Hey! Though the more serious side of Echo has been previously hinted at, I know this post is different in tone than usual. Heavier content will always be tagged (there won’t be anything more than brief depictions of blood/violence like above) & will not be the main focus of the blog. I try to keep a balance of lighthearted vs more grounded, impactful moments of storytelling, & I hope you can continue to enjoy what’s to come!

@ Umbra with a playful tone, unable to even fit in the cave, so there is just a giant eye and a stupid lion with his face smushed against the ground, "Hey, you look somewhat like me! Perhaps we are distant cousins~?"

UMBRA: "Perhaps we're related on my dad's side! I don't know much about his side of his family, but I do get a lot of my looks from him..."

The luxcatty laughs sheepishly, before shuffling his paws.

UMBRA: "I'm sorry if that came off as rude -- its not often we get visits from legends, let alone friendly ones. "

UMBRA: "You must have traveled a long way to arrive here, yes? From what I know most Solgaleo live in Alola. Might I send you off with some gifts on your journey back?"

"Eterna has extremely lush soil, and it means our dried herbs for teas and polutices are some of the highest qualities around! Berries from this region tend to be extremely delicious as well!"

Cinnabun: I cannot control my psychic energy output through them. As a result, I do not use my ears for psychic abilities. It is too dangerous.

Ziska paused, taking in a slow breath. Despite this legend’s size they gave off such a feeling of calm and... understanding. It was odd, but not unwelcome. Maybe that aura the Solgaleo had would help keep her calm this morning.

“I was... young when I was taken from my parents. I know that’s common for a lot of mons and most just... accept the forced change. I refused to.

My first owner was someone who simply traveled and collected rare mons for bragging rights. There was no real care, he just expected us to break down and accept what ever he said. When I refused and fought back constantly, he decided I wasn’t worth it and just sold me off for some other exotic mon. After that I lost any hope of ever returning home since I was suddenly in a completely different region.”

The eevee had to stop again, anger bubbling to the surface as she remembered being treated as not a living being with her own will but simply a object of value. Another moment and she forced herself to relax, no energy spikes. Not with West here.

“This cycle continued more times then I care to remember. Traded to some new stranger in a new place, and when I refused to be some decoration or pet I was tossed to the next person because I wasn’t ‘worth the hassle’. Sometimes they tried to force me to obey by being some training punching bag to their other mons. Some even tried to force me into rare mon breeding programs since I’m female but that ended quickly once they realized I’d hurt any mon or human without hesitation. I just got madder, more distrusting, and gave up on humans bringing anything but pain. 

Even the one time a human treated me like a proper living being, nothing came from it long term and it just left me thrown out by another human who hated my existence. At this point, I don’t want to see another human for the rest of my life. And those who defend them can simply shut up and stay away from me.”

Altan; his voice is sincere. "Please forgive me, for I oft speak my mind freely; you are very beautiful, my dear. Do humans still worship you as they did in the days of old...? I heard far away that they bring flowers to a burnt tower..."

"Oh my~" She chuckled "Aren't you a charmer. You're quite attractive yourself darling." The wings upon her head gave a little flutter with pleasure.

"As for your question, it seems you are referring to a different Ho-oh. I do know what you refer to and I am from Johto but I was not the one who occupied that tower. Nor am I Johto's protector." Harumi thought a moment, looking for words on how to describe her position.

"If I were to give myself a title, it would be that of a wanderer who guides and protects those along the way."

"Titan of the seas...!" The Solgaleo phased into existence a bit away from the Lugia paws touching the bays sands lightly; but immediately he is bowing. To the sea legends feet a small object floats with bright pink psychic power, it is a primitive statue carved long ago out of Wailord bone with a blue chord about its neck, hemmed by a rusted, chipped bell. “Alola is surrounded by the sea, and often, I see tributes to you. Such a thing belongs to the water, but I could not idly toss it back... so, please accept this gift.”

Titan of the Seas.

Lord of Storms. 

The Stormbringer.

Susano squeezed their eyes shut at the wealth of memories. "Do not bow to me. Rise your head, s-" Susano halted, averting their face. "I am no longer a titan of the seas. You are mistaken," the Leviathan corrected the lion, avoiding his visage. 

For a brief moment, Susano's expression appeared pained. "You people must worship another. My name has not been uttered by mankind in-"

The Leviathan's head whipped at the sound of a bell, their eyes honing in on the small statue. Their eyes widened at the sight of it. They admired the craftsmanship, their gaze brimming with memories.

"Susano, Susano!" 

The human children flocked around him, following him wherever he wandered like a hatchling would with their mother.  This was their little game. They waited to see when the Lugia would let his guard down, ready to pounce. 

Their parents watched with warm smiles and laughter. The children were at it again, playing with their protector. Not an ounce of worry clouded their expression as they observed the little game.

"Susano!" One of them skated in front of his path, forcing him to halt. The Leviathan smiled, rumbling with amusement. 

This little one he was all too familiar with. She had come a day before, proudly showing off her missing tooth as one would with their fangs.

"One day I'll grow strong fangs like you, Susano!" She proclaimed, all smiles and grins. 

Now her curls tumbled in front of her eyes. She brushed them out of view but she was proudly holding up something for him to see. 

"What do you have now, my small dragon?" 

She opened up her palm, proudly revealing it to him. A small statue in her small grasp, reflecting in the sun. 

Made of bone it was carved and sculpted in the likes of his visage. His eyes went wide, seeing the small little scraps on her tiny hands. 

"You made this for me…?" 

"Mhm!" She nodded her head, her curls bobbling, framing her face perfectly as she grinned even wider. "You are our storm! Our sea! Mama says we give to those we like. So I made this! For you!" 

Susano wrenched free of their memories before they drew them in any further. Their frame trembled as they took the tribute in their wing. So small… So was she… 

The Lugia looked towards the Solgaleo, their gaze burning. "This does belong to the sea. Noble sun. Whenever I have time to spare, I will venture to Alola and gift you in the manner you deserve but for now… I must go."

Susano took the skies without further, cradling the new gift in a cherish hold.
