I spend so much time thinking about how Pyro is incorporated into Hu Tao's design and combat motifs, and how it's the perfect element for her nuanced but balanced understanding of life and death, and the symbolic meaning of fire, and how fire connects to Wangsheng's traditions and the Staff of Homa, etc. etc., and when I finally write something that might actually get finished. she's not even Pyro-

#I mean all that is informing this fic #I'm having too much fun trying to decide how she uses Anemo in combat; in her job; in her daily life (if she does)#also embracing her C6 evading-death effect but with a twist. it's slightly horrifying and I'm loving it #like if her elemental skill translates as her using her own health or energy or something with the knowledge that she can balance #that sacrifice (leaning towards death) with some healing or a job well-done (leaning towards life)#as a Pyro character she rather poetically burns with certainty #it's a bit different with Anemo #because there's a reason she has anemo in this fic in the first place and it's a slightly different resolution to her grief and loss #I'm fond of fics that are almost the same but a few centimeters off and that informs everything after #I mean there are like 3 layers of explanation I need to justify her having Anemo in the first place #1. why did she get pyro 2. what's the essential motivation/realization in her vision story 3. what are the attributes of anemo #fortunately she would not know the answers to 1. or 3. and this is from her POV! so it's just her speculation #so ehehe it might actually be clearer than the actual game is from her perspective #hu tao your vision line. what does it mean. are you pretending to not care or are you actually just that used to it????#poreing over her character and vision stories trying to figure out when they occured relative to her receiving her vision #and also oddly specific details about her hat #she's so fun to write I hope I actually write more #although the way this is dividing (in my head) it might be a multichapter???#wild #anyway #why did I ramble so much in the tags?
