I am DOWN for fem!kaito messing with people. Seriously I love fics like that. I am also really, really interested in that hakukai fake dating au. The "kaito lives with his godparents for a bit" one sounds pretty entertaining as well! You know what, all of them. you could do literally any of them and I would read it. The only one I'm not that interested in is the BO one & thats just because I don't like BO aus much, but even that one I'd be willing to try.

I love genderbend AUs that explore the way girls would act/be treated compared to their male counterparts (see my rather extensive Wayne Girls AU for reference). Kuroba Kaiya is a chaotic, feckless, seemingly carefree girl who loves to tease and flirt and do magic. She unnerves people both with her constant tricks and as Nakamori’s unofficial second daughter. But when she pins up her hair and put on the white suit she becomes the Kaitou Kid, an undeniable, in control man. Kaiya delights that her skill is so good, no one even entertains the thought of a female Kid. Still the toll of completely masking herself in costume takes a mental toll and affects how she views herself.

Reactions when people find out would be chef’s kiss beautiful. Shinichi both treats her as normal and is constantly thrown off by her behavior not lining up with expectations. Heiji would get flustery and awkward but they’re also jock buddies, suprisingly the best at ease with her after a while. Hakuba can’t decide if he’s in love with her or if she’s giving him a stress ulcer, maybe both.
