Sakurai Keiwa - Bouts of Hesitation.

To preface this, every person is free to interpret any character however they like, its just that there can be wrong interpretations or misguided or even biased interpretations.

As I was browsing through the Geats tag, I saw someone post about Keiwa’s hesitation in joining Ace’s DGP, a DGP without any price and prize, and how his hesitance does not make him a hero.

And that is a fair assessment, he’s just like acting like any human being, even if I disagree with the assessment. It wasn’t misguided or even biased and its not a wrong interpretation either.

It’s the reply to the post that baffles me.

The reply said “He is just like Daiji. A self-proclaimed hero with a savior complex. In other words, a villain. “

And let me tell you, I was really gobsmacked when I read that post, I had to lie in bed for a time to let that sink in, to process what I just read.

Not only did they interpreted Keiwa’s character wrong but to be fair, his character arc isn’t even finished, but they grossly misinterpreted Daiji’s character and his character arc 

They had the audacity to label both Secondary Riders as, and I quote, “a self-proclaimed hero with a savior complex.” that assessment was, true, but I was totally stunned when they equate having a savior complex into being a villain.

Like damn, what are you on?

Let’s enumerate characters who I think have a savior complex and tell me if all of them are villains.

Tadashi Hamada from Big Hero 6 (Somebody has to help)

Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto (granted he wanted to save Sasuke more often than not, but he still has a complex in saving anyone and everyone, talk no jutsu everyone?)

Eiji Hino from OOO

Sento Kiryuu from Build

Takeru Tenkuuji from Ghost

Yamato Kazakiri from Zyuohger

Keiichirou Asaka from Lupinranger vs. Patranger.

Hiromu Sakurada from Go-Busters

And these are just the characters at the top of my head, and I know I can fill the list with a lot characters from Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.

I think they have a savior complex? Yes, do I think they’re villains? HELL NO!.

Let’s start with Daiji as he’s a character whose character arc is done and lets jump to the time when he sided with Akaishi. The thing with Daiji is that he often views the world in black and white, Kagerou’s absence only exacerbated that view of his to the nth degree. He literally views siding with Giffu to be the safest option.

It doesn’t help that Akaishi is a master manipulator who manipulated Daiji like a fiddle, without Kagerou to help him question Akaishi’s motives, he fell right into it, hook, line, and sinker.

Akaishi being a master manipulator? Where was that? How about him running Fenix all along with people oblivious to his many motives?.

So let’s summarize Daiji’s character for this arc: He was manipulated into doing things he thinks is right with his personal fact checker absent, and you say that makes him a villain.

And who’s not a villain? Olteca?

Now for Keiwa.

It’s a known fact that Keiwa definitely has his grandiose ideals, he tried to narrow it down, but it was still as grand as his first but a little more reachable with the DGP’s wish system.

And then the whole fallout happened, I still believe that Keiwa is partially right in that Mitsume was at fault for letting things go this far, she literally voices this to Ace when they finally met. 

But she’s not fully at fault for what’s happened

In any case, Keiwa’s hesitation comes from being given a choice as opposed to not thinking about his choices and just fight for it. Both Keiwa and Neon have already proven this when the Jamato Grand Prix first started.

Keiwa and Neon joined Ace in defending the populace from the Jamato even when they know that they literally will be unpaid for their saving the world services. 

And this episode cements that, when faced with the Jamato, Keiwa’s and Neon’s first instinct was to save the civilians from the Jamato WITHOUT THEIR RIDER POWERS, there was no hesitation in trying to save the civilians from these monstrous plant creatures.

This is also not the first time Keiwa’s hesitated either. He first hesitated when he found out that the Jamato he’s fighting was the same Rider who saved him and Neon during a previous game, but Ace corrected his assumption and let him make the winning shot.

The second time he hesitated was when Archimedel targeted Sara, he hesitated because he was weighing the pros and cons of respecting Sara’s wishes of him not becoming a Rider anymore and before it was too late, he had weighed his sister’s life over respecting her wishes. (That and he was waiting to see if Ace would intervene or not)

Making snap decisions with multiple choices isn’t Keiwa’s thing. He can make snap decisions when the choices presented were doing something or doing nothing and doing nothing would pile up corpses.

If the choices are other than the two choices before, he hesitates and takes time to decide and weigh the pros and cons of his choices.

IDK about anyone but I don’t think Daiji and Keiwa’s actions aren’t villainous than say, Mitsuzane trying to save his friends in the most underhanded and heinous way possibl.

Or even Takatora.

The main difference between the characters you think who are villainous and have a savior complex is one thing, both Daiji and Keiwa do not like to sacrifice a life to achieve their goals unlike villainous character you view to have a savior complex, they have the mentality of “inevitable casualties”

And that difference doesn’t make Keiwa, or even Daiji, a villain.

Ito Asahi and Yuki Kousei’s interview featuring in LuPat Treasure Collection Photobook Since you guys have known that I bought this book at the end of February and this baby arrived around April. For any information, I ordered it on Amazon Japan with the full price of about $35 (including tax and shipping fees). One tip is that it’s better if you buy the book right after it released, you can have more gifts rather than a book, but I didn’t.

So I captured some pages of my book to you guys, and I’m really sorry that I cannot scan the book perfectly since I’m very busy, and I don’t have a good scanner.

Since I don’t like spending money on books or goods, but this series changed my mind a lot. I’m still saving money to buy Yuki Kousei photobook and Melt (Ryusoul Blue) plushy (if it available on Amazon lol). I really want to get a plushy since I missed the LuPat plush series, I tried to find but no, Keiichirou plushies are completely sold out whole wide world (and someone sell it like 30k yen wtf), even Umika, but the available one is Patren Nigou (not Sakuya, Nigou), if you like him. And I also check some of the KR goods in Amazon too, KR Zi-O plushies is still available too.

And another good deal if you’re a fan of Kudo Haruka, her personal book is suprisingly cheap (1944 yen), and it has a gold prime mark. It’s not a sale lol.

Summary: Kairi much preferred his favorite cop come to his place, for one specific reason

Rating: MATURE-ish? Maybe a little higher? I DUNNO.

Yano Kairi had plans when he coaxed his secret boyfriend, Asaka Keiichiro to come to his studio apartment.  Not that Kei-chan’s place wasn’t comfortable or nice, but it reflected its owner, clean, straightforward, and lacking in the thief’s style.  

So that evening, Kairi eagerly took the boys jacket putting on his ornate dining room table grabbing Keiichiro’s wrist to pull him closer.  

Wrapping his arms around the lean blonde, the dark haired cop hummed softly, pressing his lips against Kairi’s forehead. “I should take a bath….been a long day…”

After running around and chasing bad guys all day, all Keiichiro wanted to do was get close to his younger lover and relax.  But, before he got comfortable, the ambitious law enforcer needed to get clean, to wash away the dirt and grime of the day.

With a playful giggle, Kairi nodded, the curls of his golden blonde hair falling into his face. He didn’t think the other boy needed to clean up, even after a hard day of work, Keiichiro smell wonderfully.  A delicious mix of his cologne and the boys natural manly smell, it was just an attractive scent.  

Gently nodding his head towards the bathroom, the blonde teasingly said, “Always welcomed to get naked at my place, plus you got a set of clean clothes here too!”

“Ah!...” Keiichiro’s cheeks flushed suddenly, remembering the last time they were together.  The boys overslept that morning, causing them to run out of the apartment, leaving the cops clothes from that previous day behind. His eyes darted away from embarrassment, at his  “T-That’s right…”

Trying to save himself some more embarrassment, the stoic cop leaned down slightly brushing his lips against the other, in a quick gentle kiss. “I’ll be back”

And with that Kairi felt the firm body of the other slip out of his arms, disappearing into the bathroom, the door clothing with a gentle click.  It was so cute that the was still a little shy about undressing in front of him.

“OK~ Ill just start up something for us to eat!” The blonde called, watching the door close behind his lover.  But, Kairi had no intention of starting dinner…well, not yet anyway.

Stalking around the apartment space, the carefree boys ears were pricked up, his mind running a million miles a minute.  His mind kept flashing images, of Keiichiro unbuttoning his shirt, peeling the fabric off his body, reveling his rolling muscles underneath.  Undoing his dress pants, and snug briefs until…

The sound of water pulled Kairi out of his heated thoughts, reminding him that his daydreams were in fact reality.  Keiichiro was behind that door, completely nude and vulnerable in his shower. Gnawing at his lower lip anxiously, Kairi’s ears strained listening for that tale-tell sound of someone getting into the shower.  

Unable to resist, the blonde quickly peeled off his clothes, and crossed the space to the bathroom door. Being a thief, had perks besides treasure, the door to the bathroom opened soundlessly, allowing Kairi to slip in unnoticed.  

‘…Bingo~’

Not only was his apartment more stylish, but definitely held one large perk… A shower, with a clear sliding door.

The glass door was barely fogged, allowing the blonde boy to stare right at its current occupant.  Luckily Keiichirou was turned away from him, the boys back in perfect view to the blonde.  Slowly, the cops’ arms lifted, his hands running through his dark hair, the boys head tilting back, to enjoy the waterfall of the shower.  The slow and lazy movement immediately caused Kairi’s eyes to travel down the boys back greedily taking in every defined muscle along his backside.  Biting his lower lip, Kairi swallowed the sound of appreciation that threatened to bubble up, enjoying the view, his gaze lingering at the boys impossibly firm ass. There were many redeeming things about Asaka Keiichirou, his sense of honor…fair place…his passion…but Kairi would be lying to himself if he didn’t also appreciate the fact Keiichiro took such good care of his body as a cop.  Every inch of his form was made of lines of muscles, coiled and ready to strike when needed.  

“Ah~…”

The soft noise was followed by Keiichiro’s hips moving slightly, the streams of water snaking down his body and over his tempting ass, as the dark haired cop, began to wash his face.

He couldn’t help himself anymore, Kairi silently opened up the shower door, before slipping in besides his lover.  “…Kei-chan~”

The stoic cop gasped, feeling Kairi’s arms wrap around the boys lean waist, the thief’s body pressing up against him.

“K-Kairi how did you get in here? Didn’t I lock-” The boys voice was a soft gasp, surprised at the sudden guest in the shower.

Chuckling to himself, the blonde dipped his head slightly, nuzzling against Keiichiro’s neck, “A lock? Did you think that would stop a thief from getting in~?”

“God Kai~RI~!…” Gasping, Keiichiro jumped slightly, feeling hands slip between his legs.

“Come on Mr. Police Officer…Lets get dirty before we get clean <3”
