Harvest is Plentiful

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:37‭-‬38 NIV All the glory, praises and honor be to the Holy Father in our Lord Jesus Christ's precious name ! The subject verses from the gospel according to Matthew could well be classified as Lord's mandate for all of us. The context of the verse revolves around the multitude of people who are very much like the harvest. Seeing the multitude of people, Jesus had compassion for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd, distressed and dispirited. Over all, this harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few. The same is true in these times. The harvest is plenty all around the world, but the reapers are very few. Our Lord Jesus instructed His disciples to ask the Almighty God, who is the Lord of Harvest. Therefore, as the Son of the Living God mandated us to ask, we shall pray to the Holy Father for the reapers. Very importantly, we are to listen carefully for He might be calling us to respond. Yes, the said workers of the field could be you or me according to the will of the Holy Father. Furthermore, it is for each one of us to respond to the Almighty's calling and not harden our hearts. What Hardships Do You Need To Go Through?⠀ ⠀ Acts 14:20b-22⠀ The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe. They preached the good news in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said.⠀ ⠀ Thoughts for Today:⠀ Paul is like the "Eveready Bunny." He just keep going and going and going. One day Paul is stoned and left for dead in Lystra, and the next day he leaves with Barnabas for the neighboring city of Derbe to preach some more. Am I the only one, or do you find that amazing as well? It's not like Derbe wouldn't have heard about what happened in Lystra, so in some ways the risks had increased. I wonder how Paul and Barnabas really felt on the inside -- did they any have fear or doubt? I wonder what they talked about on the road to Derbe and over dinner that evening -- do you think what happened in Lystra came up? I wonder what they thought about and dreamed about that night -- did Paul flinch as he relived the stones hitting his body?
