19. What were your character’s deepest disillusions? In life? What are they now?

Ah, this asshole. The first thing he lost faith in was his people. They let so many useless bureaucrats tell them how to live their lives it was disgusting. And then they sat there and did nothing while those in people slaughtered everyone. Just because they could.

He’s still extremely disappointed in his people but now that he’s in power he hates that they literally cannot live without some sort of “king of the mountain”. But at the same time he revels in it. Especially the control he has over those “worthy” of becoming a Skil.

Dude I love you so much! Sending me asks and shit... (TBH I have no clue how much my virus actually know about the 99 because I haven’t even thought about that yet so imma just describe them in character)

Jett-- A mentor? Um... I don’t know... Somebody who’s gonna help me figure out how to control my powers and stuff I guess.

Emery-- Laid back all-around cool dude. Doesn’t play by the rules. Someone like Jett. And somebody who won’t get pissed if I skip class to play with the band.

Isabelle-- I don’t really care who it is as long as they’re nice.

Avia-- Calm, collected, smart stylish, and driven. In other words someone who is just like me. We would get along perfectly.

Kelly-- Whoever it is they have to be fun! They need to be nice and easy to get along with. Won’t care if I drink. Fun, a good teacher, and let us spar a lot. Gotta use Bas Dubh often or she gets a little cranky, you know? Fun. Oh, oh, oh somebody who likes adventure and would take us on field trips! Did I mention fun?

Holland-- Not too pushy about me using my powers. Someone friendly and nice.

Walker-- Whoever it’s gonna be they better not try to get to know me. My life outside of this school is my business. Nobody else’s.

Scribe-- They can’t be loud. Can’t be loud. Somebody who isn’t going to get mad when I repeat myself. No yelling. I don’t like loud people.

Scribe has a label maker so she can put her name on her belongings. She walks up to Izzy and sticks a label on her hand and walks away. The label reads “Friend.” Isabelle has an emotional meltdown.

Okay um I feel like you’re reading my mind cos it’s freaky how accurate some of this shit is!! I made a list of the things Scribe owns recently. Like I was doing it for everyone but here’s hers:

But yes. She would label Isabelle as a friend and Isa would have a meltdown. Like in a good way? And then Holland is trying to cheer her up and she just cries “Scribe labeled me!”

Holland is so confused. It takes them a good ten minutes to get Isa to say something coherent.

Isabelle tries to give her new teammates (aka new best friends because dammit she’s gonna make some) nicknames. She calls Holland “Holly” and that goes pretty well. She call Jett “Jay” and that’s fine. She even manages to call Walker “Walker Texas Ranger” and they don’t seem too bothered. She tries to think of a nickname for Scribe, and goes with “Scribbles.” It sounds cute but Scribe reacts so negatively towards it that Izzy panics and refuses to give her little sea horse a nickname.

Well the nickname person of the team is actually Jett…

Jett is called Je (totally pronounced like Jay I just had to spell that way cos I’m weird)

He calls Mazarin “Maz”

Emery gets called “Em” or “Beck”

Kelly gets called “Kell”

Isabelle gets called “Isa”

Avia gets called “Av” (which is pronounced like cave but without the c”)

Walker is definitely called “Walker Texas Ranger” because it’s too damn perfect to not call them that!

Holland is called “Holly” or just “Holl”

Scribe is actually called “Scri” because that’s what her dad used to call her & it was the only thing she would accept as a nickname.

Scribe says “fuck” for the first time. Avia screams and tries to strangle Emery.

Oh no no no Isabelle would be the one to do the strangling.

Avia would be watching this happen from the couch as she paints her nails and say something like “I advised him against this just so you’re aware.”

Isabelle straight up tackled Emery to the floor. At first Emery struggles against her just to save himself. But then he’s like “fuck it im no match for her” and gives in. Walker comes into the room to this and falls to the floor laughing.

9. Do you believe in luck?

Sort of... I don’t think luck is an everyday kind of thing if that makes sense.

But there’s enough people out there who have gotten to where they are solely because of a right place at the right time scenario while others have worked as hard as they possibly could and are still where they started. Those people, the ones who shouldn’t be where they are, had to have had some sort of luck.

Things such as lucky rabbit’s foot and lucky number seven? Superstitious kinds of luck? Or like that whole i found a penny on the ground its my lucky day thing?

That’s total bullshit in my opinion.

10. What’s your favourite 80s movie?

It’s a tie between Breakfast Club and Footloose. (There’s a ton of 80s movies I’ve been meaning to watch but I haven't gotten around to them...)

HP House Asks

Kelly, Isa, and Holland are all cuddle bugs. (So I guess that’s like half of the team..)

Kelly gives nice, warm, hugs.

Isabelle is very touchy feely. She gives hugs to people all the time. First time meeting her? You get a hug. Going home? You get a hug. Something good happened? You get a hug. Something bad? You get a hug. She’s like Oprah the way she hands out hugs. Length and feel of the hug depends on why the hug is being given.

Holland is a happy person, ya know? Very friendly and out going. But they do not know when to let go sometimes. They give good hugs don’t get me wrong. They just don’t stop.

Outside of the team all of the Leach family, except Jett, are extreme cuddlers and huggers. Amondre gives big, long, bear hugs. The kind that just envelope you in love and warmth, ya know?

Momma Leach gives nice hugs.

Now, Maz… She gives you those excited little kid hugs. The kind that squeeze your body and make you feel like your bones are breaking.

I’d love for you to explain what your Norse story is about. Promise I’ll tell you about my Greek stuff :p

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Forgive me for a second here while I ramble my dude.

(Just as an fyi Lies We Live is still in the idea stages.)

But basically it’s like a combination of Norse myth and a fantasy epic like LOTR. All the characters are incarnations of a specific Norse god and their arc in the overall plot reflects that god’s arc in the Prose Edda. I haven’t figured out the overlying plot yet.

For now the story is told by Saga (goddess of stories) but I’m debating on changing it to a POV thing with Loki & Thor.

Every single Norse god who plays a big role in Norse myth is going to be in the story in some way. We have the big guns: Thor, Odin, Loki, Tyr, Baldr, Freyja. But I also have the lesser big players: Idunn, Sigyn, etc... Some of the characters are combinations of a main god and a lesser god or more than one lesser god.

For example Hávarðr Silje is a combo of Heimdall and Höðr. I did this because Höðr plays such a small role in Norse myth it doesn’t make sense to keep him as a full character. But his role is important to both myth and the story.

All of the characters’ personalities are true to the myths. Some of their looks are my own interpretation because so much of Nordic written mythology and history was destroyed by the British. But I am debating on doing a Peter Pan scenario with Nyfrid Frisk (Idunn) or just making her a straight up child.

So for instance Brenna Karlsen is explicitly genderfluid. They usually go by Bren because it’s more gender neutral than feminine. Bren has ginger hair, freckles, natural androgynous features and dresses rather extravagantly. They are sassy as ever. I gave Bren a feminine first name and a patronymic last name as a slight allusion to who they really are which is Loki. (In actual Norse myth Loki has a masculine first name and a matronymic last name.)

As for setting it’s taking place somewhere between 793–1066 AD (haven't figured exactly when just yet).

Main place setting is Scandinavia. But each of the later settings will be a real life location that corresponds to one of the Nine Realms. Scandinavia will be Midgard as it was home to the Vikings. Helheim will most likely be the North Pole since it’s all icy and cold.
