The whole "Chris wouldn't date a black woman" thing is so fucking weird to me like... have none of you even watched Chris in the videos? have you paid zero attention to him? Chris has said multiple times that he just loves WOMEN in general. I honestly don't think he cares if their black, white, latina, asain, or any race he just loves women. He has never said anything to prove otherwise. The literal only thing I can remeber, and it might not even have been chris, but the only thing i remeber him saying is a physical feature he doesn't care for is blondes, but again i may be thinking of someone else for that one.
Literally cut out the racist bullshit thinking that you know chris and he has personaly told you that he would never date a black girl. Sending that shit on someones anon is crazy.
yea they’re tripping
but THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS

Is it true that they are looking for asain sophie now?
If the casting call and that insider info are true & are in fact about Sophie's casting then yes it's true
Overall business & marketing-wise, the show needs an Asian Lead character for the upcoming seasons, and since two of the future leads are already known and cast ( Phillip & Michaela), the only logical sense is to do that with Sophie casting
The show has been getting criticism due to the lack of Asian Characters especially in the main role. The show also while still performing well in most Asian countries, is still not giving the results other regions do for the show and Shonda + Netflix have been thinking of ways to bring Asian audiences to get interested in the show in a big way
The idea of Asian Sophie works so well with the introduction of Ben being Pan/Bi in the show, with the showrunners possibly blending both Cinderella tropes with Mulan as inspiration
In the book, Sophie attends a masquerade and meets Ben for the first time and they fall in love while he never sees her without the mask & she is the lady in silver to him. He spends time looking for her. In the show they can play on that and on his sexuality by making Sophie dress as a man & meet Ben in that manner, making him look for a guy instead which as a result will come to a play that when he actually meets her as a woman he won't think she was the same person he met & results in a conflict in his feelings because he will love Sophie as a woman when he meets her, but he would still be lingering on the hope of meeting "the guy he met at the masquerade ball". Also, it would be a play on the Ben book name "An Offer From A Gentleman"

Buddhism Infodump Ahead😋:
OKAY SO- This all started like 2 years ago I think?? Because I was taking a Buddhism class (at this point my brain hadn’t really connected the dots yet with JTTW and the class lmao) and we were talking about Bodhisattva’s and how they’re all gender neutral (which I thought was so fucking cool). During the class, we talked about Guan Yin and finally it clicked in my brain that hey!! That’s the bodhisattva in JTTW! But I was confused because the book definitely uses she/her, when theyre supposed to be gender neutral? I pulled my prof aside after class and asked why that was?
And SO- the Guan Yin that appears in the book is a specific version from the school of Chan(Zen) Buddhism, which focuses more on meditation as a path to enlightenment. This kind of mediation can be done while going about daily life performing chores. As you meditate, you can be spontaneously enlightened, either triggered by a sound or change in your environment. This school has special versions of the Buddhas and Bodhisattva’s, like Rope Robed Monju and White Robed Guan Yin, who is (usually) depicted relaxing in their home (a bamboo grove said to be at Mt.Putuo) by a reflecting pool. When Christians started coming to China to convert people to Christianity, they saw this super popular version of Guan Yin ((which people at time were depicting as more feminine)(as bodhisattva’s can take any form they want)) and immediately equated them to Mother Mary. The white clothes, feminine appearance, and occasional depiction with children convinced Christians that they were worshiping Mary. Thanks to conversion efforts (and China not wanting to be attacked by Europe for denouncing ‘their God’), Guan Yin as a woman was cemented into the general population. So by the time JTTW was written, Guan Yin was portrayed as a woman! They also spread the idea that Buddhism ISNT a religion but a philosophy! Because then you can worship the Christian god and not yours, because yours is just a way of life not an actual religion! I’ve had ALOT of people tell me Buddhism is a philosophy and it activates my anger every time(These conversion efforts also resulted in a lot of Non-Asain countries having the the wrong idea of Buddhism since the missionaries brought back this warped version to Europe, ideas that still persist today).
Other Funfacts:
One iconographic detail that can help you identify Guan Yin, is that Amitabha is always sitting in their crown (not sure if this applies to avaloteshkovara tho), which also links them to Pureland Buddhism, as Amitabha is the Buddha of the Pureland and infinite light and life😌 (the western heaven in JTTW for context).
While Bodhisattva’s are not gendered, Buddha’s are! Which is probably related to the fact that Buddhas don’t really change their appearances like the Bodhisattva’s do, since they don’t usually interact with humans
Guan Yin is also known as Kannon(Japan), Gwan-uem(Korea), and Avaloteshkovara(India)
Amida (Japans name for Amitabha) also performs the Raigo or welcoming descent and can be accompanied by Kannon and Seishi to take people to the Pureland as they’re dying. This is where they will spend their next life, listening to lectures by Amida, as they try to reach enlightenment
Nirvana literally means extinction, it means removing your self from the cycle of reincarnation and finally resting
When you are enlightened, you become one with everything, including other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas
There are over 80 signs of enlightenment including the urna, ushnisha, and elongated earlobes. The earlobes are from the historical Buddha Siddhartha, who as an Indian prince, would have stretched lobes for Jewelry
You can also ID a specific Buddha by the combination of Mudras they are displaying- Abhaya and Varada are specifically for Shakyamuni (the historical Buddha). Amitabha with the Samahita Mudra (I’m having trouble finding its name, so I’m not 100% sure it’s right)
Two of the Bigger Branches of Buddhism are Mahayan Buddhism(which is more popular in North Asia) and Theravada Buddhism (which is more popular in South Asia)
In esoteric Buddhism, the more heads and arms a deity has, the more powerful they were, see 11 Headed Guan Yin
TO CONCLUDE ALL THESE FUN LITTLE FACTS: Buddhism is a religion and is different in every country it’s practiced in, JTTW showing just a small snippet! Hopefully there was some stuff in here you didn’t know and if there is something in here that might be wrong, let me know! I might not get everything right and I’d love to learn/correct anything!

EYE CANDY 🍬 Part 1
Yakuza! Yandere!Genji x fem!reader
Summary: You get drugged up in a dance club with none of you're friends there to assist you. Unfortunately for you someone noticed.
Pairing: Yakuza!Yandere!Genji x reader
Warning(s): drugs, alcohol, implied assualt, MDNI, 18+ content ahead!
A/n: Just a quick one-shot. Unsure if this will have a part two. I'm new to Tumblr so bare with me. I am still learning to post on here. I really hope you guys enjoy my writing.
Tumblr media
The entire room was spinning, the flashing colored lights seemed much more brighter, the music muffled but it was loud enough to vibrate the entire dance club. Regardless it was enough to make (Y/n) aware that she was drugged. Her mother had warned her long ago about these places and how one day it could happen. But she never thought it would ever happen to her. The feeling of someone moving to sit next to her wasn't enough to catch her attention. In fact, she could care less as the man let his fingers graze her cheek.
"Ah..?" She moans in response as the simple touch made her feel so.. hot.
"Don't worry.. I won't hurt a defenseless woman." The voice said and she managed to turn her head to look at the man speaking to her. Reassuring her that he wouldn't do anything to harm her. "You poor, poor girl." His voice sounded like he was mocking her. She could see he had dyed green hair and in a suit. He wasn't security so her next guess was that he was possibly a well off man. "You don't look like your from here.." he said with a thick Asain accent following his words.
"I'm from.. my house." She swore he heard him chuckle and he passes her a glass. 'Water?' She thinks as she brings it up to her glossy lips and drinks. More alcohol.
"Do you have a name?" He asked as he let's his fingers trail down her cheek, his thumb brushing against those supple glossy painted lips. They stood out more than the color of her flustered cheeks.
"Name?" She thinks and it almost seems like she spaces out before he removes his hand and let's his fingers trail down her shoulder, her arm and stop just at her hip. He let's his thumb slide down her dress, eyes studying and his thumb feeling how soft and warm her skin was.
So soft, he notes.
"Yes, it's.. (Y-.. (Y/n)." She nodes to assure herself as he takes a moment to take in her name. It was unique to him because of how different it was to the ones he would often hear or repeat. He let's his fingers take her bag, look at her phone which was unlocked and he makes sure to type her number down in his contacts, making sure to add his to her contacts. Regardless, if he wanted to see her again his men could easily track her down.
Unbeknownst to her, Genji's eyes were looking at her attire. Admiring how that tight black dress hugged her waist so well. The way the dress split at one side of her leg to show off her thigh. Her hair was short and curled so naturally just behind her ear. To him, she was like a fine glass of wine.
He's slept with a few women in Hanamura to know that women like her were a rare sight. Sadly, he wouldn't feel right with taking advantage of someone so helpless. He looks around, seeing if there was anyone approaching. Perhaps a friend or lover?
No, everyone was too busy dancing, taking selfies, getting drunk or making out. It was usual to not notice someone getting drugged up and end up in a bad place without anyone noticing.
He was going to call her a taxi. That was the plan.
"You're really cute up close." He blinks, not expecting this sudden sentence to leave a woman's lips.
"What?" He flinched as she cupped his face, his cheeks to be exact.
"You have such chubby cheeks too." She smiles and he can't help but melt. This reaction was something he was new to. Affection from a woman at a club but one that thought he was cute. Surely, she was paid to tell him that but he doubted that since she was drugged up. He looks to his left and raised a hand to stop his guard from possibly pinning her down.
"Now why did you have to say that..?" His smile was probably the last thing she saw before blacking out.

Ended up in the radfem/terf tags (disappointingly, “gender abolition” did not lead to people who understand gender as social construct but instead to people who think that penis means man and man means bad) and like. The lack of logic - especially around “dysphoria” and “medical transition” baffles me. A lot of their points revolve around “you don’t want to be a man, you just don’t like how you’re treated as a woman!” which, ok. Let’s say that’s true. That doesn’t change the fact that having a hairier tummy and chest and all over would make me happier. Doesn’t change the fact that having different genitals would make me happier. Actually, my actual gender identity is kinda the least important thing about the way I do transness - idk what my gender is but I could do with some testosterone!
“You can treat body/gender dysphoria with therapy!!” A) not entirely B) most (maybe all? Idk) states in America require letters from therapists before you’re allowed to start medical transition. “I have dysphoria and I don’t RUIN MY BODY with hormones!!!” Ok. You’re living your life and I’m living mine. Also it doesn’t seem like you’re that happy.
“RUINING YOUR BODY YADAYADAYADA” I don’t like cosmetic surgery. I feel a bit sad when people with big noses get rhinoplasties, I don’t think breast implants are particularly attractive. I think cosmetic surgery preys too much on people with insecurities. But am I gonna start ranting at people getting surgery and trying to get them to stop? Nope, because I’m not a freak who tries to control other people’s bodies! That’s just weird!
“Blah blah this man is doing for sexual gratification” First of all I’m sorry you aren’t receiving sexual gratification. Also I don’t care. Sex and kink are a part of life.
“I can’t have a penis in the changing room because people with penises hurt me!!” I’m sorry that happened to you. I was sexually assaulted by an Indian person, but I’m not demanding Indian free spaces. My friend was assaulted by an Asian person, and she isn’t demanding Asain free places. My other friend was assaulted by - gasp! - a cis woman, with a vagina, and she still came out with me to the lesbian bar.
Anyway. Your logic is lacking + trans people have always existed + there is no world without trans people + the second you start engaging in bioessentialism you have already lost + “gender critical”? Yeah I did engage critically with my gender and decided I wasn’t a woman + I am currently talking with a trans woman about the hot kinky gay sex we are going to have. Ratio.

You do realize asking people not to buy/play a video game is going to hurt POC (specifically asian and asain-american) more than the Bad Person you all hate, right? She made her money already. You're going to hurt the developers and management related more than anyone else. If you're so keen on being a supporter of trans right, "not" buying a game isn't doing anything, but "is" actively hurting other groups. It's literally the same action as the girl in the tweet. It's trying to build "trans karma". Buy it or not. Play it or not. That woman won't care. You're just hurting others for the sake of it.
Bruh JKR will actively make money off that game and proceed to donate to anti-trans organizations and people. Also get out of here with that "trans karma" bullshit. 🙄

Not really Buddie but I had put in my back pocket something I had wanted to address depending on if Buck did the sample donation.
You had an ask about why Conor would choose a white guy as a donator and as someone in a mixed race relationship I wanted to give my opinion on why it wasn't a surprise to me
I am white and my husband is Asain. Both my kids look absolutely nothing like my at all. Like not one feature and it's just something we laugh at and we're expecting.
It makes sense if you are a same race couple you would choose the donor according. But in mixed race I don't think that's as important. Also what struck me is how she shares alot of features with Buck so there also could be alot to the fact they are just picking a good donor and hey plus side you guys could be siblings.
Hi lovely Nonnie! Thank you for your input, I always appreciate hearing people’s experiences and different perspectives. I think it’s beautiful that it doesn’t matter to you what the kids look like! Not that long ago, there were shameful, racist laws that prohibited interracial marriages. On top of social stigma. Reading something like your ask makes me wanna stop and just be grateful for a second for how far we’ve come. We are not yet where we should be, but it is good to note that progress has been made, too.
IDK if you and your hubby had to use a sperm donor, and of course I wouldn’t ask you. I can only speak of my own lived experience as a gay woman who would have to use a sperm donor if and when I wanted to become a parent, and from the lived experiences of my gay friends who followed that route. Obviously, no group of humans is a monolith, but I find that for a lot of gay people, when using sperm donors, we do tend to want a donor who look a lot like the non-biological parent. It’s something that helps make us feel connected to the kid, but it’s also something that can help in cases where an issue might arise. Because sadly, a POC with a white looking kid can still draw way more unwanted attention (and even suspicion) than a white person with a POC kid. That’s the part that makes me say that we’re still not where we should be (I hope one day soon we will be).
Granted, Connor and his wife could have decided to go against it, there’s a lot of different reasons I could think of for why they might have decided they’re cool with their sperm donor being white when the wife is white but the husband isn’t (maybe Connor loves his wife so much, all he wants is for the kids to look like her, or maybe they deliberately want to go against the racists and what they might think, say or do if they see a man of color with a white kid, or maybe it’s important to him to show that he will love this kid whether it looks like him or not, or maybe they place kindness truly above anything else and neither one knows anyone kinder than Buck). All of these things are valid. So what was said wasn’t to invalidate Connor and his wife’s decision, it's simply one that I think gave some viewers (myself, with my particular experience) pause. One of the things I considered is maybe this couple hasn’t really stopped to discuss that aspect, and is it maybe a sign that they’re desperate and rushing into things? I have no idea. It’s just one option out of many. We’ll know more if this is ever addressed on screen.
Thank you again and lots of hugs to you and your beautiful family! xoxox
(and as always, if anyone’s looking for it, here is my ask tag! xoxox)

For awhile i liked headcanoning Jade as asain like in the Japanese or Chinese way or Indian like in the dot not feather way/thank you come again way. Then it dawned on me "pink little monkeys" meant all the characters were meant to be Caucasian, then i realized this fandom only wants to push characters into being only white or black other than Tavros where everyone agrees he's Spanish but people don't like that character anyway. Hussie then said the characters are aracial but said something along the lines of none of them being black. Back then i used to see Aradia and Sollux portrayed as asain but Aradia is pretty much only portrayed as black now in days. I can't tell what race people try to make Karkat but i saw him as Hebrew, Terezi as Jewish, and i liked to think that Eridan was scottish. Idk i thought headcanons were supposed to be fun and shit but people get way to defensive about it, i think race bending is ok even if it means black or white washing or whatever other race you wanna include but i feel it shouldn't be taken too seriously even if it can be a little obnoxious it's fine however people draw the characters just some variety would be nice since this fandom was so big on headcanons. Remember those headcanon cards people would make? Like just a colored background with some text over it with a character standing by it? I remember seeing one where a person headcanoned Kanaya making a green trench coat for Equius then he gave it to nepeta or one about clubs deuce being pen pals with clover i miss stuff like that
So does that make Damara a Blasian too if Aradia is this and the fact that her garbs are connected to Asian culture and Damara speaking Japanese? Albeit broken Google Translate, but one I did not mind. Or would it cause bad implications that a Black-Asian woman would be working with Lord English, the big bad villain of all people? Just like how people got pissy that Meenah being black-coded means that her would be self, The Condesce, is black, and is the one that had forced the racist hemospectrum caste in the first place? It's a rabbit hole that the nu-fandom is unaware they are making it worse on themselves despite the sake of diversity and progressiveness. But one I wouldn't mind if only to watch them slowly realize this and freak the fuck out. But yeah, I missed stuff on letting people enjoy however they view the characters what they want and not harass others about it. If someone likes to make them all black and fat, good on them. If someone only draws them anime style and all light skin, good on them. If they make the trolls furry by adding tails, power to them. If someone likes the alien trolls as they are, power to them. Modern fandom just takes series from games, anime, manga, TV shows, and movies too seriously these days that it is hard to enjoy it openly because one small disagreement and opinion.

Wine Me, Dine Me... - A Canberra Companions Guide To Eating Out
Love the idea of stepping out to dinner, a captivating and alluring woman on your arm, ready to enjoy a night of indulgence, however... you don't know the local restaurant scene, or where best to take a lady who enjoys fine food just as much as fornication?
Then let me make some suggestions - a total foodie, I love eating out and sharing the experience (the scent, the taste, the atmosphere...) with a lover for company. Below are my favourite restaurants to enjoy while in my hometown of Canberra, but don't worry - if you want to take me dining interstate I have a long list of places we can chow down at as well!
Wild DuckPopular with the pollies, Wild Duck is one of Canberra's best Chinese-fusion fine dining experiences. Ever since I first ate here, quite a number of years ago, it has remained one of my favourite dinner spots in the ACT. Cosy, but with delightful service and a delicious mix of traditional & inventive menu items, make it a lovely date spot - especially if you manage to snag one of the intimate booths for a meal, which can really make you feel as though you have your own personal waiters & chefs, and is the perfect spot for making eyes at each other from across the table while enjoying a meal.
Italian & SonsClassy-yet-casual and set in the heart of Braddon, Italian & Sons focuses on fresh seasonal produce to create delectable Italian fare. The open kitchen lets you watch the chefs at work - busy tossing pizzas and chopping, sautéing, and preparing meals. And of course, no Italian restaurant is complete without an extensive and well-thought-out wine list, and Italian & Sons does not fail to deliver on this front.
Black FireA gorgeous Mediterranean restaurant that heavily focuses on meat, with a lot of their dishes cooked over a roaring fire pit ensuring that they are as flavour-packed as they are succulent. With friendly staff that will happily talk you through the menu and comfy seating, it has a warm and inviting feel while still being elegant enough to feel like a special night out.
RakuIf you enjoy Japanese food, you simply can't go past Raku! The essence of modern, high-end Japanese dining, Raku creates beautifully presented and equally delicious meals for its patrons. With a sleek aesthetic, open kitchen, and extensive menu I could happily stay all night picking at different dishes and sipping away on a sake flight.
Chairman & YipAn iconic Canberra institution, Chairman & Yip serves up modern Pan-Asain cuisine that never fails to leave me happily satisfied. The epitome of fine dining, with impeccable service set among low-lit black and red decor, it's a wonderfully romantic spot for a night out. With an extensive wine list that pairs perfectly with the menu, it's no wonder this excellent restaurant remains a staple of the capital's dining scene.
Tumblr media
And to finish this blog, I feel the need to bring up the ongoing debate in the world of escorts: should you enjoy dessert before or after dinner?
Personally, as someone who is known for her oral skills and enjoys showing them off, I tend to suggest we opt for bedroom time before heading out and refuelling. Working up our appetites together before heading out to eat... sharing knowing looks over a glass of wine and continuing to flirt through our mains, only the two of us knowing what debauchery we were enjoying just an hour or two earlier always helps sharpen the appetite.
If you have your heart set on the more traditional romancing over dinner before retreating to bed for dessert I'm happy to accommodate - just be aware that this is better for longer dates where we can enjoy some lazy time cuddling together after a full meal before getting down & dirty behind closed doors.

White gays being the weakest link and white gays holding so strongly onto being queer as a getaway from so much bullshit also comes down to the fact that this is the first time they’ve ever been Othered. And it’s the first time they’ve ever had proper community and solidarity.
Especially being a white American. There is no culture in being white besides that you are In. That’s why white American people have no culture, the entire thing is built up of Not being the Other. Now often Christianity/Catholicism can play a role in this, but not being super into either of them is often forgivable/flexible with because you’re still automatically In. And you can always learn to be Better at being In through church if that’s called for.
In fact, being the Better Ones of the In is what drives a lot of white parenting and raising. The nuclear family, playing your role in the family, getting a Good Job, is all about being Better In.
Being queer on the other hand, has no room in being In. And is the first time white gays, especially cis men, have at being even at risk at being Out. It’s startling, because a lot can be forgiven if youre In, because it can be played into the role of being a lesson or hardship to overcome to be Better In. But being queer isn’t that, unless you deny that sin and fix yourself.
And even then, there isn’t community in being In. You’re just In. Not much is actually done about that, especially if church or active HOA isn’t apart of your suburbia anymore. No one treats you with exceptional fondness or friendship just because you’re in, you’re just not the Other. The closest thing to a community you’ll get is your family. The nuclear family. They will be the only one’s who ever truly understand you, that’s why your friends/dates are wrong about them and you, they will always know you better. You can only experience true closestness with family. That’s why family being Estranged is such a big deal, they’ll never be able to replace family. And why you only ever get closeness to a family when you’re married in. There is no other way to form closeness.
And that closeness might not be a whole lot. Especially if you’re the aforementioned queer.
That’s why the vibrant community of being queer looks like paradise. Firsthand I can tell you it’s the first time I felt solidarity with other people.* It’s the first time I would meet people and just click right off the bat. It’s the first time I felt unconditional familial love. So when it’s the first time you’ve felt some real solidarity and love for your queerness, especially right after you’re Out for the first time, ig it does something to you.
That’s why white gay guys cannot fathom being in the wrong. They’re in the Out! We’re all in the Out, thus we’re all the same really. That’s why white queers are most prone to gatekeeping bullshit, there’s still that programmed look for who’s In and Out. And they’re on the lookout for that Out because now they really feel a good community for the first time they’re not gonna let it being ruined, hence why they’re so nasty about it.
But a binary of Out or In doesn’t work in being queer, because it’s so fluid and flexible and means so much. Out and In also isn’t intersectional at all, which is why you get your white feminists incapable of wrapping their head around the idea that being a woman of color adds another nuance to things. There’s no nuance, you’re just In or Out. Everything’s In or Out. And the Out will always be wrong and harmful to you. But white guys are simultaneously Out but also In with the Good Out that truly gets it. So they cling on being In again, and nothing they can do ever throw them Out because they’re already Out. That’s why your white gays can be so exceptional bold with no fat, no femmes, and no asains in their bios. They’re already Out, there isn’t anything beyond Out. (Until there is and it’s usually being trans/bi/aro/ace/whatever exclusionary bullshit is about being gay in the Wrong Way)
*This is the first solitary I felt. Some white people have working class solidarity or even southern solidarity of “damn yankees think us all as stupid when we’re not.” But even then, working class solidarity is more based about what you do vs what you inherently are, so it might feel a bit different.

[ID: Four gifs of Margaret Cho, a heavily tattooed Asain woman, performing stand up comedy. The subtitles read
"I don't like it when it gets racial. And it gets racial sometimes. I wrote a book and I went on a radio tour to promote it and they're like, 'Margaret, we love the book but tell us, what was it like making Charlie's Angels?'."
At this, she looks exasperated. Then she says,
"No. I'm the one from Grey's Anatomy." /end ID]
