Top tips

Buy what you like, not for investment. You have to live with it. I guarantee you’ll look at it every day. And who knows, it could be a good investment in the future.

Start small. Small paintings, sculptures and original prints (screen prints, etchings, relief prints) can be reasonably priced.

If the artist is local to you or somewhere you plan to visit, make an appointment with the artist to visit their studio. You’ll more than likely get a brew and some cake, meet their cat. Artists love studio visits. This will give you an overall insight into their practice.

Having artworks in your home makes for good conversation. Tell your friends!

“As Above, So Below…”, 2023

My experimental film based on my time at @mawddachresidency is finally up on website, Vimeo and YouTube!

Based on a myriad of stories, myths, legends and my everyday life, it explores how storytelling gives a broader view of the world and a broader view of what makes up an individual, as well as a culture.

It was enjoyable, but difficult to make as I had such little footage to work with - the weather had got the best of me.

But I really do love lemonade 🍋 ✨

And as always, Wales was absolutely beautiful 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I had never seen a sky more beautiful than what I had seen at Mawddach 🌌

I haven't had time to take photos of my works lately, so now is the time to start with this piece I created during my January residency at AiR Sandnes.

KLOKKESTRENG is one of the few treasures I've stumbled across in local thrift stores. The Norwegian word translates as "bell pull," and its origins can be traced back to England, where it was used as a decorative cord for a system of bells to call servants. Over time, the KLOKKESTRENG evolved from a functional tool to a decorative element. Handcrafted and embroidered, usually wall-hanging, it was widespread in Norwegian households in the 1960s and 1970s.

My intervention on the KLOKKESTRENG consists of adding wool yarn on top of the original. The finished piece measures 118 x 25 cm.
