It was really supposed to be a relaxing time at the museum for Proxy as he viewed the exhibits, wondering if he could sneak out one of the fluffiest rugs he had laid eyes upon to wrap his daughter in. As he rolled along the aisle and looked at some splatters of paint on a canvas that was claimed to be ‘art’, he couldn’t help but notice the other man speaking to the curators.

He didn’t really think too much about it, until he passed by and heard the voice of the other- then it struck him as to who he was...and he should not even be here, let alone be alive. Proxy turned away quickly, recalling the time a transmission had been picked up by an unknown source and he was forced to attend to it: only to be privy to the death of the very same astronaut, screaming for assistance as his body spontaneously combusted on the doomed craft he had been on. It was truly a harrowing experience even if he had not seen the other face-to-face, because the voice haunted him even to this day. That was the first and only time a NASA transmission had made it to Manticore, and one of the rare things that could truly shake Proxy’s lighthearted demeanor.

At last, the curators left, and the other was left alone. Proxy rolled over to beside the man, trying to get his attention. “Hey, you’re an astronaut, right?” he asked, his voice remaining cordial and conversational before his tone dropped to a whisper at the next enquiry, “Weren’t you supposed to be dead?” To the other patrons, it would only seem like two fellow artgoers striking up friendly conversation: but for Proxy, he needed answers.

"In 1996, Wyse began her best known artwork, a pill-themed installation called Jesus Had A Sister Productions. It is a work-in-progress that takes the form of a fictional pharmaceutical company. Each installment is a series of pills, sprays, occasionally children's toys and other media. These objects are packaged in plastic with a cardboard heading stapled to the top that lists their purpose. The work dissects aspects of human relationships such as trust, love, communication, pleasure and power. Wyse incorporates advertising images from the 1960s into her work to underline the absurdity of these images as well as our lust for shopping and mass consumption."
