‘Varda’ es una marca multimillonaria, lo que le permite hacer grandes donativos a campañas políticas a cambio de favores. Pero sus grandes ingresos se deben también a la evasión de impuestos durante la importación de telas, pues aunque son de buena calidad, son de contrabando.  

También funciona como un gran sistema de lavado de dinero, pues algunos familiares han inyectado grandes cantidades de billetes en efectivo provenientes del narcotráfico. Ella se hace la loca con esto porque es corrupta pero no tanto *el Padrino agrees*
