Day 20 of #marchmeetthemaker and today is about inspiration. This post has two parts. Firstly: there have been a lot of artists who inspire me, but I've been trying to take a more critical look at the long list over the years to find out which ones influence me, and why. Three consistent artists I look up to are @spmlaw @teresenielsenart and @rebecca_leveille_guay . Mostly their work inspires my own in the manner in which they create it, or because their natural style I consider similar to my own. On the really tough days I go through their work because it cheers me up, and sometimes even gets me to sit down and start working again. I recently was able to study under Rebecca for smart school, and she was able to help give me a bit of a push forward I had been unable to make on my own. Lastly are two Japanese artists whose work I've been inspired by and have been researching more: Ikenaga Yasunari and Miho Hirano. There are others too, it's hard not to be inspired by Japanese artists when living here in Japan!
