" [...] Come rappresentare questo, che cosa farne. Usiamo orologi per misurare il tempo – quelli meccanici, con le lancette; ma in realtà non è che lo misurino, bensì: creano una convenzione così che tu ed io possiamo darci un appuntamento nello stesso luogo, che è un preciso momento (il tempo è un luogo) – e le lancette che girano, laggiù c’è il ricordo, l’archetipo, di un tempo circolare. Poi diventato lineare. Infine puntiforme. Contengono un piccolo paradosso, quello che la punta della lancetta si muove più velocemente della sua base, ad ogni scatto. Girano, sembra che le ore tornino, non tornano; forse nemmeno arrivano, sono già lì e scivolandoci ci arriviamo e passiamo oltre. Sono già lì, tutte insieme (il luogo è un tempo)."
