i really like reading your thoughts on "girl"! i was just wondering what you think might happen after paul passes? do you think people will start to examine the relationship between them as something more than just songwriting partners? i mean nothing really changed when yoko said john was bisexual (and some fans still don't believe it!). in my wildest dreams, paul's estate will drop a posthumous tell all book and we'll be left with so many questions lol.
John himself said he was queer several times - I remember watching an interview with him when he was saying being an artist in a capitalist world requires money and that if he wasn't famous he'd need to have married "a rich old lady or man" to be a songwriter.
He also said he hooked up with Brian in Spain (Yoko confirmed he told the press they did "do it" and she was seemingly applauding his bravery in saying so).
Lennon remarked that he was "afraid of the fag in him" which made him act on his anger and set off his worst most fearsome temper explosions.
Also I think there was a few "tell alls" where past friends reported that he was open about his queerness & confirmed hooking up with Brian in frustration.
May Pang wrote that he told her he considered (lol) an affair with Paul. He spent two years in gay clubs in LA.
Yoko also confirmed he was bi (as far she she knew, maybe later on had he not been murdered he'd have identified as gay or pan).
Elton John said he and Lennon did "naughty" things together and laughed about said things with Sean, his godson. Julian Lennon did an interview where he said he "agreed" that John and Paul were in love during the Get Back film period.
Lennon also contributed a first-person poem the First Gay Liberation book.
Those are just the examples I can think of off the top of my head. He also seems to have had a relationship of some kind with Stu (conjecture) and an obvious-departed-from-platonic dynamic with Paul which is easily, easily an emotionally romantic affair at least (which isn't the half of it).
Anyone who denies his queerness does a great disservice to his memory & the incredible poignancy of his songs in this context during his time period. Artists have been reworking the lyrics and wording of their queer songs to appeal to an unaccepting general audience for commerciality FOREVER and to assume this was not done by Lennon, who is "confirmed" queer (if you needed to hear it from Yoko for it to be true to you) is truly delusion.
I think after Paul has left us people will feel more comfortable analyzing their relationship in a queer sense and I do think at some point it has likely been engineered that something to that effect will be officially announced or endorsed in some regard by their Estates (to generate continued moneymaking lol and interest and enigma). I feel like that's something that could happen, reasonably, after Yoko is gone and her hold on the Lennon narrative is diluted into Sean's POV & the McCartney family has the freedom to speculate or give their personal feelings on the life of their beloved father in retrospect. There's also the chance Paul could say something or leave something to that effect before he leaves us.
I feel like Paul would never say anything otherwise because John never got to endorse any release of their personal history before his tragic and senseless murder in a time period where being gay was still treated with such bigotry and cruelty (the 80s). I feel like Paul's great respect for Jane Asher and their relationship is a testament to this because he has never spoken about their relationship out of respect for her - for the exact reason that she has never spoke publically about it herself.
Paul is a pragmatic and private person and I feel like he knows the majority of the ignorant world isn't ready to hear the biggest band in human history was founded on teenaged homoromantic affection/gay love. But maybe one day, it will be.
This is speculation on my part but Paul also probably doesn't want Yoko to know anything because either she is willfully ignorant or John truly wasn't honest with her and Paul feels it's something she doesn't deserve to know - especially if it's something John kept private & only between he and Paul. It's something he always has that's over and beyond what Yoko and John had & he seems to treasure those specific things no matter what they are. Obviously... Paul still doesn't care for Yoko and he is probably extremely fatigued of the fact that she has been the managing agent & author of John's estate for 40 years (when in the late 70s she and John seemed on unsteady terms as per other parties) and then treated Julian with such disregard. Sean on the other hand seems to have grown to love Paul, but we'll see lol.
I also feel like Paul probably has a few "surprises" for Beatles fans lined up for after he and Ringo are gone - he just seems like that kind of person and wants the Beatles to continue on in great esteem for many many years to come.
thank you for your ask!!

eh, I'm kind of tired of the relentless promotion of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as feminist when all those female characters exist in relation to men, and that was the message I felt it sent to me: women are great but only if they don't forget their place. Those women are just better written than most because the original mangaka is a woman, but I've read a lot of Arakawa's stuff and it feels like she's really into this kind of promotion of traditional women in a way that has its pluses in showing how fully-faceted those women are, but never seems to really question those roles in a larger sense. I get why it appeals to people but I wouldn't exactly call it "feminist."
(I also have longstanding beef of how people use that to excuse the really fucked up messages about race in that show/manga, especially to dump on the original FMA anime which does that aspect much much better and whose female characters felt a lot more genuinely independent to me, but whatever. Neither is a bastion of feminism lol and don't want to make this about fandom beef)
It's also not necessary because there are a lot of anime that are outspokenly feminist and center women. Revolutionary Girl Utena being the obvious one, and got me through the 2016 election aftermath with episodes like when Utena beats Touga after he defeats her the first time, showing how women can triumph eventually even when the odds are wholly stacked against us. And it has a really probing analysis of the patriarchy and heteronormativity woven throughout the whole show.
A whole bunch of magical girl anime (not the entire genre, some suck and are made for gross dudes, but a lot of them, especially the 90s ones are aimed at women - Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura etc). Sayo Yamamoto's stuff that isn't Yuri on Ice - not that that show isn't great and gay and cute and doesn't say interesting things in its occasional one-off subplots about women, but it's obviously focused on men. But people who liked it who want great women-centric stuff should watch her Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine and Michiko and Hatchin, both centered on women and very feminist in their themes, albeit in a way that requires you to pay attention and think and watch the whole show so you occasionally get Tumblrites without reading comprehension missing the point of them. I was really surprised, given the kind of trashy title, by the anime Maria the Virgin Witch, which is all about fighting patriarchal ideas about sex in fantasy medieval Europe. Also, Yurikuma Arashi by the same creator as Utena is a really good analysis of the ways that lesbians are portrayed in Japanese media and by the broader patriarchy.
For as much misogyny as there is in anime, the stuff that does engage with feminism can often be pretty radical and smart and does it better than you'll see in a lot of other media. It's like having that low hum of misogyny in the medium as a whole builds up a rage in some of its creators that just explodes in the stuff they make. Same with how it often engages with queer themes, tbh.
And then there's just that anime has a lot more female-character-centered stuff even if it isn't "feminist" exactly. Like stuff about women where the story and world is centered on women that you can just put on as a comfort watch. Love Live or something lol
you do bring up a good point about fma, i kinda forgot about that bc i watched it like a decade ago. rgu is really great and i defo recommend it even tho it was directed by a man. yurikuma is actually my fave anime of all time but does seem sexist and fan servicey on the surface. and i love love live and the other cgdct anime but it feels like there is always an underlying misogyny of that genre, knowing how the male fans and creators are. if i were to recommend a comfort watch i would go with k-on bc it has a female director.
thanks for the recs!

Charlotte 'Charlie' Owens
“And thats Charlie Owens. Her and JJ have been attached at the hip before even I met him. Because JJ and Charlie are a package deal. Maybe because they’ve got similar home lives. She works a lot of jobs to keep her and her mom fed, and yet she acts like she hasn’t got a care in the world. Its honestly impressive. She’s the demolition expert of the Pogues. If Kie is a hippie, then Charlie is an anarchist. I honestly think she’s a pyromaniac..” - John B Routledge
Pogue to her core
Age: 16 (season 1) | 17 (season 2) | 17-18 (season 3) | 19 (season 4)
Gender: Female (she/her)
Sexuality: Lesbian
MBTI: ESTP
Birthday: March 22nd
Family: Unnamed father, Rebecca Owens (mother, barely), Max Owens (maternal uncle/father figure), JJ Maybank (her brother.)
Backstory: Charlie was born to a runaway father and an alcoholic mother that Charlie took care of more than anything. Charlie was always bitter when she saw other kids that had moms who loved them and played with them, when she had to go home and worry if her mom threw up anywhere. Charlie thankfully had an uncle that would stop by and check on her as often as he could, and who got her her first job so she could make some money of her own. But he still couldn’t be around all the time, sadly. So, to pass the time, Charlie would set leaves on fire and burn ants with a magnifying glass under the sun (John B wasn’t totally wrong. She’s an undiagnosed pyromaniac. She also has undiagnosed ADHD). One day, when she was four years old, she met JJ when he came to sit next to her at recess in preschool. They began talking and quickly became best friends and attached at the hip. Then in the third grade they met John B Routledge, and the rest is history.
Hobbies/interests: Lighting things on fire (mainly leaves and trash and dandelions), reading (horror and sc-fi, mostly. She’s a big Stephen King fan), b-movies of the horror variety (she likes making fun of the terrible sfx makeup with JJ), riot grrrl music/aesthetic, being reckless with JJ
Hair: Brown and slightly wavy
Eyes: Brown
Other appearance details: She has a medium sized birthmark under her right upper arm
Face claim: young! Neve Campbell
Tumblr media
“Charlie, since when the hell do you know how to make explosives?!” "Since I got my hands on The Anarchist Cookbook in the 9th grade."
Dynamics
John B: They’re pretty close. John B doesn’t want to admit it now, but when he first met her back in the third grade he had a crush on her, and now that he knows she’s gay he’s embarrassed about that LMAO- Still, they get along great. Oh, and Big John was the closest thing to a father figure she had
JJ: Idk if you could tell, but these two are inseparable. JJ is never seen without Charlie, and Charlie is never seen without JJ. The other will always be close behind. I’d even make the bold claim that they’re platonic soulmates. They’re the platonic version of Bonnie and Clyde. Do NOT leave them alone together for too long, something WILL be on fire when you get back. Also they probably got paired up for the infamous egg baby project in home ec class, and the egg did NOT survive (they got an A for creativity for how TERRIBLY they failed) The teacher honestly should have known better- These two gonna give poor Pope gray hairs lol. Charlie is the first of the Pogues to realize just how bad JJ’s home life is, and he comes to her about that stuff most of the time. They kissed ONCE in middle school when Charlie was questioning her sexuality, to see if she liked boys and they both HATED IT. So obviously JJ was the first person she came out to other than her uncle.
Kie: They get along well despite their personalities sometimes not meshing. Charlie was surprisingly okay with Kie tagging along with them in middle school. She'd elbow JJ in the ribs whenever he was about to say something dumb, and told Kie she was cool, and she can come along, just ignore JJ's dumbass (LMAO-). Charlie was also VERY excited to have another girl in the group, so that may have been why.
Pope: As I mentioned, he keeps JJ and her in check. In return, she encourages him to get out of his comfort zone. Whenever he decides to bend the rules to help the Pogues, she'll tease him by going, "Ooooh, look at Mr. Rebel here~" to which he rolls his eyes with a smile.
Sarah: Charlie was surprisingly open to Sarah tagging along with the Pogues. She never had a personal problem with Sarah, and often stood up for her when she felt Kie was being unfair to her. Her and Sarah get along very well, and she appreciates that Sarah, unlike other Kook girls (excluding Kie obviously), doesn't find her fascination with fire and horror weird.
Cleo: They get along well. I don't even have a specific reason for thinking this, they just vibe well together

🔥 Batman comics in general
Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.
Oooh! I do think a lot of my saltier Batman comics opinions aren't exactly unpopular in nature (too much grimdark and never in the right direction, the misogyny, Killing Joke was a mistake, BruceBabs was a mistake, stop misusing Rogues), so I'll try to bring up some less-discussed ones! (Or at least ones I see discussed less, lol.)
Batfam is conceptually good, but nobody is handling it well. As I've previously expressed, Batfam content constantly oscillates between "Bruce is an abusive kidnapper of traumatized children he trains into child soldiers despite having the means to have them live in luxury, does not provide with love or positive reinforcement, and regularly pits against each other" and some of the most facile, cringey, early 2010s Tumblr conception of found-family to be seen, when I think it's more dramatically effective to find a happy medium between the two. A loving superhero found family with its share of dysfunction, hurts, and mistakes and appropriate nuance being brought to these conflicts is apparently too much to ask for (as is writers remembering Robin(s) and Batgirl literally exist as kid appeal characters).
Likewise, canon Harlivy is seldom handled well. As I said on Twitter the other day, "corporate Pride ate Harlivy". Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy's relationship, both back when it was subtextual and later on as it became Harley's main ship in iterations where she's able to get out of her abusive relationship with the Joker was groundbreaking and important. It was absolutely crucial to middle school me. But somewhere along the way, people lost the plot that they are indeed villainesses (whose queerness was meant to make them more endearing/sympathetic/relatable, but not change this status), and it fell prey to the respectability politics traps that plague just too many sapphic ships once they go canon. In order to be 'good representation', their villainy extends to 'haha RANDOM' irreverent chaos, and their personality gets boiled down to the shallow archetypes of 'chaotic and perky' Harley and 'snarky and sexy' Ivy. Their relationship to one another is 100% fluff, because God knows any nuance, tension, flaws, or friction between two master criminal characters with canonically tragic histories can't possibly be allowed. Because of the misogynistic expectations of Women Being Soft And Good coupled with the homophobic respectability politics of being as toothless, soft, and desexualized as possible to appear nonthreatening, sapphic ships are held to such unfair standards wherein the slightest conflict will be termed abusive and bad representation, and as such, they're written cardboard-flat, and unfortunately, this has befallen Harlivy in most canons where they're together. Even if it's realistically exploring things like recovery for either lady, because that's messy, and complicated, and nonlinear, and who wants that when you can have a memeable 'be gay do crimes'? Oh, but don't worry. Sometimes they will be sexually active - for the titillation of straight men. In-universe. (Don't get me started on the Harley Quinn show...) And poor Selina gets roped into third-wheeling/cheerleading the most boring possible version of them too often...
A lot of the most popular/famous titles are not the better ones. (Not you, Long Halloween, you're a delight and everyone loves you.) Everything that's there to say about The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns has been said better by people smarter and better-versed in comics than me, but Batman: Hush is just contrivance upon contrivance, everyone and their mother is tired of the shit-billion stories about Joker fridging yet another person, and perhaps my most unpopular opinion is that Batman: Year One is entirely overrated. I like the noir atmosphere, the truly corrupted Gotham it gives us, and the sweet triumvirate between Gordon, Harvey, and Bruce, but seeing adaptations like The Batman (2022) and even The Dark Knight (yes, I'm saying something nice about Nolanverse for once lolol) take these elements and do so much more with them really highlights the weaknesses in this story. There's some really good origin/character work for Bruce becoming Batman and the psychology behind it, but past that, not a whole lot happens beyond a very thin and confusing police corruption plot, and everyone is just too damn mean for the sake of the grimdark setting. Bruce injures an already exploited child in the red-light district and sexually harasses the Gordons to throw them off his trail for being Batman, and the latter is played for laughs. Jim cheats on his pregnant wife with a coworker half his age and both women are portrayed as stereotypically in these roles as humanly possible. Selina Kyle is...there, to be angry and sexualized and not much else. It just feels like a lot of buildup without much payoff.
Lastly, and jumping off the above, I'm taking away the Gordon family from writers until they've learned to play nicely with them. I don't know what it is about Jim Gordon that makes writers - men in particular - work through justifying their weird issues about women, but my God, the poor man has been character assassinated to hell and back. (Everyone has in comics, but it's always in the same way with Gordon that properly grosses me out.) If he's not cheating on his housewife with a much younger coworker he's presented as oh-so-noble for not outright workplace harassing, he's neglectful, abusive, or otherwise aggressive to his loved ones in ways that are almost always justified or excused narratively because he's 'dealing with a lot' or xyz past trauma. He's frequently made into a mouthpiece for misogyny, calling women "bitches" in the Arkham series and making other such delightful comments, fetishizing Harlivy (in the Harley Quinn show!), or putting down Barbara's capabilities. If he's written to be struggling with addiction, it's always played as a joke. And for Barbara's part, since The Killing Joke, she's always such a favoured writers' punching bag/doll to put in uncomfortable relationships, often having her talents, skills and intelligence undermined in favour of portraying her as a sex-crazed, overemotional disaster who's in it for the thrills until she is narratively punished in some gendered way. I don't get it! I'm all for what makes characters tick or challenging them or giving them flaws or new horrific situations to work through, but why is it always the same tired, offensive hows and wherefores for the Gordon family? Let them rest!

HI RACHEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope you have had a good day :3 what's a song you've had on repeat lately........you can share as many as you like hehe i just wanna know!
Danny boyyyyyyyyyy c: Thank you thank you! I’m having a really lovely day, I’ve been so busy all week and have been so social that it’s really helped keep me in a decent mood and from spiraling too much tbh! And I met so many fun new people last night and I got invited to a birthday party on Sunday at a bar for this really cool punk rocker I met, and yeah. :3 I’m feeling really great overall! I’m definitely overexerting myself socially to make up for like, a six month long breakdown driven in part by social isolation and loneliness, but I figured better to start strong and then find my happy medium.
I’ve had a couple of songs on my mind as of late!
“Dumai” by Daniel Kahn and the Painted Bird is a big one. It’s both a comfort and a rage song for me - and with the… strangeness of the interaction between my job and my politics as of late, it’s been nice to have art to fall back on made by people in my community who don’t have reprehensible politics or beliefs lmao.
“The Destruction of New Orleans” by Daniel Kahn and the Painted Bird (are you sending a pattern lol). We had a very bad gubernatorial election in Louisiana recently and a horrible, vicious fascist will be sworn in as our governor next year. And he specifically carries a vendetta against my beloved home of New Orleans (as well as all the usual idiotic reactionary culture war shit). And it’s just another reminder that me and my husband’s days here are numbered before we have to move up north for our own well-being and the potential of being able to eventually start a family and get things like top and bottom surgery. And it sucks. It really fucking sucks. New Orleans is the first place I’ve ever truly made a home for myself - I was married here, I’ve mourned loved ones here, I have my own little community here and my own little found family that I love deeply. And that’s to say nothing of my husband, who was born here and barring a year in Europe, they’ve never lived anywhere else in their life. They’re of this land and this city in a way I could never understand, comparatively rootless as I am, and I know it’s going to break their fucking heart to leave. I love my gay little family in NYC with my entire heart and I’m so excited to be closer to them sometime soon, but I’m also just kinda tired of building and leaving communities when things inevitably get scary. I’m also just not used to being outside the south lol. Anyways.
The last one is a little guilty pleasure off of Big Freedia’s Christmas EP. It’s kinda a bounce parody of “Mr. Sandman” and it’s just the greatest thing. I don’t do Christmas, but I do fuck with Freedia something fierce.

Eyes: bright orange/amber, narrow in shape with an almost fox like mischievousness to them
Height: 5’8”, a bit on the shorter side
Body Build: he seems slim due to his loose fitting attire, and is quite limber, but also lean and with a good build. He's lived on a ship most of his life, you godda be able to pull weight. You'd be surprised with how strong he really is.
Skin Tone: Fair but tanned over time at sea
Distinguishing Features: He's got a couple of scars over his life in many places, most are small or medium from miscellaneous accidents. Though there's a very large and prominent burn scar covering his right shoulder, going up his neck and a bit onto his jaw, and all down his arm. There are two smaller burn scars on his back and his hip, all from the same event. His ears are pierced twice on each, with dangling gold on both, and has snakebites on his lips. On his non-burned arm is a sleeve tattoo of different coloured Japanese style (or Enca style in this universe lol) Peony patterns in remembrance of the people he's lost, one flower for every person.
Guild Mark: Cerulean blue under his left ear
Main Outfit: Ezra's attire is very true to him, and looks like proper pirate attire. He wears two shirts, the first one is a Carmine red left slightly unbuttoned, the second is off-white and left even more unbuttoned with ¾ sleeves, it's much more loose fitting and is tucked into high waisted wrap pants that are also loose fitting and gather at the calfs, typical pirate pants. The pants are a darker teal-blue colour and are held up by a cloth belt of the same colour, red cord, and many navy blue leather pouches. The pouches are decorated with tassels and miscellaneous golden decorations. He has navy heeled boots with golden heels, and will sometimes be seen wearing a very long navy jacket with golden thread details, and a lighter teal-blue inside. Though he tends to wear it only on his shoulders.
Winter Clothing:
Summer Clothing: He stays the same, but probably won't wear his coat and his white shirt will be around his waist.
Sleepwear: A loose fitting linen shirt and navy pants
Training Outfit: Same as normal outfit, but without the red shirt, leather satchels, and coat
Swimwear: Navy trunks and breezy pirate shirt
Formal Outfit: Pirate style linen shirt with poet sleeves tucked into high waisted navy pants with three buttons. His boots are brown with a bit of red and kinda long, and has a bit of triangular red cloth tied around his waist with a thick brown belt. He wears his coat off his shoulders and has the titular pirate hat that's navy blue and a big white Feather.
Other: (Any extra outfits or styles you would like to add.)
Personality Information
General Personality:
When you meet Ezra, you may have one of two assumptions about him. 1: He's a very helpful, reliable, and easygoing kind of guy. Or 2: He's a Mischievous, Scheming, Witty little liar. These two different assumptions depend on how observant the person is. If two people were lost in an unfamiliar town and Ezra offered to be their guide, the average one would see Ezra's physical and verbal openness and listen to his charming and sympathetic words and think that they're lucky to have run into him. The highly observant one would see Ezra subtly eyeing them as if building a mental profile, keeping a slight distance, and light soundless footsteps and keep their hand close to their weapon. They'd both hold their beliefs while Ezra showed them around town, even showing them some underground hidden gems for their troubles, before heading off to the train station. However when the two go to buy their ticket, they find that they've conveniently spent all their money at the shops. Stranded? Don't worry! Ezra can help with that, he even got you tickets at a discount, you'll just owe him a favor! Oh, you're from a guild? Even better.
As it turns out, both of these assumptions are true at the same time. Ezra is indeed helpful and reliable, if you ask him for help with something then he will help you efficiently and effectively, no laziness or half-assing it over here. But he can also get up to mischief. Not physically, at least not usually, he's not the kind to play pranks or such, but he does know what to say in order to get what he wants. He hides lies within half truths, he can charm, he can haggle, he always knows just the right words and what you need to hear. However don't confuse his manipulativeness with maliciousness, Ezra does not use his silver tongue for evil intentions, sometimes he just needs… favours. Favors can be more valuable than even the richest of riches if you play your cards just right, and Ezra likes to have a cash of favours on him at all times. He takes favours VERY seriously, and not keeping your word on a favour is akin to spitting directly in Ezra's face and disrespecting his entire character.
Ezra is a highly intelligent person, especially when it comes to people. He can look at a person and get an idea of their personality, their values, social status, wealth, and where they're from. He can read people's faces as easily as a children's book, and can tell what people are about to do before they do it. He's highly observant, and is very aware of his surroundings, though he often doesn't act like it. He'll often have a very relaxed and chill demeanor about him, being seen slumping into his seat, always leaning against something, or laying down on the roof (how did he even get up there?). He doesn't feel like he has to guard himself.
Ezra also loves a good adventure, a good challenge. It's his belief that a tough challenge is a part of the road to self improvement, so he always likes to go on missions that are on the tougher side. He doesn't like staying in one place for too long lest he starts to feel restless, so as much as he loves spending time with the guild, he can't stay there for any more than a week at a time. When he's injured there tends to have to be someone assigned to him to keep an eye on him and make sure that Ezra doesn't sneak back out before he's fully healed. A good adventure also needs a good story, and while Ezra can spin a good tale with all the theatrics you would expect, he's preferred method of story is through poetry. Ezra is a creative guy, and he has quite a way with words, so it's of no surprise that he started leaning towards the art form. When going on missions he will write a poem about the events that happen on then, usually accompanied by a sketch of something related. He's quite good at both, but gets very embarrassed if anyone sees them.
Words that I'd use to describe Ezra are - Clever, Intelligent, Playful, Helpful, Reliable, Mischievous, Perceptive, Intuitive, Social, Dependable, Efficient, Adaptable, Creative, Charismatic, Scheming, Morally Ambiguous, Manipulative

History Information
Where are they from: Ezra actually doesn't know where he's from, he was born to unknown parents in secret on a pirate ship called the Night Peony and then left there for the crew to find. He was then adopted by them, but was never told where exactly he was born. But Ezra doesn't mind, his home is the ship and that's good enough for him.
Why join Thunder Stone?: After his ship was destroyed, the captain, Enodia, told him that it was time to leave the nest and explore the world. For a while Ezra worked as an independent mercenary for money, but missed being with lots of people like his old crew. He didn't want to join a long standing guild and be the “new guy”, not wanting to be singled out, but lucked out when he heard of a new guild opening. He joined just a couple months in, and loves it there. Though he does think about his first home often.
Relevant People:
Barca Odyssey - Father figure - 53 - (Deceased)
Barca was a boisterous and confidant man, but very kind to the crew, and a bit of an enabler for their antics. He's super supportive, even with things that he probably shouldn't be, and always had everyone's back as a reliable guy. He was always impressing people with his slight of hand and ability to pick the pocket of anyone in the world. He was the Quartermaster.
Bright red hair and beard, very burly and 7 feet tall, dark blue eyes, gold tooth, fair skin
He had propulsion magic
Galiot Odyssey - Brother figure - 26 - (Unknown)
A mischievous and daring guy who was always challenging Ezra to friendly competitions. It was always entertaining with Galiot around, his unpredictable nature sure to always end with an adventure. He could always lie and haggle his way out of any situation without fail, and always got the best deals. Ezra was the only one who could see through him. He had no official roll on the ship.
Violet grey curly hair, tall like his parents, quite lean and strong, very light yellow eyes, a ocean wave sleeve tattoo, sienna skin
Enodia Odyssey - Mother figure - 54 - (Alive)
A commanding but altruistic woman who always listened to her crew. She is more Mellow than her husband, but just as confident. Intelligent and brave, her command and leadership over her ship was unquestionable. She was the Captain of the Night Peony.
Silver grey hair that's shaped like clouds, 6’1” and muscular, very light yellow eyes, eyepatch, bronze skin
She has wind magic
Kai - Friend/Shipmate - 30 - (Alive)
The Helmsman of the ship, he is a very friendly and talkative guy, very down to earth and always has a positive attitude. He always tries to take care of people, and will run himself ragged to do so.
Short blonde hair, average height, brown eyes, prosthetic leg above the knee, fair skin
He has no magic.
Moryana - Shipmate - 60 - (Deceased)
Was the master gunner of the ship, she was lazy and antagonistic, but only when she thought it was funny. Always did as told but not without complaining, unless it was about her guns and cannons then she turned very enthusiastic and firey.
Very long messy green hair, above average height, Violet eyes, sharp shark teeth, tan skin
She had no magic.
General History: (Just like with General Personality, I will need more description here. Again, it doesn’t need to be an essay, but it should be more than one paragraph. And again, if you would like to write something longer here, you can do that as well.)
Plot Points:
His current main goal is to gather enough Jewels to buy his adopted mother a new ship, or hire a team to build her a new ship. But in the meantime, I have a couple of ideas as to where his story could lead. I don't expect all of these to be done, and they're more suggestions than anything.
▪︎ Ezra is looking for the people who burned down his ship and are responsible for the deaths of most of his crew and family, but he doesn't want to get in trouble for just murdering someone, so when he does eventually find one he has to try and persuade someone to put a mercenary bounty mission out for them so he can take it. This path involves him finding and killing the people involved one by one, possibly finding out the reason as to why it was burn down, (whether it be due to misguided prejudice, or a legitimate reason)
▪︎ Ezra doesn't believe that Galiot is dead, since they never found his body and he knows that a guy like him was too strong to have been taken down like that. He's been taking lots of missions regarding any strange weather and lightning, organized crime, kidnappings, thugs for hire, anything that may have a connection to Galiot's disappearance. He's trying to put the pieces together
(What are your character’s goals? What would you like to see happen to them? Is there something they need to deal with from their past? This is so I know what sort of things the character will need to deal with or go through throughout the story.)
Magic Information
Magic: Sound Magic
Ezra's magic allows him to manipulate sound in a variety of ways. He can amplify it, making the sound waves more powerful, or subdue it, making them subtle. He can make the frequency higher or lower, he can make the sound louder or quieter, he can even eventually mimic sounds that he hears like a sound board.
Spells:
▪︎ Super Sonic
Ezra manipulates the sound waves to make them more powerful and volatile, something that often ends with an explosion. The power of the sound is dependent on the sound itself, as louder sounds will become more powerful than normal sounds.
▪︎ Subdue
A reverse of Super sonic, Ezra manipulates the sound waves to become more dormant. He tends to use this technique as essentially a cancel button for Super Sonic.
▪︎ Pitch Perfect
Ezra uses his magic to manipulate the frequency of a sound, either making it higher or lower. Higher frequencies are dangerous due to their ability to damage the tissue of your ear by heating it up, it also heats up your body temp and causes damage to your inner ear that can cause headache, tinnitus, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and hearing loss. Low frequency noise on the other hand has the unique effect of causing extreme annoyance and irritation, as well as a lack of concentration, headaches, unusual tiredness, and pressure on the eardrum (like on airplanes).
▪︎ Megaphone
A simple spell, Ezra manipulates sound to make it louder and more effective over a wide area. Good for getting attention or passing on a message to a large group of people from a distance.
▪︎ Mute
Another simple spell that's the opposite of Megaphone, Ezra manipulates the sound to make it quieter. This is a good spell for stealth, or making guild mates stop talking (or possibly for stopping mages from casting spells by stopping their chanting.)
▪︎ Banshee
A spell that combines elements from Super Sonic, Pitch Perfect, and Megaphone. Ezra manipulates the sound of his own scream to be a three in one combo attack. Super Sonic causes his enemies to be blown back, Pitch Perfect changes the frequency to make them stunned, and Megaphone makes it have a louder and wider area of effect. It has the unfortunate side effect of giving him a sore throat, and using it too many times will cause him to lose his voice.
Spells to Learn:
▪︎ Mimic
Ezra combines multiple techniques from multiple spells to mimic sounds that he's heard before. That can be from a monster call, an explosion, or another person's voice. Of course finding the right combinations takes some time, so every time he has to learn a new sound he can't just bust it out right after hearing it.
▪︎ Sonar
Much like how bats use high frequency to make echo-location, Ezra uses the same principle to map out his unseen surroundings by clicking the roof of his mouth. It has the side effect of giving him a headache.
▪︎ Blackout
Similar but inverse to Banshee, Ezra combines elements from Subdue, Pitch Perfect, and Mute to create an area of complete audio sensory deprivation, aside from a very low frequency outside the human spectrum that causes extreme nausea, fatigue, and irritation.
Weapons:
▪︎ A long black leather whip that he attaches to his side. He uses the whip itself to attack enemies, whipping them and grabbing them to either pull them closer or stopping them from getting away. But he also combines it with his sound magic, as the crack of a whip is loud enough to break the sound barrier, which is perfect for his magic. He can enhance the sound to make it even more powerful, making an explosion without heat or flame, or even making the sound travel and turn it from a mid ranged weapon to a long ranged weapon.
▪︎ Flintlock Pistols, two of them to be precise. Though he doesn't use bullets, he uses the sound from the explosion as a sound bullet essentially. When using the pistols they are quite loud, and Ezra can manipulate the sound to create powerful sound bullets. They are far more accurate and compressed than the whip, but are less powerful lest he risk breaking his pistols. One of his pistols he wears on his belt with his whip, but the other is hidden within his pants or jacket in case something happens to the first one. The best truth is one hidden within a lie.
Equipment:
▪︎ Gloves. Ezra has short black gloves that he wears on missions that have small metal plates on the thumb, index, and middle fingers, lower palms, and knuckles. These gloves are in case Ezra has to be in close range combat, as he is much more proficient in Mid ranged combat. They are made so that he can attack by snapping his fingers, causing a small burst of high frequency sound to confuse enemies. If they are wearing anything hard like armor, metal or stone then he can punch them to cause an explosion, or punch a building/ground to force them back. He can also clap to do either or, change the frequency or cause an explosion.
▪︎ boots. The heels of his boots are metal, and he uses them in a similar, though more limited manner to his gloves. They only work if the thing he's kicking against is hard in order to make noise, so they cannot be used in that way in like, a forest or the beach or something. (Unless he like, takes off his boot and just fuckin’ chucks it at them)

Miscellaneous Information
Housing:
Of course, Ezra takes full advantage of the dorms the guilt has to offer. His room has a bed, a nice one even that's decorated with nice sheets and blankets, pillows, hanging curtains, all nautical themed of course. But 99% of the time he ends up sleeping in the hammock he set up on the other side of the room. It's closer to the window and he likes to look out to the water when he wakes up and falls asleep. He has an authentic navigator’s desk made of cherry and maple wood that he bargained down to a steal of a price at an antique shop, still in tip top condition. There are a couple of maps of different places and water bodies all over, some on the walls and some he's still in the process of making himself. There's a tiny model ship in a bottle that was gifted to him for a birthday (he rolled his eyes and laughed at the hilarity of it, but still took the time to make it and set it up). There's a large banner over his bed, one of his ships flags, or one that survived the fire. It's a violet burgundy colour with the typical pirate cross swords, but instead of a skull it's a Peony. Behind the flower is a black circle with a white ring around it, looking like the moon eclipsing the sun. Under his desk is a magically locked chest filled with all the jewls that he's saving for Enodia.
