PIGEON FEATHERS

Adele Renault grew up in a musical family on a farm in the Belgian Ardennes. Traveling independently from age 14 she spent time in Venezuela and in Brighton, England before receiving a degree in graphic design in Brussels. Renault has studied and practiced a range of art styles and mediums, from classical oil painting to aerosol graffiti and now travels, paints, and runs Amsterdam’s @UnrulyGallery with partner Niels Shoe Meulman. While Renault frequently paints portraits of people, often the elderly or homeless, it’s her paintings of pigeons that she is increasingly recognized for. In November, 2017 she spent more than a week painting these pigeon feathers at Ocean and E Forsyth Streets for Art RePublic in Jacksonville, Florida.  @adelerenault  @artrepublicglobal

Continuing civilization’s long history of patronage, Jessica Santiago launched ArtRepublic so a global community of patrons could enable artists to “showcase an unedited version of themselves” and connect directly with the people they inspire. For Art(Re)Public project’s inaugural 2016 expo German photorealistic artist Andreas von Chrzanowski, aka Case, joined 12 other world class artists in transforming the walls of Jacksonville, Florida. Taking inspiration directly from the city for this wall on W. Forsyth, Case’s recurring theme of hands are shown holding a stack of books—itself a reference to a nationally recognized local bookstore—with titles says @StreetArtNews, “carrying ‘hidden’ nods to city’s past and future.”  @case_maclaim  @artrepublicglobal

Curiosities- Evaluation

The project was curiosities which was to make four high quality limited edition art prints in photoshop. 

The research for the project was to look at companies, artist and style. The companies that I looked at were Artrepublic,Society6,Saatchiart,People of print, Jealous Gallery and Print Club London. The style that I looked at was lithographic printing. The artist that I looked at were Nancy, Seungyea Park, Yossi Kotler, Holly Simental, Katherine Blower, Stfacatprints, Plotoprints, Ben Wachenje, Benjamin Murphy, Rosie Emerson, Caroline Tomlinson, Hellovon, Oli Fowler, Joe Wilson, Ryca, Cassandra Yap, Cthulhu/Dan Hillier, Olex Oleole, Hendricks Gin, Eduardo Recife, Alex Rose, Dani Sanchis, Ashkan Honarvar, Joseph Cornell, Mario Sanchez Nevado, Nicklas Gustafsson, Obey, Yeaaah Studio, Tom Frost, Will Scobie, Clark Orr, Drew Millward, Supermundane and Godmachine.

The materials and software that I used for the project were paper, glue, scissors, phone, tumbler, photoshop and mockups.

The tools that I used were the rubber tool, crop, fill tool, copy, paste, type tool, rotate, opacity and shape tool

The processes that I used to make my work was to research processes, companies and artist. Once that was done I then got to bits of paper, some images of people, clocks, animals and objects. I then cut out what I need a glued them down onto the paper to make four odd designs. After that I then scanned them to the computer at a high resolution of 300 dpi then put them into photoshop to start editing them. Once I had done that I then put them onto A3 documents. For the fist one I decide to make it into a ace of diamond playing card. I did that by putting one of my designs and mirrored them, added a blue background and on another layer I added a different shade of blue for the A and diamonds. But before that I used the rubber tool to remove the white on all of them. For the second one I chose a different design, used the shape tool go over a part, changed it to green and dropped the opacity to 50% so that the image can still be seen and made the background to pink. For the third one I used the rotate tool to make it loot like a frame and used the shape tool to make a yellow circle and dropped the opacity. I then made the background yellow. For the last one I used the shape tool to make thirteen dark blue circles, dropped the opacity and used the type tool to put roman numerals to make it look like a clock. I then made the background black.
