's been made just for me...

Ash takes his hand without thinking, without realizing it until his heart starts to sing a sweet song that accompanies him at every step.  Eiji doesn't say anything either, he just let his body follow the other boy, without really wondering where he is taking him, without feeling guilty again for anything, not for his pain, neither for Ash's, nor for the world around them that's now, fragrant and colorful.

And there is something about taking his hand that makes Ash feel complete, unique, a new being.  It seems that in taking Eiji's hand, something as simple as that erases at once his doubts, his fear, everything lived so far.  Neither of them would dare to break the silence now, they just keep walking quickly among the people who don't seem to care about the party that is unleashed inside them.

Because now it's all about the two, it's all about Ash and Eiji.  It's all about the two of them walking at the same time under the bright spring sun, walking away from the tall buildings and the traffic and from the rush of the people.  Away from everything and closer to each other because that's how it has to be and not only Ash's heart knows it but his hand, that hand that holds Eiji's with a feeling that goes beyond everything.  Actually, it seems that his whole body knows that after meeting Eiji there will be no place in his heart for anyone else.  Eiji knows it too and while the spring sun shines triumphantly in the sky, the words are unnecessary and the feeling of the two is all that really matters…

No matter how long I'll still remain yours and only yours...

"Ash, do you think we'll find each other again in another world?" asks Eiji.

His voice seems natural, his question has interrupted the quietness of the afternoon. Ash and Eiji have been sitting by the sea for a long time now. They have been silent, the sound of the waves that are kissing the shore makes them feel nostalgic as if they were missing the very person who's by their side.

It happens to them regularly now. It's is as if a strange energy were sorrounding them, it's as if the ghost of separation was there, ready to break them up, ready to cmake them go back again to loneliness and sadness.

"I'm here with you now, Eiji and I'm not going to go anywhere", answers Ash looking at Eiji in the eye.

"I know, but..."

"But?"

"I mean, when we die..."

Eiji’s cheeks are red now and Ash takes the other boy's hand in his. He can feel Eiji’s afraid. He can sense that Eiji has made that question out of fear. Eiji's still afraid of losing him which is understandable after all the things they've been through. Ash knows Eiji needs to feel reassured. Ash knows that Eiji’s fear is deep and real and he wants to talk him down.

"Not even death will tear us apart", says Ash with confidence and warmth, trying to put his heart in every single word. "My heart will be yours forever, no matter how long or how far we may go. I'll always find you. I'll be with you in this life and all my future lives. And if it's true we only live once, then I'll find you every day in this life. I'll always love you, Eiji. You'll never lose me. In this world and all the worlds you are, I'll still remain yours and only yours. I promise, okay? So don't be afraid nor sad. I'm here now. I love you more than anything right here and right now and it will never change."

The echo of Ash words get lost amidst the waves of the sea. Eiji smiles and lets his head rest on Ash's shoulder. Eiji feels comfortable now, he knows Ash words are true and faithful. And he decides to believe him. He decides to forget the fear and the pain. Ash is there. Ash will find him anywhere, Ash will search the universe so they always can get together and Eiji knows he will do exactly the same for Ash...

And every heart in the room will melt...

It has been a beautiful wedding ceremony. The guests to the reception of the second weeding of Max and Jessica Glenreed have been enjoying the party that has become a celebration of love. Both the groom and the bride have left earlier that night and in the middle of the room there are just some couples dancing.

Most of the people that remains in the venue are looking at a pair of boys who are swaying in each other´s arms. Everybody knows them. Everybody knows that maybe, the following wedding would be the one in which they´ll be declared as husbands.

Ash smiles when he hears some whispers that say the same thing he has been thinking since Eiji caught Jessica´s bouquet in his hands. He would marry the man who´s smiling in front of him. He would marry Eiji Okumura even if marriage has never been a dream of his. But suddenly, there´s a future drawn on Eiji´s eyes. If it´s with Eiji, he would do whatever it takes to keep him by his side.

Ash can see a life together in Eiji´s eyes. Ash can see happy days and passionate nights; he can imagine a little house in a quiet place near the beach, maybe they can adopt a dog since Eiji loves them. Ash can see himself growing old with Eiji by his side, walking streets and fighting new battles. He can see himself falling in love with Eiji all over again. Yes, he would marry Eiji one day and he cannot be surer about it than in that very moment when Eiji´s smiling surely imagining the same things he´s watching in his mind.

“Do I sound like a hopeless romantic if I say that I want to have a day like this someday?” whispers Eiji and Ash smiles tenderly.

“A day for you to be the most handsome man on Earth? That´s unfair, Eiji, you are like that every day in your life”, answer Ash as Eiji´s cheeks fluster.

“That´s not what I´m talking about, Aslan”, says Eiji with a pout.

“What are you talking about then, babe?” asks Ash even when he knows the answer perfectly.

“I want to have a wedding day too. I want the suits, the flowers, and the ceremony. I want our friends to be smiling as I pronounce my vows. I want to throw a bouquet directly into Sorter’s hands. I want photographs, thousands of photographs that Mr. Ibe would take for us. I want a ring on your finger and I want…”

Eiji stops abruptly in the middle of his speech. He has never been afraid of telling Ash what he´s thinking or feeling but this time he thinks maybe he has surpassed a limit. Because maybe Ash is not dreaming of a wedding. Maybe Ash doesn´t have the same wish he has.

“I want that too”, says Ash making Eiji´s eyes sparkle with his answer. “I want to be the groom in all your pictures.”

“This has been the worst proposal ever”, says Eiji before he kisses Ash´s lips softly. “But I´ll make it up to you soon, I promise.”

“The day we´ll get married all the hearts in the room will melt.” Says Ash with a sweet smile on his lips. “Mine will be the first because I´m serious when I say you´re the most beautiful man in the universe and when I get to see you in your groom attire, well, Eiji Okumura, I´m going to have a heart attack.”

Eiji smiles and kisses Ash again, this time deeper and hard. Because even when it has been the proposal he has always imagined, it´s beautiful to know Ash wants to be with him endlessly and forever. Eiji´s happy to know that. Eiji feels his own heart melting at the idea of an eternity that´s called Ash.

When you get caught between the moon and New York city...

Eiji´s watching all Ash´s pictures he has taken since the first day he was in New York City. He doesn´t know why he has the need to do so, but now the pictures are all over his bed and the moonlight is shining over them giving Ash´s paper smile the appearance of a mysterious illusion.

Eiji feels his heart pounding at said sight: blond hair, emerald green eyes and the wild expression of a boy who seems to fear no one, nothing. That´s Ash Lynx and it has passed two hours since the moment Ash Lynx kissed him.

Yes, Ash Lynx kissed him and it was Eiji´s first kiss actually. Nobody had kissed him before and Ash´s kiss was… well, amazing.

Eiji’s cheeks blush at that thought. He must be embarrassed but he´s not. He must be worried because Ash´s kiss was actually a way to deliver a message and entrusted him a mission but… it´s impossible for Eiji not to think about the kiss over and over again.

Eiji feels a burning pleasure in the bottom of his chest when he thinks about it. It is like a heat wave which is hitting hard on him. He is able to remember the surprise and the wild excitement he felt and how those emotions became in pure euphoria later as Ash lips were moving onto his. And when Ash ended the kiss after having caressed his tongue with his, Eiji felt like kissing Ash again and again, Eiji had found himself wishing for an endless kiss. But then, he remembered they were kissing in the middle of the visit room of a state prison and reality takes over Eiji´s mind again.

“We are in the middle of a war and you have to get your shit together and help Ash, you stupid”, Eiji says out loud.

 He´s trying to forget about his feelings because he´s a man on a mission. He needs to stop acting like a hopelessly romantic teenager because there´s no time to fall in love.

“Falling in love?” says Eiji and he stands up as he is afraid of what he has just thought.

No, no, no. He´s not in love, he´s not having romantic feelings for a boy he has just met, a boy who has transform his easy life in a hysterical one.  He´s not in love, he doesn´t feel anything for Ash, does he?

In that very moment, the softness and the humidity of Ash´s mouth appears again in his mind and Eiji feels he has been caught by only one kiss. Apart from that, he is caught in a city he doesn´t know, he is caught in a war that is not his to fight and even the moon seems to have caught him because the moon is illuminating Ash´s picture again making Eiji´s heart melt.

The song says that the best thing you can do when you´re in New York City is falling in love. Well, maybe Eiji has accomplished that goal by now and truth be told, it is the only thing that´s causing him distress because if he had to kill somebody to have the chance to kiss Ash once more, he would do it. That´s the only thing Eiji´s totally sure of because maybe, just maybe, he´s a little bit in love with Ash Lynx…
