Gratulerer med dagen! 🇧🇻🥳
I already wanted to draw Åse in Norwegian national costume and thought today would be a good time to post it. Today in Norway is the 17th of may witch is the Norwegian day of independence.
Art and design thoughts below
When Åse still lived in Norway, on days like these his family would probably go into Kapp and watch the festivities. When Åse was younger she would take part in the children’s parade. As he got older though, he’d skip out on the celebrations. Only sticking around long enough to swipe a piece of cake, then hiking up his skirt and going home for the day. He also was never a fan of the shoes, though thats more because they were rarely worn and thus tended chafe. this drawing is intended to take place while he's a teenager but might look a bit older than intended.😅
He probably doesent celebrate much after he moved and ran away from home but will buy himself a pastry from the local bakery and listen to some music.
Also i'm not a clothing historian so take what im writing here with a grain of salt.
While the national costume of norway is the Bunad what Åse is wearing here would be closer to a Festdrakt (party outfit). Bunads are usually tied to a specififc place in Norway. Bunads in the way we know them today didn't really start appearing until the early 1900s. The festdrakt in comparison are outfits that dont usually have ties to specific places and can be personalized more or otherwise stray from the rules set in place by the regional bunads. The term festdrak was orignally coined in 1997 by Torunn Valland. I couldn't find any specific bunad for the area Åse lives in that was in use during the time she grew up there. So I decided to make my own design.
I took basis in already existing designs like the øst-telemark bunad. While Åse prefers more androgynous clothing he didn't start experimenting with his gender identity and expression before after he came to America. Considering how she and her mom were specifically good at tailoring they had the ability to design their outfits how they wanted them and I think Åse would relish the opportunity to make her own personalized outfit for a change instead of someone else's. I wanted this to be reflected in the embroidering as thats Åses favorite thing to do. I simplified it a bit for my own sanity when I draw it but in real life it would be covered with embroidered flowers and plants.
(source 1, 2) Sorry that most of my sources are in norwegian, but if youre an english speaker and want to learn more here's an articale that I think is pretty good.

How To Cosplay On A Budget
As someone who is starting cosplay or has been cosplaying for awhile you’ll notice that it can be an expensive hobby, even the cheapest cosplays can be up to $100 in supplies, but with this list you’ll be able to save a little money on your cosplays!
Closet cosplays
Closet cosplays are cosplays consisting of clothes in your closet, they’re super easy and an interesting way to get into the mind of the character your cosplaying and seeing what they would wear casually, now it’s not as popular as normal cosplays, but if your cosplaying a character that has a lot of costume changes or dresses like you this can be your best bet, with closet cosplays you can add accessories that can tie into the character like colors or something that symbolizes them so people can recognizes you, this is honestly the cheapest way to cosplay and an easy start to cosplay too
2. Buy second-hand
There are many cosplayers that either scrap their cosplays or have old cosplays they would like to sell. You can find second-hand cosplays on etsy, facebook groups, and websites like lumikha, whose sole purpose is selling scrapped or old cosplays! Now I dont have too much experience buying second-hand cosplays, but friends have told me it's a great way to save money. Prices may vary depending on the seller and the make of the cosplay, whether that be handmade or bought previously, so I would keep that in mind.
3. Borrowing cosplays from friends
If you have friends who cosplay as well, you can ask them if it would be ok to borrow their cosplays. If they say yes, congrats, you have a cosplay! Just keep in mind that it's borrowed, so it might not fit well and take good care of it.
4. Recycling old cosplays
Now if you have older cosplays that you dont wear anymore you can totally recycle it into something else, if two characters have a similar style or have the same articale of clothing like a shirt or pants, you can definitely resuse it, cosplay is about being crafty, so working with what you have is all apart of the craft.
5. Thrifting
Thirft stores are going to be your heaven as a cosplayer. I've thrifted so many pieces for my cosplays throughout my cosplay journey. As long as you have a photo of the character, you can find pretty much anything that your character needs, if your character has a specific piece that you can't thrift you can diy a clothing item into it, for example if a character has a vest that has a specific pattern on it you can buy a vest thats the base color and paint on the details, almost every cosplayer does this for every cosplay.
Thank you for reading! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me!

Does someone just coincidentally happen to have evidence that shampoo is good for your hair
Because my devices are either too biased, or it’s just newspaper articales
The closest thing I have is a report by the NIH (National Center For Biotechnology Information)
And I can’t find a conclusive answer
And my entire family is now nagging me to use more shampoo, more often
And idk
I think I have enough

actually i haven't been reading i've been doing fish research. bettas seem to be the easiest to a) take care of and b) have space for. i cannot get a 20 gallon tank for a goldfish sorry.... but i don't want to get a fiah that's incompatible with other fish it would make me so sad if it didn't have any friends in there.... the example this articale provided for a fish thats compatible with bettas is ugly tho so i can't get that. sorry not to be shallow about fish but well. it was ugly. anyway. will continue this research

Spider-Gang 🕷️ Playlist
Here is the playlist of the spider-gang (I call it like this because I don't know if it have an actual name/fanon name). I made as if they made a coop playlist to share the music they like/listen to.
Here I'll explain how I choose the songs, but the most important factor was the vibe the character give me, so if you have suggestion I'm always up to listen to them.
Miles 🌻
Most of Miles songs are from the soundtrack of the movies (mostly from Metro Boomin). Also Miles is describe as "an hip-hop fan" and I try to stay close to put black artist as well a songs in spanish getting some inspiration from this articale
Gwen 🥁
For Gwen I decide to put mostly girls band or with main singer a girl, keep it close to the fact she has a band taking as a reference this articole
Hobie 🎸
For Hobie I used an interview to Cody Ziglar where he explain the the playlist he create to accompany the series, sticking to his Anglo-American origin (in the comic is an American teen)
Pavitr 🫖
For Pavitr it was more complicated. I didn't had any true guide to what he could like, so I went on vibes only. I choose Hindi artist and songs, which most of them are from indian film (mostly romantic one, because he seems like one who like them, got the vibe from that interactio between Pav with Gwen and Miles)

No Gym? No Problem! Transform Your Body with These Weight-Loss Workouts at Home
It was a chilly January morning when Sarah, a busy mom of two, realized she couldn't fit another gym session into her already packed schedule. Between school drop-offs, work deadlines, and managing her household, finding time for herself felt like an impossible dream. But Sarah was determined to take control of her health.
“Why do I even need a gym?” she thought. “I have everything I need right here at home.”
Armed with nothing more than her yoga mat, a water bottle, and a playlist of upbeat music, Sarah began her journey. What she didn’t know then was that her small decision would transform her life in ways she couldn’t imagine.
The First Step: Overcoming Doubts
At first, Sarah felt lost. She scrolled through countless YouTube videos and Instagram reels, wondering which workout to start with. “Is this even going to work?” she questioned. But instead of giving up, she decided to start small—just 10 minutes a day.
Her first workout was a simple routine of jumping jacks, squats, and planks. It wasn’t glamorous, and her form wasn’t perfect, but she showed up. And that was what mattered.
Building a Routine
As the days turned into weeks, Sarah began to notice changes—not just in her body, but in her mind. Her energy levels soared, her mood improved, and she started looking forward to her workouts.
She discovered the magic of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Short bursts of intense exercises like burpees and mountain climbers, followed by brief rests, fit perfectly into her busy schedule. “It’s like I’m turbocharging my metabolism!” she thought, wiping sweat from her brow.
Turning Challenges into Opportunities
One evening, Sarah’s kids barged into her living room “gym” mid-workout. Instead of shooing them away, she handed them water bottles to use as weights. Laughing and cheering, they turned her routine into a family activity. “Who needs a gym when I have my own cheerleading squad?” Sarah joked.
Pushing Beyond Limits
By her third month, Sarah had outgrown her beginner workouts. She invested in a set of resistance bands and started following online strength-training classes. Push-ups, lunges, and planks became her new best friends.
She also added yoga to her routine, finding it not only strengthened her core but also helped her relax after long days. Her favorite pose? Warrior II—because it made her feel like the fighter she had become.
Celebrating Wins
Sarah’s journey wasn’t without hurdles. There were days when she felt too tired or unmotivated to work out. But she reminded herself of her progress. “I’m not just losing weight,” she thought. “I’m gaining strength, confidence, and control over my life.”
Her efforts paid off. Six months later, Sarah had not only shed the extra pounds but also discovered a sense of empowerment. Her story became an inspiration to her friends and family, proving that fitness doesn’t require a fancy gym membership—just dedication and creativity.

Sarah’s Advice to You
“Start small, but start somewhere,” Sarah says. “Your living room can be as effective as any gym. What matters most is showing up for yourself, even when it’s hard.”
So, if you’re thinking of skipping the gym, take a page out of Sarah’s book. Clear a corner of your home, lace up your sneakers, and start moving. Who knows? You might just surprise yourself.

Conclusion
Sarah’s story reminds us that fitness is not about the tools you have but the mindset you cultivate. Whether you’re a busy parent, a student, or someone looking to save money, home workouts can be the game-changer you need.

I was kinda skeptical about this because if dogs developed the eye muscles after diverging from wolves, that'd be an unusually fasting evolutionary trait - but it seems like this is, at least, partially true! Its specifically two muscles, with the abbreviations of LAOM and RAOM. All dogs in the study, including the siberian husky, had LAOMs, but Huskies specifically lacked RAOMs (the smithsonian articale attributes this to them being a particularly old breed, but I dont know enough to verify). For this, i looked into the following articles but I'm by no means an expert on dog biology or genetics
