Hi! I really wanna do artfight but haven’t figured out how to send anything can u maybe explain? 🥺👉👈

Sure! Artfight is an online art-trading event that happens for the entire month of July, on artfight.net— every year, two “themes” are revealed, and participating artists will pick one of them to be on that “team.” You can upload reference pictures and explanations of your ocs to your profile page on artfight, and throughout the month, artists can draw other users’ characters and send them as “attacks,” ideally drawing characters from artists on the opposite team to earn points for their own team (though many artists (including myself) will just join/participate to draw their friends’ ocs and characters they think would be fun to draw, regardless of the teams)!

If you’re trying to figure out how to send an attack, you should be able to find the “Attacks” option on the drop down on the top right of the artfight home page (under the ‘Manage’ section, not ‘Messages’), and on that page you should be able to select “Submit New Attack!” from there, you’ll fill out anything you want to say about the attack, upload your images (as well as a 200x200 pixel thumbnail)l what “level” of drawing it is (how much you colored it, if you shaded it, if there’s a background, etc), and the website will calculate how many points you’ve earned for your team based on all of those categories and wether or not the artist you’re attacking is on your team or not!

Unfortunately, there’s only a few more days left in this year’s artfight, so you won’t be able to earn points for your team after August 3rd, but nothing can stop you from drawing others’ OCs for fun and posting them here after the event! Or you can always wait for next years fight if you want to take part in the team fight itself! But that being said you can join at any time even if it’s just for one week or one day or whatever!

How did you go about contacting a rabbi for the first time? I've found a rabbi I'd like to email about conversion, but I'm really nervous about it. I don't know what to say, what information I should give in that first email, even how to greet him. I know it's probably just my nerves but I want to get it right the first time, since there aren't a lot of synagogues around here and I don't want to ruin my chance

I'm going to refer you to this ask where somebody had a similar question (if they are reading, I hope it went well!!!). It can absolutely be intimidating, but I've found at least with my shul, that just being forthright about your intention can be very helpful. Everyone in my shul knows I'm not a jew, and that I want to be - it's something I feel strongly about not "hiding," though I did wait a bit until after services. You don't have to tell them your entire life's history if you don't want to, though, but I've found many of my shul members were... fascinated about my story and why I was there. I also explicitly asked the rabbi to not call on me for Torah reading and for anything regarding things potentially requiring a minyan, and that was helpful because I was nervous about being almost... called out, and I felt that it would be respectful. Since pesach is around the corner, if the shul is hosting a seder, ask if it's okay to show up! I think it's vital that you (general) get holidays under your belt whenever possible, and going to holidays can be a very transformative experience! This past purim made me entirely sure that this was right. Those community experiences can truly show you exactly what to expect from that community.

We often catastrophize being intrusive going to shul, but I've found that as long as you're honest, as long as you just follow that shul's preferences for non-members, they are likely going to work with you. I was so scared to be going to shul, and I totally get that. It's okay if you don't yet have the "right" things, too. I don't have my own tallis yet and don't plan on wearing it yet, but my shul has their own you can borrow, and I think it's common for shuls to have tallis and siddur and kippot you can borrow if you are planning on observing in that way.

I know this is a lot of information to throw at you, and I'm sorry about that. I, however, love shul and I want other jews-in-progress and jews-by-choice to be able to fall in love with it. Please take your time - you deserve to love shul. You deserve to love judaism and the jewish community you enter or plan to enter.

If anybody has their own thoughts, I'm sure the asker and I would love to hear it! I woke up not too long ago and my thoughts are chaotic, but I wanted to answer this speedily, seeing as shabbos is also just around the corner.

Thankfully, all the support from today and from my post has really made me feel better about staying in the RW fandom and has actually made me WANT to make art and stuff...funny how being in a positive environment fosters creativity, huh? Anyways, I just hope the fandom takes it to heart, because I really, really love the game and I love creating for it!! I love getting asks about my rot au like, the fact that my art has had an impact on people is mind boggling to me??

The man stiffens and regards Dustin with a look of confusion and wariness.

“What did you just call me?”

Steve tightens his grip on the boy who quickly becomes a sputtering mess attempting to appear nonchalant.

“N-nothing, sir. I just, uh, mistook you for a friend of mine.”

The captain grinds his jaws, all too aware that it would not do to just throw the Henderson boy overboard in clear sight of the rest of his crew. He needs to shut up if he knows what’s good for him, that much is clear, and Steve pulls the boy behind himself, holding out his arm to keep him from moving. But Henderson seems to have come to his senses, because his back is ramrod straight and he doesn’t move so much as a finger. Good.

“You got many friends drowning in these godforsaken waters?”

“He will if he doesn’t hold his tongue,” Steve interrupts before Dustin can dig his grave any deeper, his voice cutting through the fog without a hint at humour. It makes the man flinch enough to harden Steve’s resolve and he watches as the all too familiar stubbornness succumbs to the sheer endless cold and perhaps a bit of fear that leaves the man a shivering mess even as he tries to keep his chin up.

It tears his heart into pieces that he hasn’t the strength to put back together again.

Eventually, one of these shreds takes control of him as he takes in the way his wet clothes cling to his body, thinner than when last he saw him.

“Get him some dry clothes, then bring him to my cabin.” He doesn’t look at Robin as he says it, but she’s the one who moves first.

Steve doesn’t stay to watch, to take in the ghost on his ship, because if he stayed but a second longer, it would be him lifting Theo from the ground and carrying him to his cabin himself. It would be Steve whose weakness brings him to his knees and leaves him there for all eternity.

Instead, he turns around and shoves the young Henderson boy ahead of him, deaf to the boy’s fearful, blubbering apologies.

I think Barnaby being a big, scary dog would obviously frighten them (they probably got chased by a dog when they were on the streets)

I also think in the first few days of joining the mob, Barnaby makes jokes at their expense and they don’t like it—Y’know, being a little kid and all

Maybe after a few years Ashton grows to tolerate him but before that they don’t like him at all right now kajaksksl

Hi! Some friends and I were discussing Bhaal and we were wondering about the souls of people killed in his name. Does he get their souls for himself even if they worshipped other gods? Is the act of murder alone enough to give him more power or does he need the souls of the sacrificed too?

Sacrificing a victim to Bhaal, as an act of worship and an act of murder, will feed him, yeah. As for the souls... I don't think they should go to him, no.

According to what I know of FR lore, I don't think Bhaal should be getting any souls except for those of his own faithful. The dead pass onto the Fugue plane and are judged by Kelemvor, and those not False or Faithless will be passed onto their deity and there's not a lot other deities can do, usually.

Jergal, in his early days, took exception to other gods getting souls, instead of him getting them all. As the ruler of the dead, if it had been within his abilities to horde all souls for himself and keep them from leaving the City of Judgement, he would have done so; instead he had to create Kezef, the Chaos Hound - an abomination that hunts and devours/destroys souls as they pass from the Fugue Plane and move towards their god's plane so that no god may claim them.

There has been at least one occasion where a god stole the souls of another god's followers - Bane consumed a large chunk of Bhaal's assassins. That was somewhat special circumstances though, since he had Myrkul's (begrudging) aid and Myrkul is an extraordinarily powerful necromancer and was also reigning god of the dead at the time, so he had access to those rules to break them. Also Bane and Myrkul were already in terminally deep shit with Ao, so breaking the rules even further and risking the wrath of the Overgod wasn't such a concern at the time. (He's also no longer god of the dead (Kelemvor is), so I doubt he has the authority/power to do that kind of stuff again)

There's a lot of lore and I don't know everything, so there might be information that says otherwise (and conflicting information that agrees with me) but everything I know says he shouldn't and if I were DMing I would say he can't claim them.

That said, Larian has their own personal canon and it does appear that Bhaal is eating/hiding other souls in that, according to Jergal's comment after you kill your lover and ask for their resurrection. Of course his excuse if you ask for Quil/Alfira is that he could but he's not inflicting you on them again, so that might've been a one-off soul eating to punish Durge specifically.

OH YAY EZRA QUESTIONS!! I've been wanting to write more about this dork >:)

What position do they have? How long have they been working there?

Ezra is a music and art teacher, though he primarily teaches music. 4/5 of his classes for each day are music-based, and in my AU there are more teachers that also lend a land in those classes (imagine like 2-3 teachers per subject with different classes).

Ezra hasn't been working at NRC for very long, at least in fae terms of the passage of time. He has been working there for three years, and it is his first teaching job. On top of being pretty much the most easygoing teacher at NRC, some of the other staff has looked down on him because of this.

Regardless of his mannerisms, he is very talented and dedicated to the arts, and he cares a LOT about his students to the degree of almost coming off as parental.
