Obviously, both boys would be lucky to have you but I think that you and a modern-day Pero Tovar would have such a great time together. You could spar together at the gym where you both go to fight or Tovar would take you to concerts and nightclubs - partially because he loves to dance but also because it’s an excellent excuse to get his hands on you under the blinking lights. And you know Tovar would be the kind of guy to send you stupid memes and texts whenever he got bored and started missing you or the baked goods you so generously provide him with. Be careful with this man’s heart, Iris, because he is head over heels in love with you!

A critics review: The Place Beyond The Pines

The place beyond the pines - what a movie, what an arthouse movie even.

I was first watching this movie when I was a bit younger - too young to recognize the depth and the feelings that went with this movie. I thought at that time that it wasn’t a very interesting movie, maybe I even thought that it was a little bit boring even though the film has some stunning visuals up it’s sleeve if you aren’t interested in the plot. But after digging a little bit deeper into the whole Arthouse genre I found myself with such a great movie, I don’t have words for it.

The Place Beyond The Pines is an extremely overlooked movie, like with most Arthouse movies there are rarely people who have seen it. Even though it’s a great film. It shouldn’t be, in fact this movie should be an Academy award one.

Ryan Gosling has always made a great performance - no matter the movie, so it didn’t surprise me that his acting in this movie was as beautiful, pure and balanced as in others he had made. Also wonderful: the chemistry between the actors. I can’t think of anyone else to better portray the problems of the main characters than Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes and Bradley Cooper. Especially Gosling and Mendes just make the relationship they have feel so real, the problems they have aren’t really typical family problems, but still, you can identify with them because of how the actors portray the problems. You rarely see such pure emotion in movies as in The Place Beyond the Pines. Kudos also to Dane DeHaan and Emory Cohen who did a great job portraying their part of the story.

The Place Beyond the Pines is not a movie you will watch in a hurry, and it definitely won’t be a movie you’ll forget in no time. Once seen, you can’t forget this movie for quite a while. The whole mood of this movie will make you sad, it will make you think about how you handle your own life. Not one movie is perfect, every single one of them has flaws, in this it’s the sometimes too long extended story. But these points are so minor that it isn’t really worth writing them down. The Place Beyond the Pines has some stunning visuals, great music, brave and good acting and a plot not about just people, but about consequences.

When you watch this movie, always be aware of the bigger picture. This is not just a story of two families but it’s a story of life changing consequences.            I definitely can recommend The Place Beyond the Pines to everyone.
