Workshop with Artist Jordane Saget.
I used to do a lot of workshops when I lived in Singapore and it was always a great way to bring me back into creative mode. When I saw this workshop with street artist Jordane Saget being advertised I signed up right away. It was held at famous clothes designer Agnes b.’s art gallery La Fab in the 13th arrondissement near Bibliothèque François Mitterand so it also gave me a reason to explore the neighborhood again.
Jordane Saget is a renowned street artist who plays with lines, curves and perceptions to create often ephemeral works drawn with chalk or brush.
It’s worth checking out his Instagram.
When I first arrived in Paris I came upon some of his work (he had drawn on a manhole near our place and also on some store shutters in a small street nearby -last photo) but since he doesn’t sign his work I had a hard time figuring out who was the artist, until he collaborated with another artist I knew and I could put 2 and 2 together.
During the workshop he explained his process and told us to give it a go. And now I’m basically him as you can see from my two try… except his are precise lines, drawn either under time pressure when he does street arts or in front of an audience and mine are chaotic. Because behind the appeared simplicity there is a real talent. He is also a very nice and approachable guy (believe me I have met some I wish I hadn’t).
His chalk (yes chalk and it’s still up almost 2 years later) piece on the store shutters.

And his more permanent piece to show the way to Agnes B. La Fab art gallery

Q1: What kinds of collaborative projects would you like to do ?
Creative direction for fashion
Such as brand collection designs, fashion magazine layout designs, also brand designs, brand websites as an assistant to help the fashion designer to stand out more. I could collaborate with a fashion designer to design accessories, such as hand bags, skirts and so on, for example, such as designing an illustration handbag.I could learn a lot of critical thinking skills from the fashion designer due to some similarities in the major.
Music
I have a high interest in music, especially music videos. I could collaborate with a music student from the music major and create a new music video based on the songs that they composed, and further expand more merch designs such as CD album cover, key chains, it can train up my design skills more, also it is an opportunity to train my communication skills.
Animation
Illustration of a book, or collaboration to come out in game character designs or create animation videos for public alert uses, such as warning videos displayed in MRT, or create children story books.i believe which helps me to find out my own design or art style better, and build up my sensory of style or taste, learning illustration fundations from animation students.
Tumblr media
Q2: What kind of final projects would you like to do ?
Awareness of Surrogacy, even though we live under the protections of surrogacy it's still a serious concern in other countries.i observed from the new reports some celebrities would choose surrogacy just to prevent gaining weight or side effects after pregnancy, and there’s an huge black industry’s chain behind all of the surrogacy system. I could design the billboards, to display around the MRT area or around the streets which can bring people strongly alert. Or collaborate with an artist to come out of the art exhibition or showcase to express the topic of surrogacy, designing posters, hand booklet.
Q3: consider “community engagement and professional skills “
Animal lover league
I noticed that the wild animals normally becomes an target especially in murder case new in recent singapore's report, which brings up my alert, by spreading awareness  i could collaborate with the communities to start up an student projects or competition by helping the wild cats to design an cardboard house which easy to recycle or build up again as an protection shelter towards to the wild animals.
ArtsEquator
By helping them design a platform to promote the southeast art promotions, also gaining up critical thinking skills by collaborating with them to create a critical environment for the artists.
Autism association
By helping them design or create visual supports such as schedules, labelled storage bins, reminders due to autism, kids mostly rely on visual elements to help them understand the environments, by design visual supports which can help autistic kids have less struggle when they are facing education pressure.
Q4: how might CTS -A help you professionally ?
It helps me to observe, reflect, alert the surroundings that happens, and how can I think of a solution and connect with my professional skills, how can I specifically come out with a solution and bring criticism on it.such as evaluate arguments, fix the errors and elaborate the exact solutions, which clearly helps me to digest complex information especially towards to the new year to process all new informations. Such as stress management in studio and craft workshops, redoing amounts of work and training how to design in professional ways, process and documentation as a loopback for all of our modules.

Artistic Vision and Social Engagement
My Artistic Vision:
Tumblr media
Globe Man
“An old globe hangs in a cluttered workshop, contrasting with the vibrant red jacket of a partially hidden figure. The globe symbolizes dreams and exploration, while the messy surroundings suggest forgotten ambitions. *Globe Man* captures a moment where the past and present meet, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own journeys and the potential for new adventures.”
This photography piece was created for the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) competition under the theme “Beautifully Different” The shot captured a perfect moment, as the person in the photo just happened to walk by the globe, sparking all sorts of narratives that this image could evoke. Globe Man represents a spontaneous yet meaningful intersection of different elements. The vibrant colours, the old globe, and the hidden figure who invites viewers to form their own interpretations. Each aspect works together to reflect ideas of self-discovery, purpose, and possibility within the constraints of ordinary life. By capturing this piece, I hoped to inspire others to look beyond the immediate and find beauty in forgotten dreams, ready to be rekindled or explored.
Globe Man aligns with the concept of creating art with purpose.
Tumblr media
A principle highlighted by Milton Glaser’s Law, 1987, one of his most notable works blending graphic design with social commentary. Created as a poster commissioned by the School of Visual Arts, Law, 1987, it reflects Glaser’s perspective on the nature of laws, human behavior, and the role of design in society. It exemplifies his philosophy of using design as a tool for communication, emphasizing that art should convey messages that reach beyond aesthetics.
The poster features a simple, powerful message in bold type: “Art is Work,” a phrase Glaser emphasized throughout his career. This slogan challenges the romanticized view of art as a mere hobby or a flash of spontaneous inspiration. Instead, it underscores art as a disciplined, labor-intensive craft that requires dedication, skill, and resilience, much like any other profession. Glaser’s perspective redefines art as a process that involves rigorous effort and purpose, elevating the creative work of artists and designers to a level of serious, valuable societal engagement.
With Law, 1987, Glaser also comments on the crucial role of artists and designers as active contributors to society. By placing art on par with other forms of work, he elevates the designer’s role as both communicator and change-maker, someone who can use their craft to spark dialogue and inspire change. This piece reinforces the idea that good design should serve a purpose and provoke thought, encouraging viewers to consider art and design as forces capable of shaping perspectives, prompting reflection, and inspiring action. In this way, Law, 1987 becomes a call to artists and designers to approach their work with intention and the understanding that their creativity can contribute to meaningful change.
