it's actually kinda funny that zanka at the start held belief that if he tried hard enough and put more effort than anyone else it would automatically mean he's "special", that he's better, and then comes hyo with all her overwhelming talent but nonchalant attitude and everything she represents crushes all of zanka's beliefs into tiny pieces, he tries to be different (maybe in a way that hyo is) and it proves nothing to him but another failure, then after crawling into a (methaphorical) well and being there for three days and finally meeting enjin, being guided on a path that he thinks would prove his worth to himself, and cultivating his skills for years does another "talented" lunatic come in and makes way for zanka to have another possible self worth crisis
