y'all hear me out on this. the novel isn't a harem, so there should be one person Nero ends up with in the end.

Alexei

knows him far better than the rest, purely by virtue of being beside him since Nero was a child.... but also, that's the part of the relationship that feels awfully icky.

Wolf Knights can't get married or have children – they live and die for their Emperors. a big part of Alexei's identity is being a wolf knight, going against the most integral oaths he swore by getting with Nero seems like killing his character a bit.

Asaga

Asaga had enormous potential, but I don't think the author realises that they failed to give him a personality other than that of Nero's eager-to-please slave (which BY THE WAY feels incredibly racially motivated).

I was expecting him to really wrestle with himself when the collar was removed – to need time to heal and learn about who he is when he's under no one's influence. Skipping this part dehumanised him to a point where I can't visualise him standing besides Nero as an equal partner.

Yestin

The second likeliest ML. He's smart, competent, emotionally intelligent, considerate, etc.

But seeing as his relationship with Nero started off as a brotherly one, it's just so uncomfortable (even more so when you remember how similar he looks to Elianor).

Heidrich

probably the ML. The Hexagon, been-there-from-the-start-of-his-Emperorship, "tacit understanding" SS-Alpha partner.

Mr "AITA for masturbating to the paused image of my Emperor's face after video calling him to report on the latest battle plans" Heidrich

The same Heidrich was desperate to see Nero become upset by him marrying someone else, like some pining maiden looking to make her ex jealous

Guy who was always suspicious of the Holy Son's inhuman aura and never as affected by him as the others (save maybe Yestin), even in the book.

Saint Louis

the wild card, the post-Zerg-war Holy Son. But considering how he'd been disabled, imprisoned and exploited by humans for thousands of years, his dynamic with Nero would be so toxic.

Saint Louis said he liked Nero's scent after his omega differentiation, indicating compatibility

he's super strong and, by nature, also seems to be omniscient to a degree. definitely well-matched with Nero, who's basically perfect on his own already.

I guess we can wait and see how this one develops?

FLOWER PLANET PROJECT

I thought I’d post this older project of mine that I did throughout my college course that started it all. For my FMP (final major project) I decided my theme will be speculative biology but at the time I titled it speculative evolution as I did not know the name of the genera. I would say this was the project that pushed me towards the direction that I am in now and that is to fully explore spec bio in my art.

I wanted to create animals that resembled plants due to their planet being rich with oxygen and inhabited by giant alien flowers, thus pushing the animals into adapting colourful camouflage to blend in with their also vibrant environment, resembling many of the planets fauna. At the time I was taking inspiration from earths animals such as camels, tarantulas, amphibians, and gazelles. I used this as a starting point as I didn’t want to go all out in creating a hard core alien life form with science farty stuff behind every design decision.

Here’s a pig thingy ma jig that I’ve created as a visual starting point to what I wanted my spec bio creatures to resemble or take example from, on this flowering planet. ⬇️
