Tolys: I'm not terribly religious, but there is a certain comfort in having someone looking out for you.

Just a brief overview of the saints Lovino and Tolys mentioned. St. Agatha of Sicily was a Christian noblewoman who was killed during the Decian persecutions. She made a religious vow of chastity that a Roman prefect attempted to break. As punishment for rejecting him she was imprisoned and forced to "work" in a brothel. When this did not break her, she was tortured, most notably by having her breasts ripped off with hot tongs. This is why she is often depicted in art with tongs or presenting her breasts. A miraculous earthquake prevented her execution and supposedly St. Peter appeared to her and healed her wounds, but she eventually died in prison of unknown causes. Among other things, she is the patron saint of victims of torture, rape victims, breast cancer patients, fires, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions (particularly from Mt. Etna). In doing this, he helped a small child across the river who was much heavier than he anticipated, and almost died in the process. After crossing, the child revealed himself to be an apparition of Christ, pleased with his work. Christopher was eventually beheaded after travelling to Lycia to help his fellow Christians. Among other things, he is the patron saint of travelers, transportation, bachelors, athletics, and storms. As Tolys mentioned, he is the patron of Vilnius, Lithuania's capital (Riga as well!)

He’s never really known anything different. At one point he did have the stereotypical little kid “I’d like a little brother” attitude, but by the time Brigid was born he’d grown out of it. It also was sort of his norm- Cat would still be trying to make sure he wasn’t dying every other week if she were a brother, Felice would still be his partner in crime, Brigid and Maria would still be his lil buddies, etc. At the end of the day, the important roles his sisters hold in his life aren’t necessarily gendered. On top of that, Seb is a mama’s boy and his parents have a very loving, equal relationship. Aside from being very attached to her, he’s never perceived there to be anything his mother couldn’t do, and Lovino never had that doubt about Molly either. If anything, Lovino encouraged that faith because he clearly always had faith in her. Seb’s had a bit of a model for how to perceive and treat his female family members from day one.

That’s not to say he doesn’t wish he had more male friends, or that he isn’t affected by gendered conventions at all. Depending on the time period of the AU, he’s the heir, which has its own connotations and pressures. Lovino still impressed on him that as the brother (and especially as one of the eldest), he has a duty to protect his sisters. Sebastiano is fully aware his sisters can hold their own, but he still feels that sense of obligation to them pretty strongly. He has a sense of care about him, granted in a softer way. His sisters also 100% make him do stuff like kill bugs or take out the garbage, because even if they can do it, they don’t want to. Regardless, he does have a bit of a feminine side because of all this. So him taking care of “masculine” tasks looks a lot like this:

In short: Sebastiano loves his sisters, sometimes he wishes he had more male friends and didn’t have the pressures he does, but he generally is just used to being The Boy™

**Historical Note: There were a lot of practices for dealing with fairies in Ireland. For Rusmano I usually have them grow closer during WW2 (most of my early RPs were in this time period) with Romano handling a double-role as a partisan allied to communists and spy pretending to be on the axis side.

If that's too heavy, in modern AU they're usually absolute goons tbh (bonus points if the fighting and hijinks involve an American love interest that's Not That Aware or Available atm)

Good ideas 👀 I usually have more of a preference for modern day settings when it comes to my smut. I don't have much interest in using historical aspects bc I don't think I could write it to a level I would be satisfied with and I'm more of a pwp kinda guy anyways.

I like the idea of the two dummies vying for America's attention and using different methods to get closer. Alfred doesn't notice shit; giving Romano space bc he doesn't think he likes him and turning down Ivan for hangouts bc he doesn't take him seriously for all the out of pocket things he's said over the years. They would try to compete with each other but boil over in frustration and commiserate together with their failures. Nothing beats the good old story of "let's get drunk and fuck to forget everything".
