The fighting didn't end, just continued again and again. Adaine watched Fabian, the wind pulling at their clothes and armor.

He turned to her, raising an eyebrow at her. He couldn't munster his usual bravado, death and grief stripping that mask from him.

Emelin and Estrella made it all seem so complicated. She looked to the palace the reflection of her sycrying bowl, to the secret she'd taken from Achlys court room.

"I want to show you something if we survive this."

She wanted to see this with him, to go through that doorway with him - even if it didn't end with the hope she wanted.

Fabian cracked a smile and looked to the feild.

"Oh we will. We're going to be legends Adaine."

Fabian stared at the orb and looked back to Adaine. He swallowed, whatever they'd had dancing around the last eight years.

Was this the moment he was going to know if it was true or not?

Did he want to have the nail on that metamorphic coffin.

"Are you sure Adaine this is -"

"I will not become my sisters."

She gently cupped the ball with a peice of velvet keeping it from touching her skin. She moved to the couch, gesturing for him to follow.

"What's so wrong with what your sisters did? I think it's romantic."

She snorted, cupping the ball in the peice of velvet in her lap.

"They are chasing males who may or may not be their other half. Have is that romantic? To choose a male who is hurting them and using them for their power and bodies? Why risk that?"

Fabian sat next to her and stared at the orb and back to her.

"You want me to go first?'

She looked at it, inhaling and holding it one flufi motion. The orb swirled, showing a nigh sky filled with stars and planets, it was a beautiful sight. She swallowed, this was the sky of Asgardr, of the Daglan.

The view shifted to show a male, her heart quickened. He was an army, a navy. He turned to look at her and she nearly dropped it. There was a scar over his left eye from his eyebrow to just under his eye. He was smirked at something she must have said.

She glanced to Fabian, focusing on that mark and held the Orb of Cartias to him. Her fingers shook she was sure.

"Adaine?"

"Take it. See. See it too please."

The unsaid and the unknown, he watched her quietly as she looked into the orb and saw for herself what she was looking for. He understood her stance on this, he understood the desire to know and be sure. He knew the fear of what she faced, especially seeing what her sisters went through.

It wasn't just Estella and Emelin, had not most her sisters' romances and matings started off in some turbulence? If he remembered correctly the only one who seemed to be untouched was Ember, who had found Randal and had settled down. Even Hallariel had her rough start.

Fabian smiled when she looked to him, when she finally said the words. His hand reached out, fingers brushing against the back of her hand as to steady them before he went to take the orb from her.

He looked into the Orb, into the swirl of darkness before lights began to fill the sky. A night sky. A mirror of her own scene, instead this one was mirror. Instead of seeing from her perspective, he was seeing his. He was seeing her, and the way she always looked to him - beautiful and illuminated.

"Adaine..."

He‘s 100% a sub in season 1, too shy and not experienced enough. and later on, he will be a Switch. It depends on his mood I think. He will be dom to show his love and to impress their lover, because he loves seeing them enjoying what he can do. but when he‘s sad, he got a bad day or anything like that he will switch into sub mode. we will make him feel better, show him our love and how much he is worth to us, because he needs to know, especially in moments like this.

IT WAS HARMLESS, that’s what it was. hanging with your friends was supposed to be something that was relaxing, something that took your mind off of the troubles of the universe for a few minutes, not having you worried about your fiancée who looked like he was going to punch someone’s face in.

you tried to ignore it, keeping yourself occupied with a few of your friends. galen of course was sat next to you, but you didn’t acknowledge the looks he was giving one of your closest male friends.

“wow, y/n, did i tell you how hot you looked in that dress?” he slurred. he had to be joking. you shot him a look, one that told him he needed to buzz off.

“it was just a compliment,”

“a targeted one,” you acknowledged, perking up an eyebrow at him. galen was proud of you, not that he didn’t think you could stand up for yourself, but he was proud every time you defended yourself.

“how? i’ve had a few drinks my filter is obliterated right now,” your friend slurred, rolling his eyes, “besides, what’s he gonna do about it?” he just had to bring galen into it.

“you wanna find out?” galen threatened, his eyes promising the younger male in front of him of his threat.

“you know what? yes i do,”

“no you do not!” you shouted at him.

“you’re not technically married yet, so-” and that’s when your friends’ speech ended for the night with a right hook to the face. the bar you were at only stopped for a moment to see what had happened, but didn’t pay much attention to it.

“are you out of your kriffin’ mind?!” you whisper-shouted to galen as you watched your friend slump back down into the booth, cradling his cheek.

“what?” galen asked innocently. you shot him back a look, shaking your head. you tried to be serious, but you couldn’t help the growing grin on your face.

“even you’re smiling,” galen pointed out, which made you break out into a laugh. you felt bad for laughing at your friend, who was going to be dealing with a hefty bruise in the morning.

“it was kinda funny,” you directed at galen, “but you deserved it,” you redirected towards your friend, who was still too stunned to acknowledge you.

“i think that’s our cue to end our evening,” galen suggested to the group, who all collectively agreed, of course; why would they disagree with a guy who just punched someone?

“i agree,” you hummed. you waved goodbye to your friends, walking out with galen.

“i don’t think you needed to punch him, love,” you whispered to him as you walked out, grabbing ahold of his hand.

“eh, like you said, he deserved it,” you couldn’t help but grin at him, and even helped him to a small kiss.

I watched the new Thor trailer and looks like Olympus is going to be featured and my question is why people make the impression of Asgardr and Olympus as metropolis with tens of thousands of inhabitants??, When in reality, Olympus is just a Palace over the top of a mountain with maybe a hundred people (the king, the queen, the retinue and the children) living here.

Asgardr is at best a fortified city where the Aesir gather in their houses and the main palace is for Odin and his army (with maybe hundreds of people sure, if we take into account the dead who gather in Valhalla) but they not reach the tens of thousand/million population range.

It has always made me feel a little bit off.

Yeah that threw me off as well, when they do that.. For example, the Greek gods are not always on Olympos, and they usually gather 50 or something of them on a place. If you add their attendes the number goes close to 100. So, to be generous, and because many things happen in a palace, I'll say 500 people at most. For a mountain peak, that's a lot 😂😂😂 I don't know why they imagine Olympos as a whole town 🤷

You did the math for Asgard. I had the impression of a few thousand only because of the dead who gather to feast and fight.

I find asgardian aesthetic interesting ,  and it’s a constant on most asgardian blogs but I’m just gonna refer to my own ,  given that my influences come from  “ historical ”  shows like diriliş: ertuğrul .   it feels like a merging of different timelines ,  different worlds ,  that you wouldn’t think work together but complement each other beautifully .   medieval content meets sci - fi ,  and that’s Ásgarðr ,  babey .

they don’t have cars ,  but they have ships ,  and horses that can ride faster than the human eye can see ,  they don’t have phones ,  they have those gifted with all - sight that connect the Æsir to each other ,  allow them to share thoughts when necessary ,   to think as one and exist as one and draw strength from each other ,   without necessarily eliminating the individuality they have .   

they don’t have social media ,  but can communicate with the stars ,  the grass ,  the sun ,   the seas ,   everything based on powers and abilities .    they have healthcare and education beyond the average human’s understanding ,  and the ability to travel further than any human ,  with a single mode of transportation   ----    that is ,  if you classify the bifrost as transportation .    

they fight not with guns but with swords ,  axes ,  spears ,  shields   ----------   and yet the nature of their arsenal is otherworldly .  their armour is plain ,  simple ,  seemingly basic and yet it’s crafted from the strongest materials in the nine realms ,  extremely durable ,  inpenetrable .     I could go on .   I love the specificity of asgardian aesthetic though idk if it comes across like I mean it to in my head kjdhgkdjfhk
