[ID: Black and white comic of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. The comic starts with the sounds "thud, thud, click". Vash, mid-action of peeling an apple, turns to the sound, noticing who it was that entered, and says, "Oh, Wolfwood, you're back." He resumes back to his apple in the next panel as he speaks, "Where'd you go? You snuck out of bed quickly this morning..." Wolfwood's hand then enters the panel, hovering over Vash's cheek and Vash looks up as Wolfwood asks, "Can I?" Vash responds, "Not going to talk about it?" while using a hand to gently hold Wolfwood's hovering hand and presses a kiss to his inner palm.

Vash then gets up fully, setting down the knife down on the table and the apple onto a plate, He leans into Wolfwood as Wolfwood explains, "Had to meet someone. Nothing interesting to talk about." Vash kisses Wolfwood's left cheek and a hand moves to cup his other cheek while muttering, "You're being vague." Wolfwood says neutrally, "If yer really that curious, keep askin'. We  can talk about that instead of doing this." Vash leans back and responds, "Let's talk after, since... You look so tired."

The panel pans to a close up of Wolfwood's downcast eyes, bags heavy underneath his eyes. He doesn't allow Vash to sit in that moment for long though, then saying, "Yer not helping, Spikey. Being all slow with it... I could fall asleep right now." He moves his hand to start unclasping Vash's coat, starting from his collar. Vash with red cheeks, responds briskly, "Oh, shut up. I'm worried about you. I can't be worried?"

The final shot shows Wolfwood's back to the viewer while Vash's softened expression can be seen as he holds gently onto the side of Wolfwood's face and a hand firm on his waist. Wolfwood responds, "I'm fine, seriously," pausing for a moment before continuing, "Is it okay to still..?" Vash responds, "Yeah, it's okay."

The next image is a shot from later that night after the previous comic. Vash and Wolfwood are now in bed, half naked. Wolfwood's buries his face into Vash's chest, his arms wrapped around him, while Vash is petting at his hair. Vash reminds him, "Hey. You said we'd talk about it." Wolfwood pauses for a moment before piping up, "In the morning? I'm sleepy." Vash says, "Okay..."

The next two pages start from the morning after. Wolfwood is already fully awake, pulling on his outer jacket as he says to Vash, whos' still bundled in his blankets, "Breakfast is on the table. Make sure to eat it. I'm going to grab some things in town and then we're leavin'. Got it?" Vash says, "Mh." Wolfwood responds, "Good. See ya in a bit." The dialogue starts to shift into Vash's inner thoughts now, as he gets up and eats toast, thinking, "Wait. Weren't we supposed to... talk about it?" The next shot then shows him fully up, meeting Wolfwood in town. He carries a half worried expression with him while Wolfwood slides on his glasses for him. A quick panel shows Wolfwood's tired expression from the night before and quickly juxtaposes with Wolfwood in front of him who's smiling gently, the shades covering his eye bags. Wolfwood asks him, "Still not awake yet?" Vash pauses, his thoughts stirring, thinking, "Oh. I guess I was getting ahead of myself... thinking you owe me that kind of honesty." He smiles at Wolfwood and responds, "I'm awake!" His thoughts continue, "Maybe one day, you'd trust me enough to share your burdens."

The final image shows Wolfwood pulling at Vash's cheek and Vash complains, "Owwwww why..." Wolfwood quickly says, "You were thinking something stupid, right? It's all over yer face." Vash mutters, "Nooo, I wasn't..." END ID]

Thinking about the ghost outside of the church of pilgrimage again. The walking mausoleum cradles the soulless body of a demigod. Marika, he is your unwanted son. With the dlc out we know of an unwanted son of Marika’s, however Messmer is very much alive if incredibly unwell. We also know of actually two soulless corpses but only one of them is a he, and that’s Godwyn. So Godwyn is Marika’s unwanted son? I have a handful of theories that actually all come to meet at this point and it’s actually driving me crazy I need a Godwyn dlc yesterday

I love it when "they should be at the club" is like, an actual character dynamic, with person A looking at person B as they work themselves to the bone/throw their own happiness away for the greater good/take on more responsibility than anyone could ever hope to bear and they're just like. Anyway I feel like it kinda gets glossed over that Knives was a child when he caused the big fall and idk I think that's kind of important because he's lived with that for over 100 years and just like Vash has lived with knowing the people he loves and fights for don't see him or his kind as anything more than a tool at best or a monster at worst, Knives has most definitely lived with knowing he's the leading reason why this system has remained in place

CREATURES IN GENERAL OR SEA CREATURES. BECAUSE MY FRIEND MONTY N I WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT TRIGUN FURSONAS THE OTHER DAY. but i am the sea creature guy at heart so im gonns give u those i hope that is ok 😌 there are many benefits to being a marine biologist.

Vash: he is... so very shark coded to me. everyone looks at him and sees a dangerous killing machine. frequently covered in scars. do u see the connection here. he is specifically a thresher shark to me because of the whole sharpshooter thing and also the sad sad puppydog eyes 💙

Wolfwood: i am torn between two different types of eels for him. giant morays are more aesthetically pleasing but personally i have to go with a wolf eel both for the name and because ive worked with these guys before and theyre sooooo cool so im biased

Meryl: not technically a sea creature because she is just so bird coded to me. White-Tailed Tropicbird

Milly: is it cheating to have two cephalopods on this list. because i think i really want to say giant pacific octopus for milly. either that or a whale shark 💙 yes those are two completely different animals no i will not be taking criticism at this time

Hi! As someone who now kinda wants to check out Trigun because of the hype, do you recommend that I can start with Stampede? Or do I really need to watch the OG anime first to better understand/enjoy it? Thank you! 🙋🏻‍♀️

you can start with stampede! i'd say knowing the context of the original enhances the experience but isn't necessary to enjoy the show. I would consider stampede more viewer-friendly, especially for those of us who are used to modern storytelling conventions (the original suffers the consequences of general writing trends in anime at the time it was produced and of the fact that it was produced long before the manga was finished, so the story is somewhat disjointed and has a lot of filler which makes it REALLY hard to get into.) if you do end up liking stampede, however, I'd suggest trying out watching at least SOME of the original because it adds a lot of cool nuance and context to the story that stampede tells!

a fake screenplay fic for the day 5 prompt (fortune) of the DZZS Lunar New Year mini prompt fest! i hadn’t been sure i was going to write anything for today, but i knew if i did, i wanted to bring in JBY’s fake fortunetelling gig from Qi Ye. i orginally was writing it as regular prose but dialogue only, and then i got tired of trying to telegraph blocking and switched to this. if you don’t count the speaker tags, it comes in at a nice solid 243 words 😎

[WEN KEXING and ZHOU ZISHU are sitting at a small table. They have a jar of wine and cups in front of them, but they’re paying more attention to each other than to drinking.]

WEN KEXING: A-Xu, should we get married? Oh, but we’d have to consult a fortuneteller first, wouldn’t we. Where would we even find one?

ZHOU ZISHU: There’s one right here.

WEN KEXING: What?

ZHOU ZISHU: (turns to look over his shoulder) Qi Ye!

[JING BEIYUAN and WU XI sit across the courtyard, heads bent together, ignoring the other two until ZHOU ZISHU speaks.]

JING BEIYUAN: Surely you haven’t forgotten all your propriety out here in the jianghu. There’s no need to yell.

WEN KEXING: A-Xu, you must be joking. Him?

ZHOU ZISHU: He spent a whole season telling fortunes in the capital once.

[JING BEIYUAN crosses to the table.]

JING BEIYUAN: I did, I did, it’s true. What sort of divination would Wen-gongzi like done? I know you are well-settled in love, but perhaps a prediction for health or the outcomes of the next year?

WEN KEXING: I don’t need any predictions from you.

JING BEIYUAN: A shame. My talents, wasted again.

ZHOU ZISHU: Getting cold feet, Lao Wen?

WEN KEXING: (quietly) Never.

JING BEIYUAN: Ah, I see. Well, consider this a gift: I hear five days from now is a very auspicious date for a marriage.

WEN KEXING: You made that up—

ZHOU ZISHU: (interrupting) Why five days?

JING BEIYUAN: Because we have to leave in six. Wouldn’t it be good to have friends at your wedding, Zishu?

[ZHOU ZISHU shakes his head in disbelief, smiling.]

ZHOU ZISHU: I suppose it would.

idk exactly what ur asking for so sorry if this isn't touching on the points u want BUT! they meet their "freshman" year fall semester idk what school system they're using whatever they're annoying and thirteen years old

i think meisters and weapons have to be paired together by some rule or smt so vash is roomed with livio and knives is paired w/ just someone in the NOT class which happens to be legato. they do not get along at first (legato "male living space" bluesummers roomed w/ knives "absolutely fucking not" millions). they do warm up to eachother over the course of the year because of the fact that they're constantly in eachother's space in their tiny dorm apartment thing if nothing else.

by the time the second fall rolls around the two of them are civil with eachother. they both test into the EAT class that semester— that being said, finding knives a partner is an Ordeal. both because his 1st weapon form (more on that later) is insane and difficult to use (esp if u like have any formal training in anything) and because he's a little judgy and he's blunt and his track record of first impressions is abysmal . so he and legato are kind of stuck with eachother (legato could have gotten another partner but ugh moving dorms) (and he enjoys knives's company)

the two of them stagnate for a while when they're new. knives wants to push for harder missions to catch up with vash who's well on his way to making livio into a death scythe, but he can't actually let legato do what he needs to on his end (backseat driver) and they hit a wall until he can actually trust legato .

they do make a good pair, though. legato goes through with knives's overarching plans and thinks quickly when it comes to ripples in the fabric. they do well together for a few years. during this time is when vash kinda fumbles with the witch's soul and livio decides the EAT class isn't worth it, so vash is paired with wolfwood instead (yippee)

by the time they're like seventeen, they're nearly there. vash and wolfwood are at the same hurdle and their witch's soul is right before them, and where livio and knives succeed vash and wolfwood fail. knives does not take it well not so much because because they're not at the same spot but because over these years vash has been beaten and bested and he has lost and he is being torn to shreds in the name of creating a death scythe and nobody else seems all too concerned. it makes him think about the aftermath of vash's first failed witch's soul where vash literally lost his arm and about what he saw in the basement and knives can't accept the fact that he himself is a death scythe under the same organization responsible for that, that hasn't changed at all.

so he and legato disappear (yeah. he chooses to follow knives in this even now), and a number of death's marked targets for students or otherwise are neutralized by the time anyone associated with the DWMA arrives. he and vash don't see eachother for years after that (around canon times ehehehejweioww (to me canon is in 2004 to make it simpler))

i'll elaborate about tessla when i flesh that part out more but for rn all u need 2 know is she was like a bad day and a prayer away from becoming a kishin and the DWMA kinda abandoned her OK? ok cool bye

Ho ho ho I always love your comments! The finale seemed to provoke a lot of feelings in people which is always nice. You can never really tell until it's published - and there's some feelings that are pretty blind to you as a writer. Is this intriguing, or is this infuriating? Is the character compelling, or are you sick of him? Are the characters being too harsh? Is he being too much of an idiot? Many questions.

Something about the story I didn't include...I didn't say much about the Gung Ho Guns. As established, Legato is his best friend and worships Vash in a more intimate way than in canon. He's the only person alive who knows exactly what Vash is doing when he manipulates him and is very chill about it. I think he understands Vash better than anybody, which is kind of funny considering how that's true and he still worships him. The rest of the GHG are Vash's lackeys that he uses to handle 'bad' guys he doesn't like. Kind of like the Power Rangers. He has to wrangle them a lot because most of them are still murder obsessed and Vash only likes mass murder when he's the one doing it.

Oh, and the north of the planet is irradiated with highly toxic nuclear radiation that mutates people. That's my explanation for why some characters are Like That. I give an explanation because it's funnier than refusing to worldbuild.

Soooo at the risk of sounding insensitive… what happened that night when you and knives… made out. Like did you start it or did she start it or?

Good grief... how did you even hear about that? I seriously doubt Knives is talking about it, but yeah, here we go, since that's apparently just. Out there now. Fuck's sake... I'm drinking to cope with thinking about this one, but I'll answer you while I'm still clear headed first.

Honestly? I can barely remember a good chunk of that night. After we got back from the beach and kept drinking, it gets sort of blurry for me? I was already pretty wasted when we got back to house, anyway.

I think I noticed Knives go skulking off by herself upstairs at some point, and I was... concerned. I mean, we'd been letting her drink with us, and I don't know if that was her first time or what, but I didn't want her to be sick all by herself if it was. That shit sucks, and I don't think anyone else was gonna step up to be there for her.

She wasn't sick though anyway, she'd just needed a breather- and apparently some advice. I remember her practically dragging me to the floor so we could sit and talk about one of my least favorite topics- Scott. Well, boys generally at first, but I knew she wanted to be talking about him, so in a very embarrassing move on my part, I decided to talk to her about Scott and I a little.

She seemed to really appreciate it, at least. But then...

Ugh, I seriously feel so disgusting trying to parse through this again...

I don't know who started it. I mean, she was complimenting me before and stuff, so maybe it was her? But I just have this sinking pit in my stomach that it was me. Talking about Scott and our history always messes me up, bad. And having to see him and Ramona suck faces and be all over one another doesn't help in the slightest, obviously. I would've been pent up enough to snap from that alone, I just... I guess until then, I hadn't been concerned about being capable of something like that. Or maybe I just assumed I'd never be caught dead drinking with a seventeen year old, let alone...

*Kim lets out a very long sigh and hangs her head back for a bit, thinking.*

Things have been a little awkward with her since, at least for me. The way we talk sometimes, I don't even know if she remembers it. I mean, I barely do! I probably had a lot more to drink than she did, though. But I like Knives, really- she's fun and she's sweet, and she genuinely cares about our music. If she can behave like nothing happened, I can do the same no problem. I like having someone that isn't a meathead to talk to during practice, so if she's not running, screaming, for the hills, then I'll honor that, no matter how exhausting it may end up...
