Hi, yes I use procreate! (Sorry I’m literally answering this a month late…) But here’s a link to my earlier post about this!

It’s literally my entire main brush set. Every single artwork I’ve posted on this tumblr has been dependent on this set, including my comics, and illustrations regardless of how different in style they look. I do have other brushes which are specific to creating more realistic backgrounds, but I typically just use the traditional brush and warp it for texture. 😂

If you guys want my entire asset of stamp, and texture brushes that I’ve stocked up like a hoarder, let me know! I also recently got a watercolor brush pack I really like, and I can share that too!

But other than that, the one brush I use most is my sketching brush, which I’ve just labeled “Sketch Rough”. I’m not that good at line art (people who can do line art are incredible), so this brush has been a life saver for me! I work with more of a painterly style, and I prefer not inking my sketches or tracing over them again. (Unless I want them cleaner… 😭) I tend to just draw my sketches then painting over or under it.

(It’s also slightly texturized! It’s still pretty clean to the point where you can still recognize what shapes you’ve drawn, but the texture adds a nice touch.)

what do you think drew dazai to ango in the dark era + do you have any thoughts on his feelings about him now?

I like to think of the Buraiha trio as this group of people that have absolutely nothing in common between each other, yet immediately click for some unknown reason. Maybe it's precisely the curiosity of knowing someone who's nothing like you, the yearning of getting to know them more and more which makes it so that you would never tire out of spending time with them. I think that's what Dazai used to feel towards Ango. I feel like Buraiha as a whole was a well balanced trio of people that enjoyed each other's presence; a so perfectly balanced combination where every member is equally fundamental to the group's standing, that losing even one person would immediately mean irreparably breaking the bond between all of them and would cause an equal great grief for everyone- which is what happened.

Dazai cared about his little safe place in Dark Era sooooooo much. And like, how could it have been any different. Here you have this young man who's been deeply lonely¹ his whole life, who infinitely struggles to connect with other people and who struggles to find a reason to live, finally having found a space where he can hang out with people he considers friends, who don't quite understand him but who still care about him and who he cares about back. Someone he can feel a little more light around. It was literally the first time this man found relief in his life, as well as likely the first time he ever experienced genuine happiness in his 18 years of life.

Of course Dazai despised Ango when he ruined that, when he chose his loyalty to the government over their friendship. Of course Dazai felt betrayed and can't forgive Ango for that. I do believe Dazai still loves Ango - because what the three of them shared at Buraiha was deep and unconditional -, but I don't think he can ever forgive him, and I don't think Dazai can ever be in good terms with Ango again. Though, their latest interactions in the manga quite contradict this, since Dazai didn't really manifest any hard feeling when cooperating with Ango, so who knows! ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭

It's kind of sweetly tragic how devoted Ango is to Dazai. He's willing to do anything, to be denigrated and hated to no end for Dazai, because he knows nothing will make up for what he's done, but he still feels like he's forever indebted towards Dazai for the loss he caused him. It's so contradictory, how Ango was willing to betray Dazai for the sake of the government, but is now going to betray the same government out of the guilt he feels towards Dazai; but it's also contradictory in the way humans are, you know?

¹ Before Buraiha, Dazai had Mori, and Chuuya. And although I think in different ways both lessened Dazai's loneliness, for different reasons and circumstances they weren't all around positive relationships like Buraiha was for him.

I live in northern California. We have rough skinned newts, And red bellied newts. ( And a few hybrids).

How long can they live?

It seems to me that there are fewer of them every year.

And very few Smaller ones.

( that humans added to the new ponds they built) rip the gills off a lot of the larva that hatch..

PS the bull frogs have invaded the ponds.. and the Native Red legged, and Yellow legged frogs Also seem less common.

Hey Anon, I'm sorry to say I am absolutely the wrong person to ask any of these questions. I may have general knowledge about reptiles and amphibian diversity and whatnot, but you are asking questions that require very specific knowledge. I know next to nothing about American herpetofauna, and certainly nothing about their growth or reproduction. What's more, I guarantee you that the answers to all or almost all of these questions are a short google/duckduckgo away.

i actually write almost exclusively human characters with homelander! it appeals to me more. i think it’s the human x monster lover in me. i really love exploring those kind of drastic power imbalances.

plus, the most interesting thing about homelander for me is how he’s physically the most powerful being in existence, but emotionally the weakest. it’s less interesting to me to pair him with someone who could physically stand against him or even out match him vs someone who has to rely on their emotional intelligence to maneuver any kind of dynamic/relationship with him.

the inherent precariousness and danger of that is just delicious to me. i especially find it interesting to explore given the “supe supremacy” path he’s jogging down. what kind of person does he make exceptions for? does he find them lacking? does he need them to be a supe to allow himself to fully love someone he’s become drawn to? it feeds so well into his conflict of craving love from the humans who have spurned and abused him while also seeing them as wholly beneath him.

that said i do like to pair him with supes occasionally. i’m just picky about the types of supe!

Finished up the latest Sherlock and Co adventure which I LOVED the Norwood Builder was always one of my favorites! And I feel like not many people cross the interests of the podcast and the premiere league but John is watching something at the end talking about the Arsenal v. do you ever get overwhelmed with all the asks you get? i feel like you get a whole lot, with many of them being repetitive or unnecessary lol. sometimes i feel bad sending an ask bc i don’t want to add to your swamped inbox.

I do sometimes need to whap my brain with a newspaper to make it drop the questions, and I am sometimes not successful at whapping it. Brain sees question, feels compulsive need to answer question.

But uh,

don't worry, I don't answer every question I get.

Anyway the reason I get repetitive questions is because the person who sent it didn't see it the last time it got asked—and you know and I know that a guy who got here 5 days ago is NEVER gonna find the answer 8 months and thousands of posts back; why would they even try to look if they don't already know it's been asked before? Heck—why would they even bother to look 2 weeks back if they don't already have any reason to assume their particular question came up that recently?

So I feel like it would be... idk, gatekeepy?? to just ignore repeat questions, like "ohoho, you don't already know? Well that's YOUR fault for not meticulously backreading every single post I've ever written just in case one of the 1,403 posts in my #bill goldilocks cipher tag already covers it! Why should I repeat myself for the second time in half a year! Guards, take this fool away!" It can be frustrating to be asked for the fourth time what Bill's voice sounds like, but like, it's not THEIR fault they didn't happen to see that it'd come up before.

And a lot of the asks I get give me an opportunity to expand on characterization & worldbuilding (like, I didn't bother to think out what Phrancisco's backing band looked like until I was asked about the concert) and show me what kind of questions need answering in fic, so I'd rather get the questions than not.

The only time I get truly annoyed is if the question's answered in my pinned post or if it's answered word-for-word in the very chapter they're asking about lmao.
