Asarui and Sakunene would be so funny cause Asahi and Sakurako are childhood friends. so are Rui and Nene. imagine the amount of embarrassing stories that:

Asahi could tell Nene about Sakurako

Sakurako could tell Rui about Asahi

Rui could tell Sakurako about Nene

Nene could tell Asahi about Rui

and the thing is, Asahi and Rui would be spilling the girls' silly stories as harmless teasing, but Sakurako and Nene would both be like "oh, so this is war, huh" and absolutely mortify their respective childhood friends in front of the other boy

The emunene dynamic is always so good… they help each other so much… nene basically just cut herself off from the world and had zero faith in herself and emu barrels into her life and is the first time nene finds herself actually wanting to create a deeper connection. Also emu is just constantly hyping her up. Things with emu are so uncomplicated (emu is very genuine and straightforward) and nene doesn’t have to constantly second guess herself or be self conscious about her completely decayed social skills. And emu has felt like she needs to be all smiles all the time to keep group morale up with tsukasa being a ball of stress and rui very clearly keeping himself kinda closed off so if she shows doubts or negative emotions she’s terrified that’ll bring the group down. Nene didn’t even know emu was the princess and can see through emu’s acting and confronts her on it once she’s brought out of her shell and bit more. Love them…

& emu being able to help someone w the grief that has directed the course of her life and her actions/dreams… ough. My beloved pink creature that is the size of a microbe. Offering a hand out to meiko to get her out of that destructive cycle of grief that’s dragging everyone else down… encouraging meiko to heal instead of continually hurt herself and others with her grief…

+ the ruikasa dynamic has some au mandated changes but I think it’s necessary to include how different they are w each other as opposed to other people. Tsukasa feels less responsible for rui and is more willing to rely on him because he is incredibly competent and also makes tsukasa actually start having fun instead of constantly being paranoid that if he looks away emu will fall into a ditch and immediately die (she wouldn’t do that he’s just a freak) + rui feels a lot of freedom in interacting with someone who does not care abt the rumors, is just as driven towards his goals, also has a huge interest in theatre, and is like “your skills are actually sick as hell and you should show them off more. btw are you interested in men. Sorry. Are you interested in joining me. and emu. Haha typo! that’s so weird!” (“?? this is a verbal conversati-“ “great! glad you’re coming with us”)

Like the au is very wxs friendship first but the emunene/ruikasa is a little treat for me and the terminal wxs brain worms that guide my hands and this au.

Provided I actually do end up doing something with it it would require me abandoning the asarui/ruikasa shit show that I got through planning (& the emu & tsukasa intermission that got halfway written + emunene side story that lives in my head) and the nene & tsukasa bonding while tsukasa teaches her how to make chocolates for emu with eventual reveal in a part two where tsukasa enlists her help way later on for making something for rui but nene is too dense to realize this (‘you like rui???’ ‘Yes? I thought you knew?’ ‘no???????????’)

Which I am not opposed to doing because I enjoy abandoning my works. Fantasy au has less nene haterisms in it but I’m sure I can work some in there… recycle it into the au maybe.

Barebones plan is (emu pov) emu big escape and world building/lore (miku helping emu escape tsukasa for a bit) while tsukasa is having a truly awful time trying to hunt her down… emu heaven (freedom) can be tsukasa hell (emu is going to get herself killed and the king is going to fucking kill me) it’s a very efficient system -> (tsukasa pov) tsukasa lore/him being the most stressed out guy alive while emu attempts to get him to chill out a bit and meeting rui/getting him to join the gang -> (rui pov) a conversation btwn emu and rui while tsukasa is asleep where rui realizes he wants to stay with the group & emu is like normally tsukasa stays up all night to take watch when we camp somewhere I guess you make him feel more relaxed 😊 (rui who is constantly winding tsukasa up for funsies: ????) -> (rui pov) tsukasa getting injured and giving his good friends Issues. Emu and rui convo while tsukasa is unconscious part 2. -> (nene pov) rui what the fuck who are these people. Is the blond one dead. -> (nene pov) nene healing tsukasa sessions where he is uncooperative (keeps insisting he’s fine) and she has to restrain herself from giving him sleeping potions so he stops attempting to reinjure himself with emunene compilation in between sessions + nene and rui convo after ruikasa argument -> (tsukasa pov) full ruikasa beef that happened while emunene had a nice date and emu and Tsukasa conversation -> resolution of ruikasa beef + emunene “be open with us idiot” moment. -> ??? Idk. Kaimei divorce. I think the concept of kaito showing up to drop incredibly unhelpful information that makes wxs go on a wild goose chase is really funny like he’s definitely trying he’s just not very helpful and meiko does not want to be talked to -> emu pov for her talking to meiko. She has to do a lot of the talking on her own bc meiko specifically has a lot of hatred towards the otoris and separates emu from the rest of wxs. Emu convincing meiko that the only way to heal and move on from grief is to rely on your friends like she has and reminds meiko that even if Luka is gone, kaito/miku/kagamines are still there for her.

Kaito probably shows up at the end w the rest of wxs like my job is done :) (tsukasa: you barely did anything?? Kaito: 😌) emu gets to travel around with wxs more in the end while convincing her dad/brothers to change their ways. Etc. tsukasa gets to go back and see saki who is like ur friends are very fun and nice (w sincerity, really happy to see him) btw what’s going on with you and the purple one 😊 (while rui is in the room) (w malice, has not forgotten that he went on a dangerous journey & nene (unintentionally) snitched abt the almost dying thing) nene’s knowledge of herbs/potions also allows for her to create a treatment plan for saki that would allow saki to travel around w L/N without serious health concerns & tsukasa (who is very happy for saki but also always going to be worried) gets to experience 1/10th of the stress he put her through in the last months. As he should.

Would also like to fit in a meiko pov somewhere just so I can put Luka flashbacks in there as well as tsukasa writing letters to saki/getting a letter back after shiho tracks him down + rui and mizuki meeting again and her being like wtf is this the same rui kamishiro + Kaito speaking to wxs + miku and the kagamines + more on emu and her grandpa + wxs seeing vbs and Tsukasa going ??? Toya??? While akito and rui get off on the wrong foot catastrophically - technically wxs are wanted under the belief that they kidnapped emu & rui does not help by defaulting to “act mischievous and sinister around strangers”, akito cant arrest tsukasa without pissing toya off and also doesn’t think tsukasa is the kidnapping type, and nene “wet cat” kusanagi cannot possibly be the mastermind here. Emu: Me & my gang of clowns (we are all wanted by the government). Tsukasa and toya having a nice conversation catching up while akito assumes rui is playing 5d chess mind games & rui is Literally Just Standing There.

Also more ruikasa individual convos abt their pasts. Maybe that’ll go primarily in 2. Who knows I’m nothing if not annoying abt them. I think emunene get their shit together far faster than ruikasa (emu is too straight forward for that not to happen and ruikasa hype nene up enough that she says something) so I would probably need a 1 yr later time skip where they are forced to talk abt their feelings… they are Stupid.
