Stand abilities under the cut:

Killer Queen: Its abilities all revolve around bombs, whose blasts are capable of atomizing people, leaving no trace. Killer Queen's Primary Bomb is to charge any object, inanimate or not, as a bomb simply by touching it. Killer Queen's secondary bomb, Sheer Heart Attack, is an autonomous entity that detaches from Killer Queen's left hand. It is a high range, mobile, heat-seeking bomb that is extremely durable and leaves massive explosions in its wake.

After getting pierced by the Arrow a second time, Killer Queen gains a tertiary bomb, Bites the Dust. It’s an independent bomb that implants Killer Queen into a host body. If the host reveals Kira's true identity in any way, willingly or unwillingly, Bites the Dust will trigger, and any investigators will be blown up before a time loop commences that sends everyone back an hour.

Enigma: Enigma is able to transform objects and people, including the user, into pieces of paper. For simple objects and animals, Enigma can simply apply its ability. However, to trap a person in paper, the user must discover the habits the target displays when afraid.

Scott can't see you. At least not in the way a normal person can. 

Everything about you is tinted red, his glasses leave room for imagination but not by much. He knows the color of your skin, your hair, your nail polish. But not your eyes. 

The color of your eyes was the most difficult thing to figure out about you. 

“Scott,” you say his name so plainly sometimes. He looks over at you, raising his head. “Are you paying attention?” 

He blinks, looking around at the rest of the team members. Oh yes, a meeting, a meeting that he called, that he’s leading. He gave you a moment of time to explain a mutant you had come in contact with during your mission. 

“I apologize,” he says, brows furrowing slightly, “please keep going.” 

Later that night when the mansion is still, a majority of the students are asleep, some possibly doing some late training in the danger room. There's a knock on your door. 

“It's open,” you say, your tone sounding pleasant, slightly irritated.. 

He pushes the door open, closing it quietly behind him. You look up from your papers, meeting eyes with Scott. You look him up and down, a questioning look on your face. “Hey Scott, im just reading the documents about that mutant—why are you still up?”

“Will you take a walk with me?” he asks, but it sounds more like a gentle demand. You cock your head, raising a brow, “It's one in the morning.”

Nevertheless, you end up walking outside on the courtyards with him, a gentle cool breeze blowing through the trees. It's chilly, but not freezing. Leaves of red and orange fall from the trees above, indication that fall was here.

You two sit down at a bench after a few minutes of silence. You slump, letting your legs stretch out in front of you. Scott sits upright, completely still. 

“Something on your mind?” you ask him, tilting your head, “can't think of any other reason you would want to come out here.” 

“What color are your eyes?” 

The question catches you off guard, its random, confusion paints your face before you sit up. “What color are yours?” you ask, repeating his question to himself. 

“Just tell me, it's the only thing I don't know about you,” he continues, looking at you through his ruby glasses. 

“How is that the only thing you don't know about me,” you hum, titling your head at him. “It just is,” he responds simply, “I can't see colors like normal people because of these glasses. You know that.”

“Now that I think of it, I’ve never seen you how others do. I want to be able to do that, I want to be able to see you.”

“You can see me,” you respond, moving your body so your knees were facing him. “Not in the way I want to,” he stares at you, his eyes barely visible behind those glasses, “I want to see all of you. Everything, every detail.”

You reach up, your soft fingertips brushing his chilly skin while you remove his glasses. He clamps his eyes shut, as if he was in pain. The neat thing about your mutation is that it just appeared not too long ago. 

You were friends with the X-men before your dormant mutation made itself seen. This is the first time you would be using it on any of the others, especially Scott. You don't have much practice, he knows that, but he still trusts you. 

Carefully you press your fingers to his temples, closing your eyes and concentrating on manipulating his mutation. “You can open them,” you breathe a minute later, opening your own eyes. He hesitates, lips parting to say something. “I got you, Scott. I promise.” 

Slowly, carefully, he opens his eyes, there's a brief red flash and then a light glow, and it's gone. He blinks as more color starts to come into view, and then he focuses on you. 

“Brown,” you say softly, squinting at his eyes, “like fawn's fur.” His eyes were soft, calming. This sensation sweeps over you. 

He slowly grabs your wrists, pulling them down as if he's seeing you for the first time. No, actually, he really was seeing you for the first time, without that red tint. 

He doesnt say a word, instead he just stares at you, reaching up to cup your face, his thumb caressing your cheek. You melt into his touch, pressing your face into his palm. 

“They’re beautiful,” he whispers, reaching up with his other hand to hold your face, “you’re beautiful. You always have been. But now, I can see you. I can see you as you are.” 

He brings your hand up to kiss your palm, lips soft against your skin. He closes his eyes, moving down to kiss your wrist before opening them. 

“I see you.”

assorted empire of death general thoughts:

one of the sloppiest rtd deus ex machina endings in a long while - 'bring death to death' is a cool concept (and rather christpilled) but the mechanics just dont make any sense. and im not one to complain that it doesnt adhere to rigid rules but the logic just is inconsistent. sutekh becomes a god by entering the time vortex and then proceeds to be killed by same time vortex. blowing dust on people kills them but sutekh seeing all of time and space again revives them.

even as much as i hate the journey's end meta crisis deus ex machina, the mechanics of it do make sense.

normally rtd deus ex machinas are justifiable by the character work going on, but this honestly felt rather hollow. like. nothing is going on in this episode outside of beating sutekh until the ending which tacks on Ruby's arc at the end.

lassoo-ing sutekh into the vortex felt a bit like an asspull and inconsistent w the prior vibe. like. it felt like they set it up as if sutekh was possessing the TARDIS; treating it so grossly physically feels like an exorcist story where the priest gets the victim to sneeze the demon out.

the meta-angle of playing on the mystery of Ruby's mother being overblown is a bit interesting and does inject some genuine emotion back into a story that would otherwise have been engulfed by dramatic god confrontations etc. but it's also like. a total retread of clara and the leaf, hell bent etc. we've seen this trope in DW before, and I think this usage lacked both the novelty and emotional/thematic depth it had before. 'bait and switch mystery box' is starting to be actually more formulaic than a straightforward reveal.

it's also a shame given how many interesting theories fans had developed about tv show theory, ruby as the perfect companion etc that we did basically get Clara and the Leaf 2.0.

Mel continues to honestly have no point in even being here. 3 episodes that wouldn't change in the slightest if she wasn't around.

it is getting a bit comical how quick Kate is to recruit every single person in the universe to UNIT

overall s14 thoughts:

for me i think this season, while not bad, sits above only the chibnall era, and a bit above series 7. the inidividual episodes are much better, and 15 and ruby have better chemistry, but it cribs a lot of its overall arc from being largely a retread of s7s. Ruby is more charming than s7 clara, who has a tendency to get written by everyone other than moffat as Generic Companion #47, but this series feels like it's significantly lacking the emotional depth every other rtd and moffat series has had.

i think it's also a bit similar to series 10, which didn't really have a strong emotional arc for Bill in favour of just a fun dynamic, but the s10 finale knocks anything in s14 out of the park. s10 was also just a lot funnier.

gone: id probably cut down on the amount of time sam astrid quinn and edilio spent looking for little pete, i always thought it was a weird choice to have the four of them separate from everyone else for so long, especially since after this first book we never see the four of them together like this again, it'd have been better using smth like this later on to show sam getting to know the kids he rescued from coates better or maybe more of what it was like in pb before the coates kids showed up.

hunger: i think id change lana trying to blow up the gaiaphage at the end and move it to a later book because i always felt like after hunger she became such a static character like mg just couldnt think of anything else for her to do except for heal and make ominous comments about the gaiaphage occasionally. i dont think her trying to destroy the gaiaphage made much difference to the ending of the book either, it could easily be moved to a later book to make her arc longer and more interesting.

lies: idk if this is really a change cause it doesnt affect the plot but id make it so the reveal at the end of drake/brittney being alive and nerezza being a spy for the gaiaphage WAY LESS OBVIOUS like im not even sure it was supposed to be a twist because it was obvious from about halfway through what was going on. and if it wasnt supposed to be a twist then id change it so it is one cause lies was a bit slow imo, it couldve done with more suspense i think

plague: im like 90% sure ive made a post about this before but im gonna say it again cause i stand by it: drake and brittney shouldve been separated by the gaiaphage. like not only was it kinda what i expected to happen since thats literally WHY drake went to the gaiaphage in the first place but i think that brittney had so much potential to be a really really interesting character and she was sort of just reduced to a plot device for drakes character... and tbh HE was pretty much a plot device in the later books so she was like a plot device to another plot device😭😭

fear: im not sure exactly what id do with pennys character but i really dont think she shouldve died at the end, she was such an interesting character both in terms of her backstory and just adding something new to the story cause by book five the whole whiphand thing was getting so tired. like. we get it. so i think having her as a villain in light wouldve been really cool. or maybe id change howards death cause it always made me sad that he just. died. like that and also that nobody cared except orc

Shippers utterly ruined the word but this is literally subtext. Implicit Meaning that is meant to be understood by the audience, in this case a sort of betrayal, which implies a deeper relationship btwn the characters. and this is ONLY communicated via the producers, rather than the text, since grantaire sometimes sings this to all the revolutionaries. Both choices work in different ways

In addition to the million other choices they can make during this verse alone. Ie is grantaire a mean, sad, pushy drunk? Is he suddenly sober? Does he reach out to everyone or one person or the audience or himself? Does he fight with others? Do the revolutionaries listen to him? Do they see him as peer or friend or joke or pathetic? Does that change from cafe to barricade, and if so why? Then enjolras. What is he during this song in which he doesnt have a verse? When grantaire begins, does he notice instantly? Or does he only take notice when grantaire gets morbid? Does he try to stop him? Verbally, physically? Does he separate him from others? Does grantaire begin singing to everyone then enjolras, or just one or the other? What makes him go to enjolras and at what line? What action? How does enjolras act and how does he feel? Do they align? Is he mad at Grantaire for putting morale down and encouraging drink? Does he feel bad for him? Does he want him to believe in or leave the cause? Is he empathetic, supportive, worried? What kind of a leader (and friend) is enjolras? What kind of a person?

AND THEN the staging moment to end all staging moments: what happens btwn them after grantaire’s verse? Push, fight, hug, kneel, surrendered bottle? For how long and where? During marius’s verse? Ive talked about this before and its relevant here: lesmis na tour this year did something interesting where they had a small scuffle during grantaire’s verse (cant remember who he sang to but i remember being underwhelmed) then during marius’s verse they were on total opposite areas of the stage (enjolras high USR body away from audience and grantaire low DSL towards audience, they were both in darkness and at the edges of stage, WHILE marius was in the center with a spotlight on him. they werent the focus. But im crazy) and they were looking at each other the Rest Of The Song. Eyelines FROZEN. Then grantaire blows him a kiss (a kiss so long i didnt know what he was doing until he moved his hand). I dont think ive seen a post-verse interaction that took up the entirety of marius’s verse and the furthest away from attention as possible. It’s crazy in a shipping context (mutual obsession, A Kiss In The Darkness Away From Everyone, a Hidden Gem for people who care about their minor relationship) and it’s also crazy in a thematic context. It implies a taunting, the passive irritating the active who can only take it if they wish to expand.

This interaction implies the purpose of the relationship in the book. Its so cool how much can be implied through behaviour. Acting ❤️

below the cut because its REALLY LONG. theres a LOT of songs. my favs are "the bastard pirate" and "cunning action" and "the black sea" and "kas' karnival" and of course "HEEHOO!"

the riptide pirates (both): sorry i started this and already listened to these two songs so THEY WERE GREAT!!! sea shanties are freaking awesome. i had no notes 7/10

this is my destiny (gillion): AAHHHHH. the electric guitar fits SO WELL for gillion im writhing. this is soooo intense. i can PICTURE him speedwalking down a big fancy hallway. i love how it speeds up he is GOING he is ON IT. this is HIS DESTINY!!!! kind of goes on for too long though. ummm 7/10

prophetic hero (gillion): dude are ALL the songs going to be this intense or IS it just gillion. THE ELECTRIC GUITAR IS SOOOOO GOOD FOR HIM I WILL KEEP SAYING THIS!!!! charlie slimecicle/gillion is the only one who talked about their hit song hole in your heart being pop-punk and also gillion dressed punk that one time HE NEEDS THIS!!!!! THE CRESCENDOS OF STRINGS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! i feel like im in the wild west this is probably because the gun noises and the rhythm feels like horse running. i definitely dont feel like any of these character songs feel like theyre on a boat but thats what "the riptide pirates" is for. 8/10

that bastard pirate (chip): oh this ROCKS. FUCK!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!! THE GUITAR??? the BASS? i think its bass. the keyboard the electric guitar. i can picture chip walking around like an asshole to this. ohhh its so good. its a totally different mood from gillions and its PERFECT. also really good length. 10/10

pirate's legacy (chip): ok sad track for chip. oh what the hell hes talking to me what the hell is he SAYING? all of these sad songs have the same kind of keyboard swell and i dont really care for it. but thats okay. i understand the necessity. is he just vocalizing or is he saying something? i cant tell. 5/10

playful blows: this one sounded like old man earl immediately. in his like fruit patterned hawaiian shirt (<== i realize he doesnt actually have this i was just imagining it). this is CORE of old man earl. hes tropical and hes serving drinks and hes fuckin with you. this is totally a ship-wide kind of play but its old man earl to ME.... the flute is beautiful. 7/10

what lies beyond (anxiety 1): anxiety 1 lol. welcome back keyboard swell. i like the gentle slow strings added though... this IS scary... 8/10 i like it more than the sad songs

the black sea (anxiety 2): oh GREAT. love the deep oceanic ambiance. this is SCARY SCARY. it fits the black sea so well. the um the didgeridoo? i think? that deep rumbling is so perfect. im totally seeing dark stormy waters with big beasts obscured swimming below. 10/10

alveros' tomb: who the hell is alveros. am i supposed to know. oh i looked him up hes the guy that ruled desire island before queen malice hahaha. why is there a song for him... this is so sad and scary... its beautiful though... the scary voice... THE GUITAR IS SO CUTE! the little riff. umm 7/10

Went to the Sunday game. I didnt even ask to know in advance, but by chance the group/person that took responsibility for tickets to the game got seats a handful of rows up from behind the Dallas bench. I was just in disbelief w that given our jokes on the blog here. Our dear Lou is just so damn cute in person. And by every indication from that afternoon, an incredible teammate. Shes constantly supportive, super engaged, and you can tell things will come together for her before long on the court. Her being such a lovely professional didnt help lessen any appeal! 😣 Anywhooo it would be generous to say shot my shot Im afraid - but as luck would have it, there was a moment where she did a little happy dance spin around to the crowd when celebrating a teammates made 3 pointer (they led at this time) and ended up having genuine eye contact and a small smile back with me. So guess we can say there remains some small hope afloat for LouTea? Or at least argue that it wasnt an absolute failure by me on your behalf lol! My shy, yet somehow also overly confident self (maybe a certain attitude tends to come w being 5'2"?) will take it 🙈

So sitting where we did, actually found ourselves not far from Jacy Sheldons family who were at the game! Seemed nice, pretty quiet during the action. As a College WBB follower that was just kinda wild to me. And there was one other woman (maybe one more in the group) seemingly around Jacy's age w the fam in a custom top w her name, but I didnt recognize at a quick look. Dont think they were former teammate(s) though, so curious who they mightve been? Dont know much about JS off the court. Last but not least, a little down from me, I kid you not there was a woman wearing a VT Kitley jersey. I could only die laughing internally to myself, thinking of sharing this later. Not the most implausible place/location to see one tbf, but we honestly cant escape the OG lore!

Anyways the event was a great time all around. Highly recommend a WNBA game to anyone ofc. I was happy to see a Mystics win (and an interesting game) since Im usually bad luck for my/home pro teams in person.

Actually P.S. Li has such a cool vibe! Very sad to not get to watch her play but gives a fun, animated energy from the bench, to her credit. Easy to see why shes so well liked. And I dont know if you happened to see Shakira Austin that day, but holy hell. She is so tall and so stunning it blows the mind in real life. And while Kira is actually single (perhaps a nice fyi for some of you), I should be clear, Lou doesnt need to worry at all about competition. ive already talked abt her a little bit in a prev ask if u wanna see that haha. she doesnt have a name yet but i call her robo-girl bc it makes sense bc she is one.. i want to do one of those things were her name is an acronym but im not smart at names at all!

uum.. id imagine she's like college-aged, so like early 20s? robots dont have ages the way we do. robots exist in this world but human looking ones are very rare... in her case her base was a sex robot, that her creator modified to be a cute fighting robot. she can blow things up with her hand cannon and can do cool tricks

she has to wear baggy clothes and dresses to hide her robot bits, she doesnt mind bc she thinks their cute. she doesnt fully understand human relatiinships and is somewhat jealous of them. her hair and eyes change color but you have to manually change it

also some trivia on her design.. i made her a long time ago (3 years ago) and she was a maid robot but had the same idea of her secretly being a weapon of mass destruction.. now shes basically the same but wants to be a normal girl (like jenny from my life as a teenage robot)

honestly she's not very developed.. i think she would be cute as a main character in a manga or something
