THANKS TO HER (2020) dir. Sam McCoy Millie Blake has always been a perfectionist. A soccer star and straight A student, her main focus is on her future. So receiving a month of community service at a local nursing home, after trying to break up a fight at school - not how she pictured the start of her senior year of high school. To make matters worse, Millie is stuck working with the instigator of the fight: Andy Wellick, another senior student, who is outspoken about her identity as a lesbian on the asexual spectrum. Initially, the two girls butt heads, but the tension quickly blossoms into friendship and something more as they learn more about each other. (link in title)

Award-winning film about asexuality 'A Matter of Trust'

My short film 'A Matter of Trust' won Best LGBT Film at the Tokyo International Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Mabig Film Festival. It tackles some of the assumptions people make about asexuality, particularly that asexuals are all abuse survivors who are scared of sex.

Ace of the Week: Kim Minho

Two things that are commonly mixed up among allosexuals and baby aces is sexual attraction (what the defining trait of asexuality is) and sex drive (also known as libido, the biological urge to have sex).

Sexual Attraction is the targeted desire to engage in sexual activity with a particular person. This is a spectrum, and the one in which perhaps most of the asexual microlabels fall.

Libido is not targeted at anyone or anything. It's just the urge to feel sexual pleasure or release. This is the spectrum that also may get confused in the attempts at medicalizing and "treating" asexuality, because having low libido is often considered a disorder or a side effect of medications.

Sex favorability, another spectrum, is your personal stance on engaging in sex.

Sex positivity, the final spectrum discussed here, is your overall stance on sexual activity - whether by you or by anyone else.

^Just a quick correction about "Sex Positivity," a more accurate definition would be that people are free to have and enjoy as much consensual sex as they like (as said by CheCheDaWaff on Reddit).

ACE AND ANXIOUS (2017) dir. Bri Castellini Emma, an asexual graphic designer with generalized anxiety disorder, learns of the stress-reducing properties of sex, and decides to place an ad on Craigslist for a test sexual partner to determine if it will help with her panic attacks. (link in title)

One of the videos I'm most sad I can't find anymore is this short film that was called "Ace" and it was centered around some spies one of whose name was Ace, but naturally with a video titled just "Ace" it attracted a whole horde of Asexual people which took a turn of all of us going "Oh I thought this was gonna be about being asexual in some way" to "Cool spies no way!" The guy who posted it even acknowledge that before he didn't even know about the asexual community till after the video but that he owed the ace community for all the views, likes, and support he got
