What even is the origin of Domo? Is it really that one duck life game?

oh i actually know this!! :D どーもくん or Domo kun is a mascot for japan’s NHK tv network. they made him in the late 90s as a character in stop motion animated shorts. he was pretty popular, so they started using him in those little “you’re watching disney channel!” type things in between shows ☆link: example domo short foar u! ☆

the name domo comes from the greeting ど—も、こにちは which is kinda like “hello everyone/hello there!” like people would say when greeting a tv audience, but can also be understood as “hello Domo!”

domo was pretty big/well known in japan where they were actually broadcasting his media and spread outwards via the internet, the biggest impact being this old ass meme:

yeah weird af i know xD this was around the time the internet really stated growing and japanese media was becoming more accessible + well known to the average internet user. pop culture trends at the time began taking cues from anime style ‘cutesy’ mascot characters and art, stuff like hello kitty, tokidoki (not japanese but took heavy inspiration) pikachu, etc. so i guess our little guy was kinda in the right place at the right time guy and he sort of went viral? anyway yeah however it happened domo became super popular, purely based on him being a weird lil guy/memes of him made on the western internet. he got a stop motion tv show made by NHK and nickelodeon and a manga was published and everything

as the trend for kawaii style mascots and media faded so did domos popularity outside of japan but ofc a lot of people still recognise him even if they have no idea where he comes from :3

The Complete Henituse Family Tree (Headcanon)

At some point after the war with the White Dandruff, Cale gets around to revealing his transmigration secret as well as the conversation with Kim Rok Soo aka OG!Cale.

Much to his surprise, everyone took it well. For one thing, most who knew Cale only met him well after he transmigrated, so they were quick to get over their shock.

The Henituse family, however...

Despite their grief and regrets over not being able to make amends with Kim Rok Soo, Violan, Basen, and Lily were quick to accept Cale as another member of their family. They take comfort in the fact that Kim Rok Soo has moved on and has now found his own happiness in Korea.

Deruth, on the other hand, quietly excused himself, saying he needs more time to come to terms with this revelation. It's not that he's rejecting KRS!Cale as his son. On the contrary, he's grown to love and cherish him like he's always meant to be his child.

It's just that the revelation that the original Cale, now Kim Rok Soo, is now somewhere far away where he can't reach. And now the opportunity to fix his relationship with his oldest son is now forever out of his reach.

The following week, a sleep-deprived and manic Deruth bursts out of his office with a packet of paperwork in hand with an announcement to make.

Turns out, he only needed to sleep on the latest info bomb Cale had dropped before deciding a solid 8 hours later that Deruth motherfucking Henituse has 4 children! Kim Rok Soo, Cale, Basen, and Lily in that exact order. Now all that's left is to forge a foolproof paper trail to make it that Kim Roksu Henituse had always existed.

Which is what he spent the next six days on nonstop.

Lily is ecstatic that she can officially call Kim Rok Soo her first orabeoni and brag about how awesome he is.

Basen took out the pen Cale gifted to him a long time ago and got to correcting Deruth's grammatical errors.

Violan wasted no time in contacting the best painter Roan has to offer to include Kim Roksu's portrait with everyone else's.

While all this is going on, Cale couldn't help but feel happy for Kim Rok Soo. A weight has been lifted from his shoulders. Even before he woke up as Cale Henituse, he couldn't help but feel that OG!Cale was a lonely person just by reading between the lines of his backstory in TBOAH. Now that the truth is out, and his soul-swapped partner is getting the recognition and acknowledgement he deserves.

Now both Cales, past and present, can say they've found where they truly belong.

Meanwhile, On and Hong made a comment wondering if their adoption into the Molan family will be as chaotic and complicated as this. Let's hope Ron and Beacrox don't run into as much trouble.

Speaking of adoption...

Cale hesitates for a whole even minute and asks if his kids averaging 9-years-old want to be officially adopted into the Henituse family. Last he checked, it's not illegal in the Henituse Duchy for Beastfolk and Dragons to be adopted by humans. He found that out when looking into the legality of making Lock and his 10 siblings his wards. The rest of the Roan Kingdom, however...

Well, if anything issues does come up, he'll just call up Alberu to cut out the middleman. His kids would be get all pouty if they can't introduce themselves as On Molan Henituse, Hong Molan Henituse, and Roan Miru Henituse moving forward.

Everyone freezes.

Welp, time to adjust the Henituse family tree again.

So the story goes Kim Roksu Henituse is the oldest of Deruth Henituse and Jour Thames. However, he was born not only out of wedlock but very early during their courtship when they weren't even out of their teens. Kim Roksu was raised in secret for his own protection, knowing how malicious Deruth's extended family would be if they knew about his existence. Once Kim Roksu turns 18, he decided to become a freelance mercenary by trade, later losing contact with his parents by the time his baby brother, Cale, was born.

At some point in his journeys and adventures, he stumbles across Arm. Taking a risk, he infiltrates the terrorist organization and finds out about the White Son of a Bitch and his plans to become a god and destroy the world. Unfortunately, he was discovered and the White Radish kills him, but not before he was able to pass on the information to his now 18-year-old younger brother, Cale, who would use his knowledge to stop Arm's plans and defeat the White Copycat once and for all.

Kim Roksu Henituse left this world at age 36. An unsung hero, and arguably, the first unofficial casualty in Cale Henituse's personal war against the White Wannabe. One man paid the ultimate price in order to give the world a fighting chance, and his gamble paid off.

His sacrifice will never be forgotten if the Henituse family has anything to say about it.

It's about as canon as the character introductions can be considered, so vaguely?

I do know that it's a widely accepted headcanon, one I believe in as well, but I personally wouldn't consider the character introductions to be 100% canon. I think they are more dubiously or vaguely so, but it has been stated in official material so, take that as you will, anon. :>

Clare is mischaracterized a lot lowkey because I think people love Clare for being an anxious lesbian so much that they instinctively craft a more palatable version of that trait onto her and it’s a shame because Clare is a fascinating little beastie. She is childhood friends with the likes of Erin and Michelle for a reason after all. She is arguably just as selfish as Erin /affectionate and just as impulsive as Michelle /affectionate it just is formed around the insane molten hot anxiety disorder inside her little lesbian brain. She thinks she’s better than them when in reality she is just as bad.

I’d argue she stays selfish /affectionate longer than Erin does. Until the final two episodes I fully believe Clare would have sold any of them up the river for a corn chip if that corn chip would save her skin. It’s often said that Clare and James hold the single brain cell but I think the truth is likely that Orla holds it and they just forgot to use it or hand it to someone cause they were going ham on a bag of sweets.

If you hate Erin for her selfish traits and just kinda forget that Clare is just as bad then idk what to tell you they’re birds of a feather.

A speculation about just how loyal and wonderful a friend Miles is:

We know that:

- Miles and Lana worked on an album together that is currently collecting dust in some basement

- Alex’s and Taylor’s breakup was (for whatever reason) very unpretty

- Alex and Miles are very close friends (at that time potentially best friends; or more)

- Taylor and Lana are really close friends

Here comes the speculation part:

I’m assuming that no matter what occurred between Alex and Taylor, Miles sided with Alex and Lana got on Taylor’s side simply because that’s how friendships work. Consequently Miles and Taylor also had a falling out with each other. Hence Miles and Lana stopped hanging out with each other, to either respect their hurt friends or maybe the dissension between Alex and Taylor and by association Miles and Lana was so big as to also put an end to Miles and Lana’s friendship. Either way by extension they halted all work on their shared album and never resumed it nor are there any signs that they ever plan to.

So by standing by his friend and supporting him, whether he was in the right or wrong, Miles (most likely knowingly) sacrificed a huge career jump. Cause let’s be honest had that album ever seen the light of day he would have gained thousand if not millions of followers just by association with Lana. And would now potentially play to tens of thousands of people instead of two thousand. And would have probably been able to finally break into the American market and do US tours.

Yeah I know that having your friends back is natural for most friendships but considering what was on the line for Miles he could have very well mostly stayed out of the drama and only quietly sided with Alex. But well he just ain’t that kind of friend. 110% there.
